On March 25th my beautiful brother Vinnie passed and my sister in law and I went to Cavin Cook and we dealt with Mike Cook. Mike was very compassionate and dealt with all the detail and we had a beautiful funeral for my dear brother. The ushers were great as well! We had the Mass at St. Therese and The Celebration of Life at the Heritage House at Cavin Cook which was beautiful and they did everything and we did not have to worry about a thing! My family was very happy! 9 weeks later my mother passed and of course we went back to Cavin Cook and Dayne Marsh assisted my sisters and I. He was wonderful and empathetic and very compassionate and understood the distress we were all under. We had the Mass and Celebration of Life at St. Theresa and they took care of everything for us. We are pleased with the staff and have dealt with Elizabeth, Dana, Crystal, Christina and the lovely gentleman who came to retrieve my mother after she passed. Would highly recommend this Funeral Home & Crematory. Cavin-Cook exemplifies true customer service. They provide compassion and care throughout all stages of end of life planning and services. We have used them on multiple occasions.When my father passed away, very unexpectedly, the day after Christmas in 2018, the folks at Cavin-Cook were with us from the very start of the grieving process.Most recently Dayne and his team helped after my mother passed away. They introduced us to the process of Aquamation. Dayne provided ample information so that we could make an informed decision, knowing that our mother would be satisfied. We were also offered the Heritage House for a Celebration of Life that was the perfect send off for our beloved matriarch. Special thanks to Elizabeth who continues to check in on us and provide grief resources.We've also used Cavin-Cook to purchase an end of life care plan for my special needs sister (Medicaid compliant).All these things mean so much to us and give our family such peace of mind. We recently had a celebration of life for my dad at Cavin Cook Funeral Home. My dad had nothing planned out so we needed lots of direction. Mike and his staff were very helpful and patient as we made dad’s arrangements. The celebration was in the Heritage House which was absolutely perfect. The staff was very eager to help with anything we needed that day. They allowed me to bring in a popcorn machine so we could honor my dad with his favorite snack. A week or so after the service they reached out to check on us. That truly showed how much they care. This was something they did not have to do but I was very happy they did. The support they give you during such a difficult time is amazing and greatly appreciated on my part!

Losing my Mother was the hardest thing I’ve had to deal with. Everyone at Cavin-Cook were so very supportive and kind. The genuine care from suggestions for the service and arranging them to making sure we all were hydrated at the graveside. Things you would never think of they did. They have stayed in touch since the funeral checking on us and providing info on handling our grief. I don’t think I’ve felt more comforted than through their attention to all the details to providing real caring support. Not once did I feel like we were a job to be done. It’s definitely true care from the heart.

We were fortunate that our parents had both prearranged their funerals and recorded them with Cavin-Cook so all we had to do was affirm their wishes. My mother suddenly passed in February 2024 and we were advised to use Cavin-Cook in Mooresville North Carolina. Let me just say this staff was fabulous. Crystal was a joy to work with. They allowed time for our family to see our mom in a proper state, even though we were doing cremation. The death of a loved one can be painful, emotional and stressful all the same time. Recognizing this, the staff at Cavin-Cook took great care of all the details that needed to be taken care of.Much to my surprise, about a month after my mom passed, and we handled all of the necessary procedures, they reached back out to us as a family to see how we were doing. That is going above and beyond.

My mother suddenly passed in February 2024 and we were advised to use Cavin-Cook in Mooresville North Carolina. Let me just say this staff was fabulous. Crystal was a joy to work with. They allowed time for our family to see our mom in a proper state, even though we were doing cremation. The death of a loved one can be painful, emotional and stressful all the same time. There is not much anyone can say or do to make you feel better when you suffer the loss of a loved one but I never realized what a difference Cavin-Cook Funeral Home would make in going through the process. From our very first meeting with them to discuss arrangements to the final touches the morning of the actual service, they were there for us 24/7 ready to help in any way they could. They took care of absolutely EVERY little detail and were so knowledgeable about things we didn’t even know to ask about or request. We had several staff members at our disposal the morning before the service helping us with last minute requests and you could see that this was so much more than a job for them. It was a passion to help families give their loved ones the last gift they will ever give. We had such an amazing experience with my mother’s service that we didn’t hesitate to call them when our father passed a few years later this past May (2021). I was comforted to see Mike, and an equally kind gentleman come to escort her to the funeral home. They were professional, respectful, yet also comforting. Mike even helped me to my car with some of my mother’s belongings. Even though her death was expected, it was more emotional than I expected. The staff at Cavin Cooke were available to me without delay, to answer any questions I had. They made sure every aspect of her transfer out of state was smooth, from her flight, to arrangements at the second funeral home and her burial. I am so grateful I not only preplanned this, but that I chose Cavin-Cooke. I highly recommend this funeral home, I can’t imagine what it would have been like to go through this terrible time without all of them by my side. I’d also like to add that after 8 years I anticipated some unexpected charges. I was pleasantly surprised that there weren’t any, and there was also a small and very prompt refund.

I realize that’s an odd thing to say after suffering the loss of a beloved parent but everything was buttoned up and handled with zero complications. There is not much anyone can say or do to make you feel better when you suffer the loss of a loved one but I never realized what a difference Cavin-Cook Funeral Home would make in going through the process. From our very first meeting with them to discuss arrangements to the final touches the morning of the actual service, they were there for us 24/7 ready to help in any way they could. They took care of absolutely EVERY little detail and were so knowledgeable about things we didn’t even know to ask about or request. I can’t say enough good about Cavin Cook Funeral Home and Crematory in Mooresville NC. My older brother had a massive stroke almost 4 years ago and had to move to be close to us in Roanoke, Va and for assistance with his everyday life.We were fortunate enough to get him into the Va Vets Care Center close by. His health began to deteriorate more as time went by. I called Cavin Cook Funeral Home and they were able to help us with insight into getting a trust set up for Larry’s end of life request. He wanted to be transported back to Mooresville to be buried beside his wife, who had preceded him.So, when the time came last month, I was so relieved that we had made prior plans. Mike Cook is a very compassionate and professional person but can also step into a more down home family friend role to ease the difficult task of making those arrangements. My husband passed away unexpectedly on January 4th at home. The police called Cavin-Cook to pick him up and to handle end of life services. I had no experience with this sort of thing and was incredibly distraught. My sister chose to use Cavin-Cook Funeral Home for a viewing & Celebration of Life when her husband passed in April 2023. We have a large family of 10 siblings & spouses, yet, no mention was made of a limit for the number of people that could come to the viewing. However, during the viewing, a family member was berated for the number of persons that were there, & we were literally 'run out' of the viewing room. My husband & I, along with other family members, did not feel welcome there.Additionally, my sister was given a 'things to do' packet, which stated she needed to go through probate. This was absolutely not a requirement for her situation! It is shameful that a funeral home would incorrectly direct a person who is in an emotional state of mind to go through probate!

On January 31, 2021 my beautiful sister passed away unexpectedly. I had been to many wakes at Cavin Cook. We were very happy we chose them. Ross was wonderful and very understanding to our needs. They assisted with everything from the viewing and The funeral service and then the transportation of my mom to Florida where she was laid to rest, it was a very calm situation event knowing, they had everything under control and they go way above the their means to make sure the family has one less thing to worry about. I can’t say enough good about Cavin Cook Funeral Home and Crematory in Mooresville NC. My older brother had a massive stroke almost 4 years ago and had to move to be close to us in Roanoke, Va and for assistance with his everyday life.We were fortunate enough to get him into the Va Vets Care Center close by. His health began to deteriorate more as time went by. I called Cavin Cook Funeral Home and they were able to help us with insight into getting a trust set up for Larry’s end of life request. He wanted to be transported back to Mooresville to be buried beside his wife, who had preceded him.So, when the time came last month, I was so relieved that we had made prior plans. Even with transportation regulations going from one state to another especially if being embalmed, there were no issues as our friends at Cavin Cook had already arranged all the necessary steps to ensure the best celebration of life for our older brother.Lastly, I have to give kudos to Mike Cook, Michael Cook ( Mikes Son), Dayne Marsh; funeral director, Elizabeth and Dana to name a few. Everyone worked together to go beyond what we even expected. Mike Cook is a very compassionate and professional person but can also step into a more down home family friend role to ease the difficult task of making those arrangements. He helped me pick out the things we needed to make for a beautiful service with out going over budget. Also, both my parents didn’t have a church they went to and Eddie Karriker spoke at both services and did an outstanding job. Thru out my life I’ve dealt with several other funeral homes in the area and they are by far the best. There are many others that work behind the scenes but they do a great job also. My husband passed away unexpectedly on January 4th at home. The police called Cavin-Cook to pick him up and to handle end of life services. I had no experience with this sort of thing and was incredibly distraught. The professionals at Cavin-Cook handled everything from his initial pickup to his memorial services and his cremation and delivery to me with courtesy, respect and the utmost care. If you have a death in the family, there is no one else you want to help you other than Cavin-Cook. I cannot thank them enough. When I die, I definitely want my family to have this caring team to help with my end of life arrangements. They have been a Godsend to me!

My husband past away on August 6, 2021. Monday, August 9, we met with Ross from Cavin Cook. There were six family members with me and we were asked to meet in a beautiful conference room. Ross explained everything to all of us right there and then. We asked if we could have the service the following Friday, August 13, just 7 days later. On the following Friday my husband had a funeral fit for a king! The entire staff of Cavin Cook had put together every request we asked for plus some additional ones. It was nothing but first class! My sister chose to use Cavin-Cook Funeral Home for a viewing & Celebration of Life when her husband passed in April 2023. We have a large family of 10 siblings & spouses, yet, no mention was made of a limit for the number of people that could come to the viewing. However, during the viewing, a family member was berated for the number of persons that were there, & we were literally 'run out' of the viewing room. My husband & I, along with other family members, did not feel welcome there.Additionally, my sister was given a 'things to do' packet, which stated she needed to go through probate. This was absolutely not a requirement for her situation! It is shameful that a funeral home would incorrectly direct a person who is in an emotional state of mind to go through probate!

`I would like to thank everyone at Cavin-Cook funeral home and crematory. I live in florida and when I got a call from North Carolina telling me my daughter had passed. We got to Narolina Carolina and my child’s body had been delivered to Cavin-Cook. Mr. Dayne worked with us with so many things to be done. It’s a little bit more than other places but knowing the crematorium is on site is worth it! I’ve heard horror stories about people getting the wrong person back after & I was terrified that would happen so knowing my mom only had to be transported this one place gave me so much piece of mind. They made everything really easy for me & didn’t pressure us into a service or anything extra. We were on a very tight budget & they were so understanding about it! I’m appreciative that it was a simple and straightforward.

My fur baby Peanut passed and we took her in for cremation and they are the kindest most compassionate ladies you will ever meet. Much more than Mooresville animal hospital was when i called and told them she wasn't going to make the appointment. My parents made pre-arrangements with this service. When my mother passed, they had me come to sign paperwork and told me that "everything was taken care of," then had the gall to send me an invoice with "extra" charges. That takes some gall and astonishes me. Such a lack of professionalism is incredibly disappointing.

Karen is rude and having an obviously bad day today. Karen needs to go home. Karen laughed about mask mandates when asked by replying; “This is Iredell County. Not Mecklenburg. (Laughter) You’re not required to wear a mask.”I know what county the home is in.Funeral services should not at all be political and the person at the funeral home should have more respect for those who are grieving yet trying to respect others than to laugh at the concern over the lack of safety. Don’t worry, though! Karen says you’re welcome to wear a mask (to protect others) if you want and they have hand sanitizer.Sad how people working in funeral services find this deadly virus comical. Could this be because it lucrative for their business?In fact, Karen is having a bad week. When I called earlier this week and asked about the deceased person, she was rude and short with me. She said; “We don’t have him.” I asked; “Do you know how I would go about locating him?” She said; “No.” I said okay. I was in shock at the news of the loss. She hung up on me.Karen answers the phone and talks in a condescending way as if you’d have inconvenienced her during your time of obvious loss and grief and is not afraid to impose her anti-masking political values upon you in an authoritative manner.I recorded the call. Karen is terribly rude.
