Our experience with Joe at Petrichor was unforgettable during such a difficult time. He was compassionate, offering kindness and understanding when we needed it most. Joe made sure to give us the privacy we required, allowing us to grieve without feeling rushed. We also had to change the scheduled time a few times, and Joe was always so patient and accommodating, which we really appreciated. His thoughtfulness and professionalism made a heartbreaking situation much easier to navigate. I highly recommend Petrichor for anyone in need of compassionate care for their beloved pets.

The owners are lovely people and genuinely care about you and your pet. We had to put down our senior cat pretty suddenly and Shannon helped us the same day. They were so gentle with us and worked with us through all of our questions. We got our cat's ashes back quickly and he was handled with care. I am so glad I found Petrichor, I highly recommend their services.

Shannon and her husband were extremely compassionate and professional throughout the whole process of contacting them, dropping off my cat’s remains, and picking up her ashes. Their facility is clean and modern and the entire experience made me feel that they would treat her remains with dignity and respect.

I was waiting for the complete process to leave my review.Let me start by saying from the second Shannon answers the phone they are compassionate and kind and soft spoken and knowledgeable. She gave me telephone numbers of vets to come to the home (if needed) and the vet was amazing as well.She walked me through everything.Then when we came to drop off our dear Binx it’s the same response and respect a funeral home would give a human. A private updated room with calm lighting and an area for your fur baby to say goodbye. She offers space and comfort and time for you to process.She is not at all pushy to get you to buy extra things. It’s totally up to you. She lets you know what they have available and you can choose with no pressure. If you want keepsakes or not it makes no difference you still are treated with so much respect.Then upon pickup you are brought back into the same room and every single thing you bought is explained IN DETAIL.Shannon leaves no stone unturned and this is a small business ran by her and her husband. It was an absolute pleasure to work with them and as much as I don’t want to do this again I know that if the time comes Shannon will be my first call at PETRICHOR.

We recently had to arrange for the aquamation of our beloved cat, and I cannot express how grateful I am for their kindness and support during such a difficult time. Shannon and Joe were incredibly kind and comforting, providing much-needed solace when we needed it most. The entire process of aquamation was handled with such a gentle touch that it brought us immense peace of mind.Their demeanor reassured me that my little cat experienced every step of the process with the utmost care and sensitivity. We also used the fur clipping service, and they beautifully preserved it, offering us an additional source of comfort. I was particularly impressed with how they gently took care of everything, even accommodating some requests that might have seemed a bit demanding. The venue itself was serene and quiet, which was exactly what we needed to say our final goodbyes.Thank you for making such a tough time a little easier to bear. Shannon was so compassionate and understanding, I knew we were in good hands the second she answered the phone. We were able to say goodbye in a respectful way and the space felt peaceful, clean, and comforting. You can tell they are animal lovers and want nothing but the best for your fur babies and you.I have to stress how HONORABLE Shannon and her husband are and how transparent they are about every step.No one wants to have after-life conversations but they are so important. I am grateful my fur-baby got to be put to rest in a way that suited her. The keep sakes are also so sweet and they do them in house custom for your pet.I truly have nothing but good things to say about this small business. Working in the field of grief isn't easy yet they somehow managed to strike a balance of professional and compassionate. <3 Thank you.

We lost our beloved cat Chubby last week & we’re desperate to find a place to get him cremated and we came across Petrichor. They were so incredible. They allowed us to bring him in first thing last Monday morning and gave us all the space and time we needed to say our final goodbyes. Their services are incredibly affordable and they handle these delicate matters with such care. My husband was able to pick up our sweet boy’s remains and keepsake today (Tuesday, barely a week after dropping him off) and the quality of the beautiful paw print they gave us and the care with which they handled the handover with my husband were incredible. They even went out of their way to cut a little heart out of one of my husbands r shirts and place it in the urn with our boy’s remains as his favourite place to lay was on my husbands clothes so we wanted to keep something of his with Chubby. I will absolutely be returning for any future pet cremation needs and I will highly recommend them to anyone I know who may be in need of this important and heartbreaking service.

I have a slightly different journey, but the same feelings to share and had a wonderful experience with PETRICHOR. My father’s chicken passed away on September 2nd. While many might not think much of a chicken, this particular girl held a special place in my heart. When my father first mentioned getting chickens, my response was, No you’re not! If you get chickens, that means I get chickens, and I don’t want chickens!” Lo and behold, twelve little chicks arrived, and I found myself caught up in a daily routine of collecting eggs.Those chickens brought back memories from my father's childhood, and through them, I learned stories I would have never heard otherwise. Over the years, the flock slowly dwindled, leaving just one chicken by May 2022. Tragically, that same month, I lost my father—a heartbreak that shook my world. Ironically, though I had initially resisted the idea of having chickens, this golden girl had stolen my heart. Due to her age, I thought I would have her just into the summer, but as the months rolled by, she remained by my side another year and a half! I truly believe she would have stayed longer if it weren’t for Mother Nature’s call.It feels strange to admit this, but I found myself crying just as much for Ms. Villanelle as I did for my dad. In so many ways, she felt like an extension of him, and having her stick with me through losing my dad brought a sense of peace in the loss of my father.Now, I faced a new challenge: what to do with her remains. I had never heard of anyone cremating a chicken before, and I was unsure how to go about it. My past experiences with losing pets had always involved dogs or cats, and I had assumed only a vet could help with such matters.So, I turned to Google and, to my surprise, found a wonderful service called PETRICHOR. From the very first moment they answered my call, I felt true compassion and understanding. Albeit useful, Google has sent me on some wonky rollercoasters, but they hands down stepped up to the plate with connecting me to this particular match..I discovered that PETRICHOR is a family-owned business. I spoke directly with the husband and wife team at every step, and their warmth and dedication made the process so much easier. Although they hadn’t dealt with a chicken before, they approached the situation with such care and creativity.What they created to honor Ms. Villanelle’s life was truly touching. Both the husband and wife are artists, and they crafted a beautiful etching of her little talon on a piece of slate, along with her name.When I received her back, it was in a lovely carrier, her remains thoughtfully placed in a wooden urn, accompanied by the beautiful etching and a heartfelt note. It was a bittersweet moment, but knowing that she was honored in such a special way brought me comfort.Another mention I would like to make is the affordability. I did not know what to expect in terms of payment, but I have to say they were incredibly reasonable, especially as it pertained to the detail in their handling. I have had this process several times throughout my life with other little companions and what I have received from those experiences seems “mass-produced” rather than personal and thoughtful. Shannon was a comfort during this difficult time. She answered all my questions and explained the Aquamation process. I wanted a more peaceful cremation for my pet. Also, loved that it’s more eco friendly. She communicated with me regularly to ease my anxiety, from picking up from the vet to arriving at their facility. We were considering cremation when our dear kitty died but fortunately found Petrichor Aquamation instead. It was important to us that it is a “greener”, ecologically friendly option. We highly recommend aquamation and give 5 stars for every part of our experience with Petrichor.Communicating with Shannon was very easy. She is an animal lover who really understood what we were going through. The aquamation process and the various options were clearly explained and all our questions were answered. Losing my beloved dog, Zoey, was one of the hardest experiences I've ever faced. After 13 wonderful years together and a courageous 6-month battle with cancer, it was time to say goodbye. I had never gone through this before and didn't know what to expect after scheduling a humane home euthanasia.That's when I found Petrichor and met Shannon. A couple of weeks before the scheduled date, she kindly walked me through their process, explaining how it differed from others. On the day of, Shannon and her husband coordinated with our in-home vet service. I was a wreck, but their compassion and professionalism provided immense comfort during such an incredibly difficult time.Petrichor's attention to detail and genuine care for both Zoey and me made all the difference. Losing my cat companion, Isabella was one of the hardest things I've gone through. I miss her every day, my special girl. Working with Shannon, I understood my pain and was kind and supportive. These folks are a literal Godsend! They are just the people to see when the unthinkable happens. They care. While their business is dealing with the bodies of animals that have passed away, their gift is grief counseling. They take time with you. Don’t be afraid of calling them and going there. They will help. They know. They have been through it personally. Your feelings will be honored. They listen. I will never go to anyone else if I have to go through another loss of an animal companion. I am so grateful to them.
