My husband recently passed and just prior to his passing I contacted Christopher Mitchell Funeral Home in Albion, NY. I received a quick reply back and they explained the whole process for me. I worked with Josh Mitchell and he was great. My husband was buried at the Long Island National Cemetary and they took care of all the arrangements including driving his remains from Albion to Long Island. All the staff I interacted with were very kind and knowledgeable. I would highly recommend them! They did a top notch job!

Josh, Paula & Becky were very caring & professional in guiding us through the funeral planning process. They gave us tips and accommodated our special requests. Throughout the calling hours, they checked in to see if we needed anything. Afterwards, they sent us text messages to see how we were doing and to offer their assistance if there was anything else that we needed. We received several compliments from people who don’t live in the immediate area expressing how wonderful and caring they were to everyone. I can’t imagine going anywhere else. I highly recommend Christopher Mitchell Funeral Homes. They are very caring, thoughtful and helpful during difficult times. Josh is very down to earth and understanding your needs. During my fathers services, Josh took it upon himself to keep my son and nephew occupied (even though they ate all your snacks and mints) I also loved that we could make our own slideshow easy to upload pictures and videos from our phones to right on the screen during services, made it much more personal to show my fathers story. Just simply awesome. The kindness and caring they showed my family during the death of my mother. They explained clearly the costs at no extra charge. Every aspect of the funeral including ordering flowers, cemetery and the grave plot was again clearly explained with making sure that all was understood, again with no explanation charge. Even though this was a sad occasion, they made it so much easier to endure. When our father unexpectedly passed away, my sister and I were completely lost. Lost on the why, the what to do - how to do it. Who to call. Thankfully our father already had arrangements made, which we had found out about at his passing. We simply called Christopher Mitchell and they took care of everything. And even if no prior arrangements were made, you will not be alone. They are there for you. We cannot properly express what it meant to my sister and I to have that complete burden taken care of while we grieved. Dave was so kind, patient and very understanding. Dave and the Christopher Mitchell family were beyond kind and caring. Death is inevitable, so when you have a loved one that passes on, Christopher Mitchell is the place to call. From the time we called Christopher Mitchell’s funeral home until even now I am still receiving messages asking how everyone is doing a month and a half later. They show you genuine sympathy not in a business manner but more in a loving and caring way. They take care of everything and are there for you! From the time we walked in we were greeted with kindness, understanding and compassion. My two sisters and I recently lost our Dad. He had been a long time resident in NC before moving to the Brockport area 2 years ago. My Dad had made many of his funeral arrangements ahead of time with a funeral home in NC as well as having a prepaid mausoleum crypt space at a cemetery in PA.After moving to Brockport, my sister who lives in Albion wisely advised him to consider using Christopher Mitchel Funeral Homes when the time arose.Our experience with Joshua was flawless! His attention to detail was impeccable. He sat with my sister and I ahead of time and thoroughly explained our options and worked out our final expenses. He personally worked with the funeral director in NC as well as worked with the cemetery in PA, where our Dad had a military service.David Mitchell was responsible for driving our Dad to PA, where we had a small family service. He was there plenty of time ahead, and he worked with the groundsmen there. Christopher Mitchell Funeral Home in Albion, NY was beyond amazing when my daughter Magenta passed away. Paula Fuller started helping me shortly after Magenta died. She made my worst nightmare a little easier to deal with. Paula helped us with arrangements that we were able to afford because Magenta didn't have life insurance. Paula will never really realize how grateful I am for what she did for me. Christopher Mitchell Funeral Home has also sent me a book to read from The After Care Series. I could not have imagined more caring, professional, complete and personal services than what I received from Josh Mitchell in helping me and my family with the arrangements and services for my mother when she passed away at 97. Josh gently talked through the different funeral services and carefully listened to my needs - I wanted a natural burial and he arranged for that, including a special wicker casket and a natural burial practice for her grave in Albion. He also arranged for special flowers and greenery for the top of her casket. Since my mom was living in Virginia, Josh arranged for her body to be transported to Albion and when the day came, we called him and he took care of everything else. He arranged for a wonderful local pastor to be at the service who reached out to us before the service so she could learn more about my mom and personalized what she said at the service. Due to coronavirus, we wanted to have the option for friends and family to attend the service virtually via zoom -- Josh did an amazing job organizing and getting us all on the zoom call, carefully and perfectly recorded the entire service at the cemetary, including adding our photo slide show of my mom, then later emailed it to me so I could share with friends and family members. My mom passed away on a Wednesday, and Josh communicated multiple times with me throughout the week and weekend to have everything in place for the Monday service. We wanted to get obituary notices out to several newspapers as quickly as possible and he very patiently and efficiently worked with me, getting all the notices out and published when we wanted them - including going back to some of the outlets with last minute changes. Josh also customized the obituary page on the website so we could direct people to a special memorial donation in lieu of flowers. Josh and everyone he involved not only provided excellent services, but very much helped us on a personal level through this difficult time of grief and loss that was made even harder due to the pandemic.

The funeral was very well put together, BUT when I received my keep sake urn it was in a bubble wrapped envelope, the urn was NOT placed in the box it came in with the lid! It was all scattered in this envelope!.This is what I paid, yes I had to pay $26.20 for them to mail my urn to Florida! ...Very disappointed

He also arranged for special flowers and greenery for the top of her casket. Since my mom was living in Virginia, Josh arranged for her body to be transported to Albion and when the day came, we called him and he took care of everything else. He arranged for a wonderful local pastor to be at the service who reached out to us before the service so she could learn more about my mom and personalized what she said at the service. Due to coronavirus, we wanted to have the option for friends and family to attend the service virtually via zoom -- Josh did an amazing job organizing and getting us all on the zoom call, carefully and perfectly recorded the entire service at the cemetary, including adding our photo slide show of my mom, then later emailed it to me so I could share with friends and family members. My mom passed away on a Wednesday, and Josh communicated multiple times with me throughout the week and weekend to have everything in place for the Monday service. We wanted to get obituary notices out to several newspapers as quickly as possible and he very patiently and efficiently worked with me, getting all the notices out and published when we wanted them - including going back to some of the outlets with last minute changes. Josh also customized the obituary page on the website so we could direct people to a special memorial donation in lieu of flowers. Josh and everyone he involved not only provided excellent services, but very much helped us on a personal level through this difficult time of grief and loss that was made even harder due to the pandemic.

They provide options after getting as much information as possible to help you make informed decisions. Never any pushing or leading, just help to make your decisions on what you ultimately want the funeral and all aspects of it to be. They are there at every step in the process for any and all help you may need or want. I don't think you will be disappointed should you need/use their services.

We worked with Josh at the Albion funeral home for the arrangements of my wife Patricia. Josh was very caring and knowledgeable about our situation. He was very helpful in all respects when it came to writing the obituary and selecting a casket etc. Making the arrangements for the day of the funeral with the scheduling of everything that needed to be done and all of the people that needed to be involved. The whole experience considering the circumstance was very calming and professional. I would highly recommend this Funeral Home and especially Josh.

The funeral was very well put together, BUT when I received my keep sake urn it was in a bubble wrapped envelope, the urn was NOT placed in the box it came in with the lid! It was all scattered in this envelope!.This is what I paid, yes I had to pay $26.20 for them to mail my urn to Florida! ...Very disappointed
