This place used to be Pet Memorial Services until Abbey Glen bought them out a few years ago. They are a privately-owned New Jersey corporation with multiple locations in NJ and PA that buys up local pet aftercare businesses, jacks up prices, and partners with certain veterinarians to funnel them business. Corporate America at its finest - taking advantage of people at their most vulnerable times. In the 25 years I've been rescuing cats, my girlfriend and I had around 20 cats cremated at Pet Memorial Services, and even my largest cats never cost more than $340 for a private, attended cremation. When I called Abbey Glen earlier this week asking about cremation for my little 7 lb. Liesl I was given a price well over $600. I don't even remember what came after the '6' I was so stunned to hear the price. She told me the price would be lower if my vet was one of their 'partners' but didn't say what that would be, and it didn't matter because my vet wasn't.A quick search turned up at least two pet cremation businesses in the West Chester/Chadds Ford/Wilmington area that are locally-owned, charge about half of what this place does, and don't require your vet to be part of their little preferred provider club to get a fair price. The place I chose charged $280 total for a private attended cremation and a nice rosewood box for the ashes. There are some human funeral homes that do pet cremations that also came up in the search. There are better choices for pet cremation in this area that are truly locally-owned, charge far less, and don't have the negative reviews for botched paw prints, name-plate misspellings, and ridiculous prices that this place does. Where I went, every one of their 110 reviews was five stars. This place doesn't deserve your business.

Disappointed. We received our paw prints back after the cremation of our dog, and they look absolutely nothing like our dog's prints. They look like cookie cutter stamps. The nails don't match or the size. All our friends have been shocked to see the prints, and their first comments are that they can't be our dog's and that they look fake. We have many paw prints from our other pets, and the ones from Abby Glen stand out like a sore thumb. They charged almost $40 for an ink nose print on an index card that probably cost a dime to make. VCA could do much better in their choice for cremation location. We are terribly disappointed and sad. We will definitely not trust them in the future for our pet's final needs.

I was just reviewing Abbey Glen Pet Aftercare and it brought back terrible memories!! I lost my dearest little blind diabetic buddy of 16.5 years in November and trusted his remains with Abbey Glen. They were a complete disappointment!!! I paid for 2 casts of his paw print that was completely a fake! They were identical. It was nothing like his 10 pound body paw print!!! It was way too big!!!I have included a picture of what they sent. Not even close to my buddy. I could not trim his nails for the last year of his life so they were very very long. Notice on my picture how perfect his cast and nails are. IMPOSSIBLE!!!!They stole my last memory of him. I also paid a ton of money for a nose print!!! Shame on them again for charging almost $40 for a black print of a dog’s nose on an index card!!Shame on them!!! I’m not sure how they can sleep at night while stealing the last memories people have of their pet!!!I have talked to my vet about not using Abbey Glen Pet Aftercare for their terrible service!!!Please do not use Abbey Glen Pet Aftercare for your pets final handling. I do not trust them !!SHAME ON THEM FOR ROBBING ME OF MY LITTLE BUDDY’S ENDING!!!

My rabbit recently passed away, and I contacted Abbey Glen in West Chester for cremation services. Sam, a manager there, was exceptional—she patiently and compassionately guided me through the process. Within just a few days, I received my rabbit's remains, along with a beautiful clay print of her nose and paw, as well as an ink paw print, all clearly crafted with great care. The packaging was meticulous, showing the respect and dedication they put into their work. Their professionalism and kindness made a significant difference during a very difficult time, and I highly recommend their pet memorial services for when that moment comes for other pet parents.
