We unexpectedly lost our 12 year old chihuahua mix, Ruger, and had to make the dreaded phone call to make arrangements. Ashley was so incredibly kind and helpful throughout the process and made communication simple and easy over the phone. When arriving at the facility to drop him off, Shaun met us at the truck and promised to take care of our baby like he was his own. Shaun was an absolute god send during this process and made leaving feel not as terrible. He knew how upset we were and promised to have my baby back to us asap. It wasn’t even 24 hours later, and my sweet baby is back home with us. I’ll be forever grateful for the love and compassion we felt during this difficult time. I would highly recommend using this service and thankful we received the care that we did. The clay paw print and hair clippings were so incredibly special to have with his urn.

Hard to believe pet cremation could be described as a “great experience,” but it was. I did not meet with any staff to discuss arrangements prior to my cat passing, however John was extremely responsive over the phone, worked me in to their schedule promptly, and answered all my questions. The staff person who accepted my cat when I dropped her off was extremely kind and compassionate. I received her ashes & paw print/hair keepsake in just one day. I’m so grateful for how my pet and myself were treated here.

Our beloved cat, who was 15 1/2 years old with a big personality and treated as family, had to be euthanized due to cancer in his mouth. John with Heartland was very helpful and took care of us all the way to the end. Our little fur friend now rests in a beautiful wooded urn we purchased through Heartland Pet Cremation. The cost of the cremation and upgraded urn was very reasonable and my wife and I are grateful for John making this dreaded task simple as possible without any mishaps. Thank you Heartland…

Hartland Pet Cremation did such a great with my Milo. They really do care about you and your fur baby and what you are going threw. They kept in touch with me with the process. When I tell you John and his staff have the biggest hearts on the planet, I am not kidding you.Our cat suddenly had to be put down and the humane society wouldnt even pick up the phone. We needed an emergency cremation for our cat and I called John and instead of complaining about being rushed, he expressed so much emotion towards our loss and to our cat that I never would have expected from anyone.The place is a funeral home for your pets. They do everything properly and treat pet loss as it should be treated.No other place will ever come close to what these people have done for us.-Family of Seneca.

I highly suggest this business if you’ve got smaller pets. I had four rats that passed and was struggling to find a place that’d take them in for a reasonable price, and I eventually found this place! The amount of care and respect they put into your loved ones is beyond amazing.Each rat had two great paw impressions and little clippings of hair. They gave closure for my babies.If you want your loved ones to be in good hands, I suggest going with this place. Outstanding service, Thank you! 💕🐀

My 15 yr old boy ROSCOE P. COALTRAIN passed away @ 130am Monday, the loss although not unexpected was still devastating. He was a large pitt mix and weighed about 95lbs when i called Heartland pet creamation Monday morning they promptly showed up @ 9am with a cot and blanket to take him to their facility. They were so compassionate and kind! The service they provide is worth every cent! As well as the choice of urns, they also provide a paw print and a lock of his hair as a keepsake. Ill 100% be calling them in the future when the time comes to take care of my other furbabies.

My 11 year old pup died last Tuesday evening from a horrific seizure. I didn’t want him to be buried because we have a schnauzer dog and my fear was that she’d try to dig him up. That would be utterly devastating especially for my five year old. He was already pretty distressed about losing his best friend. The entire process was very easy considering it was a very difficult situation as is. I made the call and filled out some information online and then received a call back about 10 minutes after filling out some forms and they scheduled a pickup at my house. Everything occurred in a matter of hours. Once Teddy was picked up, he was cremated and they made paw prints for us and clipped some of his hair for us to keep (which I think is absolutely amazing) and we received all of the contents the very next day. I will definitely use this service again and I highly recommend this service to those looking for an affordable and stressful service in handling those last precious moments in caring for your pet after they pass away.

I have dealt with the Heartland Pet Cremation Services during one of the worst mornings of my life. They were very respectful and attentive of all the needs during the process. The pick up was painful but the driver was wonderful, and I knew my baby was in good hands. The teddy bear urn was beautiful too. Long story short, I would definitely and highly recommend Heartland. I hope you never need it but if you do, this is the place that will take care of your fur babies.

Very thoughtful, considerate and compassionate people. It's always difficult to lose a pet because they are family members and the staff here understands that. I was important to us that we stayed with our baby until the end so we were able to bring him from the vet to Heartland and escort him just inside. That was very comforting to see a bit and understand what would take place. They provide a paw print and a lock of hair with the cremains which is very thoughtful. I imagine good reviews for services like this are thought to come by. Our 4-year-old Newfoundland passed suddenly, and it was devastating to our family. We knew that with the heat we needed to find somewhere quick, and, on a Sunday, I expected it would hard to find. They answered right away and were very friendly in helping us find the best way to move forward. We were able to drop our best friend off same day and pick her up the next so we could have her with us. It took only a few more days for our custom urn to arrive and an appointment was scheduled the next day to have her transferred to her final urn.The staff was very kind and seemed to care. I am thankful that they were available to help us.

My daughters guinea pig passed away on Saturday and I did not know where i was gonna take her. I called heartland cause they were the only ones that seemed to be open and I'm so happy I did. I have and will continue to HIGHLY recommend Heartland to everyone I know. I have always had pets and I have had all my pet's ashes returned to me for the last 30 years. I have utilized many pet cremation services, as we have moved thru the years. Very thoughtful, considerate and compassionate people. It's always difficult to lose a pet because they are family members and the staff here understands that. I was important to us that we stayed with our baby until the end so we were able to bring him from the vet to Heartland and escort him just inside. That was very comforting to see a bit and understand what would take place. They provide a paw print and a lock of hair with the cremains which is very thoughtful. I imagine good reviews for services like this are thought to come by. Our 4-year-old Newfoundland passed suddenly, and it was devastating to our family. We knew that with the heat we needed to find somewhere quick, and, on a Sunday, I expected it would hard to find. They answered right away and were very friendly in helping us find the best way to move forward. We were able to drop our best friend off same day and pick her up the next so we could have her with us. It took only a few more days for our custom urn to arrive and an appointment was scheduled the next day to have her transferred to her final urn.The staff was very kind and seemed to care. I am thankful that they were available to help us.

After an unfortunate last-minute need for my beloved kitty to be cremated following a sudden passing, I called on a Sunday afternoon and was beyond relieved to receive such compassion during this difficult time. I was able to schedule an appt within the hour, and when we arrived, Sean greeted us with the same compassion I was met with on the phone. He allowed us time to say our goodbyes, reassured us of the protocol/procedure, and gave us ample time to say our final goodbyes. I can’t emphasize enough how much Heartland Pet Cremation assisted me during this time of grief. I highly recommend!

Everyone involved in the process of having my family's cat cremated was incredibly kind and patient. Heartland was also very quick despite this all happening just 2 days before Christmas, we were able to bring home our cat's ashes and pawprint just 3 days after she was picked up. Also, the fact that Heartland sent someone to pick up our lost pet was incredible for my family, relieving a lot of pain and stress from a difficult time. Our dog recently had a clean bill of health at his annual checkup, so imagine our horror when we came home to find him dead on the kitchen floor! We called John at Heartland Pet Cremation, and he was so very comforting over the phone. I’m not one to regularly take the time to leave reviews, but I felt the need to share my experience with Heartland. I really hope I caught all of their names correctly so I can give credit where credit is due. We came home on a Sunday afternoon to find that our 14 year old dog had passed and crossed the rainbow bridge in his sleep. Of course I was distraught and in a panic and wondered what we could even do, as it was late afternoon on a Sunday and I always knew that I wanted to have him cremated (privately) and have his remains returned to make a memorial stone. I thought I’d give Heartland a call to at least try to make arrangements for the following day (since again, it was a Sunday). Eli answered the phone on a Sunday afternoon and was extremely compassionate and gave his heartfelt condolences as I tried to talk through my tears. We live about 50 miles from their location but he said that he would have someone out to our home within 60-90 minutes. Ricky came to our home to pick up our boy and once again, was so empathetic and caring and gave me a few minutes alone to tell my best friend of 14 years goodbye for the last time. John was in contact with me to let me know what day they would be returning him home. They brought him back home a few days later in a nice presentable box and included a print of his paw and a clipping of his fur. Heartland is one of the most caring companies I have ever had they pleasure to work with. My heart is at ease knowing that they took great care of my boy until they brought him back home. It’s hard to find companies in business that care so much about what they do and the people they serve, but Heartland checks all of the boxes. I highly recommend their services and I will definitely use them again when the inevitable and unfortunate time comes with our other pets. Thank you to everyone at Heartland for making this process a little less painful.

My cat passed away suddenly and unexpectedly. The person I initially spoke with was calming, sensitive and expressed such kindness. I feel like I cannot find the right words to express my gratitude for John. He showed such kindness while I sobbed, patiently listening, offering condolences and reassurance. Never making me feel rushed or that he needed to be anywhere else but with me helping me through the process and talking about my beloved pet (or my other beloved pets that have already crossed). Although nobody wants to need their services, I couldn’t have asked for a better experience during a very traumatic time. I’m so very sorry that you are here having to make this decision but please take some comfort in knowing that this company does it’s very best in caring for you and your pet.

When I lost my dog they came immediately to pick her up. The woman on the phone was super nice and understanding of my loss. So was the man who came to get her. He shared stories about losing his pets, gave me time for a few last words. Had a little stretcher to help get her in his vehicle. They shipped her back to me quickly for a good price, or you can go pick them up yourself. I can't say enough good things. In a hard time, it was a great help!

After our dog passed away, we were pretty distraught and had no idea how to handle things. What we did know is we wanted to have him cremated so he wouldn't be left behind when we move someday. Pretty much all the places are priced about the same. What sold me on Heartland Pet Cremation over other facilities was when I spoke to them on the phone they were far more concerned with how we were doing instead of making the sale. That empathy matters and is why we chose to trust them with our loved one. We would definitely choose Heartland for our future needs when the time comes.

Heartland Pet Cremation was patient and helpful throughout our sweet baby’s last few weeks. We had gone back and forth with end of life decisions resulting in many on again/off again phone calls to Heartland. When the time came, we knew what to expect. And they worked directly with our vet so there was nothing more we needed to worry about. Everyone at Heartland I spoke to was compassionate and always referred to our beloved by name. Our baby was returned to us as promised in the most beautiful urn with the engraving exactly as we requested. We’ve already recommended them to a dear friend of my husband’s who is in a similar situation. You don’t need to use the cremation company your vet is affiliated with. We didn’t and happy with the outcome. I highly Re commend Heartland.

Words cannot express our gratitude for Heartland Cremation. We lost our beloved dog of 13 years expectantly, and they made brought some sunshine into what was one of the worst days of our lives. I am visiting my mother and we had an unfortunate freak accident with one of her dogs. I can’t say enough good things about Heartland Pet Cremation Services. They are so very very empathetic and compassionate. They came to my mother’s house at the drop of a hat to pick up her little baby. They were so kind and understanding and let us take our time picking what we wanted and no rush with payment. They made sure to call and email us with updates on everything and even asked how we were doing especially my mother. The driver was beyond sweet when he took lily and when he dropped her off to us. I highly recommend Heartland Pet. They took care of everything, coming to our house to get our kitty and bringing his remains back home. We lost our furbaby of 14 years without warning and were in shock. There was no way I could drive anywhere. Heartland Pet worked with us quickly and helped us make arrangements over the phone. They came very quickly that morning, on a Saturday and took care of our pet lovingly. They even called us 15 minutes ahead as I asked so I could make sure our kids got one last hug/pet and felt ready. They arrived in a nice van and placed our kitty gently inside. Everyone we interacted with through Heartland was compassionate. They were great with communication and brought back the remains within 3 days along with a few keepsakes. Our beloved family cat passed away overnight in February 2022, and I called Heartland Pet Cremation on a Friday morning to make arrangements for her. The representative we spoke to was very compassionate and understanding; we met him in the facility's parking lot to transfer our cat's remains early that day, and they had her ashes and keepsakes ready for us to pick up the following morning on Saturday. Losing a pet is never easy, and it's even more painful when your children are young and very attached. Heartland is one of the most caring companies I have ever had they pleasure to work with. My heart is at ease knowing that they took great care of my boy until they brought him back home. My cat passed away suddenly and unexpectedly. The person I initially spoke with was calming, sensitive and expressed such kindness. I feel like I cannot find the right words to express my gratitude for John. He showed such kindness while I sobbed, patiently listening, offering condolences and reassurance. Never making me feel rushed or that he needed to be anywhere else but with me helping me through the process and talking about my beloved pet (or my other beloved pets that have already crossed). Although nobody wants to need their services, I couldn’t have asked for a better experience during a very traumatic time. This is the second time in 11 years I have used Heartland for cremation of my beloved Golden Retrievers. The care and service that they gave was exactly what we needed. Both times they were contacted and were available when I needed them. I appreciate the respect that they gave to our four legged family members and us too. When I lost my dog they came immediately to pick her up. The woman on the phone was super nice and understanding of my loss. So was the man who came to get her. He shared stories about losing his pets, gave me time for a few last words. Had a little stretcher to help get her in his vehicle. They shipped her back to me quickly for a good price, or you can go pick them up yourself. I can't say enough good things. In a hard time, it was a great help!

My only dealings were with John, but he was excellent both on the phone and in person. He was very caring and empathetic from my first phone contact through our taking our guinea pig to their facility through picking up the remains. There was no pushing of any upgrades or packages, just concern for our loss. The urn we ordered, the paw prints...everything came out very well. I felt like Nibbles was in good hands when we left him. I still feel that way.

This is the third time I have used Heartland. It is such a better experience than leaving my beloved friend with the vet to take care of after her death. It was no more expensive--or minimally not more expensive--than my vet and I had the assurance of their personal care and a dignified cremation. No worry that she was stored under refrigeration for a week or more waiting for her remains to be picked up at the vet and then mass cremated or sent for dissection. Heartland is totally trustworthy. In my grief I overpaid. Heartland called me and promptly refunded the difference. I would never have known or felt cheated if they had not contacted me. It just goes to show their level of care.

When the time comes, I cannot recommend Heartland Pet Cremation enough. We had our 14 (and a half!) year old Yorkie put down at home last week. My initial plan was to let that service handle the cremation, but we did it in the morning, and I didn’t want little P sitting in a car all day...so we drove him to Heartland ourselves. It was honestly one of the best decisions I’ve ever made; it gave me more time with him, and allowed us to meet some of the most genuine, caring people I’ve ever come into contact with. John met us in the parking lot, explained the process and cost, and was so gentle with P’s little body that it brought me to (more) tears. I am “that” pet parent, a paranoid control freak who probably would have watched the entire process if I could have, because, let’s face it...a lot of people don’t have the respect for animals that we wish they did. But I trusted Heartland immediately. John also made us some wonderful paw impressions and hair locks. I cannot imagine ever using another service again. Thank you for making such a difficult thing just a little bit easier.

Heartland met us at the facility on a Sunday morning. My dog Bob had died early that morning. I was able to say goodbye to my beloved Bob. When I went to pickup his ashes, I was met by a very kind young man who sat down with me and talked a little about how/what I was going to do with Bob's ashes. He explained to me what to expect if I chose to sprinkle his ashes in my garden. He was so kind. They had made a paw print and saved some of Bob's hair for me. After our dog passed away, we were pretty distraught and had no idea how to handle things. What we did know is we wanted to have him cremated so he wouldn't be left behind when we move someday. Pretty much all the places are priced about the same. What sold me on Heartland Pet Cremation over other facilities was when I spoke to them on the phone they were far more concerned with how we were doing instead of making the sale. Heartland Pet Cremation was patient and helpful throughout our sweet baby’s last few weeks. We had gone back and forth with end of life decisions resulting in many on again/off again phone calls to Heartland. When the time came, we knew what to expect. And they worked directly with our vet so there was nothing more we needed to worry about. Everyone at Heartland I spoke to was compassionate and always referred to our beloved by name. Our baby was returned to us as promised in the most beautiful urn with the engraving exactly as we requested. We’ve already recommended them to a dear friend of my husband’s who is in a similar situation. You don’t need to use the cremation company your vet is affiliated with. Words cannot express our gratitude for Heartland Cremation. We lost our beloved dog of 13 years expectantly, and they made brought some sunshine into what was one of the worst days of our lives. They are so very very empathetic and compassionate. They came to my mother’s house at the drop of a hat to pick up her little baby. I highly recommend Heartland Pet. They took care of everything, coming to our house to get our kitty and bringing his remains back home. We lost our furbaby of 14 years without warning and were in shock. There was no way I could drive anywhere. Heartland Pet worked with us quickly and helped us make arrangements over the phone. They came very quickly that morning, on a Saturday and took care of our pet lovingly. They even called us 15 minutes ahead as I asked so I could make sure our kids got one last hug/pet and felt ready. They arrived in a nice van and placed our kitty gently inside. Everyone we interacted with through Heartland was compassionate. They were great with communication and brought back the remains within 3 days along with a few keepsakes. Our beloved family cat passed away overnight in February 2022, and I called Heartland Pet Cremation on a Friday morning to make arrangements for her. The representative we spoke to was very compassionate and understanding; we met him in the facility's parking lot to transfer our cat's remains early that day, and they had her ashes and keepsakes ready for us to pick up the following morning on Saturday. Losing a pet is never easy, and it's even more painful when your children are young and very attached. Heartland Pet Cremation helped us by making a painful situation at least a little more bearable, and we very much appreciated their service and professionalism, as well as their empathy.

I just used them for the third time over the past five years. All of my experiences have been great. They are so comforting about the situation and make me feel like they really understand what I am going through. Most recently, our cat was put down on a Saturday morning and Heartland had someone to the vet within an hour of my call. When we suddenly lost our 13 year old dog Gunnar - we were devastated! Our 16 year old, didn't remember a life without him. I had been working from home for a year and spent everyday, all day with him. We still struggle with the loss however I don't know how we would have gotten through the first few days without those at Heartland. We knew he had to be put down and having to make the drive from the vet to Heartland with him was more than we could handle. They were extremely responsive and were able to pick him up the same day we reached out. Once the process was completed, I received a call that he was ready to be picked up. Due to Covid, I had to remain in my car and they brought him out. I was greeted by John who was professional, compassionate and genuine. He expressed his condolences and even took time to talk about how to help our daughter get through the loss. For now, I'm done with fur babies as the loss was so difficult but should I ever need this type of service again, I will only go to Heartland.

My family paid for an urn, a hair clipping and a paw print. We only received the urn and the paw print. If you’re asked to go through Heartland to cremate your dog.. I would not recommend it. They are very unprofessional and claimed that they had nothing to do with my dog not receiving the hair clipping. The veterinary place and heartland played the blame game and no one ever took responsibility for their actions. We were promised to get something we paid for and never received it. My family and I are under distress and the disrespect of Dr. Pamela Clary is unbelievable and has made this process much more difficult. How can you disrespect your clients like that? Please do not take your pet here! I promise there are much better places to take your pet!@heartland. There was no miscommunication from my family. We made it very clear what we wanted and you guys and the veterinarian clinic expressed to us that it was very clear of what we wanted done to our dog. Sorry to inform you but Heartland did not take full responsibility for any of their part in this cremation. You guys played the blame game as I stated before. I understand you guys have different services, we didn’t get the service that we asked for and you both know that. Do I need to remind you that it is stated on your website that your basic service includes an basic urn and a paw print with fur clippings in an soft velvet bag. Please refer back to your website if you’re still in denial.UPDATE: After Google notified me that over a thousand people have seen my review I noticed that this company was responding to bad reviews stating that it had something to do with my family. EXCELLENT EXPERIENCE: They came and picked up my dog out of my yard and gently put him on a tartan blanket that was on a stretcher and covered him. Summarily, they returned his ashes and collar to me within a few days. Heartland even made a paw print -- I found that very moving and quite unexpected. Truly a gem of an experience.

We made it very clear what we wanted and you guys and the veterinarian clinic expressed to us that it was very clear of what we wanted done to our dog. Sorry to inform you but Heartland did not take full responsibility for any of their part in this cremation. You guys played the blame game as I stated before. I understand you guys have different services, we didn’t get the service that we asked for and you both know that. Do I need to remind you that it is stated on your website that your basic service includes an basic urn and a paw print with fur clippings in an soft velvet bag. Please refer back to your website if you’re still in denial.UPDATE: After Google notified me that over a thousand people have seen my review I noticed that this company was responding to bad reviews stating that it had something to do with my family. Absolutely wonderful people and company. I've used them twice, a few years apart, for two of my large dogs (100lbs and 150lbs). Each time I had them come to my house to pick them up, and each time they offered to bring a second person if I was unable to assist with getting my dog(s) on the stretcher and help carry them to their car. I had both cremated and had the option of picking up their cremains from a location closer to my house. The people I talked to, from my initial phone call, the person who picked up my dogs, and the person that gave me their cremains at their downtown office all made a very difficult and emotional time made it as easy as possible. They are simply the best and most supportive people I could have hoped for.

EXCELLENT EXPERIENCE: They came and picked up my dog out of my yard and gently put him on a tartan blanket that was on a stretcher and covered him. Summarily, they returned his ashes and collar to me within a few days. Heartland even made a paw print -- I found that very moving and quite unexpected. Truly a gem of an experience.

Honestly I am not kidding, this is the place to go, the way that man spoke to me and made eye contact and had so much care when I was grieving it’s like he knew exactly what I was going through and that acknowledgement and care was everything, and I wouldn’t want anyone else handling my baby. I’d trust him with just about anything. I’d give them all my business if it didn’t mean another pet would have to die. I mean the front desk was okay but when I was handling stuff in the back is where the 5 stars is coming from. My wife and I had to put our 13 year old boxer down two years ago. You know the day will eventually come but there is no way you can prepare yourself. It was so incredibly sad and was quite a struggle. What got us through this was knowing we did everything we could for Jagger until she passed and the last thing we did was take her to Heartland Pet Cremation. Taking her there provided us with comfort she was properly cremated and in good hands the entire time. They are very kind and thoughtful and will take the utmost care with your animals.We were faced with the difficult decision this past week with letting go of a furry family member of ours Weezy. With the challenging past year trying to keep her comfortable and happy when we were towards the end it was comforting and a huge relief to be able to rely on @Heartland Pet Cremation in Weezy final days. They were available on a moments notice with no question, sympathized with my family over our loss, and were so respectful when treating our lost family member. They are also local St Louis Family that has been in business for generations and are loving pet owners themselves. We made arrangements to drop Scully off at 9am. Upon meeting with John he was super professional and caring. I arrived home from work to discovered our beloved Chelsea had passed away. She was only 12 and in good health, so her death was quite a shock. I searched online and found Heartland Pet Cremation was the only pet cremation service in the city. I called and talked to Justin, he was caring and empathetic as he explained the services Heartland provides. John arrived later this that day to pick up our "baby" and was as equally caring and compassionate as Justin. John gave us all the time we wanted to say goodbye. Losing a pet after 14 years is obviously not an easy thing but because of the professionalism, courage and sincere sympathy from the folks at Heartland Pet Cremation I am now able to share 14+ more years of memories with Kayla because of her ashes and a really awesome paw-print mold that Heartland prepared for me. Heartland Pet Cremation certainly gets my thumbs up of approval.
