I’m so grateful that our family friends referred us to this amazing company. Sadly our dog passed away this Saturday morning and we wanted to find a good place to send her too. The man my mom spoke with was so kind and helpful. He had us come and bring our dog, he was super sweet and made the process for us easier. We got to spend some time with her and were able to say our goodbyes. The staff is so professional and caring, they followed up with us and did everything according to schedule. Today we received our baby girl in beautiful urn and her paw print. I loved everything they did for us especially during a time of need for my family.Thank you,

I am so thankful for pet rest to have cremated my baby boy he was so special to us. The clay paw prints were so beautifully made. Unfortunately I am a little upset that there was no communication on options for Bandit before cremating him. He was cremated separate but we wanted to do a private cremation and there was no call beforehand. We’re still appreciative and thank you for taking care of my boy who unfortunately passed 🙏🏻❤️

Thank you so much for taking care of our beloved Kaiah ! Brittany met us on a Sunday evening. She was so kind and gentle with Kaiah and our son. It was such a smooth process. Mary and Melissa were equally as kind and caring when I picked up Kaiah’s ashes. I’ve utilized Pet Rest’s services 3 times in the last 16-17 years and they continue to exceed my expectations regarding care and compassion. Good JuJu on Y’all !

The staff here at pet rest are so kind and caring for families in this awful situation. They are very sensitive and give you time with your pet until you are ready to let go. They offer complimentary fur clipping which I didn’t realize would be so nice to have after the fact. You don’t pay until pick up which makes a traumatizing situation a bit easier and less cold. My Highland jungle Lynx Cat Tigger passed away. So I researched all the places to have him Cremated. Which I found a few however Pet Rest cemetery & Cremation Service was the one. I took Tigger to because they we're caring, kind people the price was what I could afford. The other places wanted to much just to cremated Tigger. I didn't want a service or anything to put him in. I had that already the other places Like Good Shepherd wanted $225.0O plus taxes that just to have him Cremated and for them just to give him back . Which is ridiculous when you just lost your pet that you've had for 14yrs and you live on disability check .when you're not getting anything thing like a service or urn it's the worst time in your life when you have to keep your cat in wrap in a towel &bag in your freezer until you can find a place so you can bring your baby home my animals are my child. So out of all of these Cremation places #1 is Pet Cremetery & Cremation Service. I know they're good people just by talking to them on the phone very nice and in person made me feel better. Help me a lot so if you ever lose a pet here's the place to bring them. Like I said all the other places were rude to me the money they want was to much if you're broke like we all are now days. Or if your getting paid f from your disability check. This will be where I'll take my 15yr Chihuahua because both my kids will be in my arms when I go to be with them both and the Lord . God lord them for the service they do

The kindness and dignity pet rest showed me was amazing. My 12 year old rescue lovebird was sick his whole life and keeping him happy for as long as I could has been my life's mission for the last 6 years.I was able to meet someone there the very same day, even on a weekend after hours. They were able to keep the ID band that was on my bird's foot, they also made clay and ink prints of his feet (both were optional). Their prices are very affordable too.Thank you for making the worst loss of my life a little bit easier, and giving my precious little bird the respect he deserved.

After losing our 4-legged son it has taken me months to do a review. But I can’t deny this place the review they deserve. I never of would thought that having your pets ashes can be comforting after a loss. If you ever have to experience the unfortunate loss of a pet, I highly recommend this business to handle your pets remains. They are compassionate and everything is handled with reverence. They put our sweet boy in a beautiful box and made us an awesome paw print. Thank you so much for what you do!

Cannot say enough good things about this company. Our Oakley boy passed away on a Saturday, and an employee came out that same day to pick Oakley up. He gave us all the time we needed to say our goodbyes, and was very gentle and respectful, placing him on a stretcher and covering his body with a blanket to bring him to the van. All staff that we spoke with on the phone were very professional and compassionate. Our customized urns, clay paw prints, and ink paw/nose prints came out beautifully. The pricing is very fair compared to other companies in the area as well. Would 10/10 recommend Pet Rest to any pet owner🐾😇

We lost our furbaby Hope. She was only 1. The kindness and compassion shown from this company was extraordinary. I cannot express the gratitude i feel for every single person on the team involved. The only name i caught was Melissa in the office. The driver to pickup and return our Hope was also extraordinary. I'm so glad Pet Rest was recommended. Management has truly picked the most perfect people to represent this company. Thank you too the entire team.

My daughter's 6 year old guinea pig died Monday night. Princess was super special to her and she asked if we could have her cremated. I found several places online, but Pet Rest seemed to be exceptional based on reviews. I also like the amount of thought that was put into the website, including staff information.Tough times always remind me how many great people there are in the world. We were treated extremely well, and you can tell the care and respect the staff has with grieving pet owners.Thank you, Pet Rest! You were above and beyond and we appreciate you and your whole staff.
Candace Fernandez
Will misspell your pets name if you ask for a clay pawprint. Lack of attention to detail as they don’t truly care about you or your deceased pet, only the money they profit from your loss.

I want to express my gratitude to Brian Calhoun of Pet Rest and to Melissa for taking such good care of me and my fur baby Tupac. I had an in home euthanasia and he was there waiting to take my baby afterwards. He showed me and my baby so much respect, compassion and empathy and also allowed me all the time I needed to say goodbye! Thank you again!

Our sweet Isla passed away a month ago. The staff took such amazing care of her. Their compassion towards us and their dedication to this much needed service is incredible. This is the second time we have needed them, and to say they go above and beyond is an understatement. We will be forever grateful.
Alison Abbott
Brian has always taken care of the local community and handled our beloved pup with the utmost care. I would recommend his services to anyone that has lost their fur baby. He went above and beyond to take care of our baby and we couldn’t thank him more for the way he has taken care of us.❤️

I am so pleased with Pet Rest. The staff are warm and compassionate, the prices are very fair. Not only do they pick your baby up but, also brought her remains home. Thank you Pet Rest for caring for my baby Tinkerbelle.

I called Pet Rest afterhours on one of the worst days of my life - we lost our furbaby after 18 years, unexpectedly. I was - needless to say - distraught. The gentleman I spoke with was incredibly comforting, understanding, and helpful. He answered all my questions, met me after hours to drop her off so we could have her cremated, and was incredible throughout the entire process. I am so incredibly grateful for their help and their "bedside manner" during this time. Absolutely top notch customer service.

From speaking on the phone to receiving my fur baby you are able to tell the ultimate care was given and they did just what they said they would do, take compassionate care for my loved one! I truly appreciate this company and their passion for what they do for those in hard times! It made me feel at peace!

We paid for the paw print ornament and it's so sloppy and you can even hang it...thank God the ladies at our vet are the best ever and made some for us or we wouldn't have one, because the one from PR was too disrespectful to look at. I was so disappointed that this place did something that shady...won't ever use them again. The first time we used them, when we got home we opened the cardboard box thinking we'd have an urn. Nope...2 plastic bags of ashes, not something I was prepared to handle. We did receive an urn this time so that was nice. From the other reviews and responses they seem to usually don't have issues.I also noticed other bad reviews that had the same issue, 2 year ago. They're obviously not capable of doing clay paw prints and should let people know to do them beforehand.

We unfortunately, as every pet owner eventually will, lost our almost 15 year old Chihuahua on Monday. After we chose to end her suffering, Pet Rest was brought in via our Vet to handle her cremation services. I spoke with Melissa on Tuesday, and very much appreciate her personable responses. I asked about a specific urn that was of the marble collection to see if they had one that was close to Harlow’s coloration. Melissa went above and beyond what was needed or required - especially in our current world - she hopped off the phone and sent me photos directly of the available urns to ensure that the selected urn was perfect for the circumstances. She also went over the different types of cremations and spoke to me on a person to person, friend to friend level rather than a business simply doing a service. I’m extremely appreciative to the entire team that had this taken care of and allowed me to bring Harlow home in two days time. They are extremely understanding and supportive - I couldn’t be more grateful.

I used this place for my kitty when i was a teenager. And unfortunately, on the Jan 24. I never dealt with them directly in person cuz it was too emotional. But when i called, the lady i spoke to a few rimes(can’t remember her name cuz i was crying each time) was just the sweetest. Very compassionate! She offered for me to come look at urns, but i mentally couldn’t cuz i just had to for my husband. So she helped me navigate the website and pick out what i wanted! I heard the compassion in her voice! I picked my girl up on Monday cuz they said they could take her back to the vet. And it was hard, but knowing she was in good hands helped! I will forever be grateful for the few phone calls i had with this lady! Cuz it’s so hard to come by people that actually care these days! Thank yall so much for taking good care of cali

This is by far the hardest review I have ever written.I lost my dog unexpectedly. Melissa at Pet Rest, was so kind and compassionate. From the moment I first talked to her, until everything was completed. She made me feel better, and assured me that my doggie was in excellent hands. Melissa thank you so much for your compassion. When the time comes, I highly recommend Pet Rest.

Pet rest was wonderful to me and my parents. After our fur baby max died last Thursday after having him for 15 years, the lady who spoke to my father was really kind and sweet, she was patient with me and my mom for picking out necklaces for us and a beautiful urn. What surprised me the most is that they gave us Max's paw prints that was already baked and ready to display in our home.I know other people commented that they got paw prints but they werent baked. THANK YOU PET REST!! love your sweet kitty too he made me feel a little better while I was there with my parents. Will probably use you again in the future! Excellent service and wonderful people. If you need affordable arrangements for your fur babies come to these people! They really care!Love the Riley family <3

Sadly, my sweet little rescue cat passed away on my birthday this year. Of course, I was absolutely heartbroken and completely distraught. To be honest, I have been a mess since the moment I lost my sweet girl. Thankfully, a long time friend from out of state was able to assist me in finding places to cremate her, and landed on Pet Rest. I felt when I looked at their website, and spoke to Jenny on the phone, that I could trust them with my baby. I felt like they cared, and like she really mattered to them. They picked her up and handled her cremation services extremely professionally, and quickly and delivered her ashes back to me with great care.I'm really gonna miss my sweet little Bao. She was my heart and soul, and even though I'm so sad that she is gone, I'm so glad I chose Pet Rest to help send her over the Rainbow Bridge. I love you forever, my sweet little Dumpling. Fly high, little girl <3

Back in February of 2019 I went to an adoption event that was being hosted by Low Country Animal Rescue. There I saw a tiny little toy poodle named Karla. I noticed she was much older than the other dogs, and she seemed to have some health problems as well. I asked about her, and the people there told me that had tracheal collapse, was blind, and had a yeasty skin condition that gave her a musty smell. They also said that they were unsure of her age, but they estimated 12 years or older.I picked her up, and she was very nervous (totally understandable since she was a little blind dog). I overheard the workers say that no one else was interested in her, and I felt a deep pit in my stomach. I just knew then I needed to adopt little Karla. In a few days she grew attached to me, and I was determined to give her as much help as I could (the Animal Dermatology Clinic in Mt. Pleasant were miracle workers). She gave me so much love and joy, but over the years I could tell she was getter older, as she went deaf, and then I noticed a growth on her chest. I took her to the vet, and was told that it was most likely a cancerous tumor. It grew over the years, and her trachea collapse also grew worse. She could hardly get a moment of peace, as she either coughed or tiredly lounged about. Finally, she started having vertigo attacks, and would cry at night. I knew it was time, but was not ready for how sad it would make me feel.On August 30th of 2022, Karla was laid to rest. Pet Rest contacted me two days later and Jenny asked what I wanted Karla's memorial to be. I could hardly get the words out, and blubbered through my request. Jenny was so kind and understanding, patiently listening to my whole story, and shared her story with me about her fur baby, Max. It was very kind and helpful.I couldn't recommend this place enough to handle the remains of your beloved companion pets. Thank you to Jenny and the staff for helping me create a physical memorial. I will always carry Karla in my heart.

We got a recommendation from our Vet to use Pet Rest and I have nothing but good things to say about their service. The gentleman who retrieved our baby was so polite and respectful. I believe his name was Leon. He treated our baby as if she was his. What made it even better was that he drove away slowly with his blinkers on. It was like an actual funeral procession. The office staff was great and even the driver that returned our baby was polite. I would definitely recommend them if you’re thinking about cremating your beloved pet. We just felt like our baby got the send off that she deserved. Thank you for making a difficult time a little easier to get through.

I lost my cat, Louie on 10-21-23. I rescued Louie 18 years ago as a kitten. This cat was an amazing companion, he was truly one of a kind. He became my emotional support animal and remained loyal through the many chapters of my broken life. The time came to say goodbye. Louie was taken to the vet for euthanasia. I made it very clear at the vet that I wanted Louie to be a private cremation. I said it multiple times to the tech and vet. A few days had gone by and I had heard nothing from the vet or PetRest about Louie getting picked up. I called PetRest to clarify Louie being picked up and having a private cremation. I was informed that he had a separate cremation, not a private. Long story short, the vet dropped the ball with the communication. I truly was devastated. But the kind people at PetRest were very caring and reassuring to me about the ashes I would receive. I truly can't tell you how much this meant to me. Thank you for treating my fur baby with dignity and respect.

There is no other service like this anywhere I have found. They have helped me get through loss of beloved pets since 2006. Do not hesitate to call them in your hour of need. Very compassionate staff, good pricing.

I am so thankful to Pet Rest for being there after we lost our precious girl. I was completely beside myself when I called for their services, but they were so patient and kind and helpful through the process. They came out very quickly to pick her up and even asked about her a bit. It was a very hard day and I am so grateful for their kindness and services.

Yesterday my family and I lost our young basset hound after an illness. I called Pet Rest and spoke with Karen. We made arrangements for them to pick up Lucy Lu from our home and complete the cremation. She said they would call us in a couple days to pick her up. Jay arrived within an hour to pick her up at our home. I communicated with Brian via email and Melissa on the phone when they called to let us know just 24 hours after pick up that she was ready to come back home. The care, sympathy and compassion they all shared with us was actually more sincere than recent interactions I had with a human funeral home. We cannot thank this amazing team for helping us on one of our worst days!

What an amazing place. The kindness and compassion shown at every step of the way made the whole process easier! They came and took our boy within an hour of calling and were so comforting. Then, after the cremation they brought him home to me in a beautiful mahogany urn.

The people I spoke with on the phone were super nice and helpful. The lady I spoke with even sent me a picture of the urn I was interested in for my baby to confirm which I wanted.Only two things to note: 1) If there is anything extra you asked for at your vet, call before hand. By the time they reach out it will be too late. This isn't a fault of theirs, but even if your grieving call and make sure everything you asked for is there. :)2) The paw prints do not come finished/baked. I wasn't aware of this as the company my other vet uses baked thiers ahead of time. The clay may bend or warp in the bag. Also, the paw print was dirty as another review said. I'm still happy I got a paw print, but just be aware it isn't baked and it may not be a clean print. The people were very nice and honestly seemed liked they cared about you and your baby. So thumbs up for that!!!

If I could give more than five stars I would. Pet rest is amazing! I lost my bunny Dank to pneumonia on the way to the second vet two hours away, it was very hard, that bunny saved my life before. They were so kind and respectful to me and my bunny. I got her ashes and cute little clay paw prints. I don’t remember who I talked to one the phone about her but I wish I knew her name because she was so sweet and kind. Thank you so much for everything!

My sweet boy Romeo passed away peacefully on Wednesday night. I was called on Friday afternoon already told that my baby's remains were ready and would be transported back to the vet for pickup on Monday. The woman on the phone (Jen) was so kind and comforting, and their service was so quick. I feel slightly better knowing that I was able to afford to have him cremated and will be able to keep him with me forever. The prices are extremely affordable. I highly recommend this service. Thank you, Pet Rest. You've given me a little bit of relief from the constant grief I've dealt with in the last 48 hours.

I wrote a negative review, since my dog was cremated before they did a paw print or a lock of his hair, and I place blame on both my vet and Petrest. I will however say with this mistake being made, that Jenny was very compassionate and understanding of the mistake. Brian also reached out to me apologizing of the mistake made and he is making it as right as he can. I will still use this company in the future, as they were very professional in handling the mistake made and did not once get defensive as my vet did just a tad. Thank you Brian and Jenny. You both are definitely in the right field with your caring attitudes and I 100% appreciate it. This field needs more people like you two.

Pet rest was most respectful when picking up our large dog at his death. I filled out paperwork stating I did want a paw print. They returned my dog in the nice cedar box I had chosen but his paw print was in a zip lock bag and had not been baked!! When I asked about this they said they did not have an oven. It was already a bit distorted and I baked it at once but they didn’t provide anything to store this precious remembrance in. I would suggest that if you can’t return a finished product to a customer just discontinue the service. My last paw print was returned to me from another provider already baked, in a nice tule bag with ribbon drawstring and was easily displayed along with the urn we received .I suggested that at the least , customers should be notified at the beginning of the process that the paw print they receive will have to be baked by the grieving family before storing or displaying.

After losing my best friend for 13 1/2 years Pet Rest showed us compassion and took such good care of my fur baby. Thank you Johnny for the love you give to our rainbow bridge fur babies. Forever grateful!

I am so pleased with Pet Rest. The staff are warm and compassionate, the prices are very fair. Not only do they pick your baby up but, also brought her remains home. Thank you Pet Rest for caring for my baby Tinkerbelle.

Thank you once again! These people have cremated 2 of my fur babies. They are affordable & very kind & down to earth type of people. They made a ceramic paw print of both of my dogs for me. I wouldn't recommend having your pet cremated through the veterinarians office if you have a choice. I'm not 100% sure but it always seems to cost more. I was able to bring my dogs here both times.

When we lost our beloved dog far sooner than anticipated, we were overcome with a grief that’s impossible to describe.Of all the things we are immensely grateful to you for— your empathy, responsiveness, kindness, professionalism, attentiveness, efficiency, experience, competence, intuitive understanding of our needs, respecting the way we wanted her body and burial to honor the love she gave us while she was alive—by far the biggest gift you gave us that we will treasure and will provide comfort for the rest of our lives is peace of mind. From that very first phone call to you I absolutely dreaded making, up to the unbelievably selfless and kind gesture of attending her funeral, you understood how much pain we were in. And you made everything as effortless and painless as they could possibly be by taking initiative and going above and beyond to ensure everything was done exactly to our standards and requests. You made this final part of her journey peaceful and respectful. We will always remember you for that.Brian, it was a special bonus that having worked in human funeral homes for so many years you were familiar with and extremely respectful of the customs of our less well-known culture. The cemetery itself is lovely especially under that live oak tree that will protect her from the rain and sun. And I’m positive she will really get a kick out of being surrounded by such an exciting variety of other animals—Bears! Bison! Horses and rabbits! Finally, thank you for having reasonable pricing and not doing any completely inappropriate and hurtful upselling.PetRest made the very heartbreaking process of giving our dog her final forever home as easy, peaceful and respectful as it could possibly be. Thank you!

I called ahead for cremation and she asked for my info over phone. I walked in and she said unable to produce receipt now so she wrote my credit card info down and threw onto her desk and showed me out door. Few days later I got certification. She misspelled my pet's name. Only 4 letters in name! Why didn't she spell it back to confirm spelling? That should've been taught first day on the job. I also received two different invoices showing a balance was due on each numbered invoice but one of the invoices had the credit card receipt attached! I was shocked at the chaos and the lack of professionalism at this place. They can do better than this.

We lost our dear Lucy at home this past week. Although she was twelve, we still did not expect her to pass away this week. We called another company in the Charleston area, and they were extremely concerned about the money for their services and not our super recent loss. From the first phone call to our most recent interaction with the staff at Pet Rest, the process was handled beautifully with dignity and respect for our beloved family member. My family and I have absolutely nothing negative to say about Pet Rest. If you are in the need of their services, I highly recommend Pet Rest as they will treat your pet's last moments with the compassion and care that we would all want for our own family members.

Our Bella passed away over a year ago now, and our children still talk about the process of getting her ashes and spreading them at her favorite park. Thank you to the kind and comforting staff at Pet Rest - y'all really went above and beyond for our whole family. When we had to make the call at the emergency vet, even the vet tech said that they really appreciated this company's service to the community and that they are really professional and easy to work with. Thanks again.
Becky McCullen
The staff is very nice and compassionate while dealing with something so delicate. The prints were nicely done.

There was some minor miscommunication on our beloved dog’s cremation, but Brian called me and reassured me that we were not too late in getting some of the memorial keepsakes we really wanted and thought we’d never get, and I am SO thankful for that. He personally sent me photos of the paw print in plaster and in ink, and it immediately put my mind at ease. This experience has been such an emotional rollercoaster that I just wasn’t ready for, but pet rest made sure we got everything we wanted, and even listened to some of our experiences we had over the weekend during the process. Thank you guys so much for handling such a heartbreaking situation with love and compassion!

I was just notified that my little Meg was picked up. I was told the driver was very gentle and respectful. I sincerely thank you for that. 💔. My Meg was bottle fed when she was born (in NJ) because her mom wasn’t well. That precious girl made it all the way to SC with a horrible stop in VA (abusive ex). She has been my best friend for 16 years and I’ll miss her until the day we are united. THANK YOU for taking such great care of her after she crossed over. 💔🐾
Natasha Adams
Was very supportive very caring and very nice and they are so sweet I'm thankful for what they did for my 17 year old Chihuahua that was my grandmother's then my sister had her and then I took over cause my sister had a full time job and she needed love and affection but she was our baby or ole granny as some of them called her

Wonderful service they provide as I emotionally couldn’t dig a hole and bury him. Even had a private room with him for my daughters to come meet me and say bye at no extra charge. They were both away at college. Our Buddy died on the way to the vet in the morning. They carried him into the building for me. Lovely lady at the front reception area.... put me to ease.I read the 2 negative reviews. They obviously had their own issues. You cannot knock these folks. They are gracious and I’m pretty sure it’s not that hard to keep cremains separate and accounted for. You pick and pay for what urn you’d like.

Cremated our pet when we told them we wanted him buried. They have no heart. They are blatant liars. Never go here.
Kelsey Futeral
The people at Pet Rest are absolutely wonderful. We have unfortunately had to use their services four times in the past two years. The pick up and drop off services from home or from a vet's office make the process easier from an emotional standpoint. We had our last dog, Eddie, euthanized at home. He was over 100lbs. When I called to make the arrangements, they were incredibly accommodating. I was so worried that we would have to help transport Eddie's body to the Pet Rest truck, but they sent two wonderfully polite and kind gentlemen who waited outside until we were ready for Eddie to go. They brought a stretcher and a nice, clean quilt to cover him with. They gave us all the time we needed to say our final goodbyes when Eddie was in the truck for one last car ride.I can't overstate how respectful and kind the entire staff is. We have spread our kids' ashes, so opt for a plastic urn. The urn comes in a little brown paper bag with a certificate with the pet's name and date of cremation as well as information on pet loss support meetings. There are various options for services if your budget doesn't allow for private cremation and return of your pets ashes.I cannot recommend Pet Rest highly enough for when the most difficult day comes for you and your pet.

We were devastated when our 12 year old cat, Oscar, passed away August 27, 2021. Pet Rest was recommended by a local vet hospital. They were compassionate, explained the choices and costs related to each type of cremation. I selected the most beautiful urn with all kinds of different cats playing on the urn. We are so thankful for all you did. ❤

When our beloved family dog became ill and died we were devastated. We decided to take her to Pet Rest for cremation. We were treated with kindness and respect for our love for our dog. It didn't feel like a business transaction but like she really was being cared for by people who empathized with our pain and respected the life we were saying goodbye to. We had her back home within 24 hours and they even managed to get a fur clipping when I realized I forgot to. I would recommend Pet Rest to anyone.

Pet Rest came to pick up our great Dane at our house, they cremated him. When the gentleman picked him up my son had to help him carry my pup as he weighed quite a bit. When the gentleman pick tuxedo up we asked that we get his halter back that he had on. It was a nice halter, but it had sentimental value for us. When I went to pick up tuxedo‘s remains the halter was not with him, I called immediately and was told I would be given a call back after the gentleman checked into it. I sent a follow up email voicing my concerns and was told that I would be given a call back the following Monday after this person checked into it. Not only did I not get a call, nor did I get an email. (It’s been two weeks)I think it’s hard enough to have to deal with the loss of a pet, family member really. But when you’re told that there would be a follow up callWell, that’s unacceptable, I am a reasonable person and I do realize that people do make mistakes. But ignoring your customer especially with a sensitive subject like this is unacceptable. I would not recommend them to anybody.

Unfortunately, our sweet pug passed away on Thanksgiving this year. It was hard to find a place that was even open in Charleston in the evening on a Holiday. Leon went above and beyond comforting us in one of the worst moments of losing a furry family member and helping us. I hate the circumstances of having to write this review and losing my buddy, but this business definitely helped us at such a vulnerable time. Also, after receiving our ashes, they tucked away resources for grieving a pet and support groups for those who may need it. Thank you guys for everything, I highly recommend this business!

Its taken me a long time to write this because it was so painful. While visiting in Charleston last November, my heart dog died very unexpectedly. The vet I had taken her to recommended Pet Rest for her cremation with return of cremains. I had by sweet girl picked up at the vets office, with cremation to take place over the next couple of days. I called Pet Rest in an effort to insure that I would indeed receive my pet's cremains and no one elses, I was assured they had a detailed system to insure this. When I went to pick up my baby's cremains, there was no tag or number or anything to identify that I was indeed getting the remains of my dog. When I asked about it, I was just told how long they had been in business and their steller reputation. Nothing about how they track each individual pet through their process, no identifying numbered metal tag, just 'take our word for it, you're getting back your pet'. At this point, what can you say? I had paid for a separated cremation! I received a paper bag with a certificate and a cheap plastic snap top box inside. When I got home, there was a small plastic baggie with a twist tie inside the cheap plastic box :-(. While my dog wasn't a big dog, there weren't enough ashes that it could have been all of her even if the bones and teeth had been ground to dust. I honestly believe they just threw my beloved dog in a pile and scooped out what they thought was the right amount after a communal cremation and grinding of the bones. If they indeed cremated her at all. It still hurts my heart to think of how my sweet heart dog was probably treated after I left her at an unknown vets office. I should have known better, but I trusted people to care for my baby the way I had, and I was wrong.ASK QUESTIONS before you leave your beloved pet anywhere to be cremated! MAKE SURE that there is a tracking system in place that uses metal tags just like human crematoriums. If you can find a place with cameras inside the crematorium so that you can see whats going on, even better.

Through this extremely trying time, Lauren, from the initial phone call to the final seconds of my buddy Gonzo's time, was the most compassionate, caring, and professional person I've known. She never once gave me any impression that it was just her job or that she was in a hurry, but took her time to carefully let me know what, how, and when the steps of the process went. She lay with my sweet dog as he was gently put to sleep and finally escaped this earth. Again, thank you for being there. Tracy Haselden and Family.

Our not too Little Pomeranian Tiger went to Doggie Heaven to join 2 of his Sister Moka a Nuwfe and Bella a Thiszu will be together. My rating is a 10 plus. Many Thanks Pet Rest for your Service.

Pet Rest did such a wonderful job with the cremation of sweet Earl after an unexpected loss. We had them pick him up at home, and the man who picked him up was so respectful, courteous, and made the process so gentle. They were beyond prompt and had someone there within an hour of getting our call. Everyone on the phone was wonderful. Thank you all 💓

Kyrsta Carroll

Kristin Turner
What an amazing place. The kindness and compassion shown at every step of the way made the whole process easier! They came and took our boy within an hour of calling and were so comforting. Then, after the cremation they brought him home to me in a beautiful mahogany urn.
Kelsey Bishop
Mary Martin
If I could give more than five stars I would. Pet rest is amazing! I lost my bunny Dank to pneumonia on the way to the second vet two hours away, it was very hard, that bunny saved my life before. They were so kind and respectful to me and my bunny. I got her ashes and cute little clay paw prints. I don’t remember who I talked to one the phone about her but I wish I knew her name because she was so sweet and kind. Thank you so much for everything!
Hannah Nolberto
My sweet boy Romeo passed away peacefully on Wednesday night. I was called on Friday afternoon already told that my baby's remains were ready and would be transported back to the vet for pickup on Monday. The woman on the phone (Jen) was so kind and comforting, and their service was so quick. I feel slightly better knowing that I was able to afford to have him cremated and will be able to keep him with me forever. The prices are extremely affordable. I highly recommend this service. Thank you, Pet Rest. You've given me a little bit of relief from the constant grief I've dealt with in the last 48 hours.
Allyson Williamson
Margaret Burwell

On 6-17-2022 our dog Max was put down at Oakbrook Veterinarian Clinic. We were told Pet Rest would be giving us a call to find out what our wishes for Max were. They took down my phone number and we were told they would be calling us that day. No one ever called us so at 6:20 PM my mom called. The first time she called a man answered and hung up so she called again. The man did not say his name but he answered again. My mom told him Max had been put down - he asked her if he was a small dog and how much did he weigh? She told him he was a toy poodle and weighed 10 pounds. He asked what our dogs name was and my mom said his name was Max. She told him she wanted to talk to them about the urn, paw prints and clay paw, etc and he said the ladies won't be back in the office until Monday or Tuesday and Max would be in good hands and nothing would be done with him until they spoke with us. Monday we called as soon as they were open and were shocked to find out he had been cremated. We asked to speak to a manager. The first woman said Brian was the manager but transferred us to Mary, the office manager. Mary said there was no man working there on Friday which was a lie. My sister Sarah also called and Mary lied on the phone and talked in circles the entire time. Its great that you have beeen in business for 38 years or however how long but if you have been a business for this long, something should be in place so that this doesn't happen. Also when someone is upset because they will never have pieces of their family member that they were told they would have, it probably isn't the best thing to say oh well we have been in business 38 years. There are mutiple reviews of this happening on your Facebook and google. Do better as a company. Also to still charge my mom is absolutely insane. Max was a family member. We loved him for all of his 15 and a half years. We will never have his paw prints to remember him by and we will ALWAYS be hurt by this as a family. When when we received Max's ashes on Monday the creamation certificate said he was creamated on Sunday 6/19. DO BETTER.

Losing my pup of 14 1/2 years was the hardest thing ever. When Pet Rest contacted me they were so caring, respectful and compassionate. If you find yourself in the unfortunate circumstance of needing to say goodbye to a furry family member, I highly recommend them.

So I recently had my cat scuba put down and he was sent to pet rest, service was fine but what I came here to say is that I was up charged a medium Indian wood box, scuba was a small cat and I had asked for a medium box to store memorabilia in it with him, not knowing it couldn’t be opened. Which is a mistake on my part but I explained to the lady over the phone I wanted to put something in the box and she didn’t inform me it couldn’t be opened. I could’ve gotten a smaller box, just wish she would’ve told me.
Meredith Compton
Losing a pet is nothing short of heartbreaking. When Pet Rest called me, they were very comforting and assuring. In such a difficult time, I felt I could count on them to get my Sammy back to me. They were wonderful!

My dog died at home this evening. I looked up Pet Rests 24/7 service line that is publicly listed on their website. I called and Left several messages over a period of 2 hours with zero response from pet rest. The message says they return calls at 7am. I don’t know if it’s safe to leave my dogs dead body laying for 10 straight hours but I guess it’s safe according to Pet rest. Thankfully I found another cremation service that called me promptly back and is coming to pick up my dog. Pet Rest made an extremely difficult time even harder.

Thank you Jenny for consoling me after the loss of my 21 year old kitty. It means so much to have a little piece of your beloved pet and this company has been providing this comfort for decades. They truly understand how much these fur babies mean to us.

Highly recommend!! My Harley passed away on Sunday and they met us there and we have our baby home not even 5 days later! They were very sweet and very caring!

Thank you for bringing Barkley back to me quickly, and for making his clay paw imprint and an ink print. They brought him to our regular vet, close to my house. I was able to pick him up that day. He was back home in 48 hours.

This business it "top notch". They handled my dogs remains with compassion and dignity. The gave me all the options and even pointed me to a lower cost option than I originally requested. Very honest people. I will definitely use them again in the future when one of my four legged family members goes to the rainbow bridge.
Tammy Scrimgeour

Was very supportive very caring and very nice and they are so sweet I'm thankful for what they did for my 17 year old Chihuahua that was my grandmother's then my sister had her and then I took over cause my sister had a full time job and she needed love and affection but she was our baby or ole granny as some of them called her
M. Z.

This facility made an already tragic situation worse. The people we dealt with were rude and cold. Its obvious they are banking on the fact that people are in vulnerable state of mind and wil try to get you to spend as much money as possible. My advice is if you know you have to make arrangements for your fur baby in the near future, I know its painful, but do some reseach and find a place that actually cares and understands how painful this is. Granted, I understand it is a business but the attitudes of these folks were just that "business as usual"

We have always been treated well by Pet Rest. We began using them in the mid 1990's. They are the best. Thank goodness there is a place like this in the Charleston area.

Denise Giffin

PLEASE CHOOSE ANY PLACE BUT THIS ONE. THEY PROMISED ME THEY WOULD TAKE CARE OF MY PET. I TOLD THEM I WANTED HIS PRINTS AND THEY BURNED HIM WITHOUT DOING IT WHEN I WAS TOLD IT WOULD BE DONE. NOW I DONT HAVE THAT KEEPSAKE OF MY BABY. THIS PLACE IS INCOMPETENT AND SHOULD NOT BE RESPONSIBLE FOR ANYONES PET.
