We had a wonderful experience with Memorial Mountain View Cemetery with burying our family dog, Banjo. It was beautiful and I am so glad that we did it! They can take you around in their golf cart to get a sense of the beautiful place it is and show you the various plots available. The plot came with a service (even for the pet garden). So when the time came, they had chairs out for us and a canopy. We held a little service (complete with musical number) and then did a witness burial (we watched them bury the vault). The pet garden here is beautiful. They even have sculpted bushes that look like animals. So incredible. The video of our dog's funeral can be seen on YouTube on my channel (@tamilisa). Feel free to see the experience there! We highly recommend using the pet garden here. It is beautiful here. Debbie was amazing to work with. I am glad to know her and have her as a friend now. She was very sensitive to our sentimentality. She went over and above for us and Banjo! ❤️🦮

I’m very grateful to Jena and Stephanie for all they did to help me throughout the whole process of having to bury my husband of 47. He had passed away from cardiac arrest on a plane in Canada. It was very difficult to try to get his body back. I was calling Canada multiple times daily and being promised things that were not happening. It was already such a difficult thing for me and my four children to deal with and this all made it so much worse. Jena helped me from the beginning even though I live in another state and was trying to bury him in Utah. She was calling me and Canada almost daily as well and was doing everything she could to get his body to Utah. She finally told me that I needed to stop and let her handle it because it was way too much stress for me. It took over two and a half weeks to get him on flights. Then we had trouble with customs in LA and he was missing connecting flights. She tried to calm me and told us that we would continue with funeral services as planned on Saturday and they would get him ready as soon as they received him. When he finally landed at SLC we had more trouble with customs and they told Jena they were not going to release him until Monday. This was communicated to Jena on Saturday during the funeral that his body was supposed to be at. Former Senator Scott Howell was at the funeral and got involved. He and Jena raced to the airport with police escorts as they were calling Senator Mit Romney’s office to get more help and were finally able to get him out of the airport. Jena had first told me they needed 24 hours to prepare him and they ended up doing it all in about one hour. They did everything they could to make such a terrible situation a little easier for me by finally getting him there to at least be buried on the day of his funeral just a little later than previously planned. I couldn’t bear delaying this further. They also tried hard to not have me feel rushed and take the time my family and I needed with him before the burial. Jena has also followed up with me multiple times the past week after the burial to see if I am ok. They also went the extra mile and got Star Wars memorabilia for us to keep and remind us of my husband. I could not be more grateful to them for their help through this impossible situation and for trying to help me gain a little peace. I highly recommend them to anyone going through something like this with a loved one.

Bre and Jessie were very helpful during a very difficult time. Highly recommend Memorial Mountain View! Jena and Debbie were so helpful during such a difficult time! They were very understanding and patient while we mourned our loss, the services were great and took care of all the details so we could focus on family. Thank you!

We had the best experience dealing with Mountain View mortuary. They went above and beyond to make the pre-planning and the entire day of the funeral go very smoothly. They even remembered that some of the grandkids liked the gummy treats that grandma used to give them and as a parting gift they had a basket full of gummy treats to give to the grandkids. Talk about exceeding expectations! Francis and his team were great to work with. I couldn’t recommend them more.

Jeanette of Memorial Mountain View Mortuary assisted us in planning our daughter's funeral services, demonstrating both effectiveness and compassion even as tears and sorrow overwhelmed us. Her shared life experience allowed her to empathize with our grief on a deeply personal level, culminating in the creation of a safe, sacred space for our family to find closure. The support extended to us by the entire Mortuary team was invaluable, and the groundskeepers who consistently exhibit respect and friendliness during our visits to our sweet baby.-Wren’s Mom

Everyone at Memorial Mountain View Mortuary was very helpful and thoughtful. They guided us through the entire process with patience and sensitivity, always ready to answer our questions and make changes when necessary. It also helped that our parents had made all the decisions and payments in advance so that we didn’t have to worry about deciding what they would want or what the cost would be.Thank you to both the mortuary and our parents.

Poorly maintained graves! I have been trying to take pictures of the grave markers for Find a Grave and have to regularly clean them off. They are so buried in grass that you often cannot even see where they are. They say that they are cleaned off at Memorial Day and Labor Day but I have been there through both of these times and found that I still need to dig out the grave markers to even find them.

Memorial Mountain View Mortuary did an awesome job! When they came to get my mom they were very respectful. She look beautiful and the services ran very smoothly. They were very attentive to our needs. The only thing I would recommend is when zooming the services, it would have been easier to have a simple link instead of written instructions. We were very pleased and would recommend their services.

Love visiting this cemetery. The grounds are very beautiful and well kept. Always a peaceful, beautiful experience when I bring my family here on memorial day.

Mountain View did a great job with my mother’s services. Megan took things off our plate right away, and Crystal was available throughout the whole process to answer any questions. They gave us ideas for the services, helped us prioritize, and in general just made things easier during a difficult time. We are very appreciative of their patience and the extra efforts put forth to make sure our family was doing okay, even after the funeral.

We are very thankful for Memorial Mountain View Mortuary. They took great care of my mom by helping her look her best. While it is not ideal to have a funeral during COVID, they were able to help create a wonderful day even within the state restrictions. Crystal was wonderful. It felt like we were working with a close friend rather than a stranger.

All of the staff are extremely kind and professional. They clearly understand individual differences in times of grief. They were very patient as we struggled through a difficult time. They gave our family many opportunities for us to say if we needed more time in pre-funeral preparation and let us determine the pace. They guided us through every step. We are very appreciative of their attention to our every need.

My parents had pre-arranged with a medical teaching/research facility to donate their bodies upon death, but at the last minute my mom was not eligible and I had to find a new place for her. Crystal was incredibly helpful and met with me right away and took all the stress out of what was a hard situation. All the services and people I interacted with were helpful and maximized the compassion side of arranging for my mom’s final arrangements. Their fees were right in line with other places but their manner of dealing with me was, from the initial phone interaction, far superior to the others I called. I am so grateful to them.

Crystal was absolutely amazing! She took care of us as if we were family. I’m very grateful she was there to take care of every detail. She is an asset to Mountain View and we appreciate her and the staff. My mother passed away last month and she helped us through each step. We will be forever grateful!

I have two family members interned here at the cemetery in the cremation area, my son I lost in Dec 2014 and most recently my beloved wife on April 1st this year. We have a family niche (Boulder) along the creek, the personnel here have been outstanding in their professionalism and how they have helped me and my family deal with our losses. This a well run and well maintained place to have your loved ones laid to rest, it's so peaceful every time I come to visit, and I come a lot. I highly recommend this place.

Memorial Mountain View Mortuary is professional, courteous and sensitive to the needs of the grieving family when planning a funeral of a loved one. My unexpected experience, while overwhelming, was reassured by Melanie every step of the way. Her personal touch, to include texts, emails and phone calls, made me feel calmer with the whole process. From beginning to end the whole staff of Memorial Mountain View Mortuary, Murray and Cottonwood Heights, were supportive and fantastic! Even after the burial, when I needed some required paperwork, Melanie was at the ready to assist! Highly recommend!

Thanks so much for the attention to every detail. We were concerned to bother you on Sunday following our mothers passing, but Elizabeth was so kind in her approach, and then arrived with Jeremy to carefully take the body out tight quarters. Melanie anticipated our every need to as we planned the service, meeting our requests, but also suggesting possibilities. Megan handled the service so well, again meeting all our needs. They even provided a mother's treat at the interment. Thanks for helping us go through this without a hitch.

Both my parents passed away in the past 6 months. Memorial Mountain View mortuary was very helpful in my time of need. Very respectful.

Memorial Mortuary helped me through a difficult time with the sudden loss of my husband. They walked me through everything, holding my hand and adding little details to the funeral. Even to adding my husbands favorite snack of cheese and crackers to the graveside service. I didn’t have anyone to affiliate the service and they had an employee jump in who did with such love, sincerity, you would have thought he was part of our family......thank you Mike! During this week of planning my husbands funeral my father passed away, they jumped in immediately to help us through that when during my husbands funeral my mother passed away. Crystal was a phone call away who immediately had my mother picked up and her body prepared so she could join my fathers funeral 4 days later with a sweethearts funeral. I was so amazed with how beautiful they made my mother looked, so beautiful, so peaceful. Thank you Crystal, Megan, and Mike, you were all so amazing, I don’t know how I could have done all this without you!

The grounds and location are beautiful.Just 19 months prior, they did a great job with my dad.The recording of my mother's memorial service was either not recorded at all and we were lied to about it, or it was lost and cannot be found which is ridiculous in this day and age. We were told that the charge for this service would be refunded. Refunding the charge will not make up for the lost service. Family members and friends who were unable to attend and were told we would have a recording for them, in addition to having it for ourselves…I’m just beside myself. We asked very specifically if we needed to record the webcast and were told no, that it would be handled. Apparently we should have anyway.Compared to our experience with our dad’s death - even during the height of Covid - other than our personal interactions with the funeral director at our initial meeting, the service we received for my mom has been very disappointing. From the subpar job done on her body, (which were told by the funeral director was either done by someone new or in a hurry) ultimately was satisfactory, but only after multiple requests - I have seen a lot of bodies and what was presented to me would have terrified and traumatized a lot of other people, the headstone not being moved as we were told it would be, there being NO MUSIC?? at the viewing or anyone who knew how to operate the sound system (my mother was a professional musician), a long-winded, though pleasant service director who turned my mom's funeral and graveside service into an opportunity to preach and made an already long service even longer, and now of all things…the funeral recording, the most important piece of that service that was so comforting to us. Not only is the kind of money the death business costing people a complete crime, it's all so unnecessary and the “business” of death is just not how we should be caring for each other as humans. It's organized crime in my opinion.A simple audio recording is so 20th century. I could have done it myself on my phone, and should have! There are so many other parts of the "service" we would have gladly given up to have this. I'm afraid I have no choice but to thank Francis for his honesty and leave Memorial a horrible review.

UPDATE: We had a manager from another Memorial Mortuary contact us who was incredible, as was the manager above him (who is above Megan as well, so possibly district or regional manager?). They were very sweet. The manager of the other mortuary was very kind & professional & helped us design my mother's head stone over video conference and we were given a discount. The regional or district manager Eleni put flowers on my mother's grave site. They called me & sent a picture after the headstone had been installed since I'm out of state, which was kind of them. Her headstone is beautiful & it feels like a closed chapter. These two individuals DID show me that Memorial has a heart.**My mother passed away 2.5 years ago & it was fast. She didn't have any life insurance, but I had just sold my house so I used the funds for her funeral. We LOVED Memorial Mountain View when we toured it - we were actually there when she passed (she was expected to have a few more days, which was the only reason we'd left her), so we took that as a sign & purchased the plot.It was only after that that we figured out how crazy expensive the headstones are & got the talk about how if we purchase a marker from a different company & it becomes broken (even if they break it), we'll be expected to replace it on our own; however, by buying through them at more than double the cost, they'll replace them. Oh, and there's a hefty fee of almost $1000 for placement PLUS another fee if you purchase your marker elsewhere. I couldn't afford it - I'd just paid $10k+ for everything else. I'm a single mom & I've been saving up money over time as my relatives weren't in a great position to help either. I emailed Megan Bohun in July 2020 about pricing, she emailed me back, told me she'd love to help me, gave me an overview of what's available & asked if affordability was an issue. I was honest in my reply when I said it was.... And I never heard back from her. Over the past year I tried calling the numbers on their websites & Google & only got the busy signal, then I gave up. What am I supposed to do?It's coming up on the 3 year anniversary of my mother's death & I feel terrible it's taken so long to get her a marker (and that, due to their lack of maps available online & confusing schematics we got when she was buried, we've been putting flowers & decorations in the wrong spot for a while now...). I feel taken advantage of & slighted. I wish I'd found a more friendly, responsive & moral cemetary for her.

The COvid 19 pandemic created devastating limitations with viewing and funeral desires for the loss of a loved one. Mountain View Memorial staff and directors were so sensitive and helpful in making the experience warm, friendly, and personable, within the guidelines and restrictions of a most difficult time. They were accommodating and gracious regarding special requests for added personal memorabilia and even assisted in the setting up and taking down of the items. Several times, I was unable to get to the mortuary during regular business hours and Melanie Johnson met me willingly, after hours. From the beginning of loss to the final moments, Mountain View Memorial made us all feel like family. I can’t recommend this establishment highly enough! Thank you for making a most difficult time a warm and inviting experience.

I cannot say enough! Megan and Melanie are amazing people. They made everything so easy for us in our most difficult time. The facility and chapel are beautiful and not to mention the grounds are so well kept. It is most definitely a place of peace!

They guided us through the process of saying goodbye to our mother with care and dignity. We really appreciated the help with a keepsake program for the service and being able to share the service through zoom. Every person at Memorial Estates treated us with kindness.

Beautiful grounds. We love the location. The view of the mountains and its proximity to family is ideal.BUT: After you've paid for the beautiful burial plot in the lovely location, the costs get unreasonable. Our sales agent dragged his feet, requiring us to contact him, and follow up with him.Part of the beauty of the grounds comes from the continuity of its grave markers... for which you can expect to pay more than double what independent monument sellers will charge. Yeah. More than double. Weigh in the extreme markups when choosing Memorial Mountain View. We've been delayed and ignored enough times to feel disrespected. With commissions like these, shouldn't we all be kings and queens? Pay double, then wait a minimum of 6 months for your marker to be placed. We'd still recommend it for the location. But it is unpleasant. Not because loss is hard, but because these guys make it uglier than it needs to be.Update: We received grants from charities to help with our expenses. Memorial is unwilling to accept their money. We were thrilled to find others willing to help us by paying Memorial. And we feel betrayed by Memorial for not working with them or us.

They maintain the property nicely. And it has lots of big trees and nice flower beds. And restrooms inside the building if you need.

Brian Bartlett graciously handled my brothers funeral and although he literally spoke (several times) to 7 of my family members he kept his cool and really helped us honor my brother. I would recommend Brian and his staff to ANYONE needing their loved one cared for and anyone looking to have a an amazing experience handled in the most professional way. Thank you again for all of your hard work!

This is such a beautiful cemetery. I don’t have anyone here that I knew but I was drawn to it for a single reason. The card they take in making it beautiful especially in the winter time. It has a special place in my heart. I recommend you go there in the winder and check out their tree of life that they decorate. It is one of the most lit up trees I have ever seen!

Becky Heumann

They handled my sensitive situation with grace and understanding. As hard as it was to say goodbye to my husband, I am happy we went with Memorial Moutain View.

A number of my in-laws are buried here, and they do an OK job on assisting with the needs of a death in the family and purchasing a lot. Trouble was my father-in-law had bought a lot, but then they did not maintain the trees and as a result they could not bury him where he wanted , which was next to his young daughter and other family members. This was very hard on my mother-in-law. They also do a rather poor job with the watering, and tend to either over-water or under water, and a number of headstones are covered in mud and debris that we are constantly moving and digging out. We have brought this to the attention of the grounds keepers, but no change. The day of the funeral, they failed to dig the hole, so he wasn't buried immediately, and they offered a small discount for the inconvenience. Very sad, and we would not have gone here had they not already had possession of other family members.

At such a difficult time and with many complications Memorial Mountain View was wonderful to help us through every detail! Everything was well organized and made it a beautiful day to show love and honor to our dear Mom!

If I could give less than 1 star I would.Your staff allowed a headstone placed on my husband's grave without my consent. I tried to work things out and no one would do any compensation for your mistake. This caused multiple serious problems with family members, but most of all, extreme anxiety and grief for me. So disappointed with the whole situation. I would never recommend your services to anyone!

This place is falling into such disrepair, and I am very saddened and disappointed. We have had multiple vases stolen off of the graves!

Words cannot describe how nice they made my grandfather and grandmothers funeral. Both were in winter on snowy days 2001 and 2010, and they made both go without any problems so that we could focus on what was most important those days. Thank you

Came to put flowers on the grave of my partner of 30 yrs at 3 pm.. 05/26/19 we have not had the time to get his headstone placed ...came back at 5:45 with his mother and the flowers I had placed were GONE.. this was such a disappointment. .. and on Memorial Day...We will THINK TWICE ABOUT EVER PLACING ANY THING ELSE. ..EVER AGAIN. ...Thank you for your response. ...I have called and talked to a very nice person..sorry I did not get her name...they said they would let the person know that responded....thank you. ..

I am so grateful to them.
elaina jackson

Warren Miller

Cindy Tovey

At a hard time in our our life we are thankful to the great people at Memorial Mountain View Mortuary. Our families experience with Memorial Mountain View Mortuary was very professional. The staff showed us compassion, empathy and kindness throughout the entire process. Melanie is an amazing funeral director.

Beautiful grounds and location, but lacking a personal touch. I attended a service today and expected individual small packets of tissues to be available and found only a few boxes scattered around the building. The Chapel was cold (temperature wise) and the program had Nearer my heart to thee listed instead of Nearer my God to thee. (proof reading not done I guess). I was disappointed.
Gregory McGinn
There where several veteran graves that had no flag or recognition. When questioned about that stated it was up to the families to honor them. When I asked several employees about this, why would they not honor them and he state it was the responsability of the family. I ask what if they had no family it was not there policy. I ask if he had been in the military he said no. I told him " you would not understand then, I am finished". He said good.
