I recently completed the services for a third family member using the Groff Funeral Home and Crematory in Sandusky. The entire staff at Groff's could not have been more accommodating or professional. I dealt with Haley for the most part, but also with Kara the President of Groff's. Their understanding, compassion, concern, and attention to details is wonderful. There is a reason that they are so well respected in the community. When dealing with people at a most difficult time in their lives, they understand and go the extra mile to make sure things are done accurately and professionally. What a comfort to know that your loved one and the details of their funeral or cremation are being handled by caring professionals. Our family has been most satisfied in every respect and every detail. Thanks to all! Bill Rudy

I became in need of services very unexpectedly.Best experience I have ever had with a funeral home in my entire life.they were great.their Sandusky facilities are so nice and clean and just doesn't even feel like you are in a funeral home.And they made my loved one look amazing.better than when he was alive.he would have gotten a kick out of that.i will remember Groffs if I need their services again ,and instruct my family to do the same in the event I pass on.Thank you Kara, Hayley and Curt for all you did to meet the needs of my grieving family.We are grateful.

I can not say enough about our experience with Groff Funeral home, they took care of my Mom as well as my Dad now. Drew and the staff went above and beyond in my opinion working with us to get my Dad back from Florida after his death. They took the time with my wife and I, walked us through every thing, and as soon as the paper work was in from Florida Drew was on the phone with us so we could move forward with closing my Dads affair's in Florida. The service for my Dad was great.Thank you so much for all your help.

We were very pleased with the care, professionalism, and customer service that we recently received from Groff Funeral Home. Our loved one had to be brought home from Cleveland, and Groff took care of all arrangements for us - from helping put the obituary together to transporting our loved one and helping us as we said our final farewells. Mr. Jenkins and Mr. Kresser were most helpful in helping us make the necessary arrangements, and the ladies at the Remembrance Center were so patient and helpful in answering all our questions. We can't thank them enough for all they did to help us!

At such an unfortunate time in my family’s lives, the staff at Groff’s funeral home was amazing; the compassion shown from each of them was so comforting. Jim, who personally guided me through the process, couldn’t have been any more patient and kind. He explained everything clearly and didn’t try to sway my decisions in any way.Blessings to you all. As a pastor, I have experienced a variety of funeral homes. The staff at Groff are always professional, caring, and easy to work with. They have even welcomed kids and given them a tour so they could be more comfortable during a difficult time.

I lost my dog Pixie last fall and it was very hard on me. Jacque and Kara where great to work with! Their communication during that time along with the compassion they had was amazing! From the beginning they put our Needs First and made sure everything was possible . Kyle went above and beyond during the showing . He would periodically check on me to see if I was ok. Shortly before Thanksgiving, my grandfather passed away unexpectedly. Due to the fact that my mother lives out of state, I handled a lot of the calls for her so that she didn't have to worry about it. The person we dealt with was unbelievably rude and unprofessional. I had called and set an appointment for the following morning for my mother to view the body and say her good-byes to her father. Later that evening, I got a phone call from the hospital letting me know that he was an organ donor and that if I had made arrangements, they might be delayed. This was perfectly understandable, and so I called the funeral home back in the morning to see if our appointment time needed to be adjusted. I was told absolutely not, viewing him would be absolutely no problem and to still come in. I get my mother there about two hours after verifying our appointment, only to find it was a trick to get us in. His body was not there, and had only just left Cleveland Ohio. The director told me he didn't want to cancel our appointment because nobody else in the family had yet to assist him in making the arrangements. We would have absolutely answered his questions, but this appointment was to view the body. Instead of seeing her father, we were herded into a room and did our best to answer questions we weren't prepared for. At this point, he had been gone less than 24 hours. We were pushed to leave and come back at a later time to actually view the body, and told over and over that nothing would be done for days yet, and to slow down and take a breath, there was time to handle everything. I spent the remainder of that day assisting my grandmother, as she had just watched her husband die. Before I left for the evening, she asked me to make an appointment because she thought she needed to see him once more before cremation, as she had only seen him in the hospital. I called the next morning (less than 48 hours after he passed) and was told "we can't have people coming in and out of here like that, if she wanted to see him she should have done so yesterday" in an extremely aggressive voice. We were told to take our time and not rush it just the evening before. There was no in and out, my mother went to say her good-byes once. To my knowledge, no one else did. I had to go back and tell my grandmother that the funeral home said she couldn't see him one last time.John, the director who "helped us", made an already unbearable situation so much harder to handle.

I want to comment on the professionalism displayed by Kurt and staff at Groff, their character, presentation of the details prior to the funeral, the co-ordination of events the day of the funeral and the compassion displayed throughout. It meant a lot to my family and those in attendance.
