I have had several occasions where I have had to make funeral arrangements, sometimes pre-planned while other times not. Often the circumstances were out of the ordinary, having to wait for services to be held at a later date or in another city. You staff has always been kind, understanding and willing to provide whatever needs and wishes the family has. From Shauna to the office staff to several directors, all are very special to me and my family. I never hesitate to recommend Palmer to anyone, whether they ask or not!

Our loved one passed away unexpectedly in South Bend while visiting, and we had no idea how to manage the situation. Eric took care of all of the arrangements flawlessly and was very communicative throughout the process. Additionally, we had heard of horror stories of funeral homes taking advantage of families out of town with outrageous fees. That did not happen and we are grateful for their service.

I cannot begin to explain how incredibly helpful, compassionate and amazing Kerry Palmer and staff were during my family's incredibly devastating time. Our family (unfortunately) has had to deal with arrangements many times for our loved ones in the past, and this was our family's first time doing arrangements with Palmer. When I tell you it is a total 180 degree difference compared to other places we've dealt with before, I'm not exaggerating. Very honest and upfront, and didn't push to spend money what so ever. When we started to bring up finances, and asked when we should start paying, we were told that it wasn't even a concern yet, and told us not to worry right now. Losing my sister was hard enough without seeing my heart broken parents have to deal with all of this. Palmer Funeral Home handled everything with grace, class and compassion. I will never work with another funeral home. They are in this for the right reasons.

Kellie, tge director we worked with, was absolutely amazing at guiding my brother and I through the process from start to finish. Everybody we were in contact with there was kind, helpful and so sensitive to our needs and feelings. The Palmer staff made a very difficult time a bit easier to navigate. Perfect blend of compassion and professionalism.

We have had Palmers River Park do all my wife's family and just now did my father's service. They are very compassionate people. They let us have 2 hr viewing before cremation with family members. We appreciate that so much. We was on limited budget but they handled everything very reasonable within budget. We will always use Palmers for all our family members. They sent me laminated obituaries without even asking for them. Thank you Palmers you are the best considerate funeral home.

We used Palmer on Mishawaka Ave, South Bend for my son's viewing on Jan.27, 2018. The Palmer staff was phenomenal. There was a line out the door to view my son and because of the large turnout we went over our time. The staff was very patient, understanding, and willing to help with whatever we needed. We are still tying up loose ends and have had to reach out to Elaine at Palmer's. She had and continues to conduct herself in the most sincere manner. Thank you Palmer's for helping us through this tough time.

My father passed away November 20th, 2022. He was in hospice so we did have an idea that it was coming very soon I had never planned a funeral so I didn't know what I was doing. So when my father took the turn and began showing end of life symptoms hospice asked me about funeral arrangements. I didn't know what to do so I knew of Palmer funeral home from growing up in the area. I called on Saturday afternoon and they took down my information and Justin called me Saturday afternoon and answered all questions I could possibly have he gave me a basic rundown of what procedures and what would be. And then when Sunday came and my father passed I told them which funeral home and Justin told me exactly what I needed to say to hospice for the location that he worked at to be involved. On Sunday when everything happened I opted to not be in the room when they picked my father up because it would be just to traumatizing for me Justin reached out to me that day to let me know that they had picked up my father and he absolutely guided me through every single step and was there with me for every step of the way we set up a time Monday for me to come in to start the planning process. He was so kind listened to all of my stories that I told about my dad and generally was very nice and made me feel very comfortable and very confident in what decisions I made I cannot think them enough I had never planned a funeral I didn't know how or and I didn't know what to do but he made sure that I was confident and that I knew what I was doing when it came time for the obituary, his office asked me who I would like to be involved in the obituary and asked if there was any other information that I wanted to put in there my father had a doctor who went above and beyond and when I said I wanted to include him he didn't make me feel like that was wrong he encouraged it and he had a staff right the obituary and in a matter of 20 minutes they wrote a beautiful obituary that really just captured my father's spirit I cannot think this place enough for everything they have done they have reached out to check on me and make sure that I am doing okay and that I didn't need anything obviously the cost was discussed but it was never pushed it was never made me feel like you got to pay right this second or nothing like that they were so kind so polite and so professional and I just want to thank everyone there for everything they've done!

I was made to feel very comfortable dealing with a very sensitive subject. All staff always showed empathy when dealing with me. If I had questions they were always available to answer and assist.

A callous and uncaring attitude was demonstrated at the funeral I attended during COVID. Most attendees were elderly and at higher risk, everyone wore masks EXCEPT THE PALMER EMPLOYEES! I felt unsafe and that they put my family and me at risk. When I said something to one of them they were rude and dismissive.

During the sudden and unexpected death of my brother the whole staff at Palmers made us feel welcome and like family. Donna went out of her way to help us during the whole grieving time to make sure the Family was taking care of.

Don't deserve any stars. Very unprofessional. Not to mention they gave me clothes that belonged to a deceased man I didn't know. Never will do business with Palmer again.

Unprofessional service and forgot to order the headstone we ordered. We had to place a tempor6marker up ourselves. If we hadn't followed up on it, we wouldn't have found out they lost the order.

Very unprofessional and neglecting of needs during such a time of sorrow. Refused to work with me as the only child and one responsible. Only about the money!!! I would never want to experience that again!!! Go anywhere but here!!!
