On behalf of my husband Gabriel Guerra and I ,we would love to thank Mission Funeral Chapels Cemeteries & Creamatories. The staff went above & beyond for us. It was a pleasure to work with John Trevino. John was our funeral director. He was so very patient, kind, detailed oriented & above all very empathetic. Our son was taken from us very unexpectedly & tragically. We were told at first we would not be able to have an open casket for our son. But John and his staff were able to make that possible for us after all. Matthew's father was able to hold and kiss Matthew goodbye as he had wished for. Our daughter-in-law Savannah also passed away alongside our son, with our grandson still in her womb. John also worked very hard and diligently to make it possible for our grandson to lay next to our son for his viewing. That is something we will be forever grateful for. As at least we got to hold our grandson once in this lifetime. We Will cherish that moment forever. At the time John was also handling about 11 other funerals. But he was always available to answer our calls and help us guide us through this difficult process. We cannot thank Mission Funeral Park Homes enough for everything that they have done for our family.

From the very beginning, he was incredibly sympathetic and compassionate, making a difficult time much easier for our family. His attention to detail and willingness to accommodate all of our needs were beyond appreciated. Mr. Trevino handled everything with grace and ensured that the service was exactly how we wanted it. His warmth and professionalism truly stood out, and we are deeply grateful for his support during this challenging time.

My mom had pre-paid chapel services and burial here recently. Mission Park South carried out her wishes covering everything in detail. They were extremely supportive and left my mom looking beautiful like she was simply sleeping. They accidentally broke her headstone while excavating the dirt, but they immediately contacted us and reassured us a new stone was already ordered. Thank you to all of your kind staff that helped us throughout this difficult time. Your services were top notch.

We recently laid my mother-in-law to rest at Mission Park Funeral Home, and I cannot express enough gratitude for the care and thoughtfulness shown by the staff. The funeral director Mr. John Trevino was exceptionally supportive, guiding us through the entire process with genuine compassion. What stood out the most was a moment just before the burial. Without any prompt, Mr. Treviño came to speak, offering heartfelt words that deeply touched us all. His kindness and sincerity made this very sad time a bit more bearable and meaningful.Thank you, Mission Park Funeral Home, for your incredible support and for making a difficult time a little easier to navigate.

Our family tragically and unexpectedly lost our infant family member and were offered sincere condolences when met by Susan. She was unbelievably compassionate and was able to bring peace and comfort to my sister who was going through the hardest time of her life. Susan went above and beyond to make sure everything was just right and exactly how we wanted things. The funeral home was absolutely beautiful and the staff including Ms Alexis who helped were professional and extremely helpful. We couldnt have asked for better staff to help us say our goodbyes to my nephew. We are grateful for coming across your funeral home and thank you so much from the bottom of our hearts.

There aren't enough words that can explain the service that was provided by Mr. John Trevino. In such a tragic and sad moment in our lives, he went above and beyond the call of duty. He was very patient and kind assisting us with the arrangements. But what we really appreciated was his genuine concern for my mother and I. He diligently followed up with us, and called us back whenever we had questions. He kept in constant communication with me, as well as assisting my cousins in Mexico, via phone & text.Losing a loved one is one of the most emotional events that can happen in one’s life, but God bless people like Mr. John Trevino. He's naturally empathetic, and definitely provides excellent customer service to an array of different personalities.Thank you from the family of Juan Antonio Duran

First and foremost, Mr. John Trevino was incredibly helpful in making this difficult time in our life easier when planning the arrangements. He went above and beyond our expectations and during the funeral precession he made sure to go the route in order to pass by my grandfathers house and even stopped right in front of his house and opened the door of the Hearst as a sign of respect for our family which will forever be a memory in our hearts. This continued unto the burial where he spoke beautiful words about my grandfather and continuously made sure everything was in order with the Air Force during the ceremony. He was with our family every step of the way and we will forever be grateful for all of Mr. Trevino’s help during this difficult time.

It makes me ill every time I see the words “ perpetual care” associated either with this place. We are out there at least 3 times a week. The workers are riding all over on their tractors but we never see them doing anything. NONE of the sprinklers work. Oh they may shoot out water but it floods one spot since the ones that spray DO NOT move. So a lot of graves are severely sunk in while other areas are cracked clear to china from dryness! We have tried to take our own hose to water but there are no pjs es to hook up to. Headstones are broken and knocked over. We are always picking up branches ( not TWIGS) since the trees are all in such bad shape. The inside roadways have areas that look like they may be a sinkhole soon. It’s just awful. Guess Tips is too busy building a new location to maintain the current ones. Either he just doesn’t give a hoot about the south side location.

John Trevino with Mission Park was superb! It's already hard enough and difficult enough to go through the grieving process losing a parent but John took lead and walked us through every step. His compassion and caring is greatly recognized and appreciated through our difficult time. From everyone from The Blake Family, THANK YOU, and God bless!!

4th Visit (3/4/23): Maintenance "fixed up" my father's gravesite by placing rocks on it, then proceeded to run over his site with a work vehicle. They trashed my father's memorial plaque and all flowers. Spoke to a few people there and they have mentioned maintenence has been purposely leaving the water off so the family can't water their loved ones plot. Maintenance also dug up the grass on one of their loved ones gravesite and looks like they transposed the dug up grass onto one of the properties trees that had no grass previously. These guys do not care about anyone's loved ones here.3rd time our family has gone out here after my father has passed and they still leave his gravesite a mess! Now his plot has sunken in and someone else's loved one's headstone is placed in the wrong spot. And they are STILL demanding money from my family after how they have treated my dad so disgracefully. Save yourself the heartache and find another place to bury your loved one.

John Trevino has provided excellent and exceptional service to our family in our time of need. He has provided us with excellent customer service and has made the this time very less stressful. Thank you for all you have done for our family. We are forever grateful. Leslie Blake

Re: Commendation for Funeral Director John TrevinoMy parents, purchased individual cremation packages with Mission in 1992. My dad passed in May 2013, and Mission superbly handled his cremation then.My mother passed last Friday, June 7, 2024. On Monday, June 10, my wife and I met with Mr. Trevino to finalize arrangements and complete the required paperwork. I suspect for most, this process is emotional and unsettling. That was not our experience. Fortunately, a consummate professional – John Trevino- greeted and guided us through the process. His skill set and demeanor are ideally suited to be a Funeral Director. Mr. Trevino was caring and compassionate, and his voice inflection was quiet, calm, and reassuring. He expertly and professionally fielded our many questions. It was easy to recognize his knowledge of the cremation process and his love for helping folks through this emotionally difficult time.During our meeting with Mr. Trevino, we mentioned when my father passed, I had not been asked about his Veteran status, and, at the time, we had not contacted the VA to receive “his” flag. My wife mentioned that our daughter remained disappointed to this day since she very much wanted the flag as a remembrance of her grandfather. Additionally, I told Mr. Trevino that my father had served in the U.S. Navy during the latter stages of World War II. Since he was a native Texan, it was extraordinary that he served on the Battleship Texas.Mr Trevino immediately excused himself and stated he would return in a few minutes. Upon his return, he handed my wife a bagged U.S. flag with shell casings and a U.S. Navy and flag medallions. We will never forget and always cherish Mr. Trevino’s thoughtfulness and kindness. And what a wonderful emotional moment later that afternoon when we delivered the flag to our daughter. I’m sure she will always consider that moment very special to her – after 11 years, she finally had her grandfather’s flag –thanks to Mr. John Trevino. We express our heartfelt appreciation and gratitude to Mission Park and John Trevino.Mr. Trevino is a superb ambassador for Mission Park.Thank you, and God Bless.LSP & MVPSan Antonio, Texas

Isabella was absolutely amazing! As I struggled with the loss of my mother, Isabella made the process so much easier. She was extremely compassionate and empathetic. I felt her warmth and tenderness with the situation which provided some sense of peace. Isabella handled every aspect of the arrangements with such grace. I can not thank her enough! Mission Park has a true gem and should be extremely proud!

Mission Park Funeral home did an amazing job with every detail of my mother's funeral. John Trevino was very helpful and gave special attention to all aspects of the planning. He responded quickly to our phone calls and texts. The care and love that he provided to our family was above and beyond what we expected.

I would like to recognize John Trevino for the excellent service he provided for our fathers funeral service. He showed true professionalism and took care of our family with empathy and compassion. He took the time to ensure the procession passed by his home on the way to Fort Sam Houston and also expressed tremendous respect for the Taps ceremony. He made sure to hand the shell casings to the granddaughter that had served as a Captain in the Air Force to present to his spouse. This was very heartfelt and God Bless Mr. Trevino.

My 97 year old dad had prearranged funeral services with Mission Park South. My sister and I were responsible for planning the services. All of the people that we dealt with at Mission Park were extremely accommodating and compassionate. From Mia Garza, our planner, to John Trevino, our funeral director, and everyone in between, everyone went above and beyond!! My wife and I both agreed that my dad’s funeral was one of the nicest we had ever seen. I know that Pop was very happy with it. May God bless all of you at Mission Park for helping make a tough time easier.

From the family of Delia R Gonzalez, we would like to give Mission Park South a huge thank you for helping us with mom's funeral. But a million thanks to Mr John Trevino, he was very patient in our family meeting, we are six siblings with six different requests and he listened to each one of us and helped us in giving Mom a perfect funeral. Mom looked beautiful and we thanked the staff. After the funeral Mr Trevino continued to help with insurance papers and continued till everything was signed and all the t's were crossed and i's were dotted. When the time comes and we should need this kind of service, we would hope that Mr Trevino would still be working here.

When my mother, Herminia, passed away, she was to be laid to rest with my father at Mission Burial Park South. I had considered this the proverbial "one stop shop" at the time and was unsure what to expect from the staff or facilities. Still we wanted to avoid involving a separate funeral home if possible and were able to make both the funeral and burial arrangements simultaneously at Mission Park South. While some of the facilities certainly show the wear associated with a building of its age, the staff were outstanding in every way.My family met with a funeral director by the name of John Trevino to set up the funeral. Mr. Trevino's professionalism and expertise were flawless as we made the appropriate arrangements. As the process went forward, John ensured that any issues or scheduling conflicts were explained succinctly and with the diligence due to them, while still working through those conflicts in a timely and professional manner. In addition, Mr. Trevino's direction and handling of the funeral on the day of the burial proved to be nothing short of extraordinary, as everything ran on schedule and there were no issues with the procession, church service or burial. We also worked closely with funeral director, Marina Torrres. Ms. Torres demonstrated a high level of respectfulness and personablility thoughout the services and also showed herself to be highly skilled not just in the realm of funeral directing, but also in the realm of technology. Ms. Torres was able to advise us on various aspects of the funeral, as well as quickly rectify any technical issues that we encoutered as we worked on a slideshow and photo presentation that utilized various forms of media. When all was said and done, my mother had a beautiful funeral that was performed quickly and smoothly thanks to the spectacular, astonishing and incredible efforts of John, Marina and all of the staff at Mission Park South. God forbid your family should need a funeral home in the future, but if you do, this is a solid choice.
LORI DELAGARZA
Hello my name is Lori Delagarza Rodriguez, my father's service was held here at Mission Park South. The funeral director that was assigned to my father's service was John Trevino. Mr. Trevino went out of his way to make sure my father's service was perfect and perfect it was. Mr. Trevino is very sincere, his efforts will always be remembered and are greatly appreciated. I can not thank you enough John for answering my late night calls when I remembered something I was requesting and didn't want to forget. Us, the Delagarza family are very greatful and appreciate all your time. This man truly did do everything in his power to make my father's service a special one. Thank you a hundred times Mr. TREVINO

My sincerest appreciation to all the staff at Mission Park. Your coordination of my mother’s funeral services and interment was exemplary. John Trevino was especially helpful in ensuring every detail was attended to. At every turn he was there to guide and support our family. His actions really helped to minimize stress at a very difficult time.

The service for my Mother went beautifully. John Trevino was assigned as our funeral director and did a wonderful job. He listened, showed compassion and empathy. We asked John if he would be able to say a few things about our Mom which isn’t in his job duties. We were all so distraught that we didn’t think we could pull it off ourselves without breaking down. He happily obliged and spoke beautiful words during the service. He was so calm, and uplifting that he made the rest of us want to get up there and speak… and we did!John was also responsible for applying our Moms makeup. I was VERY specific on what I wanted! John did an amazing job on my Mom. Makeup was perfect for her, so natural. She really did look like she was sleeping. He made sure she was dressed beautifully as well with the clothing we provided. Down to her headband and glasses that she wore out of habit. Many thanks to, John Trevino.

Mission Park is absolutely the best, most caring Funeral Chapel around. Funeral Director JohnTrevino goes way above and beyond any expectations you could imagine. He is so efficient that all we had to do was make one phone call and sign the paperwork. That kind of help and concern really matters in your time of loss and grief. He took away a lot of the stress of our situation. My father was treated with he dignity and respect he earned by John. He even helped arrange the complete military honors ceremony at Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery. Our family has used them numerous time over the years as several generations are buried there in their park as well. You can feel safe and confident in their treatment of your loved ones. Thank you so very much John Trevino from the bottom of our hearts.

We truly felt the love we needed at a difficult time from the team at Mission Park! They stayed in constant communication with our family from start to finish. They exceeded expectations for their execution from initial meeting to designing an online obituary, to flower delivery, memorial service at their chapel and burial…and all the other tiny details you didn’t know you needed to address. They did an amazing job meeting our family’s specific needs. Highly recommend!!

My family has personally used Mission Park for several family members. I honestly wouldn’t go anywhere else. Under the management of Funeral Director Elizabeth Juarez, my family has been cared for with deep compassion, sincerity, and comfort. No one wants to make arrangements for a loved one, but Ms. Juarez made it painless. She has a way of genuinely comforting individuals and her expertise is impeccable. She gives you her time and undivided attention 24/7. Our services were on a Saturday and Ms. Juarez came in on her day off to help us and make sure everything was in order. Care and compassion like that are truly hard to find.

Going to funeral details at night for Marines as a young man seeing despairing at night for a young marine. Somber and sad reality of life of natives. Wish they put a cross lights on at night Jesus really King of the natives through marine corps boot camp through wars that one day family members reunited with family members. Image at night hit rest of my life.

John Treviño and the staff at Mission Park on SE Military did wonderfully with my grandfather’s funeral. He communicated to my mom frequently and ensured all requests were met. My grandfather’s service and funeral were done with the utmost respect. All details did not go unnoticed and were very much appreciated. Thank you all!

We are deeply disappointed with our experience at Mission, particularly during a period that should have been handled with the utmost sensitivity and professionalism. After the passing of my grandfather in April 2023, my grandmother purchased a burial plot from them, which began a series of frustrating interactions. The initial communication with Ray was unnecessarily drawn out, taking weeks just to secure an appointment. Despite the delay, we tried to be understanding, but the service did not improve. Almost a year has passed, and my grandmother has yet to receive the certificate of ownership for the plot she paid for. Despite multiple attempts to resolve this issue, Ray’s response has consistently been dismissive, telling us that “he doesn’t handle that” without guiding us to someone who does.Given my grandmother’s long-standing ties to Mission—her brother, parents, and my grandfather’s parents are all buried there—it is heartbreaking to see her treated with such disregard. We are now considering legal action as a last resort. This situation has compounded our grief and left us feeling exploited. I urge potential customers to consider this review carefully; the distress and inconvenience we have experienced here are things no grieving family should have to face.

With the lose of my wife of 73 years and this being the most difficult thing I have ever had to go through I would be remiss if I failed to recognize someone who has been so helpful in getting me through this difficult period. That person is Mr. John Adam Trevino. Mr. Trevino has been by my side with advice and encouragement in everything that had to be done. Without his compassion and guidance it would have been much more difficult. He is a very professional individual that not only takes his job seriously but more so his interactions with the individuals he is serving. My most sincere appreciation to Mr. Trevino for his knowledge and compassion for getting individuals through a very difficult time. John D. Tosh, spouse of Evelyn M. Tosh

We are so grateful for funeral Director Elizabeth Juarez and her guidance and support during this very difficult time. She was always one step ahead and anticipated our every need. Her kindness and thoughtfulness will forever be remembered by our family. We will return to Mission Park for any future needs. A special thank you to the staff at Mission Park Medical Center as well who made the celebration of life service run smoothly.

Review for John Trevino. We used Mission Park at the end of January 2024 for my mother's arrangements. She had a preplan with them but I have to say I was grateful she did because. John had such compassion for our family. He took the time to discuss and explan all that was going to happen. He talked to our family and helped us during ine of the most difficult times for my family. We asked to speak at the services since we were a small family and with just talking to us and the memories we had shared and during the memory video John was able to speak as if he knew our family. I can not express how impressed and thankful I am for John. When I go preplan I hope I am able to work with him

He made sure that all of our requests were met. He went above and beyond in every aspect of this sensitive sad time. We cannot thank him enough for his attention to every detail at the viewing, Mass and burial at Ft Sam cemetery. The lovely flower arrangements were spectacular.

Christopher Rosales
I would like to recognize John Trevino for the excellent service he provided for our fathers funeral service. He showed true professionalism and took care of our family with empathy and compassion. He took the time to ensure the procession passed by his home on the way to Fort Sam Houston and also expressed tremendous respect for the Taps ceremony. He made sure to hand the shell casings to the granddaughter that had served as a Captain in the Air Force to present to his spouse. This was very heartfelt and God Bless Mr. Trevino.

We would love to thank Mission Park Funeral Chapel South for the care of our mother Mary Ann Sanchez. The staff went above & beyond for us. It was a pleasure to work with Susan D. and John Trevino as our funeral directors. Susan worked with our Chaplain to ensure the services would happen according to our wishes and smoothly. John managed the arrangements throughout the funeral in such a positive way as a true professional.

My mother’s passing was unexpected, and we have never experienced a passing in the family where we had to be involved with the planning. Mission funeral home was the first place we went to because we were more interested in the burial site (close to home). We were not greeted with compassion; it was more like we were a bother to them. They handed us the list of prices and sent us off to speak to Mike who took care of the burial portion of it. Mike was nice and helpful, explained to us that the burial part and actual funeral home are two different expenses. We expressed to him that the ladies in the front were rude and not welcoming but we would still be using the burial site because he did help us and was available to answer any questions we had, even after hours. I can honestly say from the 4 times I had to go to the office, the 3/ 4 ladies we saw, not one had a welcoming face. This type of business needs people with heart, compassion, empathy. At end, I used a different funeral home (Trevino Funeral Home- Palo Alto) their staff went above and beyond for my family and me. We buried my mother there; Mike Z was amazing and very patient with my father.

Just wanted to take the time to thank John Trevino. He helped us through the difficult time of getting through the process of my Dads funeral. He went above and beyond many times and is an excellent example of how a funeral director should be. He treated us like family and was very respectful and sympathetic. Thank you John for all your help.
Corina Huron
My family unfortunately lost my uncle Dr Edward Huron in March.Mia Garza has been more than compassionate and helpful with us in having not only his viewing but his honors for the Marines. I couldn’t be more thankful for her helping us in this rough time. My family and I greatly appreciate her and would recommend this place to anybody.

Funeral director for our funeral, Carina/Karina Soto was very unprofessional with her mannerisms. There was a technical issue with the media diaplayed and she entered the room with a sassy attitude and speaking loudly for no reason. The other staff were quiet and respectful when entering the space. There was a typo of the year the family member was born on the obituary cards. The rosary was delayed. Hopefully more prepared staff can handle future funerals. Lastly, there is poor maintenance, there is a water feature that has old obituary cards and algae.

John was amazing! Patient, detailed, and helped us explore various options. Our family is extremely appreciative to have had his assistance.

On behalf of the Mendiola family we can’t thank all of the staff enough for the beautiful service they provided. Thank you for making one of the hardest time in our life so smooth and worry free.

Mr John Trevino (funeral director) and Ms Cindy Stoker (family service) provided us with professionalism, as well as empathy, and respect for the needs of our beloved deceased.

Our experience with Mr.Trevino was excellent, never had a problem with him or the staff of mission park funeral. He made sure my Mother in laws service was good to go and everything was beautiful. We appreciate all he help and patience with us in this difficult time we are going through.

Claudia Guerra

John Trevino (Funeral Director) and Elaina helped out alot with my father's funeral arrangements and burial. They were a tremendous help. Their understanding and compassion with any questions me and my family had gave us a lift off of stress that comes when approaching a funeral.Thank you again to everyone at Mission Funeral Home for your help and kindness 🙏God Bless you.

John Clint Mabry
We truly felt the love we needed at a difficult time from the team at Mission Park! They stayed in constant communication with our family from start to finish. They exceeded expectations for their execution from initial meeting to designing an online obituary, to flower delivery, memorial service at their chapel and burial…and all the other tiny details you didn’t know you needed to address. They did an amazing job meeting our family’s specific needs. Highly recommend!!

We used Mission Park Alamo for my father’s burial arrangements recently and I was very satisfied with the care and compassion shown by Yolanda R and the staff at the funeral home. It is very comforting to know your loved one is being put to rest in such a professional and caring manner.

Absolutely beautiful experience! I am clergy and officiated at a service in this facility. The team at Mission Park are incredibly easy to work with, positive, and they cater to every detail that ensures memorable moments for families. Thank you for your care and attention to detail!

My husband's family is buried out here and I was not impressed at all. They have stickers instead of grass and dead palm trees all over. I was very disappointed that they did not take care of it. I understand it is hot and dry here but stickers for grass are horrible. My mom is buried at Sunset Cemetery and they have grass and live trees. They need to take care of this.
Elinor Greene
Going to Mission Park south on Fathers Day was so very disappointing. There were high weeds everywhere and we could not visit family gravesites because the ‘stickers’ were so abundant and high. I’ve never seen Mission Park look so bad. It always used to be so lovely and serene.I did not complain when a nephew chose a burial space for his father (my brother) that should not have not been allowed. My brother had his own burial spaces in another area in Mission Park South, but my nephew wanted those spaces for his own family. The site in question belonged to my mother and she was never consulted or agreed to this. This site was to be for my other single brother. My mother was told she would have to purchase another site beside her space in order to have a burial site that was planned for him. She was so upset over losing her son at the time, she did not ask questions. This was not good business!! If I did not have my funeral expenses paid for already at your cemetery, I would not use your services. My family and my husbands family are all buried there and it is so sad that it must be greed that has replaced care.
Gina Schiller
Joe
Going to funeral details at night for Marines as a young man seeing despairing at night for a young marine. Somber and sad reality of life of natives. Wish they put a cross lights on at night Jesus really King of the natives through marine corps boot camp through wars that one day family members reunited with family members. Image at night hit rest of my life.
Amanda Canales
John Treviño and the staff at Mission Park on SE Military did wonderfully with my grandfather’s funeral. He communicated to my mom frequently and ensured all requests were met. My grandfather’s service and funeral were done with the utmost respect. All details did not go unnoticed and were very much appreciated. Thank you all!
Danielle Villalpando

When I go preplan I hope I am able to work with him
Suzanne Oosterveen
John Trevino was so compassionate and very accommodating. John took his time with us and was very understanding. John gave us his personal phone number and whenever we would call he always answered our calls. John, thank you so much for all you have done for us and our family.

Mr. John Trevino was our funeral director for my husband’s fathers funeral & burial today 3/13/2024. From the moment he introduced himself to us at the funeral planning meeting, we felt calmer because we knew we were in excellent hands. He showed professionalism with compassion and empathy. He made sure that all of our requests were met. He went above and beyond in every aspect of this sensitive sad time. We cannot thank him enough for his attention to every detail at the viewing, Mass and burial at Ft Sam cemetery. The lovely flower arrangements were spectacular. Mr. Trevino, May God Bless You & Your Family. Sincerely, Lorenzo Villarreal’s family (Larry & Margaret Villareal and Arleen & Don Miczygemba)

On behalf of our family, we would like to thank Elaina Alfaro and the Mission Park Chapel South staff for their care and assistance in creating a beautiful celebration of life ceremony for my mom, Janie M. Monsivais. They not only demonstrated compassion but went above and beyond to support us during this difficult time.

The service went beautifully for my granny Luz Gonzales. We have Mia to thank. She did a wonderful job and helped us get the church we wanted and a priest for the mass on very short notice. She coordinated everything perfectly and everything fell into place just in time. Thank you Mia and everyone who took part in making the funeral service exactly as my granny would have wanted.

Yes, the cemetery on the north side is very pretty. Our parents prepaid for yard maintenance.I feel they were cheated. They need to give us refund or start taking care on the south side where it began. My parents are by Matthew and Mark, how would the apostles feel ?Just water and groom please ?Add some pretty plants?
Helen Gauwain
It's a nice place , they do keep it up, but they never leave the water on for ppl to use to water there love one's grass that's the only thing is sad

Blessed by God it's not your work, not an entitlement, nor it can be earned. It is a gift from God. You're blessed to be blessed by others. It is an honor and privilege to serve the families that have trusted in me. It is a privilege to serve people, a privilege that must be earned, and once it's earned, there is an obligation do something good with it. We just finished praying the rosary and this lady (which I didn't get her name) opened a side door that's to the left of the casket and yelled to my aunt if the Mariachi's were coming "because it's already 7:00 and you said they were scheduled for 7:00". Smh. Have some decency and come talk to her one on one! Nope this lady yelled across to her. One other funeral director mid service walked up tapped the mic three times so we all heard the muffled taps over the intercom and walked up to my grandma's casket and looked her over and nodded then walked away??? maybe do that before you open the doors to us???? There was one older gentleman who was very respectful and knelt and whispered to my tia and uncle to discuss things with them. He was the only professional one there. The day of the burial they gave us the time of 11:00am. We all arrived to locked doors. All my grandmother's family and friends had to wait for 45 minutes outside til they opened the doors. Beautiful place just very unprofessional.

Less than a month after my mother was buried here, her tombstone was broken in half, and the grave site was run over by heavy vehicle.I was in complete shock and had an overwhelming feeling of losing my mother all over again. Her grave site was not the only one that was severely damaged. At another visit, there was a woman trying to break into my vehicle while I was paying my respects to my family members. This place used to be classy. Now it is trashy. I really hope that management changes things around for the better. Here's hoping.

Planning for your future resting place can be overwhelming. Especially when you just buried a loved one last month. I would love the share my experience with Kari Moody who is from Family Service. To begin with, she was patient, kind and understanding to all my concerns. I currently live out of town and she was able to give me a full details over the phone. The connection she made with me was so personable! Kari was also able to meet with one of my good friends in San Antonio to display the plots I am interested in.When you are ready to make the next step planning for your final resting place reach out to Kari. You will not regret it. Her kindness/knowledge goes a long way. Overall I am one SUPER SATISFIED customer!

Mr Trevino helped me in the most difficult time due to the loss of my husband. He exhibited professionalism, compassion, and attention to detail throughout the entire process.

I buried my first poodle “Bridget” in about 1993 in their pet cemetery. At that time, everything went well. I now have another poodle “Chloe” that needs to be buried. I was going to use Mission Park Pet Cemetery again on SE Military where my first one was buried. Until I read all the bad reviews about how they treated people burials. I did call several times and no one returned my calls. If they treat people that badly heaven knows how they would treat pets!

I had a sense of every detail being handled in our behalf. Thank goodness, because I was in no shape to have done it on my own.

We used Mission Park Alamo for my father’s burial arrangements recently and I was very satisfied with the care and compassion shown by Yolanda R and the staff at the funeral home. It is very comforting to know your loved one is being put to rest in such a professional and caring manner.
Dr. Rodriguez
Absolutely beautiful experience! I am clergy and officiated at a service in this facility. The team at Mission Park are incredibly easy to work with, positive, and they cater to every detail that ensures memorable moments for families. Thank you for your care and attention to detail!

Funeral Director John Trevino was a God send in helping us get through these troubling times. Made us comfortable with the process.

John Trevino was super awesome to our family. We think he went over and beyond to make this time of sorrow easy. We are so glad he had our services. Included all my grandchildren in some way even my smallest ( 12 & 7 ).

I want to thank Mission Park Funeral Chapels and Cemeteries South for services provided for my wife. John Trevino served as funeral director for chapel and burial services. John was extremely professional. All services John provided to my wife, me, and our family were outstanding. Thank you very much John.

I just would like to say Thank You to Mr. Trevino, for listening to my mom and my sister and myself while planning this hardest time in our life. He laughed with us when needed and should sympathize when needed. We were very please with everything

Cheryl Anna
I went here to visit my son. Was disgusted to see all the headstones that were damaged by vehicles running over them. DISRESPECTFULI WAS RELIEVED MY SONS HEADSTONE WAS NOT ONE OF THE DAMAGED ONES BUT ALSO HEART BROKEN FOR THE OTHER FAMILIES.

This place only cares about money. We chose to have our mother's funeral at a different place but we had to use Mission South because our Mom pre-paid for a plot when our father died 32 yrs ago. The cost to open the grave and put a liner in was 1/2 of the total cost for the other funeral home that did everything else. To add the DOB and DOD and a picture to the existing tombstone was going to be another $1200. We found someone who would do it at a fraction of the cost and Mission refused saying they do not let outside vendors come in and do that. It is all about the money and nothing else. They tried to get us to purchase a new tombstone saying they had new larger mowers and were not responsible for damage. Again - all about the money. Horrible experience. DO NOT use the place if you can. There are better places that will save you thousands.

I cannot stand Rachel. As a business owner myself, she's so many things that go against good customer service and good business. I don't care if she has a family bc she didn't care about my family who paid thousands for a funeral. My 9 year old daughter could've done better. If mission park south wants to improve, get rid of the funeral director, Roachel and all the other f ups there. Furthermore, MPS needs use the thousands of $ you take from many families and use it for maintenance and basic grass cutting which isn't hard to do especially with so many ppl doing side hustles, finding lawn care isn't hard to do. Start with this advice and improvements may start to show a bit....🤏

Mission park is pathetic, after seeing their ads on TV about all the charity's they support they need to stop giving money away and invest in their cemetary, they wrote a letter saying no more potted plants nothing left on the ground they will pick it up, the vases for flowers is 500 bucks I don't see how many people can afford this I can't, they don't offer you 1 either after all the money we spend on funerals there the service is sickening afterwards no grass on the graveside broken headstones sunk in headstones, no respect for any of our loved ones, but let me tell you the owner and his wife are dressed fit to kill when their on tv, its a shame our loved ones don't get that kind of attention, I have tried repeatedly to contact them and they have yet to return my call, so if you like throwing your money away and don't care about your loved ones this is the place to go, I will never bury any other family members here once they get your money you or your loved ones are nothing to them, I mean the owners do have an image to uphold ! God Help this place and our loved ones

If I could give ZERO stars, I would. This place is truly AWFUL! The staff has no compassion when working with families. It's all about the money and they could care less about the grieving family or the deceased loved one they are trying to lay to rest. My family has owned 4 plots at Mission South since 1979. When we buried my father in late 2010, his parents went on several occasions to find the grave sunk in and not filled with dirt...it took so long before any grass started to grow. We paid for a vase and multiple times, my grandparents found it broken or missing and Mission trying to get them to pay $300 for a new one. My grandma takes her receipt each time she goes to prove that we purchased it and make them replace it. We now need to burying my grandfather's ashes, after having his cremation and services at a far better funeral home, which only cost $3150. Mission stated that to bury an urn, place a flat headstone (purchased elsewhere), and NO graveside service would cost $4750...to bury an urn in a plot our family has owned for decades! We then have to consider the same costs in the coming years when my grandmother passes. Absolutely terrible! Every time I called, there was another fee they "forgot" to mention before, especially when I said I was purchasing the headstone elsewhere. They don't maintain the landscape and if they do mow, they damage the vases and headstones. Maybe they were better in 1979 but now all they want is your money. Please do your family a favor and find ANYWHERE else as a final resting place for your loved ones.

We were assisted by Marina at Mission Park South with the arrangements for my mom. Marina was very polite, helpful and so knowledgeable about taking care of our needs. She went above and beyond our expectations. Thank you so much from the bottom of our hearts.

John Treviño at Mission Park funeral home.. Was the Best!!He worked with me every step of the way (helping me get my brothers military funeral together!) walked me through the process .. had everything set up for us? It was absolutely beautiful.💕 Thank you John

Mr. Trevino was very attentive to our needs at the time of our loss. He took the time to answer and explain all our questions and concerns. He's a very comical person which made things feel more at ease. Highly recommend their services.

Kriystal Pardo

John Trevino
Blessed by God it's not your work, not an entitlement, nor it can be earned. It is a gift from God. You're blessed to be blessed by others. It is an honor and privilege to serve the families that have trusted in me. It is a privilege to serve people, a privilege that must be earned, and once it's earned, there is an obligation do something good with it. John Trevino (Funeral Director) Mission Park Funeral Chapels

Mission Park is a beautiful place. The director and staff support as if it were there own family, because indeed it is.. The hospitality is unmatched.. Very Blessed to have Mission Park to support our home going.

I want to thank Sabrina, Mia and Mr. John(not sure of his last name). They all exhibited patience with me, explaining the whole process of working with Ft. Sam Houston. I had many questions. Thank you all for your compassion, patience. God Bless you all for the work you do daily.

Mr. Robert Tips: thank you for the beautiful service to my husband.I need a favor. Could you fix the driveway to the mausoleum for handicap people? I am 91 years old and I am in the wheelchair. And I want to go to visit my son and my husband now. Please try to help and help me . Thank you. Yolanda Gonzalez.

Lack of communication. We ordered a $500 casket layout and the flowers are wilted. They told us we would have the chapel for two days and on the second date they switched us to a smaller room. We needed the chapel because we have a very big family of about 100 people and the second room fits maybe half.
Morty Gillum
website states that they do pet cremation. I called to inquire. before i could finish my sentence, the lady cut me off and told me they do not do pet cremation and informed me she had to go on a death call and ended the call. I understand the funeral industry, and that you have a death call. but be compassionate...but hey, even though he was a pet and not a human- I'm grieving too.

1 star just to leave a review. My many late fam members are buried here. My family pre-paid only to have the absolute worst customer service answering calls. She kept interrupting me with "yeah" chewing her gum on the phone like bon qui qui. Very tacky for a place that is supposed to be professional. Then Rachelle (whatever her name is) complaining about too many family members calling..it was 2. Fine lazy girl, take notes and communicate them to your contact person. If you don't like your job, don't work there. There's too many Karen like, ghetto sounding associates/directors, whatever they want to call themselves but it's pretty embarrassing for such a long time reputable funeral home. If I owned the place, I'd be embarrassed and clean house quick. Poor customer service like you have now, will catch up and only ruin your business. Lots of my fam are buried there going back MANY years fully paid..and for that kind of treatment? What a shame....I'm breaking the chain and going to, and I highly recommend Camero Funeral Home. Their cust svc is elite compared to this, and even do a much better job preparing the body for viewing too. My grandma passed of natural causes and was very unrecognizable...A new business model, real professionals and cust svc training is much needed. If I win the lotto, I'm digging up my fam and going elsewhere.

I visited Mission Park Funeral Chapels Southside location on October 10th 2020. I was there to attend the funeral of Mrs. Anna Maria Ruiz. This woman was a recognized prophet of God. She had a church & traveled the world talking about the one and only Jesus Christ. It would be easy to assume that she has led many to the Lord. She was a beautiful & great woman. As I was recording a memorial video, a very shocking and offencive thing took place about 6 feet from me. I was standing off in the distance to get a great View of the crowd that had gathered for Mrs. Ruiz. I found myself next to some employees of the funeral home. As I was recording the video, the sound of voices caught my attention.NO, RIGHT??? This couldn't be happening!I was shocked but, not as shocked as I would be when I started to pay attention to what they were talking about. Six feet away from me stood 4 employees OF THE FUNERAL HOME, having a discussion about the presidential election. "I mean, How completely dull can you be? How much lack of common sense is within you?? SURELY, they will quickly realize that this is not the time or place before it's too late!", I thought to myself.Well, I thought wrong! The volume of their voices started to raise as their passions were ignited by each other's comments. I literally had to ask them to not have the conversation as I was recording! The 4 seemed taken back by my request. All 4 advanced in years; (3 males & 1 female) all 4 my elders. The woman answered back, "Sure". The correct response would have been "yes ma'am" but, that was far from her. Have you ever heard that in customer service you're supposed to say things with a smile?Well, by the tone of her voice there was no smile on her face.Yesterday was election day and nobody has taken their right to vote away. To be quite clear, I truly don't care which side anybody is on. It's your right as an American and nobody is trying to steal that from you. What I'm saying, is that something has been stolen from me.I do not appreciate the disgrace that has been extended to me at a time when I am supposed to be allowed to mourn.Mrs. Anna Maria Ruiz lived a good life & was a treasure to all who encountered her. She is my great aunt & I am very proud of the life she lived. I love her very much and she as well as our entire family deserve to be treated with dignity & RESPECT!I uploaded three photos and the funeral home only kept the beautiful image of a balloon release.I took that image from the video that was RUINED by these completely careless nitwits.

I leave a one star because I have to in order to leave review. My heart has been ripped from my chest by this place. They are in the business of burying one’s loved ones without questioning. MARY informed me that anyone can bring a body to be buried here all you need is a date of birth along with payment. Nothing else. My father was buried this way. By the very person who is being investigated for his passing.I hope that no one ever goes through what me and my family are going through now and forever will be.
Judy Toscano
Came to visit my parents grave today, Father's Day, and found their gravesite flood by the sprinkler system, water four inches deep all around their graves, water spraying on their headstones and their bench! Makes it hard to visit and place flowers when you can't even get near the site! You would think on a day when many families visit gravesites watering would be done the night before or not at all! This is just one of the many problems I have had with this cemetery, the other problems were much worse. And guess what, supervisors are never available to speak to!
Christina Barrera
John Trevino was very helpful throughout the whole process. Thank you

NOT Very Happy! I JUST GOT WORD THE WATER IS OFF, and don't have an answer to when the water will be turned on. Our family has been keeping up with the grave site. We just layed grass and have to maintain it ourselves. My father just passed 3 months ago. It's been awful to deal with the office. Also were mislead with purchasing the companion headstone. We are still grieving and this has been an awful expierence! Supposedly the water pumps or well is being maintenance on by another company. This is such an inconvenience. No one at cemetery keeps up with grave sites. I was told that Mike Hoffman the general manager is on vacation and will not return until Monday, and there are no answers.
Gail Clark
Mother's Day 2021. This is one day of the year when gravesites are highly visited and family should be comforted and feel all is right with loved ones gone before. Imagine visiting only to find Grandma's grave looking like an overgrown vacant lot. Well, it's happened TWICE to me. Both times on a Mother"s Day, the first was a few years ago. Weeds almost knee high around grandparents and great aunt & uncle's headstones. There were many gravesites looking equally weedy and neglected on the hill. Should I have had to spend my time there pulling weeds by hand? Twice? Enough to fill a grocery bag stuffed so full it couldn't be closed. I know there was welcomed rainfall earlier in the week but if Mission"s "perpetual" care team could not make their park presentable for Mother's Day then outside weed control services should have been utilized. No excuses are acceptable. Hmmm, makes me wonder if the parks on the north side were this shabby looking.

We had an inurnment scheduled for 11am on the 15th of January which is a Saturday. We got there at 10:30 AM only to find the mowers working in our section! The wind was really strong and so we couldn’t even get out of our cars until they finished at 11:15 AM. We called several times complaining and they were instructed to leave, which they ignored. Our site was dirty and no one was there with the container to place the urn in when buried. An emotional day was made worse with the unnecessary stress over terrible service!
Ivana Kruzic
If I could leave no stars I would have. Very unsatisfied with the way things were "handled" for my loved one and his family. Poor service. Chuch was not confirmed (so no rosary or any service was held. This time is a sensitive one and it got worse with nothing being in order( the family had so much to deal with and this added more burden to the family.
Santos G Escalera
the office people at this location suck, they do not know what they are doing. they even moved our loved one to a different room without notifying the family and were also very rude when we asked why she was moved. Then they didn't put the obituary until 2 days AFTER our loved one was buried, and still with them doing that they still got the obituary wrong after 2 tries. misspelling names, forgetting names, and even adding a name of some unknown person. if I could I would put zero stars for this place. therefore I would NOT RECOMMEND this place to anyone..
Roger Alex
I'm very disappointed with Mission Park. The casket my mom was in was damaged and they totally disregarded it. The roads are all pot holes driving thru. I call to voice my opinion and never get a returned call. I called a couple days ago to find out if the plot next to my dad is still available and don't get a returned call. Also the tome stones are crocket. My family had to plant grass on my moms lot along with adding soil to the grave. my family called numberous time about this only to get no response. My sister took my dad there to visit my moms grave only to get the window busted out of the car and have her purse stolen. Worst cemetary ever. We are going into Feburary and there are still Halloween decorations on the grave sites. Everything is dated and employees are not compassionate and all. I understand this isn't a perfect world but bottom line is they don't care. every-time i see a new grave the tombstones next to it get shifted. The upkeep there is the worst.

I little disappointed that the park decides to do mowing and weeding during one of the busiest day, Mother’s Day. Nothing but dust flying around while we are visiting.

I have been bringing flowers to my parents and grandmother’s graves for all major holidays and their birthdays only to find them gone the next time I go with the rare exception of last fall. With the way the holidays and their birthdays fall I am there nearly every 4-6 weeks. There are other flowers around that look like they have been there for years but mine are always gone. I mean the whole vase and flowers not just the flowers. This is VERY frustrating and expensive
Dlo
My parents are buried at Mission Park Funeral South they invested their hard earned money to plan their final resting place together but where they are located they have had a corroded water pipe that has already in past to which we had to replace headstone due to excessive water exposure from that leaky corroded water pipe. It is hazardous and harmful but instead of it being replaced it is ignored.
Rudy Rocha
John Trevino the funeral director was so patient and excellent in explaining everything for our dads funeral!

BEWARE - We purchased out plots 10 years ago in 2009. Back then, the staff was amazing. My father passed recently, Mission Parks charged me for interest on the most ridiculous "fees" regardless of having pre-arrangement plan. They have no compassion for families, it's all about making MORE money. Those of you who have pre-arrangments BEWARE, they are going to ask for more money, they will find loop holes. They should change their name to Money Parks Funeral Chapels.

My brother's and mother's graves always look awful. The two sprinklers North and South of the site don't reach the 10 feet at the bottom of a small knoll where their plots are located. Their graves are solid dirt with weeds while a grave 6 feet away is sinking in with a 6 inch deep pool of standing water . I am being cremated and my ashes scattered for sure.
amanda anderson
We have had family out here for years. They don't take care of the property, there is trash EVERYWHERE. There is no way to water flowers or the grass. They talk about beauty at their sites but there is no beauty at this one. Very poor considering how much we've spent with this company.
Andrew Fernandez
This is the most incompetent place to have a funeral. The disorganization, total lack of communication, follow up and follow through is ridiculous. Everyone that works here is titled “Funeral Director” but no one actually takes charge or initiative to do anything. **Stay Away**

Ant beds are everywhere and nothing is done about it. burial plt ground is sinking and nothing is done about . weeds and small tree limbs all over and around my parents grave site and nothing is done about. Despite the money my family has paid them over the years, if I want the graves site maintained I must bring my cordless edger, blower, ant poisoning and grave stone cleaner and do it myself. Friends - that is not perpetual care by any stretch of the imagination.

My mother bought pre paid insurance 01-20-2010 , they calculated 10years they took 47.71 the pre paid policy is worth 2,807.00 but have taken $5725.20 called 1800 number the only answer for over payment is that it is her insurance and go to page 2 ... page 2 says you should calculate the total amount now to avoid future confusion ... out cell phones didn’t have calculators back 10 yrs ago and they made her put her initials .. there fore my mom is out 2918.20. Cant cancel since has 6 months to go for 10 years ... so. Be careful so t trust them

Just attended a funeral here and noticed the place not only needs to be cleaned but is in dire need of repairs and perhaps a remodel. The entire property has potential to be a very beautiful property but lacks care and attention and gives the illusion of financial instability.

Horrible staff, rude, neglectful and disorganized. They are no help when it comes to questions and don’t follow up on their word. The cemetery is completely disorganized, dirty, and they don’t have certain plots marked. I also saw bad things about this place on TikTok.

The workers at this funeral home were not helpful at all. The lady helping us was rude and did not explain anything properly. I'm glad we were able to transfer to another funeral home.

Very disappointed about this place...my sister has been buried for 8 years now and there has not been any water since then. We keep complaining about it and still no response from anybody. I have planted grass 3 times already and it just keeps dying because of the lack of water. I DO NOT recommend this place.

This morning I was leaving some flowers for my dad and I noticed that they were mowing the lawn and I saw a gentleman get off his mower and pick up some flowers that were in his path and place them where they belonged on the grave site, this brought a tear to my eye just a little gesture meant so much to me he could of easily ran them over, I wish I would of stopped a asked his name.

I was at the cemetery this weekend and was very upset to see many of the grave sites/markers in the back had been gone over by tractors, leaving the markers out of place and crooked. I find that very disrespectful and lacking in "perpetual care."

Larry Milan
Mr John Trevino was very kind, compassionate, professional and very understanding to our family needs during this difficult time
Sylvia Farmer
I little disappointed that the park decides to do mowing and weeding during one of the busiest day, Mother’s Day. Nothing but dust flying around while we are visiting.
Cheryl Alblinger
