Customer Reviews Summary
Heavenly Paws is highly praised for its compassionate service and professionalism during difficult times of pet loss. Many reviews highlight the kindness and support provided by Peggy and Dr. Sam, particularly during in-home euthanasia and cremation services. However, there are some concerns regarding transparency in pricing and certain practices that some customers found insensitive.

We lost our young cat almost two weeks ago very unexpectedly and called Peggy for a cremation. She was lovely and kind, but a few things rubbed me the wrong way long enough to prompt me to leave a review, which I have never done. I understand that this is a business, but we were asked if we wanted any other memorabilia 3 times by Peggy. Once on the phone immediately after scheduling, and twice in person. Losing a pet unexpectedly is horrific, and feeling like you are being sold more things for profit during that process was frustrating and insensitive. Additionally, she asked if we wanted some of our cats hair to keep. We said yes, thinking that this would be done before the cremation privately. Instead, without warning only days after our pet passed away, she opened the box that she was in and started to cut the hair off of her. For some reason, the lack of explanation and bedside manner was traumatizing and should be noted in the future. Grief is not the same for everyone, but I donβt think many owners would appreciate this act happening without even asking. Once again, Peggy was not rude or unpleasant, just unaware. We are grateful to heavenly paws, and just want to see them do better!

If I could give Peggy and Dr. Sam 10 stars, I would. It s been 7 months since the love of our lives was euthanized on his bed surrounded by his loved ones. I have tried to send this review, but every time I think of our Huck, I get very sad and must refocus on the present positives. Peggy and Dr. Sam, I can't imagine getting through the difficult moments with anyone else.Peggy checked in with me every week after I contacted her about this service to see how we and Huck were doing. When we knew it was time, she managed to get Dr. Sam that same night. You provide exemplary, yet affordable care at this difficult time.Thank you. π

I want to thank the staff for being so kind and compassionate to my friend whose dog passed this morning. Super sad the vet wouldnβt help him pass with less pain. You helped my friend to allowed her pup to be taken care of properly with no judgment. Thank you again for being kind. Cooper Bradley you were the best boy.

Five stars isn't enough for Heavenly Paws! Peggy and Dr Sam were absolutely amazing and made the process so peaceful and stress free from beginning to end for us and our 13 year old Westie Crissy. I truly can't thank them enough! Having the home euthanasia was not only much easier on our Crissy but also her litter mate Bob because he was able to be by her side and see that she was no longer with us. β€ πΎ π

Thank you Heavenly Paws for helping us through the sudden and unexpected loss of our family pup. Peggy showed warm compassion as we discussed a variety of options for making final arrangements and keepsakes. When the time comes to say goodbye, I recommend Heavenly Paws for all beloved pets in Minnesota.

Heavenly Paws did a wonderful job when we had to say goodbye to our Jasper. Peggy was compassionate and incredibly helpful during our difficult time and choosing when to say goodbye. We chose in home euthanasia and private cremation with them and I wouldn't do it any other way in the future. Dr. Sam was wonderful, we shared stories about our dog and were not rushed in saying goodbye. It was very peaceful. And a week later we were able to pick up our Jasper again and bring him home. The extra clay paw print they offer is worth it, a unique memento to have. We are grateful we found them and would recommend them to anyone needing the same service. Thank you Heavenly Paws.

My roommate's dog passed away so suddenly and I cherished her like my own niece, they do an excellent job here. Pricing is good, the memorkes they help share with your pet is remarkable. It brought joy to my heart knowing our pet is with us always. π And their environment is beautiful πΉ

We had a great experience at Heavenly Paws. Peggy was kind and compassionate when going through the process of losing our adored dog. She was prompt with calls and made sure the process was smooth on all accounts. Thank you so much for helping us through this difficult time. Highly recommend!

We highly recommend Heavenly Paws! It was the most peaceful experience we have ever had when that time comes. Our bi-polar (as we always called him) cat was the first to greet anyone at the door, but pay any attention to him & he could turn on you. He was very faithful, loving & cuddly to those he knew well. Dr. Kalina & Amy came to our house & he was the best & most accepting cat towards them. They were exceptional with him & with us. He went more peacefully than I could have imagined & with no stress. I couldn't imagine any other way to say goodbye after this experience.

We had to put Sandy down, our golden retriever after she was diagnosed with cancer. Contacted Peggy and she was very empathetic with us and our situation. Dr. Dan came out to our place and put Sandy to sleep with no issues and was very empathetic and talked us through everything. Peggy has also followed up with us afterwards to make sure we are doing okay. I highly recommend Heavenly Paws if you have a situation like we did. We can't thank you enough Peggy for helping us through this delicate time.

We used Heavenly Paws/Lake Country Vet Service when it was time for our sweet 18 year old cat "Train" to be euthanized. I highly recommend using the in-home euthanasia service. It was such a blessing to have Dr. Sam come to our home instead of that last terrifying trip to the vet be the last memory we had of our cat. Dr. Sam was kind, understanding, and so professional. He explained everything and made the worst part of saying goodbye to our pet the best experience possible. He took our cat with him when he left and within a week we received the call from Peggy that our pet's remains were ready for pick-up. It was wonderful to not have to venture out to take care of any of this when we were feeling so sad. This is truly a wonderful service and we appreciate the kindness and compassion shown to us by these two services. Thank you Heavenly Paws and Lake Country Vet Service!

The best decision we made. Peggy was wonderful to work with during this difficult time. We had to say goodbye to our first dog and I never realized how hard it is till now. I wouldnβt do this in any other way. It was so nice that my dog bear got to stay at home where he is more comfortable. Our other 2 dogs got to also say goodbye. DR. Dan was fabulous. Both Peggy and Dr. Dan explained the process and was very patient. The cremation was completed quickly. We received a certificate and purchase the broken heart. I highly recommend heavenly paws. Thank you Peggy and Dr. Dan!

I had to euthanize my dog Deuce last Saturday. He passed peacefully at home. I was treated well by both Peggy and Dr.Sam. It is so painful to lose your pet. I was treated very kindly. The whole process went smoothly. Thank you Heavenly paws for running a business dedicated to helping people and their furr babies. I am grateful that this business exists! I canβt even describe how thankful I am. I was treated how a human being should be treated during such a tough time. Dr. Sam was so amazing and gave me a lot of comfort while my heart was in so much pain. You can tell he loves his job. I got to pick out necklaces for my family that wanted a piece of my Deuce with them forever. Peggy was very patient while I struggled to choose the necklaces that felt right. My deucey boy was treated with so much respect, as was I. I highly recommend this business to anybody that is having to make the hard decision to say good bye to their pet. β€οΈ

About one year ago, we met Peggy at Heavenly Paws, and she treated us, our kitty, and the process as a whole with the highest level of compassion and respect. So, when our best and longest buddy, Tank, passed away we knew we needed to call Peggy again. Even though we live in St. Paul now, we decided to make the trip because we knew what amazing treatment we would all receive.I highly recommend Heavenly Paws.

What a great organization. Such a smooth process! I called and got in right away. Dr Craig was amazing. He came out to our home where our dog Gunner felt most at ease! Gunner was out on our deck .. loved the outside and had no problems with doing it there! Dr Craig took his time. We didn't feel rushed at all through this process! They called me 24 hours after getting Gunner euthanized and he was ready to come home! Wow! So amazing! Highly recommend this place! So caring!

We unfortunately had 2 dogs pass away within months of each other and both times Peggy was so compassionate and helpful. The facility was easy to find as I wanted to bring my fur babies myself. She does pick up at vet clinics if you wish too. Peggy has a flower garden also that you can spread ashes there if you wish and visit anytime. Thanks for helping us make some of our decisions easier.

But we knew it was best for our girl.We chose to take her to Heavenly Paws, her final moments were under the gazebo outside where it was very peaceful.Thank you Peggy and Dr Dan

We lost our best friend Molly on 9/25/19. Peggy at Heavenly Paws and Dr. Dan were incredible. We chose euthanasia at home and it was a great choice. Dr. Dan was very informative about the procedure and brought to our attention what may or may not happen thru the process. He was very respectful with us and our sweet Molly. I would recommend this to every family out there. He transported Molly to Heavenly Paws where she was cremated. I picked up her ashes and met Peggy personally. She also was very caring and considerate. Heavenly Paws, Peggy and Dr. Dan made this the best experience possible.

Peggy offered comfort before, during and after the extremely difficult time of losing our boy. She was always available for all of our questions and concerns, even the ones we didnβt know to ask! We lost our German Shepherd βRangerβ who loved our family and those who came to visit our home.As an older dog Ranger provided for my familyβs protection while I was deployed to Iraq. He developed a tumor in his spine the month I returned and lost mobility of his hind legs. While we did our best to assist his mobility Ranger knew it was his time to go. Ranger was a member of our family and needed the dignity to die at home. We elected for in-home euthanasia and the services of Heavenly Paws Pet Cremation.Peggy at Heavenly Paws in St Augusta assisted my grieving family through and healing process knowing he would be cremated and his ashes would be scattered in their garden with other animals. Peggy honored our family and relationship with Ranger with the utmost respect and compassion for our loss. I highly recommend Heavenly Paws pet cremation and their in-home euthanasia as a end-of-life option for your loving pet.Brady

When the decision was made this week that it was time for our beloved Golden to head to the Rainbow Bridge, I reached out to Heavenly Paws. I was thankful they offered in home euthanasia along with transport to their facility. This was a traumatic enough event without having to then drive somewhere. Dr Dan Minke, whom I had never met, was so compassionate and understanding. He made this extremely sad situation a bit more tolerable. Thank you Heavenly Paws and Dr Dan - Meggie is now playing at the bridge and waiting to once again greet us.

Heavenly Paws, thank you for making such a hard time easier. We lost our sweet Miley on April 7th, between 4-6am. We called to make an appointment and she was able to get us in at 9am the same morning. Peggy was super supportive and gave us the time we needed to pick out the urn and keychains and also gave us extra time to say our last goodbyes. April 9th was Mileyβs birthday. When we got the call that she was ready, I insisted I go pick her up so we could have her back for the last 4 hours of her birthday. Peggy met me at the shop at 8:15 and again was so supportive. Heavenly paws is a great place to bring your loved one to have a small ceremony and the turn time was great and we got Miley back in a little over 48 hours. Such an awesome place, I highly recommend to make the worst days a little better.

Terrible phone call experience. I called to get information on putting my dog down. I was sad and upset and while on the phone call my phone was disconnecting and I couldnβt hear anything so I hung up went outside to call again the lady calls me back and with a nasty attitude says why did you hang up on me that was rude of you. I was surprised at this comment and told her I was having issues with my phone connection and hearing and she said you should have told me that. How am I suppose to tell her that when my connection was bad. Then she asks me rudely where are you calling from. I told her Florida and she rudely told me she was in Minnesota. I typed Saint Cloud animal hospital and this was the 1st place to pop up I never thought to check fl, mn at the end. Anyways a small mistake when trying to find a place to put my dog down when calling 20 + places. If she is part of the staff Iβm sorry to all other people who have to deal with that. When youβre calling for information on putting a family dog down, you are sad upset hurt and this is not some thing you should be dealing with. I end up finding a wonderful place in St. Cloud Florida that made this experience for me pleasant . The lady who answered the phone if she is staff, she needs a attitude adjustment and she needs a how to be sympathetic training class.

Heavenly Paws did a great job working with us to say goodbye to our 14yr old pup. The doctor was very thorough in explaining each step of the process and they handled what can be a difficult experience with grace and dignity. Thier location is a very peaceful place to say goodbye. Highly recommend!

The vet forgot about us. When we called the vet because they were suppose to show up at 2 and it was then 230 the vet apparently forgot where we lived. It was hours before they came.To me no one should ever forget about a suffering pet.

I had to say goodbye to my sweet cat Lily last Friday, and I am so impressed by the service I received. I chatted with Peggy, and she was very kind and sympathetic, and found me a vet within the same day. Dr. Jenny was SO kind and gentle with my cat, and I appreciated that she explained everything to me step by step, so nothing was a shock. I highly recommend in home euthanasia. As difficult as it is, itβs soothing to know that your pet crossed over peacefully in their happy place instead of anxious and uncomfortable at the vet. Lilyβs ashes will be spread in their memorial garden, and I think thatβs such a beautiful way to remember her.

Peggy and Dr Dan were so awesome. We were so comforted to know that they have in home euthanasia service. It was the best thing for us and our beloved little Billie. He was a 17 year old bichon-poo. Thank you!!

Hi Peggy,I just wanted you to know that calling you was the best thing I did to coordinate Sadieβs last moments of life. Dr. Sam was phenomenal, professional, and compassionate. You definitely excel at the service you provide and I want to recognize you for that. Sadie is peacefully buried next to her predecessor (previous family dog). You and Dr. Sam made a difficult experience less painful and helped guide through this process. Thanks so very much.Ron and Debbie Topinka

The staff at Heavenly Paws made the process of letting go our family pet much easier. From helping us set up the veterinarian to come to our home and all the steps of the cremation process. The garden area is a great place to visit your pet and see the flowers and remember. Thanks again
