I can't begin to say how grateful and happy I am with having found the Spilker Funeral Home for my Father's memorial service. From the first phone call I had with Dennis Spilker, I knew already that this was going to be the right place. Dennis was beyond a true professional. He is a kind, sincere, and honest individual who not only treated every detail with delicate care and precision, but he took the time to get to know about my Father, the life he lived, the person he was, and how I envisioned his memorial service to be. I was deeply touched by this and will never forget how emotional of an impression Dennis made on me. A special thanks also to Kevin Beare, who created a masterful photo/video tribute of my Father. Your creativity and expertise are outstanding. The funeral home itself has such a rich and unique history, it's architecture is beautiful and the floorspace inside is generous. Dennis and his team were wonderful. Our family member passed at home. They took great care to take him out of the home with dignity and allowed us to say our final goodbyes. Dennis made planning the service easy. They did a lovely video using photos we sent them. It was so comforting to look up during the viewing and see those pictures. He was such a comfort during a very difficult time. Thank you!!

My family has lost two significant people within a year's time, and Dennis has been there for us from start to finish. He is an immensely empathetic person, and knows when to offer his emotional support and how to handle situations and responsibilities that people typically shy from. He is immeasurably professional, a great listener, and is fantastic at his job. The Spilker home facilities are beautiful, and his staff is kind and conscientious. In difficult situations, Dennis and his team are the people to whom you should turn.

I highly recommend Spilker Funeral Home of Cape May, New Jersey. The winter of 2020 was catastrophic for my family. While visiting my parents in Massachusetts, I had a traumatic accident. Two days later, my beloved mother suffered a major stroke. During my mom’s hospice care, I contacted Dennis Spilker. Dennis empathized with how terrible my situation was. He was generous with his time and was always available to answer my questions, day or night. Dennis patiently listened to me and never rushed me off the phone. I was transported back to New Jersey for surgery and then my mother passed away.I was injured and stricken with grief. Dennis organized careful transport of my mom’s body and was generous with updates. I was overwhelmed with my physical situation and the travel arrangements for my grieving, disabled father. My injuries delayed the funeral by over a week, which added to my father’s devastation. My father sent a rose to the funeral home. Dennis placed it with my mom and promptly sent a reassuring photo to my father.Dennis has so much sensitivity, insight, and respect for the process of losing a loved one. He expertly steered me through the viewing, service, and burial preparations to prevent any timing and financial issues. When I ran into difficulties planning the repast, Dennis helped me find an appropriate and affordable venue. His guidance helped to keep me calm as I balanced my mom’s death with my injuries and grieving father.I wanted my mother’s hair and make-up to look natural. Dennis thoughtfully listened to my descriptions and undoubtedly studied the sample photos I provided. His attention to detail was impeccable. My mom looked beautiful, despite the delay. Every detail of my Mother's service was done with great consideration.Dennis was compassionate about our unusual situation and accommodated us for a late-night, private viewing. Spilker Funeral Home is located in an impressively restored Victorian building with stained glass windows and beautiful woodwork. This inviting, clean, and peaceful setting allowed me to focus on my mother.I cannot put into words the appreciation we have for the exceptional service provided by the staff at Spilker Funeral Home. Everyone, including the limo driver, ushers, and pall bearers, were all professional and kind, which enabled my mother to receive a proper farewell. Dennis Spilker, thank you from the bottom of my heart.

When someone you love passes on, you want only the best for their exit of this earth. Spilker Funeral home delivers just that. It is owned and operated by two of the most professional, kind hearted, compassionate men I have ever had the pleasure of meeting at such a horrible time. Dennis and Kevin were top notch. Their attention to every meticulous detail was impressive. They are truly genuine and handled our Dad and our family with the upmost respect and care. They even indulged us with engraving our Dads favorite saying on the top of the casket. Months of hospice did not prepare me for the final week of watching my loved one slowly die. Other than the hospice team who spent some time and were a lifeline I was there 24 hours a day trying to help him make the transition he chose to end the long battle he bravely fought of his disease. By the end I had no idea how to move forward. I had known he would need funeral services and I read reviews choosing Spilker Funeral Home based on what others had shared. At the time I did not realize how much I would appreciate the kindness that they showed. It was the immediate moments after death that stopped me. They came right away and made the transition respectfully kind for me. I felt my loved one was being taken with dignity and care and that I would have no worries about the many details to follow. I can’t thank them enough. Mr. Spilker and his close group of dedicated staff provided everything needed on an emotional and practical level with kindness and support. The other family members made a point of telling me that they felt the same way. Thanks for being there at our time of need. It takes very special people to be able to offer that to others.

I recently lost my husband tragically. I called Dennis Spilker to handle the cremation. He walked me through the whole process, going above and beyond to comfort me. Throughout this whole long ordeal, he was right there responding to my every need quickly and promptly. This is not a service most people ever want to need, however, I recommend Dennis and his staff 100%! They are very personable, attentive, respectful and simply just kind! During this time of my most deepest sorrow, I could not have asked for a more professional service to attend to this need. Thank you Dennis!

This facility offered the most lovely and respectful ceremony for a dear man. The facility is warm and comfortable for guests. The staff was there for every step to make sure we knew where to go and what to do. We felt welcomed and cared for as guests. Very impressive.

My mother died during the pandemic and Dennis and Kevin at Spilker worked unbelievably hard to pull together a virtual service that all of us were proud of. This is located beside the Washington Inn. They have a really good reputation for helping to deal with the unfortunate circumstances of losing a loved one. The Washington inn uses the parking lot for valet parking and our brand new Mercedes came back without issues.
