Customer Reviews Summary
High Meadow Pet Crematory is highly praised for its compassionate service and professionalism during difficult times. Many customers appreciate the personal touch, including home pick-up services and thoughtful memorial options. However, there are concerns regarding the quality of urns and the handling of communication during the cremation process, which some found lacking in empathy.

We would like to thank High Meadow Pet Crematory for the love and care they gave our sweet Rosie. She was our precious baby for 16 years. Their guidance and compassion were greatly appreciated by my husband and I during this very difficult time. Thank you, Jim and Joyce.

Losing a pet is like losing a family member. The people at High Meadow are some of the kindest people I’ve ever interacted with. Not only were they kind and compassionate, they offer a service to pick your pet up at your home. They’re also extremely affordable. I would recommend them to everyone

My 8 year old cat passed away suddenly on November 21. They were very kind and I got my baby’s ashes yesterday. I definitely recommend them and will use their services again when the time comes.

My dog passed away yesterday and Joyce called today to make arrangements regarding his cremation. She did not express her condolences when starting the conversation; she started it as a business transaction with no empathy or friendliness. There was some confusion because my husband had looked at the urn choices at the vet's office and I did not have the choices available. I had to go on high meadow's facebook page while on the phone with Joyce, which was not a user-friendly experience. And then I had to go over different sizes/styles, which would have been fine if she were paying attention. I had to tell her the same thing repeatedly, and I could tell she wasn't listening when she referred to my dog several times as "she" although my dog clearly had a male name and I had referred to him as "he" throughout the conversation. At one point she argued with me about the appropriate size urn for my dog even though I was standing in front of another urn I had of another dog who had been the exact same weight and I was measuring it with a ruler. Overall, I was very surprised by her tone. I see the older, good reviews here so maybe she's been doing this too long or it was a bad day. I have provided this critique to her directly and she has appropriately apologized but did not deny the specifics that I have mentioned. She made a bad time even worse and I would not recommend this business. I told her that I would be posting this online.

I want to thank them so much! I had to say good bye to my fur baby of 8 years and was out of state so they picked him up from hospital and we had him cremated. Picked up his ashes and he explained all to me also gave me option to purchase an urn which must say very reasonable price also got a necklace again very reasonable and they took time to transfer ashes into both for me. They were so nice and let me take my time in picking urn didn’t rush me in my decision. I recommend them for your very sad time in all that they do to help in the very sad situation . Again thank you for all you did to help me through this sad time but now he sits on his shelf and is at home with us where he belongs!

My daughter trusted them with final care of her beautiful Samoyed, and they were wonderfully compassionate and caring.

July 6 our beautiful lady crossed the rainbow bridge and I can’t put into words how compassionate Joyce and Jim was with the whole process of selecting a casket, Jim stayed after hours until I was able to get there from Pittsburgh!!!
Jerry Burner
They are simply the best to work with. Unfortunately, we have had to use their services four times over the years, and they have always been professional and caring.

Jim and Joyce Ward are the most compassionate people. They know that your pet is your family. They took care of my cats in beautiful boxes with beautiful compassionate treatment. I can’t say enough good things about them. They recently took care of my friends’ dog last week, even came to their home to get her. (They were devastated.) I was so pleased to hear, knowing Joyce as long as I have. So glad High Meadow is the place to call when you lose a fur baby.

I lost my precious dog, Lily, August 28th. She passed peacefully at the ER vet down the road from this facility. I was obviously devastated and could hardly think, but the vet called the crematory on my behalf and within an hour I received a call from them to make the arrangements. He was compassionate as we talked about jt through my tears. He also went and picked up Lily for me at the vet. I dont live close by and they were incredibly kind and accommodating for me to pick her up when ready. They also did her paw print and cut a lock of her hair for me. I will always be grateful for their kindness and professionalism. They took good care of my baby and she is now back home with me watching from the mantle.
Ashley Jackson
The loss of my beloved pup, Baxter, was very difficult, but High Meadows was so genuinely kind, professional, and accommodating throughout the experience. They were able to bring a level of comfort during a challenging time. I would highly recommend their services.

Since my wife and I opened Smith Funeral & Cremation Care In Westover a few years ago, we have received several calls for aiding families when their fur babies cross the rainbow bridge. Every single time, we call Jim and Joyce Ward to assist us, or we put those who call us in direct contact with them. To say that they are compassionate and caring is an understatement. They have always went out of their way to make sure that those fur babies have been cared for as if they were one of their own pets. I only recommend, and very highly recommend Jim and Joyce Ward in the event that you need their services. It’s good to know we have friends right down the road that we can count on for support. God bless you both!

My baby passed away on July 1 2020 at Cheatlake Animal Hospital. They sent her to High Meadow . So when I got her back I was so disappointed, she was in a cheap looking box. When I lived in VA I always got my babies back in a very nice box. I called and spoke to a gentleman, he said that is how they have always done it and I could of asked for a ern which I did not know. I will never use them again.
William Showman
We had to let our Sophie cross over the Rainbow Bridge so unexpectedly. We wanted a special urn for her. Jim and Joyce could not have been nicer or more helpful. Highly recommend High Meadows.

My son had to suddenly say good bye to his furbaby of 8yrs, Buddy, on March 10th. He chose to have him cremated. He paid $200 for this, and picked his ashes up yesterday. He received the ashes back in a cheap cardboard box. The ashes are in a zip lock bag with his name written on with a marker.Weve had 7 pets cremated by other places and they have ALWAYS came back in a wooden box included in the cost. VERY disappointing 😞
