No one wants to plan a funeral. It is hard with lots of decisions to make when you are not in the right frame of mind to be making them. Eryc was amazing to work with. He made the process as easy as possible. His kindness, compassion, patience and understanding were exactly what was needed during a very difficult time. He walked everyone through the process and answered all the questions. The staff at Phillips is amazing. It has to be a very stressful job yet everyone was as sweet as could be. We can't thank you enough for being there during this difficult time.

Joe Tavormina assisted us with our arrangements and was so helpful, kind, an engaging. We first met Joe and the Phillips team when they came to the home of our beloved mother/grandmother after she unexpectedly, but peacefully passed away in her home. They were respectful and kind as they thoughtfully handled that night's emotional experience, and explained what we should expect in the coming days. Because our loss was unexpected, we were not prepared and did not know how to proceed. Joe took the time to understand our needs and to offer solutions that fit within our budget. He also provided us with some useful information we needed to manage the estate. Phillips is a beautiful and well managed small-town funeral home located in Downtown South Lyon. I highly recommend Phillips Funeral Home and will consider them for future arrangements.

When my father passed away it was a difficult time for our family. The thought of planning the visitation, service, luncheons, procession to the grave site, the obituary, etc... was overwhelming while we were also grieving. Losing a loved one is hard enough. But when you walk in to Phillips funeral home in downtown South Lyon. Do you feel like you instantly connect with family. And the family that I am talking about are the wonderful directors of Phillips funeral home. Our experience with Eryc was just that. I would highly recommend Phillips funeral home to anyone. This is not our first time with dealing with them. But when we lost my husband’s brother, two months ago, it was extremely hard on us. We pre-plan his funeral with him here with us. Eryc sat down with us at our home and I went over all the options with my brother-in-law present.Phillips funeral home also offers the opportunity to order your head stone right there. Which was really convenient for us. We even needed some things notarized after the passing of my brother-in-law, and they were very helpful with that as well.So, would I recommend Phillips funeral home to anyone absolutely yes!!!!Once again, thank you to Eryc and the staff at Phillips for making us feel like family during a difficult time.

Phillips did a wonderful job with my father's funeral. Eryk, one of the directors, helped us with the whole process and helped us tremendously with such kindness. They are also very easy to communicate with, accommodated all our requests, they did a great job live streaming the service for out of town relatives. It's such a sad and challenging time and nobody wants to plan a funeral but Phillips made it easier for us and the service was really nice. They did a good job with decorating the room with flowers we received, providing picture boards to celebrate my dad's life and playing all our requested music.

My extended family has used Phillips funeral home for all services for more than a decade. A few weeks ago I found myself calling Phillips to make arrangements for my mother's services. Matthew Scheffler was our coordinator. In every aspect an outstanding rating was not high enough, their services were truly Superior. Matt's intuitiveness and thoughtfulness guided us through every aspect even anticipating and answering questions we didn't even know how to ask. It was as if Matt had known my mother personally and made her service truly unique to her and us in every way. I would recommend Phillips Funeral Home to anyone. Eryc and Joe were off the scale in what they did for me and my family. They did everything they said they would do and when I asked for thinks out of the ordinary their first response was, let me see what I can do. The words we don't or can't do that never came up. If i could give them a 10 star rating I'd do it. It made the service for my wife more than comfortable. Well done Eryc and Joes.

Eryc did a wonderful job walking us through everything and put us at ease at a time when we had nothing planned ahead. When information was sent to them (obit, photo, video, etc.) they put it up on the website almost immediately, even late at night on a Saturday. We were so impressed with their professionalism and they set everything up so beautifully. We were all very comfortable and had access to a nice break room upstairs with a refrigerator and single cup coffee maker. We’re so glad we did the online streaming - we know many people who watched it after the fact, when it was more convenient for them. Thank you to all involved in this top notch experience!

The Philips Funeral Home staff could not have been more compassionate and patient with us during this most difficult time with the passing of my dear father. I never wanted to face this day losing my best friend. Joe T and the staff were so understanding, kind, sincere, patient. We never felt rushed. They are very knowledgeable and helped us so much. Joe T was always there for us, even after hours, to answer any questions that we had. You do feel like you are with family when going through this process with them. They were with us all the way even at the burial in the Great Lakes National Military Cemetery that had to be a week later. I would highly recommend Philips Funeral Home to anyone, anytime. We worked with Matt Sheffler whose words were always "don't worry about it, I'll take care of it"...and he did; every time! I am beyond impressed with Phillips Funeral home. We have used them twice, for my grandfather and my father. My father passed about 2 months ago, his birthday was last week (a month after passing) and they send a white rose. I was so impressed with the generosity, and the thoughtfulness behind the gesture. It seems really weird and odd to rate a funeral home as a 5, because you are going to them at your absolute worst, but we were taken care of. The staff was attentive, caring, and very responsive. They listened to what we wanted. I know it's not something you want to recommend to anyone, but they treated us with respect and the upmost care. We really appreciate them not taking advantage of us and trying to get us to spend more money than necessary. They even looked out for us in regards to the cost of posting an obituary in the news paper.Thank you for being so caring and respectful at our worst.
