We had an excellent experience with Murphy Funeral Home in Ewing, NJ. Nicole helped us navigate the entire process and there were no surprises. Our mother died in Ohio and they arranged for her body to be picked up by a local funeral home and prepared for the flight back to New Jersey. Everything was done by phone and e-mail and when we arrived for the viewing it was perfect. Nicole even arranged for a priest to be at both the viewing and burial. Mike gave us a very clear itemized bill and there were no surprises.For the reviews that are complaining about price, they should have gotten this information up front. We found them very compatible with their competition and everything was spelled out for us. Very compassionate and wonderful people to work with.Karen

Never want to meet someone under these circumstances. But definitely the place to go if you need the services. We were completely lost with how to even begin and walked out confident after our first visit knowing we had a plan. When the time came to use the services everything was perfect and the service was beautiful. Thank you so much for your help, compassion, and love that you put into everything you do.

Murphy Funeral Home, it's staff and specifically, Justin, were so very kind and compassionate during the loss of our unborn son. They worked with us and the hospital to take care of all of the arrangements for him. Justin was extremely thorough, caring, informative and responsive through the process. Everything was handled by the staff at Murphy so that my wife and I hardly had to think about those aspects. We were sure that they were taking such good care of all that needed to be done so that it was one less item in our minds. We are thankful for the team at Murphy for all that they did during this difficult time.

This funeral home used to be locally owned and now is part of a chain. Totally disgusted with the fact that they take advantage of bereaved family members seeking funeral services. Beware of this company. The charges for a simple cremation with no viewing, no church service and no immediate burial were over $3800. They charge a standard fee of $2995.00, which includes nothing other than meeting with you, their “availability,” and a few minor clerical items. That fee is before you spend any money at all on a funeral and the associated costs, such as a viewing, church, burial arrangements, etc. They originally attempted to gouge the family for $6300. When contacted, they removed all the items they additionally charge for and still maintained their exorbitant fee. There are many families faced with providing loved ones with a proper burial, and it would be in their interest to inquire into a few funeral homes before making the mistake of getting blind sided by unscrupulous funeral home operators.

Never been to a funeral where they give the wrong information about a luncheon to the priest to announce in the middle of a mass... To put icing on the cake they told the priest the wrong restaurant. Only 2 staff members working a funeral. I heard they are no longer owned by the Murphy family and are part of a chain now. Unprofessional and incompetent - steer clear of this place in the time of need!

The livestream webcast was terrible. It started freezing within the first minute and at 4 min it was a total freeze. Missed everything 🙁. Also the sound and video quality were very poor too. This is unacceptable especially with today’s COVID pandemic.
