Customer Reviews Summary
Cadillac Memorial Gardens East has received mixed reviews from customers. While some praise the compassionate service and helpful staff, others express dissatisfaction with the high costs, poor maintenance of the grounds, and lack of respect shown during difficult times. The facility is described as beautiful, but several reviews highlight significant issues with customer service and transparency in pricing.

I chose Cadillac Memorial Gardens East as the final resting place for my husband and daughter 10 years ago. I chose this property because it's beautiful and full of life. I wanted them to be somewhere that had a vast variety of monuments for loved ones. People walking about. Sweet little bunnies, deer and other nature. It is truly peaceful. Today I went to the office with a concern. Everyone was so kind. I must say that the family service manager Mr. David Caniff met my concern and took care of it immediately. I am very grateful for the kindness he showed and his professionalism. Thank you so much David.Respectfully, Dollie

We went there with no information, where graves were, except for the names of people we were looking for. Steve, in the office was very efficient in telling us where the graves were. And two very nice gentlemen (Gus and Eddie), went far and above to help lift the stone and get the ,vase out of us two women can mark the graves for the rest of the family to be able to visit. Thank you very to the employees at Cadillac Gardens.Kathy and Jan

They charge an arm and a leg to bury your loved ones. From funeral homes, florists , etc... they all told us to stay AWAY from there. They will rob you by taking advantage of your grief. ๐กResurrection Cemetery down the road charges half the cost and they are four times bigger. So if you're thinking of laying a loved one to peace, I STRONGLY suggest that you go elsewhere!!We provided everything for an love one cremation except digging the hole which as I saw was barely 2 feet down and they charged us almost $3,300.00! I would rather be flushed with the toilet (I want to be cremated) than to be buried here!

I am so disappointed with the way the grounds are maintained. I have ask at least 4 times to have our family headstones raised. Some of them are so overgrown with sod they are barely visible. They did straighten and raise my husbands headstone, but did not take care to remove the dirt and sod around it. The plot itself is still uneven. When he was buried 2 years ago the dirt was never smoothed out. Very sad.

Many family members are buried here. I went to place flowers on all their graves in October 2021 and the grave markers were all covered with grass โฆ no cones for flowers โฆ and the place seemed abandoned and poorly maintained. I feel like my family deserves better. I pushed away the grasses the best I could without the proper tools at hand.

The staff at Cadillac Memorial Gardens East went above and beyond in helping us locate our relatives! Katie was so kind and helpful! She definitely went the extra mile!David was equally helpful and took time to explain things. While doing our family geneology we have dealt with several cemeteries and this one is absolutely fantastic!

Your representative Frankeyta Tubbs acknowleged me immediately in the office when she came in and without hesitation ask me to accompany her in her office and asked how she could be of help. She was very professional and on our drive around the premises she was very informed on locations of where the niches were located the history and details of each that would or would not apply to what I was looking for. Frankeyta also went over in detail the pricing, offers etc when she wrote it up. Frankeyta made my visit very pleasant. Thank you. Frankeyta

The need arose to bury a loved one in a plot I've owned for over 40 years. I've moved numerous times since then and needless to say it was time for an account update. I live out of state so my initial contact was by email with Steve Smith who was very helpful. A month later, while in Michigan, I sat down with Carolyn Sedrowski and she was amazing. Personable & professional and answered all additional questions regarding my account and burial options. Lots of family & friends are here and I have great trust in their care with CGME.

Extremely poor customer service. I stopped in the the office two months ago. I spoke with Norman and one other gentlemen who I can't recall. Norman was the better of the two but still not great. They had no idea what the Care Memorial Society was. I showed them the wallet card that I have and neither of them were familiar with it an did not seem interested in finding out. They had the opportunity to make a copy of my card and could had researched, but no such luck. I asked a few other questions that they could not answer and left my number with them. As of today, I have not received a call back. Also I was told that it cost $1,500.00 to add the ashes to the Niche which is a crime in itself. When the niche was purchased, we were told there would be no other cost, which is why my mother purchased as she is on a fixed income. All they do is lie and cheat. Also, the grounds are unkept, debris/garbage everywhere, no trach cans, rotting wood, graves covered over. Just despicable. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH ANY CADILLAC MEMORIAL LOCATION!

My brother passed away last April 16, 2016. Melissa was awesome. She was truly helpful, sincere, & made sure my brother's site was well taken care of when I couldn't make it out. She went above and beyond. I love the cemetery, the staff, & the groundskeepers. This last year was very difficult on me, but Cadillac Memorial Gardens helped me get through it and were very compassionate and understanding.

I am sad to see many poor reviews of this cemetery. Both my grandparents are buried here (this was because he was a Veteran, otherwise they probably would have been buried elsewhere by other family), but all I have ever experienced is a very nice and peaceful place. I also have a friend buried here and have heard of no problems. I also was treated nicely when inquiring the location of my past friend's grave. I will note, today while I decided to ride my bike up to my grandparent's graves, I witnessed someone drive right through the grass to leave onto 17 Mile Road as there is no fence. Even though it looked like there were no grave stones in that area (couldn't tell from the distance), I felt it was super disrespectful. The cemetery may want to consider placing more roth iron fencing along open areas to prevent this. Otherwise, I have no issues.

I wish I could give zero stars. I have never been treated with such total disrespect and callousness by people who you'd think would have been trained to show compassion.Over the years my husband and I have brought a half dozen cats here to be cremated and have recommended the services to hundreds of our friends and families. We were also considering being buried here ourselves (they have both human and pet sections at the cemetery.) I'm not sure if there was a change in ownership or what has happened, but apparently their policies have changed and the employees up front have changed, all for the worse.I called at 2:35 and was told I needed to be there by 3 pm to have my deceased cat cremated. I arrived at 3:02 pm and walked into the office with my cat's remains in a small cardboard box. There was no one in the office. Ann, an older well dressed African American woman, came in from outside and asked if she could help me. I told her I had called and why I was there. She didn't offer any words of sympathy, instead she told me I'd have to take the pet outside because of health code regulations. In all my years of coming here, that had never been the case. She ushered me outside where I stood talking to her from across the office. She said she also wasn't sure if they could help me because of the time. I looked at my cell phone and told her it was 3:02 and I had been told to be there by 3 pm when I called. She left and walked back into the back office. I felt horrible standing outside with my box so I came inside and sat down at one of the desks with the cardboard box on the table, like I had done all the times before (including just a few months before when I brought my friend and her beloved cat here for service).Five or so minutes went by, and a younger African American woman named Cassandra came into the office. She asked how my day was going. What a stupid question to ask someone who obviously has just lost a pet. I told her "not so great" and motioned to the box. I also expressed discontent over how I had been treated by Ann. Cassandra didn't apologize and said in a curt tone of voice "our policies have changed" and said the woman who had told me 3 pm when I called was incorrect, that I needed to have been there by 2:30.She was clearly turning me away, making no effort to try to accommodate me. My guess is that it was Friday afternoon and she was more concerned about closing up the office than accommodating a longtime customer. I left and went out to my car and cried.I can't believe this is how they treat people who have experienced loss. I plan to spread the word among my previously referred friends and family to take their business elsewhere, both human and pet.

Some many places to start with this 0 star review. My grandmother, a World War Two veteran, has had no marker to show her finally resting place since 1997. Three years in trying to have a marker placed have been detailed by these people who run the show at this cemetery. After paying what can only be described as an extortion fee by everyone in my family still no marker placed.Trust me and my families experience do NOT place love ones remains here. You will regret it.

I had an absolutely phenomenal experience working with Alex Castonguay to help plan the service for my loved one who passed away. Alex was very kind, professional, and answered all my questions about the possible options to choose from. The memorial service went off with no issues and was exactly what my loved one would have wanted. I would highly recommend working with the staff here, especially Alex Castonguay.

My grandfather was buried 2 days before Christmas. His burial vault was above ground and placed haphazardly next to his freshly dug grave (which was not covered in any way). They shoved his casket in a minivan and drove it (on top of other graves) to his final resting place. I guess we didnt need pall bearers after all. There was no casket lowering device setup, no canopy for our loved ones to stand under. The back hoe and truck full of dirt were parked right next to his grave with workers were still inside of it as our Pastor said his final words. No privacy or common respect for the dead or living was present. Our family has nothing positive to say about the burial services of our beloved father, grandfather, husband and friend. Losing a loved one, especially that close to a holiday, is difficult enough. The mistreatment at Cadillac Memorial Gardens East made this trying time for our family even worse. My grandparents plots have been purchased since the 1960's. Absolutely dispicable.

First time here. I had to drive around the outside of area to figure out how to get in off of main roads...perhaps I missed an entrance? Not sure but all I know is that the main entrance is at an Intersection and I was not able to go across and turn left! There is a huge no turn left sign on the street and on the traffic light but it was not easy for me to get in. Just a heads up! Lol...however...Inside was absolutely gorgeous. Beautiful grounds, well kept, quiet (obviously) but no noise from main road. Many many sections and gardens. I was able to locate the gravesite because I was on the phone with my Uncle. If this is your first time looking for a site, I would suggest calling a relative or the main office. I did not go in main office but it is right there in front. Easy access. I did not see many peoe but the grounds keepers were very respectful and kind to me as a visitor. I'm very glad I went here today. Very healing grounds.

Wow! Where is the perpetual care that they rave about??? Drastic opposite from Resurrection Cemetery nearby. Just there this morning and then went to CMGE to check on graves of family. More families need to see the state their loved ones grave are in. ๐

Generally, the staff is helpful, but when you do simple things like ask them not to sell or rent your name, they ignore your request and blame corporate. Also, their guidelines are more like commands from a burning bush. They will never deviate even the least from what they perceive to be a command from God, Himself. But hey, at least they let people disrespect the cemetery playing Pokemon Go.

I love this place. Have more than one loved one that calls this their "forever home". And as for care and respect of my loved ones I appreciate what they do

My dad, mom and sister are buried there. This is an excellent place. My older sister and I went to visit and the staff took my sister out to the graves on their golf cart because couldn't walk that far because of cancer. They were great!

The Most Disrespect I have ever experianced in my entire life--- Not did they only MISPLACE my fathers body 25 years ago they misplaced my mother in laws body and mismarked the grave 30 years ago -- I understand it is not the current owners fault but they refuse to do anything for the family even move the mismarked grave stone or notify the other families involved. The story is so deep and horrible you cant believe it now we can not place my father in law because we are not sure where anyone really is. I would STRONGLY discourage anyone from EVERY using this HORRIBLE company MMG Midwest Memorial Gardens are liars, thieves and ZERO respect for the deceased or the living family members are even worse and now they are destroying the precious things that people leave near the graves. I could understand if it was a problem but they dont even trim around it-- The People that have this issue should band together and file a class action lawsuit and bring the state in for the mismanagement of this company HORRIBLE JUST HORRIBLE . I can be sure not one of those employees have loved ones there! Trust me this will not be the last you hear from me!!

There have been a few instances at Cadillac Menorial Gardens East that have appaled me, like when thay called my Mom and asked to speak to my Father regarding some plots....except, we buried him THERE less than a year ago!!! Seroiusly, thanks for bringing back the pain of losing him. We put a wreath on his grave at Christmas, only to be told if we didn't purchase it from them, it would be removed if we didn't buy a band to put on it....nice extortion. Today, on Memorial day, they had both entrances and exits blocked by people selling souviners and snacks...on the INSIDE of the gates, there was no way around, you were stuck there waiting to get in!!! If you don't want unnecessary stress and pain, go elsewhere.

Went to go visit a loved one in the outdoor mausoleum and the smell hitting u was horrible! I would hope that this issue gets fixed! This is very unprofessional and the smell makes u want to vomit!! The indoor graves seem well maintaned but they had one small screen open near the front door on the bottom! Please fix this problem

Wow! Where is the perpetual care that they rave about??? Drastic opposite from Resurrection Cemetery nearby. Just there this morning and then went to CMGE to check on graves of family. More families need to see the state their loved ones grave are in. ๐

My loved ones are in the Greek section. I like the setup of the place, easy to find the location I am looking for. Easy access from both major roads

The new staff and owners are really turning this place around! They show compassion for families when they lose loved ones, and are trying their best to turn the older customers opinions around to be positive. Stop in and see the difference!!!!

These men showed so much compassion and jumped right up to lift my grandparents' gravestone and level their plot. Ed, Larry and Norman, your help was all very much appreciated!! ๐
