I had to put my sweet pup Kitsune down suddenly and traumatically on Christmas night, and I had no idea what to expect from a pet cremation service. I was more than pleasantly surprised- I was absolutely blown away. From the kind text from Abby to let me know my lil guy was “ready to come home,” to picking up his beautifully prepared urn, the staff at Trusted Journey/Loving Rest truly put my mind at ease, and took a huge weight off my chest after a really traumatic loss.I got turned around on my way out to Indianola (a bit embarrassing, since I realized once I got there that I actually DID know where it was, but I guess I’ll chalk it up to tears clouding my vision!) and frantically called Abby, who kindly reminded me of where to go, how to get back on track, and even offered to bring my pup right out to my car for me. She was so sweet and friendly, I managed to get halfway home before the tears started again, just because I was so cheered by our pleasant interaction! So, special shoutout to Abby, for making the whole process so easy and painless for me.Now on to the actual service- WOW. The urn is a beautifully carved wooden box with a custom nameplate, and the package includes a certificate of cremation, and a beautifully done plaster cast of Kitsune’s sweet little paw, with his name pressed into it as well. They also included a pamphlet about the grieving process, which I haven’t been able to look at yet, but deeply appreciate. Everything came packaged with care, and really helped me feel like my sweet old pup is really back home, safe and sound.Thank you so much to the whole team at Trusted Journey/Loving Rest, from the bottom of my broken heart, thank you thank, thank you, THANK YOU! And here’s a picture of sweet Kitsune, in his (slightly) younger days!

I want to say that losing your beloved animal is an extremely painful and traumatic event(whether they pass or you have to euthanize). I lost my precious cockapoo: Eli on 4/19/2024. He had just turned 15 years on 3/28/24. He had been misdiagnosed the vet that has seen him for 2.5 yrs. On 4/11 that vet said allergies & reverse snoring with dual ear infection. Within 8 days-Eli wasn’t eating, urine was dark, & he was worse. I took him to a different vet(University of West in WDM, Ia(superb). This vet looked @ his records, listened to my baby(let me listen), & crated his lungs. This cet showed me the xray(lungs shld be black). His lungs were all white, except for 1 small area(less than 1/4) basically suffocating). I euthanized him, part of my heart died when he took his last breath!Trusted Journey Indianola is phenomenal, they carefully handled my Eli with care. The vet office made a mistake with the urn, they brought a different urn to the clinic, and then I moved across the state to be closer to my family. I ended up being allergic to the cedar urn; it was also scratched. I called and spoke with Abby, she replaced, sent the new urn, & it came quickly! I won’t be getting anymore dogs as my heart is in heaven w/ my sweet Eli 3/28/09-4/19/24- but if I did I would have this place cremate because of how amazing they were with my baby. Thank you so very much for caring for him in death.

I recently had to say goodbye to my elderly cat and this is the service that my vet uses for cremation. I was able to choose private cremation and when his ashes were returned, they were accompanied by a certificate to show he'd been privately cremated. His ashes came back in a lovely wooden urn with his pawprints. Thank you for taking good care of my cat's body and returning him to me safely.
