Customer Reviews Summary
Southeastern Pet Cremation has received overwhelmingly positive feedback for their compassionate service and attention to detail during a difficult time for pet owners. Many customers appreciated the beautiful urns, paw prints, and the respectful handling of their pets' remains. However, there are significant concerns regarding the transportation methods used, with multiple reviews highlighting instances where pets were placed in the back of pickup trucks, leading to feelings of disrespect and disappointment.

I am beyond amazed and very well pleased on how Southeastern Pet Cremation handled our loss of our dearest and loved 18 year old Chloe. I had no idea of the process or what to expect when the vet called me to pick up Chloe's cremations today. However, when I saw inside the mint bag, it brought confort to my heart to see how they took care of Chloe in the most caring and thoughtful way. The loss of a fur baby is hard enough to take in but it brings a small peace of mind to know that they were handled with care and had a dignified "burial". I am overall happy the way the vet and this pet cremation service handled our loss.

I picked up the cremains of our beloved Winston yesterday. They were left at our Vets office. It took me a while to look in the beautiful rosemary green bag.I cannot fully explain how deeply touched we are by the kindness, and incredible attention to detail! It was so touching to receive Winston’s nose prints!! That meant so much! And the beautiful way his name was engraved into the paw print. And the engraved marker. I am so very grateful for each and everyone of these touches! But the ultimate attention to detail is the rosemary. My gracious what a beautiful touch!! Rosemary signifies remembrance.I am deeply grateful for the care and respect that obviously went into the final act of love we could give our sweet boy Winston!

Very much recommend Southeastern. I received my Mattie’s ashes only five days after her passing. Just look at the beautiful urn they gave us and the heartfelt words. I almost forgot we also received a plaster paw print. Thank you for the kindness and compassion.

Thank you so much for the kind words and beautiful urn for my boy KEIKO. Wilmington Animal Hospital set it up for us as I had no idea as to who or where he would be going. I can say that when I retrieved his remains I was moved and very much relieved that he received the very best care and respect. Thanks again for going the extra mile!

Very compassionate, kind and caring people. I had no idea what to do. Chris helped me with details and options for a compassionate farewell for my Holly Berry. He answered my questions with patience and care. The goodbye took place at our home with the assistance of Julie Fairbank at Compassionate Farewells Mobile Pet Euthanasias. She is so kind and helpful creating a compassionate environment for us all. Afterward Southeastern personnel was waiting in our driveway to transport her to the crematorium. Everything from start to finish was well done with exceptional care and kindness. The paw print mold and beautiful urn are a lovely memorial. I am grateful this business is available for pet owners.

Southeastern cremation completely dropped the ball. Our dog was supposed to be cremated and we were to have a clay paw print made by them, so we had a memento of our first dog we ever had. Southeastern completely missed the paper work for the paw print and cremated our dog before doing the paw print. We now do not have the memento of him. You have one job. We will never get that back. The company is refunding our fees and are apparently sending a candle and some memory heart or something but when you’re dealing with a death of a loved one, you just can’t miss the details. You just can’t. Period. We are devastated.

Our goodest boy Cooper passed away while we were out of town. Needless to say we were devastated. Everyone at Southeastern was so incredibly caring and compassionate and we cannot thank them enough for all they did. The entire staff was amazing!!

Knowing our beloved pet was nearing the end of her life, we chose Southeastern Pet Cremation after an extensive search for the facility we felt would provide gentle and respectful care. When the heartbreaking day came that we had to say goodbye, our experience with SPC was compassionate and professional and we were able to make arrangements same day. We wanted to be with her remains throughout the process and are grateful to Chris and Rebecca who were so kind, and ensured we knew what to expect every step of the way.Afterwards, Chris presented us with her carefully prepared urn, pawprint, a beautiful card, and a sprig of Rosemary for Remembrance. Having her with us, and knowing she was handled with such care, gave us comfort on our 2-hr drive home.We were so impressed with SPC that we have recommended them to our veterinarian. Their services are for anyone wanting ensure that this part of saying "goodbye" is the best choice for their dearly-loved pet.

We recently lost our Theo, and called Southeastern Pet Cremation on a Sunday hoping for a pick up as early as possible on Monday. Within a couple hours, they came to us and were incredibly gentle and careful with our sweet girl. When it came time to drop off, they called ahead to give me time to prepare. Both people we dealt with (Collin and Chris) are incredibly sympathetic people and were understanding as I was a complete mess. Although I hope I never have to call them again, I would be happy to when the time comes.

Two years between passings and the quality for both is wonderful. I also love that they are both exactly the same. The urns are beautiful and the paw prints are a very sweet touch. I will treasure these forever.

There are not enough amazing words to describe how great they took care of us and our furry family member. My service dog of 15 years, Spanky, finally lost his battle with kidney disease, so we helped him cross the Rainbow Bridge. On that day, we had family coming in from out of town to say goodbye. Naturally, they were a little behind schedule. Angie from SPC was there on time, and so I asked if we could delay the procedure and pickup for a little while. She agreed, even though she had other work to do. This says a lot for the care and compassion they have for the families they work with. After they took Spanky, we had excellent communication with Angie and how things were going to work. The entire process was exceptional! This is an incredibly emotional time for everyone, and SPC does everything they can to make it easier!Sincerely,Dan SpanglerUSMC Ret.

Our beautiful and precious Riviera left us on Saturday at 2:30pm. I called Southeastern and explained my situation since they were scheduled to close at 3. Despite being 45 minutes away, they offered to stay open a later to receive our cat. The service they provided along with the extraordinary compassion and care far exceeded expectations. We were deeply touched by Southeastern and would recommend to anyone without hesitation.

This place is the best. They are so compassionate when your dealing with a loss. They have handled the cremation of 2 of my beloved animals. They will come and get your baby if needed and deliver them back. I absolutely love that they always add such a nice touch to everything by including a condolences card, a paw print plaque of your babies paw and little plaque that you can have engraved (on your own accord, later). They also included a little piece of a plant that I have placed in the picture frame with my beloved animals. It's really the little things that mattered. This current situation with my animal passing I found comfort in knowing I could safely set my baby aside and leave for try and continue my day and know she would be carefully picked up and removed with care before I returned home for the day with my kids. I am very thankful for all the things they did to make my difficult time easier. Thank you.

Unbelievable accommodating to my wishes. They were so respectful and unjudgenental. I feel very fortunate to have been able to participate in my sweet boy Andre's final step in this world last night. Not that it would have mattered but the price was very competitive to what the vet had quoted me. Please use these guys, they're great!

Our baby boy was laid to rest with the help of Lap of Love. Since this was our first ever experience, I wasn't aware that Southern Pet would come to our house. At first I was relieved, but when it was time to take our boy Jack, Southern Pet put him in the back of a truck bed like road kill. I read other reviews after everything had happened saying the same thing. If I would have known he would have been transported like that, I would have taken him myself so it was more dignified but I wasn't given that option. I understand the "sanitary" precautions but I think a van with a nice bed or better way of carrying our beloved babies could be figured out. Jack was like my child and I just hope he was treated with respect when he was out of our care. The truck bed broke my heart even more.

I can not say enough how thankful I am for Southeastern Pet Cremation. Our Old English Bulldog Diesel passed away unexpectedly in our arms. We were lost as to the next step. Thank goodness for Southeastern being available 24 hours a day. It was 7 o'lock in the evening and they drove an hour to where we were and pick our baby up. They were very compassionate, patient and respectful with handling him. Plus, they drove the hour back the very next day to bring our precious boy back to us in a beautiful wooden urn and an impression of his paw so that we will always have him with us. I can not thank them enough.❤

I was heartbroken and disappointed with the services Southeastern pet cremation provided. I laid my beloved baby down and was so upset and wasn't thinking and the vets office said Southeastern could take care of her and i agreed not thinking to request or take her to Perkins Goodbye Hugs Pet Cremation Service in Dutch square. When i got my baby back it was like she was an after thought. Generic Card with her name penciled in on it. Name tag was inside the card (not engraved) . Perkins Goodbye Hugs Pet Cremation definitely shows more compassion and love . You guys need to do better ! Its a business for you and a dollar ........ for Me it was my baby !!!!

On Southeastern Pet Cremations website, they use the words & sentences , With Care & Compassion,Your Pets Are Family, We Understand, We honor your pet. It also says; Our commitment at Southeastern Pet Cremation is to treat your pet with respect and compassion while in our care. Those statements are absolutely not true. On June 3, 2021, Southeastern came to my residence to pickup our dog who had been with us for over 11 years. The vet had just left after providing euthanasia. At this time I was extremely upset from saying goodbye to my girl. The representative from Southeastern who showed up was in his later years carrying what appeared to be some kind of carrying bag. I was concerned about how he was going to carry my dog since she weighed 60 pounds. I stated to him that I thought he would have brought a gurney. He told me that other trucks have gurneys but his truck did not. My dog was laying on a sheet and he asked me if I would mind helping him carry her out to his truck. We both picked up an end and carried her out to his pick up truck. At this point he drops the tailgate and tosses my little girl into the back of the pickup truck like she was garbage or some road kill that was found on the side of the road. The bed of the truck didn’t have any kind of lining or carpeting at all. It didn't really hit me until he pulled away what had just transpired. Two days later the same representative from Southeastern came to my house to drop off the remains of my dog. When I passionately voiced my concerns about the way he treated my dog, he could not even apologize. He just stood there and said that's what they gave me. My dog was not treated with any compassion or respect even while I was present. I can only imagine what happens when no one isaround watching. I would have gladly transported my dog myself had I known that they were going to just throw her in the back of their pick up truck in that disrespectful manner. I will never use this company again. If you love and respect your family member (pet) I would think twice before calling Southeastern Pet Cremation in Wilmington NC.

A couple of weeks ago, I lost my little girl Carly at the age of 16. The owners and staff at Southeastern Pet Cremation were so professional and compassionate during the whole process, and I knew Carly was going to be taken care of with love and respect. Southeastern Pet Cremation will always have my business. Thank you again Mike and team!

I had to To get my baby cremated a year ago. There was no waiting. I was able to sit and wait for my baby. I didn’t have to leave him and come back for him later. The people were great and understanding I would recommend them to anybody.

Our sweet cat of 17 years passed away on Sunday. Chris treated her like nothing short of family. He was kind and compassionate from our initial call to when we left. We opted to stay and wait and had our cat back within the hour. Highly recommend.

We are a family with 4 dogs...2.are brother and sister, Harper was diagnosed not long ago with congestive heart, out of the blue we lost him early Sunday morning. I contacted Southeastern Pet Crematory in Wilmington, they came out to the house, an hour away, picked up Harper, brought him back on Tues. The presentation was beyond any expectations. The wooden box is beautiful, along with a plaster paw print, a card. The folks at Southeastern Pet crematory made this experience as pleasant as possibly given the sad circumstances. I highly recommend this company, their compassion is shown in the service they provide, along with a very reasonable price. Thank you Southeastern Pet crematory.

Our family dog of 16 years was peacefully laid to rest a few days ago. We were able to have a wonderful vet service come into our home and let her pass peacefully. However, I was really disgusted when southeastern came to pick her up. The employee was kind, but they out our beloved dog in the back of a pick up truck like road kill. When we asked why she could not be situated in the vehicle the response was “it’s company policy and the owners don’t like that”. As a client and someone who just lost a family member I don’t like my dog being out into the back of a pick up truck. This should be made aware and I would have much rather transported her myself.Another dog that I had passed last year at the emergency vet and they use southeastern. It upsets me incredibly much that she was more than likely treated this way or put into the back of a pick up with other dogs you may have passed that night. As a company, maybe selling the truck and investing in a small van that you can create secure compartments and show compassion for peoples pets who have just passed would help with rapport in the future.

I received my dogs ashes back, and was simply blown away at the quality. The box the ashes are in, the included clay paw imprint, all of it was so much better than I expected. You can tell they wanted to make sure your pet was well taken care of. Thank you, SEPC.

My sweet kitty Coco died last night. We are fairly new to the area but i googled crematoriums and found that this company had really nice reviews. I was surprized on a holiday weekend that they were still open 24 hour a day. I spoke with Evan and he was so nice. He has a nice calming voice. He told us they could pick up and deliver but I felt like driving my kitty there. It was a little hidden but very nice operation. I found it to be very serene and Evan was very considerate. He said he would have Coco ready for us in a hour and a half and she was. A very pleasant experience considering the circumstances.

After 16 years, my little loving companion Louie was laid to rest. It was by far the hardest thing I have ever gone through. I never kenneled him and he was rarely away from me so I really didn't want to send him away with the vet and wait for his ashes to return. After some research, I found Southeastern and read that they encourage owners to be there if they wanted to. I knew I wanted to. The experience gave me a sense of closure that I needed. Louie was treated with respect and love and we were treated with tenderness and understanding. In the end, I brought Louie home with me. I would highly recommend Southeastern...they made an extremely sad loss just a bit more bearable.

We had to say goodbye to our sweet Westie recently. Our veterenarian's office, Porters Neck Vet, coordinated with Southeastern Pet Cremation to have her remains picked up from their office and cremated. I picked up her urn this morning from the vets office and could not be more happy. The turn-around time was very fast. The urn is beautiful as is the sweet card and our girls footprint forever memorialized in clay. We felt at ease knowing that our dogs remains were well cared for and most importantly, respected. We were prepared to pay whatever the cost and were very surprised at how affordable the service was. Without a doubt, I would use their services again.

I just wanted to say thank you so much for the note and taking care of my loki, he meant so much to me, thank you for the gifts along with the beautiful box my baby is in, Brings me such peace of mind. This is the closure I needed. This is the first time I’ve gotten a animal cremated. The amount of comfort I feel knowing that he was taken care of with respect brings me so much peace of mind. I can’t thank you enough. I’m glad he was able to come back to me in a timely manner. You guys are wonderful. Thank you for all the work you do.

Absolutely wonderful. They came and got our dog ( we live over an hour from tbem) and brought her back home to us the next day. I was expecting to get her back in a bo0x but she came in a beautiful wood box with a piece we could get engraved also a beautiful card and a plaster paw print with her name and owners name. They were extremely nice and sympathetic. I will be using them for all future losses. Thank you for running such a wonderful business and caring for your clients and their fur babies.

I was absolutely devastated leaving the vet without my sweet best friend. Our vet took care of the cremation, I was so distraught I just trusted them. When I got everything back, I not only cried for Carl, but at what an absolutely beautiful job they had done. He was my first pet so I didn't know what to expect, but they impressed me beyond words. Thank you for handling my sweet Carl with such care.

The staff was so caring and understanding during our most difficult time. We stayed during the process and received our beloved pet Moco within an hour in a beautiful urn, a hardened clay impression of his paw, a card expressing their condolences for our loss and a branch of rosemary all in a nice green paper bag. Thank you so much Southeastern Pet Cremation.

I had to have my 16 year old girl put to sleep 2 days ago. The vet came to my house and it was done with great care. Then the man came from the crematorium to take her to be cremated. He carefully wrapped her up then carried her out and put her in the bed of the truck. It was an access truck so there were seats behind the driver. I asked that my dog be put inside the truck and the driver said the owner did not want the remains inside of the truck and she had to ride in the bed. This has bothered me ever since. It shows no compassion for either the pet or the owner. It makes me wonder how she was treated when she was at their facility. I’ll never know and I will also never use them again.

Southeastern handled my dog's remains. Since I made arrangements through the emergency vet in Wilmington I expected nothing other than to have his ashes returned to me. What I got was a plaster paw print with his name and date, a beautiful wooden box with a metal nameplate that can be engraved and a thoughtful card. Nothing stops the grief of losing a beloved pet but the lovely and respectful way Southeastern handled things touched my heart and eased my sorrow.

My little girl Alta unexpectedly passed away December 9, 2019. I’m moving back to Utah in January of next year, and wanted my little girl to come with me so we contacted Southeastern Pet Cremation. They were prompt at returning the phone call and very informative of the prices and process. I have never had a pet cremated but it most definitely helps with the grieving process and now she can forever stay with me wherever I go. I am truly appreciative of their services and their sympathy given. I will forever recommend Southeastern Pet Cremation to my family and friends. Thank you again for what you do.

Unfortunately, I had to say goodbye to my cat Vincent. The vet that I went to uses Southeastern Cremation and I wasn't sure what to expect. I was very pleased with their services. I feel like my cat was treated respectfully and that made a difference during a time of loss. Thank you!

Our beloved Blaze passed away on Saturday night at home. I called to check on prices, Angie was thoughtful and kind on the phone and in person when she picked up his body that night. They returned his remains in a beautiful wooden box along with a plaster paw print. They helped turn a terrible event into a memory of kindness and peace of mind. Would highly recommend these folks. They get pet owners and our furry children.

We lost our beloved Golden retriever recently and knew we would be having him cremated as we have our other pets. We expected the same old cardboard box with a bag of cremains. We were wrong.Southeastern takes such gentle care and provided his ashes to us in a beautiful box along with his paw print. This was so above and beyond that we were moved to tears. He is the last in a line of 7 pets and we're still hurting from his loss.Thank you for your wonderful service, kindness and courtesy.Matt and Victoria Rosendahl

A pet death is never easy. But the folks at SEPC made things very simple, and helped us through the whole process. They came to our home, picked up our dog in a very dignified manner. The driver Donna was very sensitive and very sympathetic, we felt very comfortable giving our dog to her. They returned her to us in less than a day, again they came right to the house. They provided us with a beautiful urn, a clay paw imprint, and a small clay memorial bone for our daughter to keep. The whole process was simple and easy. They have such heart and so much understanding. They made this difficult time a little easier on our family. We cannot thank SEPC enough, especially Donna. Thank you guys so much!

If I could give a 10 star rating I would. A very courteous and sincerely sympathetic staff. They went above and beyond for our beloved baby boy. Everything is so nicely done. I want to say I especially appreciate the owner-Michael. He made a very kind gesture for us and it will never be forgotten. I am truly thankful for Southeastern Pet Cremation and for helping us through this very difficult time.

Carl came and took care of our chameleon, Leona just yesterday. We called that evening, and he offered to come right away. He was very kind and thoughtful. We love the little tail and claw print they gave us with her urn and ashes. Overall, they’re very professional and would highly recommend.

My husband lost his companion of more than 10 years. He was completely devastated when he found Butch had pasted away on Sunday morning. Evan of Southeastern Pet Cremation was so professional yet compassionate; he even came to our home to pick up our dear Butch that same day. I was pleasantly surprised at the great care and respect he displayed in his handling of the body. He helped ease a most difficult moment in our life. Thank you Evan!

We had brought our little Scottie, Merlin, to our vet at Needham Animal Hospital as he was struggling to breathe. He left us shortly thereafter and the staff at Needham helped us with the arrangements for cremation and the return of his ashes. We were so surprised when Needham called us the next day that his ashes were all ready to be picked up. The ashes were in a beautiful wood urn and there was a lovely little plaque with Merlin's pawprint. The card and sprig of rosemary finished off the lovely sentiment and obvious care that Southeastern took to respectfully take care of our little Merlin. We cannot thank you enough for bringing him home to us in such a delicate and kind way.
Amy Williams
You guys did such a beautiful job. This has been such a painful week for us but you treated my Bessie Lou with such care and compassion. I am happy to have her back home with us now and will treasure the paw print impression you made for us prior to her cremation. Thank you so much!

"THANKFUL" is the first word that comes to mind when thinking about the service Southeastern Pet Cremation provided. Donna was very sweet, compassionate and customer service driven. That is a very rare combination in today's business world. Our pet passed early in the morning and Donna was at our home promptly and returned our pet the next day. THEIR SERVICE WAS FANTASTIC. If you want your loved pet to be cremated. You can do no better that Southeastern Pet Cremation... If I could give them 1000 stars, I would.

I'm sad & disappointed from my call for service information, pricing, etc. I don't even want to give this company a one-star they deserve a 0 no star! I was crying and hurt and in despair because my doggy had just died. I get this grumpy lady on the phone who's traveling, when I called she told me she would meet me at the Sunoco gas station on hwy 421& 53 to hand my dog's remains off to her and demand that I be there at a certain time! Not sympathetic at all I could not, would not and will not ever do business with this company. Then she called me back repeatedly to say, "I've been waiting I can't wait any longer, I have business to do there's other pets that needs my attention." Who does that???? I'm not handing my precious pet of 10 years to you on a highway in your vehicle and I don't know anything about you!!!!! Then pay you top dollar and not know if you are really treating my pet or someone else's, or WHAT ! Non professional. HELL NO! I did find a soft, caring company, that did a great Service to my family in my dogs name & soul. Thank you" Perkins Good Bye Hugs"💞

Joseph Aparicio

Bryden Manning

Wow is all I can say. I write this with tears in my eyes because I loved my dog and they were so great. They came to remove her body immediately, were very warm and compassionate. They returned the ashes in a nice box with a card and her pawprint along with a few other special items. I would recommend their services to anyone.

I was very nicely surprised when the ashes of my 16 year old Westie named Molly were handed to me in beautiful urn and her paw print, a card. Even this little piece of rosemary gave me comfort that my beloved dog was treated with respect and made the sad time for me little easier.

Our family experience with Southeastern Pet Cremation was one which we regard as highly professional and very compassionate. We lost our Belle and she was handed with respect during the cremation process and at all times we were informed of what and how things would be done. Staff 100% professional.

I cannot express the compassion and kindness shown to us by these guys. They brought back Sailor’s ashes and paw print within 24 hours. They went above and beyond with the respect they showed taking his body out of our home and then bringing his remains back. Thank you Mike, Donna, Evan and Carl...I know there must be others but all of these folks either helped on the phone or came by.

Last week I lost my baby, Dante Giovanni. Dante had been diagnosed with cancer in May. I promised him I would send him away before the cancer took him. Though it crushed my heart, I kept my promise. After 9 yrs as my baby, my buddy, my pal, my brudda, I felt I owed it to him to be with him throughout his final journey. I promised him I would. Thanks to Southeastern, I was able to fulfill my promise.Southeastern was the ONLY facility that offered ACCOMPANIED service. I was able to be there with my boy the whole time. They have a small lounge to accommodate this. The people were AWESOME! The care they showed while handling my boy, calmed my heart immensely. I also observed the respect & care they had for the other babies that were not accompanied.I can never express to the caregivers, as I think of them, how much they helped me emotionally during one of the hardest times of my life.I pray it's a very, very long time before my Vincenzo Mario joins his big bubby, yet, when the time comes, without hesitation, he will end his journey at Southeastern. To the Southeastern caregivers, I have no words adequate enough to convey how much it meant for me to be with my boy through his final journey, so I'll just say, GOD BLESS YOU.💓If you can, I highly recommend the Accompanied service. If not, know that they treat your baby with care.Dante 😿 & Vincenzo's 😺 Mom🙍

I did not get my dogs collar and tag back. They said they don't give them back unless asked. I have always gotten it back. Always. I had to put my dog of 14 years down and I miss him terribly every single day. Now I don't even have his tag and collar. All they had to do was apologize for not giving me his collar, not blame me for not asking for it back at a time when I could barely think. My husband and I were so touched by the beautiful way the cremation of our dog Lucy was handled by this business (Southeastern)They made this painful situation so much easier for us-Our dogs’ ashes were returned to us in a beautiful rosewood box , and also her paw print with a very kind note from them-We are so grateful that we chose this company to help us get through losing our pet-Thank you so very much-

I was so happy to see the care they took in preparing my Bannon's remains. It was lovely and heartwarming and truly amazing. Thank you for the custom touches.

Have used the service twice about to be three times. A very professional and courteous group that treats the pet with respect. I highly recommend this company.
