Never thought I'd be writing a review for a funeral home, but here I am...Funerals are never fun, and losing a spouse can be particularly difficult. Dawn and her team made a terrible time easier and more comforting. Don't get me wrong, there were still tears and a feeling of terrible loss, but the team at Mathis did every thing possible to ensure my guests an me were taken care of at every step, from a cup of coffee to returning the ashes, pictures, prayer cards etc back... Cathie's send off would have made her smile - and therefore, I was able to smileThanks Dawn, and your team... They were great...

Mathis Funeral home was very kind and compassionate when making arrangements for my Mother’s funeral. Due to Covid restrictions we had to alter what my mom had wanted and Jared was awesome in helping that come to fruition. The day of, they were very attentive to our needs and made sure we, as a grieving family, we’re taken ok. Even weeks after they have been in contact to see how we are and to provide additional resources if we needed them.

We are incredibly grateful that we had Carl and Mathis Funeral Home during this very difficult time. After losing our young son to a rare illness, we did not know where to begin. We prearranged my brother’s cremation. Jared and Carl were both very professional and helpful with the process. They explained everything we needed to know. When my brother passed they were there quickly to take him away. They again were very professional and concerned with our feelings. They got all of the paperwork done and handled the insurance company. It was a great relief not having to do it all. They make it as easy as possible to navigate through it all. They take the lead from what you say and what the loved one wanted based on their caring, gentle questions. You can take comfort and trust in knowing they will guide you as much as you require and at the same time there is no attempt to upsell or apply any pressure in any way. I have experienced 5 local family member’s passings over the past 28 years; parents, siblings and just last month, my spouse. We have turned to Mathis every time. Even during these trying Covid times, they showed nothing but kindness, caring, understanding, support and flexibility to delay services until when my family feels it is the time to gather to honor my husband.
