We lost our 6 year old German Shepard, Piper suddenly in August 2024. Trusted Journey was wonderful and handled all of the details with such understanding and empathy. They answered every question we had and were so patient with us. They made an extremely hard situation a little bit easier knowing that they were treating Piper like she was one of their own family members. The Ink paw and nose prints were done so nicely that I used them to get a memorial tattoo on my arm. The engraved Urn and Clay paw prints have been such a blessing to have when we are missing our sweet girl. Thank you Trusted Journey for being there for us during such a sad time.

I brought my dog in for his final journey. The staff were incredibly compassionate and respectful. His ashes were returned to us the next day in a beautiful way. It truly meant a lot during this difficult time.

This is the 2nd time I have used their services. The staff is always amazing! Informative, compassionate, and helpful with making decisions on what they offer, while not making you feel like you are being taken advantage of at your time of heart break. Their costs are pleasantly less than what my vet offered when my pup was put to rest. They offer a bunch of items/services to make almost anyone happy. They even make life a bit easier for things like the disbursement urns, by not placing the ashes in a bag that you would then have to mess with when you release them at your favorite location.I forgot to get a clipping of my pups amazing fur when I left him there, but they knew I loved his coat and got one for me!! I can't say enough how much I appreciate this! When things are already difficult with your pet, this is the place you want to be when you see them for the final time.

We had to say goodbye to our family dog and our vet recommended Trusted Journey. They had beautiful memorial pieces available for us to choose from. Everything was ready in a week, and the staff was very compassionate when I came to pick our boy up. We are very happy with how everything looks/turned out. For an unfortunate situation we had a great experience with them.

My awesome dog Bear passed away May 28,2024 at 15 years old. He was loyal from day one. We had a private viewing service and cremation from Trusted Journey. From the beginning until the end Trusted Journey did an extremely fabulous job. The prepared him beautifully for the viewing like he was just "sleeping." They explained everything step by step and we received his ashes and related items immediately after his cremation the same day. Everyone especially Courtney, Katy and many others made it all so seamless and the entire Pastorello family cant thank you enough for all you have done for our Bear and family. Thank you all for being so kind and trustworthy.

I wanted a nose print that would be used in a memorial tattoo and paid $62 for a partial print. If you couldn't do it right, you should've recommended someone else or given me alternative options. You didn't even bother communicating that with the vet or reaching out yourself, instead I find out when I get her remains back. I'm not confident that there was any care in this process and I'm heartbroken that I wasn't strong enough in that moment to find a more suitable service provider for her. She deserved better and your customers don't deserve to be taken advantage of during their grief.

This was the easiest part about the whole thing. I got a call the morning after Winston died and they just wanted to send condolences and ask if I had any questions. She seemed to genuinely care and honestly I did have questions. I wanted to know where he was currently and she knew the answer. I got the urn and pawprint back less than a week later and they were transported back to the er I originally took him to for pick up. The level of communication was very comforting and while I hope to never have to use these services again, I know I will have to and I will know exactly where to go.

Trusted journey showed me compassion empathy sympathy during the most difficult time of my life.. my beloved dog son of 13yrs crossed the rainbow bridge 12/29/24 and the emergency vet hospital told us we wouldn’t be able to pick up my dog sons ashes that he had to be delivered. Riddled with sorrow waiting for my sons ashes to be sent to me I was receiving several emails that my package was delayed..(which after found out where scam)my worst nightmare of a ups/fedfex losing my son or mishandling my sons ashes was more real then not desperate for answers I called the emergency vet hospital looking for answers on where my son was who had him I was told he was with trust journey… I googled trusted journey in Plainfield called and Stephanie answered with a sweet voice she could hear the panic in my voice careful to not upset me she assured me she could help me… she located my son at her facility assured me he wasn’t lost or on a truck somewhere and gave me the assurance I could go and pick up my son. I was an hour away leaving straight from work gps keep changing my eta from 60 mins to 65 mins to 70 mins I called trusted journey giving my eta update and again Stephanie assuring me to drive safe and it was OK if I was late, she would wait for me even after the business closed time. She kept her word and waited for me until I got there. So I can pick up my dog son, she greeted me with compassion, Care and sympathy and carefully handing my son over to me. Helped me through the difficult time and anxiety of me trying to just get to Trusted journey is why I recommend this family owned business.

I called to inquire about cremation services for my bird that passed away the same morning and the girl who answered the phone never offered any condolences and stifled her laughter. Very insensitive and unprofessional. My bird was by my side for over 10 years and even with a cheap price of $84 I went somewhere else and paid more just because of the bad phone experience. Saying 'I'm sorry for your loss' or 'I offer my condolences ' is a standard response for this job and if you can't even give the bare minimum, maybe this isn't the job for her.

Had to put my sweet Logan down on the 27th of November. First time I ever had to experience this. Trusted Journey was so kind to me, so kind that it made me cry more just knowing they were going to treat my little Logan’s body with care. I just picked up his paw print, nose print and fur clippings today. Thank you to everyone who works here. Much love

Received my pets ashes from our vet today, Colonial Manor Animal Hospital. I can’t thank Trusted Journey for the beautiful burial urn, paw print imprint and velvet bags they placed my pet in. Our sweet boy died at VCA in Downers Grove on July 20, 2024 and Trusted Journey was recommended. There was a miscommunication regarding his name being engraved on his custom pewter urn so I stopped by with it as I was in the neighborhood. The woman who answered the call (you’re not allowed to walk in as the door is locked) was rude, condescending and dismissive. I explained that we wanted the urn engraved, that I knew there was a fee, but that that message had been lost between the ER Vet and their business. She snapped, “we’re not your Vet and there is a cost for that”! She sent someone down to speak to me who was equally as rude. I showed her the urn and asked them to do the engraving and she said, “that can’t be done on that urn”. I said never mind, I will take it to a jeweler and she said, “go ahead, they’ll ruin the urn and you can come back here to have it replaced for an additional fee”. We have lost two other pets that have the exact same urns with engraved names/dates. How can such rude people be in this sensitive of a business? I DO NOT RECOMMEND!!!

Trusted Journey has been exceptional in my time of need. After having to humanely euthanize my cat due to rapidly progressing cancer, I initially chose a communal cremation at the vet. Regretting my decision soon after, I reached out to Trusted Journey to see if it was too late to change my mind, since my cat had already been picked up from the vet and enroute to TJ.Their response was nothing short of INCREDIBLE. Through a series of emails, they went above and beyond to ensure they still had my cat, provided proof, and handled the entire situation with grace, professionalism, and deep empathy. I am immensely grateful to the compassionate person who assisted me and treated me with such kindness throughout the process.Thank you, Trusted Journey—your team members are truly amazing, and I hope their exceptional work doesn't go unnoticed!

My sweet baby boy passed away on Saturday. He was returned to me a few days later and the whole process was bittersweet. My baby was finally coming back home. Trusted Journey did a wonderful job.

We have used Metro for 3 of our beloved dogs, and each time we return - they remind us exactly why we keep coming back. The kindness, patience, and consideration we have received from the employees are beyond measure. Our most recent experience was with Marisol. She was an incredibly kind soul, and was very courteous and respectful in our moment of mourning. Marisol was very knowledgeable, and came through on all her promises. From the day she stated KoziK would be ready for pick up, to preserving his locks of hair - she said, “you’re gonna love it”. I DO! I LOVE IT SOO MUCH.Thank you Marisol and thank you Metro for everything!!

I brought my sweet Yogi here yesterday and it was my first time at this facility and I could not be more pleased. From start to finish, Courtney was AMAZING! She answered the phone when I called to make the appointment, she was there with me through the entire process, and answered all my questions. Even though this is an emotional experience (I've been through it far too many times), she truly helped comfort me and made everything less stressful. I feel she sincerely cares and A Trusted Journey is lucky to have her on their team!

I’m heartbroken, disappointed, and just shocked by the terrible work done on the clay imprint of my pet’s paws. I’ve had two of my rats pts at animal care center of Plainfield. They’ve been nothing but exceptional and caring. Both times my babies have been sent to Metro Animal Service to be cremated. I chose not to keep their ashes or their bodies for personal reasons, but i always pay extra to receive their clay paw prints. The ones from my “Ginger” were beautifully done. It was neatly packaged and clearly a lot of care was put into making them. This is what I expected from them. My most reason clay imprints are from my “Bella”. The minute I opened the box I broke into tears. You can hardly see the imprint of her paws. The slab is covered in fingerprints and scratches. I wouldn’t even mind the scratches if I could see her paw prints. My heart is broken. I have nothing left of her but a carelessly imprinted clay slab. I put my trust in this company and i’m so disgusted. I’ve talked to the vet and i’ll speak to a manager on monday, but it’s not about the money. I just wanted something to remember her by. I know she’s just a rat, but she was loving and so smart. She deserved better than this. The last photo is of my gingers paw prints, which came out perfectly. The first two are of the sloppy and careless work I received today

My best friend and cat passed very unexpectedly last week. Trusted Journey was the suggested service for a private cremation by the emergency vet that I was at when he passed. I chose to trust the process and go ahead with the service even though I felt nervous and heartbroken. During the picking out his urn and plaque portion of the process which was only given to me through email, there was a place to put special instructions so I requested a paw print be included if possible. I received a voicemail stating that they could not accommodate my request which I was sad about but thought it was nice they called. I received my pets ashes back very quickly with a certificate in a nice bag but nothing else as far as a fur remnant or paw impression. I am rather sad to see the reviews of everyone else receiving these items to remember their friends by and also as assurance that it is their animal that are getting back. The over all urn is nice I’m just very sad to know that they could have indeed done that for me and just didn’t. He was very special to me, it would have meant so much.

Metro was very compassionate over the phone discussing details of the equine I had cremated. They were able to accommodate his large size, 19hh, and options were offered to pull shoes and take mane/tail clippings. His ashes were ready to be picked up within 48 hours and despite how heavy the box was, they carried him out and made sure to gently place him in the car.Thank you for taking care of my beloved Rocky.

On a first day of winter, 12/21/2023, my little baby gained his wings and flew high to heaven. This is the place where my vet clinic sent my cat to get cremated. They had a few options for me to pick the urn and It took about 2 weeks to receive everything back, which was fine considering the holiday hours. To my surprise, it was way better than I expected. I was shocked to even receive some of his fur back 🥹🤍 It made me cry so much and in a way, it brought me some peace. Thank you for everything and the perfect paw print of my little baby!

When my Ricky crossed the Rainbow Bridge, Trusted Journey handled the arrangements. Ricky was returned to me within 24 hours. The box Ricky is in is beautiful, as is the engraved plaque. The Certificate of Cremation is beautifully written and the plaster paw print has Ricky's name on it. Although Ricky passed in July, I am finally able to write this review without crying. So, although this review is a little past due, I felt it necessary since I am so pleased with their services. Thank you!!

I really hate leaving bad reviews and I sat on this for a few days. Put my beloved dog down and plainfield animal hospital sent my sweet baby here for cremation. When I received her ashes it was in a cute little cylinder not made of great material (nice sturdy cardboard) which is fine. However, when I opened it, I saw there was a cardboard lid with a perforated hole. Wanting to open it thinking her ashes would be bagged on the inside it was not! I wanted to put her ashes in a stuffed animal made for pet ashes and now I can't do that. Even worse is when I put the lid back on her ashes very carefully it was a plume of ashes everywhere. And I lost it. Please bag the ashes and save another person some heartache. I've asked multiple people and they said their pets were always in sealed bags. My childhood dog was also in a sealed bag. I bought a new container to put her in, but I'm dreading how I'm going to have to dump her into it and not get her everywhere.

When asking about aftercare options for my pet, my vet said they provided servcies through Metro Animal Service. After viewing their website and other reviews, I opted for partitioned individual cremation through Metro Animal Service. In less than a week, the cremains were returned and thoughtfully packaged with a letter from the owners, certificate of cremation, and a simple and pleasing metallic urn. Thank you so much for your affordable, fast, and professional service through my vet. It made the aftercare process easy so that I could focus on the memories of our departed pet and caring for our remaining dog as she adjusts to life without her older brother.

My pups are home and I can only say that I am eternally grateful for Metro for their care in making sure that my boys final journey home was well taken care of.The box my boys ashes arrived in was very well packed, his paw print was made with extra loving care and each box had a label with his name on it.As pet parents, this is the last business you'd want to purposely seek out. Like others, I had no idea they even were in business. But I am glad my vet partnered with them. Metro has now handled the remains of both of my beloved furry sons. I can't show them enough love for making sure they came home with the dignity they deserved. To Lisa and Glenn Brown and the employees of Metro, thank you from the bottom of my heart for taking such good care of my boys.

So very disappointed in the paw print that we received from you guys. I was heart broken to say goodbye to my dog and had been looking forward to getting her print back. The quality of work was extremely poor and there really is no excuse. There is barely a print to be seen and hardly an indent in the clay. The clay imprint was nicely wrapped, but other than that I would be embarrassed to send this off with my name tied to it. I contacted my vet who recommend you guys and showed them the poor quality work that was done.

Everyone at Metro treated my dog just as kindly as if he were walking into the building to be pet while he was alive. His clay paw prints came out perfectly, and the complimentary Cedar box is beautiful. Thank you all for treating my baby like the king that he was while in your care. Your beautiful work is so very much appreciated, and your kindness during my difficult time will have me sending all my pet lover friends here when their fur babies cross over the rainbow bridge. Thank you for all that you did for Bam Bam!

All of the employees that I encountered at Metro Animal Service were wonderful! The owners went above and beyond in helping us with our dog we recently had to have euthanized. He was treated with care and dignity throughout the entire process! You can tell they really do love what they do and care about their customers who are going through a tough time like this! We had our "baby" back home with us the very next day! I look forward to passing out the keychains and ceramic paw prints they made for us to the people who had a big part in his rough life that he had and who loved our dog as much as we do!! Just a great keepsake to have to remember the impact he made on all of our lives!!Thank you to all of you at Metro!!

Had to get my hamster cremated. I brought her in the same day I called and she was ready to be picked up early the next morning. Very quick service. Which definitely helped the grieving process. Very compassionate staff. And they cut the cost In half since my little babe was so small! Very nicely wrapped. I felt good that I knew these people did this with dignity and compassion. Would recommend with anyone that has a pet death in their family. Thank you Metro!!

Today I had to make a hard decision to put my baby down. I work at a vet we use Metro and have had amazing service. Today I called to ask if I could bring Duke myself and with no hesitation they said yes. When Metro picks up at the animal hospital they are so very respectful to all the fur babies. Glen and Lisa and all of the staff are so caring! THANK YOU METRO!!Lynda

On 1/8 I love my beloved beagle. During the process of filling out papers at the vet, I selected cremation and a cast paw print. After collecting myself, I called the vet Tuesday AM and spoke with the office manager, and one of the long term techs. The called the facility, and fortunately Metro had just picked her up and hadn't cremated her yet. The office Mgr asked that a NOSE CASTING & PAW PRINT be added. Metro agreed, I heard the call - I heard the tech ask for it the nose cast and print. When I received her remains back, I rcvd 2 paw castings, a paw print, and no nose print to be found. I called the vets office to ask about it, and they stated what they asked for, I agreed as I heard the call take place. I called Metro and the girl than answered blamed the vets office for giving them bad information. No accountability at whatsoever. This was like my other child! It's something I can never replicate or obtain. I was shocked and frankly horrified that this was the response.

We used Metro in March of this year. Luther was quick to respond and take our beloved equine away where she would be cremated. We chose to have her cremated individually so that her ashes could be returned to us. The office gal called us right away. She was very kind and offered to take hair. When we picked her up, she was in a lovely box (we chose to purchase from Metro). At pick up they brought her out and placed her in our car. When the time comes for any of our other animals, we will be sure to call Metro.

I can't begin to praise Metro Animal Service enough. I didn't seek out their services or even know they existed until we had to put our beloved dog to sleep after a long battle with cancer. Metro just happened to be the facility our vet utilized for cremation and, as such, we ended up simply seeing their name on a quickly signed form before saying our final and excruciating goodbyes. It wasn't until the UPS shipping notice email that I remembered the name and, broken-hearted and raw, made my way to their website. I was hoping somehow that their site would comfort me but expected to be disappointed. I was taken aback. If you are reading this review and feeling conflicted or worried about entrusting Metro with your faithful companion, I urge you to read the About Us section and FAQ page. They really put a lot of heart into the information available and it reassured me beyond my wildest expectations.I reached out via the Contact Us form to tell them how thankful I was for the compassion and respect they clearly showed to every client and received a lovely email from Lisa in response that meant a great deal to me. This was all before Nola's cremains were returned to us. I longed to have her back home but knew the emotional impact would be severe. Again, I was blown away. The thoughtful details and clear sense of reverence put into every part of the packaging and preparation of her ashes and paw print were so clear and so astonishing. It was a terrible and painful day but it was a comfort to see that our girl had clearly been handled with such tenderness and care.A while later while looking into options for burying her ashes I came across some information that concerned me. It seemed like perhaps our intended memorial plans might not be possible in the way that we had envisioned. My research efforts kept leading me in circles and thanks to their past kindness I felt comfortable reaching out again to Metro in hopes that they might be able to help us find a solution. I heard back almost immediately from Carrie who not only put my fears to rest but assured me, with clear detail and kindness, that our memorial could proceed as planned. It was a huge weight off of my shoulders.I did not expect that a crematorium would factor so greatly in my grief process nor could I have imagined that the people working there would freely take time out of their busy working hours to show compassion and care to a total stranger, but they did. With two (formerly three) loving dogs at home, it is inevitable that we will need their services again much sooner than our hearts will be prepared for. I am so thankful to know that they will be there when that time comes, in all the ways that matter most.

I had my buddy Mason euthanized and three days later I received him back. Truly stellar service to handle things so quickly! It has helped my grieving process by getting him home. He came in a nice tin with "Always Remembered" printed on the front. Better than the cardboard box I got my last pet back in. They included a printed note with a wonderful message about losing a pet. It made me cry but such a wonderful gesture. If you are in the Chicagoland area, I truly recommend Metro Animal Services.

The emergency vet sent my 16 year sweet pup here. Was disappointed when I got her ashes and paw print back. She came in a tin can and her $50 each paw prints are barely readable. When my last pup passed they did a wonderful job with everything. And paw prints were $12 each and so nicely done. 😥

Amazing, fantastic people. A true family business. Compassionate and caring. It takes a lot to earn my trust when it comes to my pets, but I feel completely comfortable knowing that my boy is being treated with the greatest respect though the cremation process.

We had our minnie for 17 years and couldn’t imagine our home without her. I specifically asked for her to be transported and kept in her favorite blankie and they did just that and returned her blankie, ashes, and paw print to me. Thank you for your care of our kitty

Earlier this year Metro Animal Services was very accommodating with our unusual circumstance. I will forever be grateful for their kindness. Most importantly they gave me peace and closure.

We bid goodbye to our fish, Yugan here. The staff was very friendly and very empathetic . Never knew, there was a place for cremation for Fish and having this place was very relieving. Thanks. !!

My cat, Smudge, was cremated but the certificate says "Buddy". It feels a little concerning that they didn't even double check the names. I am worried if my cat was even cremated properly and if I have his remains ?

Trusted Journey does a compassionate and wonderful job allowing us to say goodbye and to have something to remember our beloved pets…

Dakota was cremated on 11/26, but I didn’t receive her until 12/15. I was not contacted about the delay and my email was not responded to. You need to improve communication.

I probably wouldn’t recommend. Vet sent our beloved 9 year old pup there for $410 you get ashes back in a tin can that probably cost them $3.00

Can't thank you enough. Got my Hank back today you all are the best. Thank you again

My vet used trusted journey for my precious retriver Parker they did a excellent job on cremating him and got him back really fast.

I was unable to take my Mitzi's body to them, so they picked her up on Monday and her ashes were deliverd to my home on Thursday. What a FAST turnaround. I would refer Metro Animal Services to all pet owners. I have more cats and I will use them for my other cats. God Bless You !!!!! Ms. Terry Fitzpatrick

My furbaby had to be euthanized. Our emergency vet sent our Sissy to your facility. We recieved her ashes in 6 days, along with a paw print and a little poem keepsake.Thank you for getting my Sissy back to us so quickly.I wasnt familiar with your facility since it was in Illinois and I live in Indiana, But after reading your page I feel you showed my Sissy compassion and love .Thank you for making this tragic time alittle bit more bearable.I can sleep because my furbaby is home....
