Jim and all of the staff were very professional.They treated us with kindness, compassion and patience. They handled every detail for us as we were grieving and needed guidance. Although this is never an easy process they made it much more bearable by walking us through each step and helping us with the very hard decisions. We can tell that they truly care about us.

Skillman, McDonald & Vernon Funeral Home handled the funeral of our mother. They made sure every detail was taken care of respectfully and with every curtesy extended to our family. Details we expected to be responsible for was taken care of by the funeral staff. We were very appreciative of not having to take care of these details. They followed up with us after the funeral to make surewe were ok. Could not have asked for any better experience with the funeral of our mother.

I could not have asked for a better experience during this difficult time. Vernon’s was amazing from the very start of the planning for mom’s funeral. The entire staff was great and so caring. I found peace in knowing my mom was taken care of and her wishes were carried out perfectly.

Dealing with the loss of my father and the shock and uncertainty of it all was something I didn't think I was going to be able to deal with. When I spoke with Colin at the Mechanicsburg location and began the process that fear was immediately relieved. It was an easy stress free process and at no point did I feel pressured or as though I was being sold something I didn't want. At the end of it all, we had a beautiful service and in sharing the experiences with friends and family that had gone through it before, I was informed the price was unbelievable fair. If I could give 6 stars I would.

I can't say enough good things about everyone here. They are simply the best. Everyone you interact with genuinely cares about you and your loved one. They do their best to make you comfortable and ensure you understand the process start to finish. They recently handheld my mother's services in addition to 7 other generations of my family. You are truly in the best hands when you come here.

Everyone our family dealt with were so kind, efficient and patient. All of our wishes, as well as Judy's, were met. They made a difficult time easier. Our family has used this funeral home for years, unfortunately, for several family members. They do a wonderful job.

When you lose a loved one, the last thing you want to do is plan a funeral. I have experienced great compassion and comfort with my husband's family and their losses, but when I recently lost my Dad, I knew that from experience that this would be the best place for him as we prepared to say our final good-byes. Tammy and Dave Vernon were so helpful and showed my Mom and I such great kindness during such a difficult time. You can tell that they really care about each and every family that walks through the door. They make sure that everything is perfect for your loved one and that everything is to your liking. Not only did we work hand in hand with Tammy and Dave, but we also had the great pleasure of working with Cody and Bailey. Cody transported my Dad to the cemetery and made sure that we were aware that things would be handled in a proper manner and that he would stay there until the burial was complete. We ended up staying there and watching the burial because I wanted to make sure that after all of his years of taking care of me as a child that he was in return treated the same way and that was with someone with a gentle hand and a big heart. Cody provided that reassurance and so did the folks at the cemetery. So, from the bottom of my heart, I wish to express that this Funeral Home is by far the best that I have ever had to work with. They truly are wonderful in every sense of the word.

Very visitor friendly. Plenty of seating, tissues, water, coffee, & etc for the comfort of the bereaved. Helpful staff, willing to answer questions, & to easily keep visitors to the phases of funeral progress in a timely, courteous manner.
