I lost my first dog in June, quite unexpectedly, and he was more than a pet, as he taught me for the first time ever what it meant to be unconditionally loved, how to care for someone else, etc etc, thanks to a lifetime of trauma and abused I somehow survived on my own. The world didnāt know/care that I was technically old enough to know things but had missed out on a lot, and so Toby was the catalyst for learning, healing, and growth, and also became a service dog for me when I had a bad wreck and wound up on fixed income.Money tight and heart bound, I was never āreadyā in many ways to lose my boy, but death comes because as I know well, life has zero āPAUSEā button, and the people who came to liberate my boy from suffering wanted nearly everything Iād saved and that didnāt even include them taking his body. I had heard of Bluebonnet just weeks before, and when I made the call to them to see about prices the woman on the phone was so kind, gentle, and also got business done.My boyās last morning came. He couldnāt be dropped off for some hours due to pre-existing things *I* had to deal with, and given my PTSD, I did what I had to do after being present for Tobyās goodbye, packed him and my other two in the car, and had a friend wait outside with them while I took Toby in. Iām already an emotions on her sleeve kind of person, and so this being my first loss as well as the loss of someone so very close to my heart, Iām sure I was half shut down half beside myself in tears, and by this point in my day, it was mostly due to stress OF the day because I still hadnāt registered that this was it, the last time Iād see my boy in his bodily form, and I hadnāt even had a private, no-dogs-no-humans around moment to myself to say goodbye, and here I was bringing him to be cremated because I couldnāt leave his body to sit all weekend to have more time.I donāt remember which lady I did the business of payment with, but the guy who came to get his body from my car? THANK YOU SO MUCH for your gentleness, kindness! I had to have a neighbor guy help lift him into my car and he was so surprisingly unceremonious about it, the way Bluebonnetās guy helped just so deeply touched me.Though I had to pretty much drive like a bat out of hell to get there in time before closing, the lady who helped me do paperwork ALSO was so so wonderful; she gave me some time alone with Toby, finally, to say my personal, final goodbye to my boy, and words cannot express how greatful I am to her. She also let me break up payment half and half which was an unexpected blessing.I feel like Toby came back to me faster than originally quoted which was a nice surprise in a thing as sucky as death and grief, and the box/papers they gave me were nice, sturdy, sure to last a long time if need be, but they also have other urns and engraving and etc so I may place his ashes in something else in the future. Again upon pickup I sort of lost it, seeing my boyās new form, and again, they let me sit as long as I needed even tho the lady working that day was some other woman, equally as kind. I did speak with some of the other customers coming and going, even a lady with two little kids coming for pickup, and everything was so professional and yet compassionate. The one lady I spoke to said she had a few pets cremated here, and the woman working that day mentioned there was a pastor guy who rescued countless animals, all cremated there across decades.I am very greatful for this business because while Iāve learned I hate the business of death, I have two more dogs still alive for now but aging, and I pray Iāll be able to afford/use Bluebonnet again for when itās their time to cross over.THANK YOU is not enough to all you wonderful people @Bluebonnet, so instead just know I ask the god whom creates such unconditional love in our dogs and yāallās hearts to bless you richly. šš½ In Jesusā name, amen.

Losing my little boy, Venice (13 yrs old), was definitely a loss that hit hard and no one could have prepared me for such pain. When there wasn't clear communication from the vets office about the cremation process or time that it would take, I ended up calling Bluebonnet Pet Crematory myself as I thought I would have my baby with me for my birthday (2/9). Sissy was amazing, her compassion and sincere concern about the miscommunication really helped ease my heartache. He was my first dog and so it was the first time going through this. Sissy reassured me that she would do what she can to make sure I had my little boy with me for my bday. Sissy called me Friday (2/8), he was ready to come home :) I cried sad and happy tears because Bluebonnet Pet Crematory really went out of their way! I made a paw print with a kit I ordered on Amazon, it was depressing when the mold didn't take and he had already passed, it was too late to make another. I couldn't believe it when I opened an additional small box aside from the beautiful urn and saw that they included his paw print and pieces of his coat, it was such an amazing moment! "Thank you" just feels like those words don't measure up to what they were able to do for my fur baby and I. *hugs*

I had to put my Stella to sleep and wasnāt sure how that was handled. I arranged her cremation before I took her to the vet that way I was prepared and knew exactly what was happening with her. Jonathan handled my arrangements and he was so compassionate. I wasnāt able to explain anything without crying and he told me to take however long I needed to explain. My Stella was also referred to as my āloved oneā and it was so comforting. They are very compassionate and understand how our babies are a core piece of our lives. Bluebonnet communicated with me when they picked her up from the vets office as well. Her urn is so beautiful and the card that arrived with her is so beautiful. I will forever be thankful for Bluebonnet handling my baby girl with such love and care.

We unfortunately had to use their services for the second time when our 6 year old Chihuahua Coco suddenly passed away. Dottie and staff were very supportive and compassionate with us through our grief. They are very experienced in honoring our lost pets and have helped us get through this difficult time. We recommend them highly should you ever loose a pet.

I brought my dearly beloved cat Cali here after she had to be euthanized suddenly. The staff I met are so compassionate, kind, and caring. The urn and everything I received back from my cat were beautifully arranged and I feel like my sweet friend's remains were in such good hands. I would recommend anyone seeking to memorialize their pet bring their baby here. You won't regret it. They made a very difficult, dark, and painful time just a little brighter

First experience was good, this one was not. When I dropped our dog off, the lady seemed completely preoccupied. I asked for hair clippings, paw prints, and his name on the box. When I picked him up, I found that they forgot the hair clippings. Not only that, they didn't even attach the name plate to the box, apparently that was too much work. We don't have much to remember our beloved pets, so the clippings would have meant alot to me. No apology, no nothing. She just handed me a copy of the receipt. I will not return.

I like to thank you for giving us our dear beloved buddy to have forever with us. My husband and family are tremendously grateful as it hurts our hearts you have us clarity and peace. Thank you again for taking care of our best friend and bringing him back home to rest with us. Sending many blessing for your thoughtfulness sincerely, Gonzalez family

Lost our dog of 12 years a few days ago and called to make an appointment. The lady we spoke with was extremely professional and very nice. She advised me to just come on in. Went by today with my 2 kids and the 2 ladies that worked there were super sweet and made the process very smooth. I am very happy we went to them to take care of our little Gary.

My daughters guinea pig passed away this morning and my daughter is so heartbroken. Petco told me about Bluebonnet Pet Cemetery and I immediately called. The extremely nice woman on the phone told me to come right in so I did. We were greeted by 2 incredibly nice women that talked so beautifully & passionately with my daughter about her guinea pig. They were both so considerate to my 14 year old daughters pain that it helped to ease my own pain. This is a much better experience than I could have ever imagined, especially since we were going to their establishment full of heartbreak & sorrow. We were even offered 2 books that we could borrow to help us through our lose. The women even provided me with a military discount which was truly unexpected. This will be my first stop from this point forward for any pets that we may lose. Thank you tremendously from the bottoms of my daughter & I's hearts for your sincerity, love, and compassion. ā¤ļø

I called ahead of time to make sure it was okay to bring my sweet girl in for a private cremation. I drove her there after her euthanasia to ensure her cremation would be done in the same day. I really did not want my sweet girl going into the freezer and took extra steps to ensure that wouldnāt happen. I called the next day after dropping her off to check on her and see if I was able to come and pick her up. At that point, after they had assured me the day before that she would be cremated that day, they proceeded to tell me it had not been done. They lied to me about her paw print being done and told me two different stories within about 30 seconds. My sweet girl deserved better than that and I deserved better than that. They were dishonest with me and proceeded to tell me that she wouldnāt be done today either. She would have to wait until Mondayā¦ Which means she would be sitting there in the freezer all weekend long. I told them how disappointed I was with the woman I spoke with... who had arranged her same day cremation the day before. I told them had they been honest with me that they couldnāt get her done I would have taken her somewhere else. At that point, I called another crematory place who truly felt what I was going through. They dropped everything and went and picked up my sweet girl and cremated her the same day. I will never recommend Bluebonnet crematorium ever again. I am so disappointed in their customer service and their lack of compassion for animals and for their pet parents. It truly ruined my day. That was my final wish for her and even though I was assured they would do exactly what they said, they fell short and then tried to make excuses. She had no compassion for what me and my family had been through and no respect for our final wishes for our sweet Carlie. Knowing my concerns and final wishes, they should have let me know the progress and if they were any issues and they didnāt. Absolutely sickening.

I used Bluebonnet's services a year ago when my most beloved cat of 18 years, Spice, passed away. We were at the height of covid uncertainty, and I was a complete wreck from my loss, but all the staff were so attentive and compassionate and the process was extremely easy and affordable. I was about to move across the country within the week and didn't want to leave my baby behind, so they made sure she was ready for me in record time, without any kind of fuss or issue, for which I was so grateful. They also showed lots of respect for Spice. The urn is very nice and I love the paw print impression, and it was all packaged with obvious care and attention. The staff made what was a difficult and devastating time a little easier to bear, and I can look back on Spice's life with the comfort of knowing that she was being cared for until the very end. I'm writing this review a full year later because I'm still very grateful and glad that I found Bluebonnet. Thank you!

Bluebonnet Pet Crematory is an amazing place with sweet people; they make a hard time a little easier. My dog passed away at home and I was not prepared. Bluebonnet had the BEST prices by far. I told them I'd be bringing my dog in but had some difficulties (he was heavier than expected). They close at 5pm, and while they're only 7 minutes away from my house, the GPS said I would get there (finally!) a few minutes past 5pm. I called them and they immediately remembered my prior call and were more than willing to wait for me. They also did the hard work of getting him out. In less than 2 weeks I got my paperwork in the mail about his communal cremation. Losing a pet is hard, but these folks help the process and have the best prices. I know I'll go back to them for the rest of my pets when the time comes.

Our experience with Bluebonnet was beyond exceptional. The staff, especially Judy were very nice and made the process easier. You immediately felt the sense of comfort and love for our Pockets. We were able to go through each step of the process with him and felt at peace at the end. The staff handled our Pockets with care and compassion as if he were their own. I highly recommend their services!

I unexpectedly lost my yorkie of 13 years. My young children and I were absolutely heartbroken. We took our sweet boy to Bluebonnet and immediately upon entering their office, we were greeted by a warm sympathetic staff member. She could see the hurt in all our eyes. She asked who we were bringing her and we told her. She took Derby and asked if we wanted to say a final goodbye. She took our baby to the back and we followed her to the office where she very gently began asking questions about our dog and made sure to help us get everything we wanted from their services. She told us he'd be ready in approx 5-7 days but he was ready in 2. Even her phone call that he was ready to be picked up and brought home was genuine. He came in a beautiful cedar box, with all our requests filled. I highly recommend theor services.

Highly recommend coming here. They are so sweet , kind, and sympathetic .I am beyond happy with my sweet Minnieās paw print and packaging is very heartfelt.

I used them for my dogās cremation and was very pleased with their service. They allowed me to be there for the entire process, which was important to me as I wanted to know the ashes I was getting belonged to my dog and only my dog. After meeting them I would not be apprehensive about that anymore, they are honest people and truly care about the animals they are working with. Also, the price was fair and they were very easy to work with. I plan to use them again when the next sad day arrives that I must.

Ten stars! They treated my baby's remains with such dignity! They had him ready a week earlier than promised. When I went to bring him home, they had carefully wrapped the urn and plaster paw print, in boxes tied with a pretty paw-printed ribbon. While my vet handled everything, and my interaction with staff was minimal, it is clear that they truly care about the work they are doing!

Good morning,I wanted to personally thank Bluebonnet and the two women in the office from the bottom of my heart for the care they provided to us as well as your generosity. We have never had anyone treat us so well. My future wife and myself where so pleased with your service again and where taken back at your generosity in providing us with a beautiful urn for my long time friend Lady Jane. Words cannot express our gratitude, y'all are the best! We will always come back and refer anyone who needs final services for there family friends! Thank you so much! Jeremy and Myranda

The staff at Bluebonnet were compassionate about our misfortune and they handled my son with care. They did not disappoint with his urn and they were very affordable. It was also a nice surprise being greeted by a couple of feline friends!

After 16 Years we recently lost our beloved Dog..It has been difficult to say the least. I cannot express enough how compassionate, caring and understanding the entire staff at Bluebonnet are, their Professionalism is beyond belief. The services they provide are outstanding, priced reasonable, and they will work with you to take care of your Fur Babies needs, in a dignified manner..If you suffer the loss of your Pet, I highly Recommend This Business. The founder, Col.(Ret.) Henry H. McKee whose Idea it was to provide a dignified Manner to remember our Pets would be pleased what his family has carried on..Thank you Bluebonnet.ā„

In the moment when I said good bye to my precious Lil Mama Panda, I was so devastated. My husband made the arrangements and Blue Bonnet handle it all. They are so thoughtful. When he went to bring her home everyone else was in a blue bag. We received her in a white box with a bow. The little things are the things that matter and mean the most. I am so AMAZED on how well they treated my baby girl.

UPDATED REVIEW: Approximately one week after reading my review, Bluebonnet contacted me. They apologized and offered, and gave me my money back. In addition, they offered to take the bone fragments and further process them into actual ashes, and give me my choice of urn, at no additional charge. I haven't decided if I'm going to take them up on that or not, but do appreciate the offer. While there may be some disconnect with the staff at my vet and Bluebonnet, I believe they did their best to make it right.PRIOR REVIEW: My baby Charlie passed on May 4th. My vet, Alamo Feline, contracts Bluebonnet's cremation services. I elected for a private cremation. When I received the remains, I was shocked that I couldn't open the wooden box, because it was screwed shut. I called Bluebonnet, and the lady that answered the phone was rude, and didn't even offer condolences. She simply said - turn it over and notice the screws - you can remove the bottom. Weeks later, when I finally opened it, I disgustingly found a bag of bone fragments - no ashes. I'm not sure if this should also reflect poorly on Alamo Feline, but needless to say, they certainly didn't offer any detailed explanation of what I would receive, or any other potential options. Charlie's brother Zippy passed 6 weeks later, and the Blue Pearl pet hospital uses Heavenly Paws. I also elected for a private cremation. I received a beautiful hinged box, with his name engraved on a name plate, a small bag of his fur, a bag of actual ashes in a velvet draw string bag, a framed clay paw print with a jewel inlaid, a card with his paw print, and an informational brochure about dealing with the loss of a pet. The cost difference appears to be about $70, but well worth it if you loved your pet and want tasteful memories.

Through the years; our furry members of the family pass away as we all do - and our family has always used Bluebonnet. Originally we always went through our veterinarian; however with the crisis of one of our dogs passing away from a bad heart on a Sunday - and the vet's office being closed, we didn't know what to do! Remembering they have always handled our pets cremations we looked them up on Places - and called directly. We left a message as it wasn't business hours and within 20 minutes got a return call. They met us there, and with compassion and care made the arrangements quickly and professionally. Our dog was under 50lbs, so for $110.00 a private cremation was ordered - with a complimentary urn. If over 50lbs we were told $150.00 / anyway the cookie crumbles very affordable - cheaper if you wish to have a communal cremation with the ashes spread in their garden. Give them a call - we highly recommend them. Jennifer and her husband were fantastic and we'll always use them directly as long as we're in the San Antonio area. Furthermore for $40 they offered to pick our pet up. Care, compassion, professionalism - Bluebonnet!

I appreciate the staff and final pet cremation services I received here. They absolutely treated me and my recently passed fur baby with the upmost respect while offering affordable prices. I also enjoyed meeting the friendly office blind kitty, Peter, reminded this location cares about animals and their human families. Thank you

Back on 24 April 2020, my cat ("Baby Girl") had passed away and I immediately called Blue Bonnet Pet Crematory to make arrangements to have her cremated. Because of the Coronavirus outbreak, they couldn't provide pickup, so I took "Baby Girl" over to have the cremation done. The Staff was very, loving and understanding about my loss. There's not enough to say that this company understands the love and loss that people feel for the loss of a pet that was a member of the family. "Baby Girl" was originally my Mother's cat, but before my Mother passed away in February of 2011, I promised to take care of "Baby Girl". Now, "Baby Girl" is with my Mother and I know that I'll see them both again someday. This is the second time that I've used "Blue Bonnet Pet Crematory and there's not enough Thanks for the services that they provide for. Thank you to all the Staff and People that work there.

When I called the receptionist was friendly and understanding. The driver was extremely nice and courteous about picking up Trooper ( my black lab). I had my dog for 12 years so it was a hard time and they were very understanding and made the process easy.

We have lost 2 of our beloved senior pets in the last 4 months. The ladies here are so caring and kind it has been a pleasure speaking with them. They helped us through a very difficult time. Highly recommended! A true blessing.

Such a great company. Called numerous places to pickup my lab Kuma that was 12 years old after he passed away early on a Sunday. Another company gave me the run around and I never heard back. Bluebonnet came and got my lab by noon the day he passed. They where so kind and treated Kuma with such respect!! Thank you Bluebonnet!!

From the minute we walked in the door, Judy took care of us in an incredibly sympathetic, understanding and intuitive way. Judy greatly assuaged my friend's grief over losing a beloved friend and pet. There was no pressure to buy product. My friend was allowed to choose the urn, paw print molds, etc., in a way that was supportive and dignified. But, I was shocked came when the total amount due was presented! Bluebonnet puts other pet cremation services to shame with their reasonable pricing! I will recommend Bluebonnet Pet Crematory to anyone and everyone who is having to go through the heartbreak of laying a pet to rest. Thank you, Bluebonnet, and special thanks to Judy!In Loving Memory of Steeler Brown.

If you're reading these reviews, I'm very sorry for your loss. Our sweet baby Roxy passed away on Oct 11th, 2017. She lived a wonderful 13 years. We live in New Braunfels, but decided to drive to Converse to use this facility instead of the one in town because of the online reviews of each place. We're very glad that we did. They talked us through the process as if Roxy was their own, they referred to her as our baby as we always have, and comforted us as we cried. They really made the entire process so much more bearable. I highly recommend using this place for your lost loved companions.

I started doing crematory research the day Loki was diagnosed with his heart condition, I didn't want to be grieving and make a mistake in taking him somewhere they didn't care about mixing the dogs together and giving you whatever. I'm glad I did, thank God Loki's meds are keeping him with us but sadly, both my mother and my husband and I lost dogs. In my mother's case, she specifically told the vet only to release Ginger to Bluebonnet (otherwise they use one of the ones they get their kickbacks on) and Bluebonnet came and picked Ginger up from the vets on the NW side of SA. A couple of days later we picked Ginger up in Converse, beautiful box, etc., They're good people, not a factory crematory. They picked my babygirl up from my house. You can drop off but really, who wants to drive to Converse while you're sobbing and a mess? Make sure you specifically tell your vet that Bluebonnet is the only one authorized to pick your pet up.

Our sweet Gracie Loo passed away early on the 4th of July. We had no idea what to do. I went to google and Bluebonnet came up. I read the story and liked the idea of supporting ex military. I called and a woman answered. Through my tears I told her that our Gracie had passed and we didn't know what to do. She told me they were closed but if we could Gracie to her, she could take care of the rest. We wrapped Gracie up in a spongebob blanket and drove her to Bluebonnet. The kind woman took us in the office. She let us share stories of our sweet Gracie. She let us cry. When we were ready to give Gracie to her, she held her as if she was holding a loved one of her own. Friday we went to pick her up. Again, she allowed us to cry. She even told my daughter that if we couldn't make it by 5, just let her know and she would wait for us. Lastly, she hugged us on our way out. She made a very difficult and terrible situation bearable.

A truly blessed crematory. Actually, as soon as we walked inside we were practically certain we had made the right choice. The inside of the building, much to our surprise, has more of the cozy decor of a well-loved home for pets than a crematorium, and it was stirring how nostalgic it felt. The staff (who seemed much more like friends by the end of our visit) are pet-lovers and owners, who understood the pain we were going through and had down-to-earth conversations with us that really made us feel consoled in our time of despair. I couldn't have asked for more warm-hearted, sincerely caring people to walk us through our cat's final moments. This 2nd experience I left a message, and someone called me back almost as soon as I hung up the phone.. We are so blessed to have Bluebonnet Crematory in our area, can't imagine what it would be like without them. I have heard horror stories about other pet crematories, basically sloppy work, disregard for what remains go where, etc., so I did my homework before first going to Bluebonnet. Between myself and family members, we've had three dogs cared for by Bluebonnet and I highly recommend them.
Heather Marshall
They were sympathetic and treated my baby girl with love and respect. This is the second pet I have sent to Bluebonnet and will use them again when the time comes. Thank you Bluebonnet for making my loss easier.

When I first picked up what I thought was my dog, I realized that they had not given me the clay pawprint I had requested be made. Upon looking even more, they gave me an empty urn. When I looked at the receipt I realized they had given me the completely wrong dog! Firstly another owner is missing his dog and they were going to give him an empty urn. Secondly, I do not even know if they have my dog still!

Loved the ladies that helped us with our fur baby boy, they were so nice to us, always will recommend this place and will always come back. They have the best prices and the cutest urns.

We just recently lost an important member of our family - a twelve year old short haired grey-ish cat named DeeDee. Bluebonnet Pet Crematory has a great private urn service - picked up his body from our vet and returned his ashes within two weeks in a classic wooden brown box. He is now home with us.

Highly recommend coming here. They are so sweet , kind, and sympathetic .I am beyond happy with my sweet Minnieās paw print and packaging is very heartfelt.
Nicholas Creel

Jeremy Dunn
Good morning,I wanted to personally thank Bluebonnet and the two women in the office from the bottom of my heart for the care they provided to us as well as your generosity. We have never had anyone treat us so well. My future wife and myself where so pleased with your service again and where taken back at your generosity in providing us with a beautiful urn for my long time friend Lady Jane. Words cannot express our gratitude, y'all are the best! We will always come back and refer anyone who needs final services for there family friends! Thank you so much! Jeremy and Myranda

AND THEN SHE drove an hour out of her way AFTER business hours to receive my pet on a Sunday evening.. and seriously nobody does that sort of thing anymore!! There customer service is outstanding!! Truly these guys instantly treated me like I was family.. and when dealing with the loss of a family member, that sort of service goes a long way to help make the situation bareable.. so thank you so much for helping me get thru this experience. You guys are truly special people..

They are extremely nice and thoughtful! They handled our Achilles with the utmost care and love. We were able to be with him through the whole process. Thank you for making this loss a little easier, we are eternally greatful.

We just recently lost an important member of our family - a twelve year old short haired grey-ish cat named DeeDee. Bluebonnet Pet Crematory has a great private urn service - picked up his body from our vet and returned his ashes within two weeks in a classic wooden brown box. He is now home with us.
