Nine days shy of seventeen years our cat Mia - my lap companion at morning coffee, or anytime else I was sitting - gave all the signs her time with us was coming to an end. Frustratingly, we were 1200 miles away. I contacted Whispering Willows to arrange a humane end to her pain and suffering. They were so understanding and compassionate. Kate and Nick very quickly had all the arrangements together, on a late Saturday afternoon. It was a great relief knowing Mia would be respectfully cared for.

As sad as having to contact this service is, the situation was handled with care, compassion and timeliness. I was contacted by the owner Kate within minutes of leaving a message of need on their website. She was very helpful at collecting all the necessary information and providing options in such a heartbreaking situation. We had our four legged family member euthanized at home, and she helped set up the process. We had opted to bring our pet in ourselves after the euthanization process and was promptly met at their door by her husband Nick. He was also very compassionate about our loss, and treated our lost family member with the greatest of care and respect. Linnea was very helpful and thorough when we came to pick up the remains. It was nice to have found this company to help us with this entire process so that we could spend our time grieving, and not worrying about the details.

I am forever thankful for Whispering Willows compassion, expertise, and speed in the handling of my Cooper. They provided at home euthanasia that was peaceful, compassionate, and not rushed. It kept Cooper calm, relaxed, and surrounded by the people he loved in the home he loved for his final moments. They were also able to return him cremated on the same day, which was important to me as he’d never spent the night away from family. They also worked with me closely to find urns for Coopers cremains. The entire process, while extremely painful emotionally, went entirely smoothly and better than I could’ve hoped. I highly recommend them.

My daughter lost her beloved childhood cat of 14 years. She wanted to have her cremated. We chose a partial private cremation and the cost was very reasonable compared to a quote we got from our vet.When we received her back they gave us wildflower seeds to plant a remembrance garden. I thought that was very sweet and thoughtful of them.If we decide to do this again I will definitely give them a call.

On February 5th we lost our beloved baby at 12 years of age. He was such an amazing cat and we wanted only the best to do his cremation, being new to the area we had no idea where to go, I did fast research and seeing all good reviews for Whispering Willows we decided to trust them with our fur baby. When my childhood cat passed away, we brought her to Whispering Willow for cremation. Everyone was extremely kind, professional, and understanding of the loss. I first want to take a moment and say thank you to Kate and Nick. This was an unexpected and first loss of a pet for our family. Kate and Nick went out of their way to come back after hours so we could bring our Guinea Pig Miss Piggy to Whispering Willow. Nick gave us a family moment with Miss Piggy and showed us the compassion we so desperately needed in such a vulnerable time. Pets become your family and the sudden loss hit us hard. We will always remember how kind Kate & Nick were as we left Miss Piggy In Their Care. I cried not sad tears but happy ones in how beautiful and thoughtful they were giving her back to us. The person handling payment and scheduling, Katie, was cold, curt, and indifferent in her email communication during a time of extreme stress. Responses from her never contained any semblance of comfort, warmth, or compassion. As the only remaining option in a time of extreme need, we were left with no other choice. The doctor was nice, communicative, explained the procedure before hand, and offered time to ask questions and share concerns.If price is a concern, it was for me, every other option is at minimum $100 cheaper than Whispering Willow, and several others are $150+ less expensive. It seems cruel to take financial advantage of those deeply grieving. I wish Forever Memories was available but unfortunately they were out of the office for a while at the time. The 3 stars was due to the doctor, otherwise it would be 1 star for rudeness and price, ridiculous.

Recently had to put down my dog I've had for 12 years , they took care of everything after I brought him to them. The private ceremony was beautifully set up to say my final goodbyes. The owners truly care and help you figure out arrangements.Would recommend this place to anyone that needs to say goodbye to their pets. Thank you guys again.

Over the years I've said goodbye to many of my four paw babies at the vet's and I've used whoever the vet used for their cremation. My daughter's cat unfortunately passed after giving birth and so did all the babies at home. I called Whispering Willow about having them cremated with them. We recently lost our precious Gigi. We found Whispering Willow online. With not knowing what to expect or even how to handle the situation, they made the process simple. There are many options and prices that are affordable for every price point. Nick was very kind, compassionate, and really helped with a very hard situation. I can't say enough good things for them. We have since picked up Gigi and all of our expectations were met. When the time comes for any of our other pets, we know they will be in great care just like Gigi was.

I recently had to put down my girl Karma after 17 years together. Someone recently told me that no one will ever refer to "cat" as man's best friend but I can definitely say that Karma was just that my best friend. When I was faced with the difficult decision to put Karma down I was given a matter of minutes at the vet and was not able to grieve or let go. I took Karma home and called Whispering Willow Pet funeral and cremation services. That was the best decision I ever made. Kate and Nick were vary helpful and understanding. The guided me through the process and made my options clear. I chose in home euthanasia that gave me the time I needed to grieve and let go and for Karma to be in her home with her family. I had her privately cremated and her ashes were returned promptly to me. I Highly recommend these services to any one who is faced with the difficult decision to put their animal down. They helped us in our time of mourning for our Labrador. They are great people and they truly care for your pets and listen to what you want done. Thanks to this amazing group is people, our mama bear went so peacefully over the rainbow bridge. Kate and her husband were so sincere thoughtful and professional. our Mandy never liked going to the vet. So to have her last moment on earth on the couch with mom and Dad loving on her was priceless. Terry the vet who came to take care of her was vary nice. He came in and talked to and pet her until she was comfortable.It was worth every penny. It still hurts but seeing her in pain hurt also. now her pain is gone and mine will get better with time.

I can't say enough great things about Kate and Nick and the compassionate care they gave to us during the biggest loss of my life. We had to change our goodbye date twice and they graciously accommodated us with the pick up and private cremation of our beloved Holly. Absolute professionalism with extreme sensitivity to our grief needs. Kate has been so helpful with every gift I chose, as well as the efficiency of every task. From the first call to the pick up of my final gift today we have been 100 percent happy with the beautiful, wonderful experience during such a sad time. As hard as this is to write and maybe read, the way they gently and lovingly picked up our Standard Doodle dog with us and covered her in a blanket and placed her in their vehicle made us know Holly was going to be treated with care, kindness and respect. I specifically remember Kate saying to me as I sobbed " Don't worry, we promise to take care of her for you now." Please do not hesitate to call them in your time of need. Thank God for this place!! We had just found out that our baby had cancer. He was declining quickly and we knew we couldn’t let him suffer. We didn’t know what to do. We called Whispering Willow and Nick talked to my husband and gave us the names of vets who could come to our home and make our boy’s transition easier for him and much less traumatic on all of us. The vet came and our little guy crossed that bridge. We took him to Whispering Willows and met with Nick. We made our decisions and did what we had to do. It was one of the most difficult things we ever had to do but Nick made it easier on us. Oscar is back home with us, in a different form, but home. I would recommend them to anyone who is placed in this difficult situation. Thank you for being there and helping all of us through this. The team was compassionate and stayed on top of everything: updates, questions, changes, information, all of it. Kate and Nick are AMAZING people who are doing exactly what they were meant to do. We had to make the difficult decision to say goodbye to our sweet dog and the urgency came on rather fast, so we needed help quickly. My husband had seen their ads on tv and told me to look them up on their website, which I did. I called and spoke to Kate, who put us in touch with one of the veterinarians they use for in-home euthanasia. Within less than an hour, we were able to schedule a time for the doctor to come to our home, and Nick from Whispering Willow would arrive after the doctor had left to take our dog for private cremation. They could not have been more kind, gentle, compassionate, and deeply caring of not only our beloved Elsie, but us as well. We truly could not have been blessed with more wonderful people and we are SO thankful that Whispering Willow Pet Funeral & Cremation Services is LOCAL and has a deep connection to this area. We found this place during a very unfortunate time in our lives, as our precious kitty was taken too soon from cancer. We were able to bring him in right away and meet with Nick who was very supportive and empathetic to our loss. He explained the process and options to us and offered grief support as well. I would recommend everyone and anyone to use Kate and Nick at Whispering Willows. They made the process easy with compassion and empathy. This isn't just a job to them, they completely understand what your going through and walk you through to every degree for you to find comfort in losing your fur baby. I appreciate everything they did for me and will use them again in the future. Honestly I expected to pay so much more considering their privately owned but I paid way more at the vet.

If I could give 100 stars or more, I would.On August 21st I was on my way to a Vet appointment for my 17 year old cat whose health had deteriorated the night before. My cat passed away in my car as I arrived in their parking lot. I was grief stricken, shocked and numb. I cried and cried. I tried to compose myself as I went inside to let them know my cat passed away.I asked for the pet crematorium company information they use. I wanted to take my cat there myself. They gave me 'Pets At Peace Crematory' in Hampshire. It was 8 minutes away.I called them from my car and explained to a lady what happened and wanted to bring my cat there. She told me to come in an hour because they were going to unload a truck. I did not live close and did not want to wait an hour in my car. Rigor Mortis was already setting in. I pleaded with her to drop off my cat. I heard a long, loud sigh. Once again she told me to come back in an hour. I hung up on her.I sat in my car for some time making calls to other Vet offices asking about Pet Crematoriums. I called a Vet office that I was going to transfer to and they gave me someone they use which was far but they also gave me a name of someone they don't use which was closer-Whispering Willow in Rockford.Oh my God, the name gave me goosebumps. I lost my 19 year old son in the Army. He loved Willow Trees. When I moved and had a bigger back yard I planted a Willow Tree as his memorial site in his honor. I called the number and the lady that answered was very nice. I explained everything to her. They were going into a meeting and asked if she can call me back. She was going to call her husband to come in and take care of me. She called me back and told me to come on over.When I arrived I can't tell you how compassionate her husband was. He was very caring and took time to explain everything to me. I was not rushed. He gave me a discount for my son's military service. I was stunned and so appreciative.Four days later I went back to pick up my cat's ashes. A lady helped me. She also took the time to explain to me what she was giving me. Inside the bag was a packet of wildflower seeds which I will plant under the Willow Tree. We talked for a little bit. I gave her a hug and left.I am sorry I did not get any of their names. They all need to be recognized for their compassion and how much care they put into taking care of you.This is a family business not a corporate business. They don't do 'business' transactions, they provide the best compassionate service to those that are grieving the loss of their pets.I highly, highly recommend them.I had a horrible experience that day but I want to thank Whispering Willow for making it better.

About a month ago, I recently lost my very first fur baby, Oli. Oli and I had been through so many life adventures together from high school, college to purchasing our first home. It was so hard going through this process with it being my first fur baby loss. I found Whispering Willow through their commercial and family recommendations. Over the years I've said goodbye to many of my four paw babies at the vet's and I've used whoever the vet used for their cremation. My daughter's cat unfortunately passed after giving birth and so did all the babies at home. I called Whispering Willow about having them cremated with them. I recently had to put down my girl Karma after 17 years together. Someone recently told me that no one will ever refer to "cat" as man's best friend but I can definitely say that Karma was just that my best friend. When I was faced with the difficult decision to put Karma down I was given a matter of minutes at the vet and was not able to grieve or let go. The guided me through the process and made my options clear. I chose in home euthanasia that gave me the time I needed to grieve and let go and for Karma to be in her home with her family. our Mandy never liked going to the vet. So to have her last moment on earth on the couch with mom and Dad loving on her was priceless. Terry the vet who came to take care of her was vary nice. I can't say enough great things about Kate and Nick and the compassionate care they gave to us during the biggest loss of my life. We had to change our goodbye date twice and they graciously accommodated us with the pick up and private cremation of our beloved Holly. From the first call to the pick up of my final gift today we have been 100 percent happy with the beautiful, wonderful experience during such a sad time. Thank God for this place!! We had just found out that our baby had cancer. He was declining quickly and we knew we couldn’t let him suffer. We didn’t know what to do. We called Whispering Willow and Nick talked to my husband and gave us the names of vets who could come to our home and make our boy’s transition easier for him and much less traumatic on all of us. The vet came and our little guy crossed that bridge. We took him to Whispering Willows and met with Nick. We made our decisions and did what we had to do. It was one of the most difficult things we ever had to do but Nick made it easier on us. Oscar is back home with us, in a different form, but home. My dog passed away one morning running in the yard. Complete surprise. I didn't know what to do or who to call. They answered right away and came within about 2 hours. I layed there the whole time with my dog and they were very compassionate and told me to let them know when I was done saying goodbye. Then they put my dog on a stretcher into the van and said they will take very good care of him. It was the most awful day. They got a hold of me once they had the ashes for me to pick up and went over grieving and mentioned to check website for any urns or other ideas what to do with the ashes if I wanted. When Steve and I took our sweet Pandora to UW Madison to have the Necropsy (autopsy) done, we had asked if afterwards we could bring her back to Whispering Willows here in Rockford so they could handle her cremation. They explained that they weren't allowed to release her remains to us and assured us that Midwest Cremation Service in Poynette were very trustworthy as well. We wanted to make sure that we are ONLY getting back Pandora's ashes- we have had heard stories that although some request and pay for a single cremation, that doesn't necessarily happen. We researched and heard great things about Midwest Cremation Service so that made us feel better. But throughout this journey, every time we reached out to Kate at Whispering Willow, she was nothing but kind and compassionate to us. We have had to deal with so many insensitive people throughout this journey of losing our Pandora - including her Vet's office. So Kate's kindness and help just really stood out to us and we wanted to still support her business. We reached out to her for help with finding an Urn for Pandora. She worked with us on a time that worked for our busy schedule. She brought us in, gave us each a cup coffee and just created a calm, no pressure atmosphere to pick the perfect Urn for Pandora. She never treated us like we were just another client and this was just another animal. She sat and talked with us and listened to our painful story and looked at the pictures of Pandora that Steve showed her and she just genuinely CARED. Our 12 year old yellow Lab, Bella, was developing some health issues related to getting older. Her arthritis was getting worse, she was showing signs of CHF, and she was generally slowing down quite a bit. We wanted to make the end of her life as peaceful and as comfortable as possible. A friend recommended Whispering Willows. I spoke to Dr. Bergin by phone, and we set up an appointment for her to come to our house. When she arrived, she sat on the floor with Bella; and talked to us and to her. She gave her an injection of a sedative and pain medication and then we just sat for awhile and waited for Bella to get sleepy. Eventually she was sound asleep and snoring. Dr. Bergin did a paw print for us to have; then she started an IV. She gave her the final dose of medication that stops the heart. It was less than a minute; and she listened for Bella’s heartbeat; and she had passed. It was all very quiet, peaceful, and comfortable for Bella. She was not anxious at all.We opted for a private cremation, so Dr. Bergin took Bella with her and is going to return her ashes to us in about two weeks. I could not be more pleased with the care Bella received. She was a very strong willed, optimistic, funny, sweet, intelligent girl.A day that was so difficult for us was peaceful for Bella. What was a sad day, was made more bearable by our wonderful dog being treated with respect, and by her comfort being first and foremost on everyone’s mind. At no time did we feel rushed.I felt Whispering Willow’s prices are reasonable.Dr. Bergin was very kind, knowledgeable, and empathetic.

Kate and Nick are AMAZING people who are doing exactly what they were meant to do. We had to make the difficult decision to say goodbye to our sweet dog and the urgency came on rather fast, so we needed help quickly. My husband had seen their ads on tv and told me to look them up on their website, which I did. I called and spoke to Kate, who put us in touch with one of the veterinarians they use for in-home euthanasia. Within less than an hour, we were able to schedule a time for the doctor to come to our home, and Nick from Whispering Willow would arrive after the doctor had left to take our dog for private cremation. If I could give 100 stars or more, I would.On August 21st I was on my way to a Vet appointment for my 17 year old cat whose health had deteriorated the night before. My cat passed away in my car as I arrived in their parking lot. I was grief stricken, shocked and numb. I cried and cried. I tried to compose myself as I went inside to let them know my cat passed away.I asked for the pet crematorium company information they use. I wanted to take my cat there myself. They gave me 'Pets At Peace Crematory' in Hampshire. It was 8 minutes away.I called them from my car and explained to a lady what happened and wanted to bring my cat there. She told me to come in an hour because they were going to unload a truck. I did not live close and did not want to wait an hour in my car. Rigor Mortis was already setting in. I pleaded with her to drop off my cat. I heard a long, loud sigh. Once again she told me to come back in an hour. I hung up on her.I sat in my car for some time making calls to other Vet offices asking about Pet Crematoriums. I called a Vet office that I was going to transfer to and they gave me someone they use which was far but they also gave me a name of someone they don't use which was closer-Whispering Willow in Rockford.Oh my God, the name gave me goosebumps. I lost my 19 year old son in the Army. He loved Willow Trees. When I moved and had a bigger back yard I planted a Willow Tree as his memorial site in his honor. I called the number and the lady that answered was very nice. I explained everything to her. They were going into a meeting and asked if she can call me back. She was going to call her husband to come in and take care of me. She called me back and told me to come on over.When I arrived I can't tell you how compassionate her husband was. He was very caring and took time to explain everything to me. I was not rushed. He gave me a discount for my son's military service. I was stunned and so appreciative.Four days later I went back to pick up my cat's ashes. A lady helped me. She also took the time to explain to me what she was giving me. Inside the bag was a packet of wildflower seeds which I will plant under the Willow Tree. We talked for a little bit. I gave her a hug and left.I am sorry I did not get any of their names. They all need to be recognized for their compassion and how much care they put into taking care of you.This is a family business not a corporate business. They don't do 'business' transactions, they provide the best compassionate service to those that are grieving the loss of their pets.I highly, highly recommend them.I had a horrible experience that day but I want to thank Whispering Willow for making it better.

This place was amazing to us. We lost our pet bunny and my children were devastated. Kate was great answering my kids questions. We were truly blessed to find this place! The love and compassion they showed to our family was second to none!they truly made one of the most difficult times so much more bearable! They picked her up and brought her home. They brought a clipping of her fur as well as a beautiful candle with her name on it. I truly truly cannot express enough gratitude for everything they have done for our family! Every pet owner needs to know about them! Second to none! 5 stars just isn't enough! What an incredible place! Incredible people! They truly truly understood that this wasn't just my dog, but my baby!💜brought her home! They also brought a beautiful candle with ger name on it, as well as a clipping of her fur. I truly cannot express enough gratitude for them

This place was amazing to us. We lost our pet bunny and my children were devastated. Kate was great answering my kids questions. My kids also wanted to say goodbye one last time so she wrapped the bunny up in a blanket and held him so my kids could pet him. She also let my kids pick out a book about animal death. All this was just what my kids needed to help them find closure in an unexpected and tragic situation. I highly recommend them.

On feb 26th my husband and I lost our 2 Almost 3 year old dog who was our first fur baby together Nick And Kate were amazing with her and us from the first phone call the prices are reasonable and they got her back to us in a little under a week and worked with me every step of the way thank you both so much for taking care of my baby when we couldn’t anymore

After having some bad experiences with other pet crematoriums, my daughter went online and found Whispering Willow. Sadly, we have had a few losses this year; but it always helps us to know that we have Nick to help us through. He is so very kind and caring, and truly goes the extra mile. We are so grateful to have found Whispering Willow. We drive over an hour to get there, but it's very much worth it. Nick helps make a time of grieving a bit easier; and I would recommend them to anyone.
