I recently lost my wife and Memorial Funeral Home handled the arrangements. They did an incredible job and I would highly recommend. The services were perfect, no detail was missed and the compassion everyone showed to me and our family was heartfelt.Leon guided us through the selection process, helping us better understand our options and transparent about costs. He was a true professional, worked within our budget and made the process easy. Daniela handled all the communication and logistics. She went above an beyond, making sure every detail was perfect. She was in constant communication with us, letting us know what was happening. However, what made me write this review was David Rubio. David lead the funeral services. His compassion for me and my family was exceptional. He seen how much I was hurting and took time to share his own story with me, that helped bring perspective to the events. I will never forget the compassion David shown me or the professionalism of the entire staff at Memorial Funeral Home. Thank you!

I wouldn't even given them a freaking star. These people charge my parents over 10 grand, knowing that my fathers was a veteran, and they knew that, because we mentioned it. All they were supposed to have charged was for viewing, newspaper ad. Oh no, they charged her the works. It's been 5 years now, and so I got concerned after going to San Antonio for Wreath Across America, and called Fort Sam cemetary in San Antonio, and they gave me the inforamtion to find out exacty what they take care of being that my dad served in the Army. So, I mentioned what happen in Edinburg, with them charging my parents, knowing that we stated he was to be taken to San Antonio. They were just as upset, because they should know their job and how the military works with funeral homes. So, they were kind enough to send me the forms so that my mother can get reimbursed. Talking about greed, even with the deceased. So, now I have to do the samething with my mom services, because she will also be buried in San Antonio, and I see all these charges again. I work for an attorney, and I don't want to get ugly here, but come on. We put our trust in you not taking advantage of the elderly. This really pissed me off. Never will I go to them again. So people double check your contracts, especially if your love one served in the Military, they will provide for some of the funeral services.

My wife and I were looking for a place that handles pet cremations. We were very hesitant and nervous about the process, wanting it to be done with dignity and respect for our beloved cat, Jade. Once we stepped into Memorial Pet Passages, Eduardo made us feel at home. He ensured we were comfortable and that we had chosen the right place. On a Sunday evening, he took the time to explain how the process is done and even related to us about the loss of a pet and how difficult it can be. Eduardo's energy is great, and if things are not done right, he goes the extra mile to make it right. The world needs more people like him. We are extremely grateful to have chosen Memorial Pet Passages.

this place is not professional at all. i had made an arrangement with them for a direct cremation for my mother in law back in September. She still hadn’t pass, but we wanted to have something started and not do it last minute. the person who helped me ( not the funeral director) with taking all information needed was so indifferent. she just didn’t give a welcoming vive. well i just recently called to make an appointment to make a payment towards that arrangement because my mother in laws health really deteriorated and we wanted to give an advanced to make it less heavy on us monetarily wise on the day of her passing, well the lady who answered the phone sounded irritated from the very beginning. she was asking so many questions as if not having a clue at all as to what i was enquiring about, and sounded annoyed because she needed to find out. i hated her tone of voice and attitude given. this line of business requires empathy and kindness to be shown from the very begging when speaking to potential clients. Families coming to you are going through very tough and emotional moments. we want to be treated as if our situation matters. that cold rude attitude has no place for a business like this. please reconsider changing your staff. i decided to go somewhere else, and the treatment i was given by the funeral director was amazing.

I saw the bad reviews about the Pet Passages. My experience was very different. I lost my beloved pet of old age. We knew she would have to leave us very soon and I searched for a place, I called very late Saturday night and the woman that answered my call was very nice and explained the process and pricing. Our dog ended up passing on Monday morning, they sent a man to pick her up, he was a very nice man, he answered my questions and wait time. Stated no other pets were waiting to be cremated before her and Tuesday afternoon I got the call that she was ready.Thank you for making this process easier for my family and me.

I don't really post reviews but this service really put me on edge. If you have pets, listen up. The beginning of December I had my small dog cremated using their Pet Passages service. The day I took him I was waiting HOURS in my car for someone to come help us when we asked what to do. We were told to wait in our car and someone would come out. From right before 12 pm to 3:50pm it was completely empty, which was odd to me because I've NEVER been to a completely empty funeral home. A floral delivery employee was waiting as well to deliver an order and it took his phone call to figure out why it was really empty. They had ALL left for a funeral and no one told me that can happen here. The florist had the main number and they told him. He was kind enough to let me know. I had called 3 times using this number and apparently they use an answering service for more than 1 place. Which added onto my confusion. It took TWO WEEKS(not one) to get his remains back. I had to call to let them know the first week that I'm picking him up. I get there but the plaque hadn't even arrived yet. The second week I called and they said it was ready but it still wasn't. It wasn't even put on when I let them know I was driving there. They glued it on while I was waiting inside the building. I even had asked for a plaque with his birth/death date yet all it says is his name. I even had to pay extra for the plaque AND it's details. Never would recommend this funeral home for pet owners. Just thankful I have him back and in his wooden box... which was the only upside to this process. I even had doubts he was in there because there isn't a certificate of his death just a paper ID tag number glued underneath. Very poor effort honestly. My buddy has always been family. I expect a funeral/cremation service to treat him as such. Two stars since I did get the nice wooden box and that I still got him back.

I don't have words to describe the service I recieved with Memorial Pet Passages. Called on a weekend about bringing my pet. The woman who answered was flat (emotionless). She explained it was an extra $100 to bring pet on a weekend just because it was a weekend and for processing (didn't make sense but I was in distress). She advises me to call when I arrive so that someone can assist with pet. I arrive, I call, and drive to where advised. We are greated by a man standing at the door. He watches us and asks what size pet from a distance. In the meantime, he watches us struggle to get pet out of our vehicle. Never asks us if we need help. He is also very cold, has a flat affect, and straight to the point. Takes my money, asks me to sign some paperwork. He tells me, we will call you next week. He didn't give me an estimate, didn't tell us much at all about the process. He did say you pick up at main hall. I called earlier in the week and was told it takes 5 business days. I was called later in the week to pick up ashes. Nobody mentioned that main hall would be closed. I arrive to pick up ashes and greated by couple men doing some renovations to main hall and NOBODY else is around. They instruct me to walk down a hall and turn into a darker hallway and find the room with the light. I am than greated by a disheveled woman. She hands me a bag with my pets ashes in a white plastic, box with a sticker. We had a dog cremated at Legacy a few years ago. His ashes were placed in a beautiful ern with the rainbow passage, they assisted me with my pet from my car, they were gentle, kind, and the whole experiece was comforting... at Legacy. Unfortunately, Legacy isn't cremating pets anymore; I called them first. This place doesn't care about you or your beloved pet. I don't think they see pets as beloved family members but dollar signs. I will never do business here again.

1 star only because I can't give zero. They advertise themselves as Memorial Pet Passages, another service Memorial Funeral Home offers, stating on their web site, "We understand the emotional turmoil you must be experiencing..." when in fact nothing could be further from the truth. Contacted regarding our pup's impending death, they were neither understanding nor compassionate. The woman who answered the phone could use a lesson in bedside manners & human relations. You might want to consider the fact that these pet owners calling could also potentially be future funeral home clients, & treat them as such, with respect, dignity, & appreciation for their potential business. Being friendly & personable goes a lot farther than being short & snippety, which is exactly how she came across on the phone. When asked what kind of container our furbaby would be coming home in, her response was perfunctory & quite frankly came across as rude. Additionally, if there was any way to drop our baby off after 5:00, she made no mention of it, only stating someone would be there until 5:00, when it was mentioned our appt with the vet for euthanization wasn't even until after 4:00. Suffice it to say, they did not get our business & I won't be recommending them for pet cremation services to anyone. I do, however, highly recommend Forever Friends Pet Crematorium out of Los Fresnos, which was truly compassionate, caring, met us when we were ready after our pup passed, & returned her home to us in a beautiful urn at no extra charge.

From the start of planning the final arrangements for my grandma who we unfortunately lost to COVID there was a lady who I didn't get her name was rude with my aunts and myself. I called the day before the viewing to ask if they would be able to go live since we knew a lot of people wouldn't attend due to COVID, when I called the lady answered through speaker and she kept telling me she didn't understand my question I asked her takr me off speaker and she tells me in Spanish my phone is broken mijita (very unprofessional), so I asked to be transferred to someone else, at that time the young lady said that they could do a Zoom live. The day of the viewing my mom noticed that the coffin was not the same coffin in which was chosen. The $300 flower arrangement that was placed on top of the coffin through them, the roses were wilted and the arrangement was nowhere near a $300 arrangement. The chapel was not cold at all on that Thursday evening. The pews in which we thought would have been blocked off for social distancing were not blocked off, and yes during this pandemic we know what the right thing to do is social distance but for a family that is mourning that's the last thing someone is thinking. Friday morning the chapel was freezing but by that time my grandma had fluid coming out of the side of her mouth. To top it off when we got there Thursday there just happened to be a lady who walked into the chapel to see her, when the viewing was supposed to be from 4 to 5 for immediate family only, she wasn't even asked if she was family or not. When we saw her for the first time her head was tilted to the side, her hair wasn't even brushed, the corsage that was put on the left side of her dress was a mess, the pin that was put to hold it in place was almost poking her cheek. When my aunt asked for them to fluff up her pillow and fix her head one of the men that was going to do it was NOT wearing gloves. When it was time to head out to the cemetery, it was a rush rush rush, they started taking the flowers out of the chapel while we were still sitting in there, and to top it off they took us on the expressway where drivers are driving like crazy people from Edinburg to Weslaco, that was the worst funeral procession ever. It was horrible and there was only 1 constable helping, another charge for constable guidance and they only provided 1 constable. At the cemetery the lady was in a rush because she had to get to the funeral home for another funeral, the way she told the coworker was just so unprofessional. If we could have done pre-funeral arrangements elsewhere, I am more than 100% sure my mom, aunts, and uncles would have done it but because a salesman sweet talked them into buying a few years back a package through them, that's why they went with Memorial Funeral Home. We had started talking about getting our pre-funeral arrangements through them but NOPE not after the horrible, horrible, horrible experience we had.

Horrible staff. An older gentleman was very disrespectful. Ladies were nice and understanding . The gentleman was rushing our family out. I commented to my family he was rude and he literally said out loud I’m not being rude . We’re a grieving family and you’re saying that out loud trying to argue with an immediate family member . Very disrespectful. Don’t make arrangements at this place if you don’t have to . They have staff like this man that don’t care about the family’s grief .

My family and I will always appreciate all the attention, support, and guidance extended to us during this difficult time by entire staff. The services were excellent and funeral home chapel was beautiful.

Very disappointed. Purchased a cremation policy with 1 hr viewing at their chapel. At the time I got the policy I met with the son of the owner Jasón, and he was nice and polite and promised a 1 hr viewing at their chapel (verbally) in a simple coffin and at the time services got rendered they were apathetic for our loss; they placed the body in the same bed they used to take her from nursing home on a Friday, and not until Monday they allowed us to see the body one last time and it was placed in a small room and no coffin. It was so sad not only because we lost a loved one, but also in the way we got to see her for one last time. The whole family was appalled by the way these people runs their business. It's being two weeks and they're still working on the death certificate! Cremation services are cheaper and unfortunately for many families this is the only way to go, therefore, it's unfair to be promised something when they're trying to make a sale and do another when the services get rendered. I do not recommend this place.

Horrible place to bring your loved ones.. was out of town and couldn't deal with the director face to face . They never gave me any options to set up the service and basicly did what they wanted. They were rude and made it hard to relive stress from the grieving process . Lots of miscommunication from these so called professionals I would not recommend this place to anyone.

I took my baby in to get cremated they told me it will take about a week because they had other pets ahead. A few hours later they called that his ashes were ready. How do I know that really my baby in there. No death certificate or nothing just a box and a tag saying its him.

My mother, Cecilia Labus, recently died and my family asked Memorial Funeral Home in Edinburg to handle the arrangements. All of us were so pleased with the excellent and knowledgeable staff of Memorial Funeral Home. Velma and Leon De Leon have a very kind and courteous staff that did everything possible to make us feel comfortable and ease our sorrow. Thanks Velma and Leon for your ministry and care for those grieving the loss of a loved one.Fr.

I was unable to attend my uncle's funeral due to Covid-19 however my mom and Dad kept praising the staff at Memorial funeral home for all their compassion and professionalism. That in itself made my grief bearable.

I have my dead dog with me hoping to get to your guys to help me but you guys ended up being closed. I thought you guys were a walking funeral home/ crematorium.
