I highly recommend Cappetta’s West Suburban Funeral home in Downers Grove. Anthony helped my family every step of the way with the recent loss of my husband. He was very accommodating and gave us all sorts of options without feeling pressured to get through this difficult time. The facility was so perfect having the two rooms across from each other, one for viewing the urn and the other for visiting with family and friends. Anthony made himself available and we could text or call him with questions at any time. The day of the memorial, Anthony helped with setting everything up with making sure the video ran smoothly and kept a watchful eye on everything, so that it ran so smoothly without a hitch. What a great father and son team they make.

When my father passed away unexpectedly at the end of August, a family member had given us Tony’s name at Cappetta’s Funeral Home in Downers Grove and told us to give him a call. Thinking back to that day, and the days to follow that was one piece of advice our entire family is grateful that we made that call. We cannot express how thankful our family is to everyone at Cappetta’s Funeral Home in Downers Grove. The amount of time, compassion, and genuine thoughtfulness shown to all of us from Tony, Anthony, and the staff cannot be measured. Everyone there was so very helpful and kind, as well as available at any time we had a question or needed help. They made sure to get every little detail correct and communicated with us about all the details. They were so very empathetic and made my mom and the rest of us feel as if we had known them for years and that we were part of their family. We would recommend them to anyone who asks.

I can't speak highly enough of the service and care we received from Cappetta's. Thinking about funeral services while mourning is incredibly overwhelming. I was pretty lost. We chose Cappetta's due to its convenient location near St. Joseph's Parish.From beginning to end, Anthony was on top of every little detail. It felt like we were the only family they were guiding, consoling, advising, etc. They were transparent, patient, and thoughtful.The wake was a true celebration. It was loud, with memories and laughs shared to honor my mom. Their space is private - one service at a time. I sincerely appreciate all of the love they showed my mom, her family, and friends.

dealing with the loss of a loved one is difficult to deal with just by itself. add to that loss all of the tasks that need to get done in order to provide our loved one with a respectable funeral that provides closure. during that time it can be hard to focus on what needs to get done let alone know what gets put on the 'to do list' when a loved one passes.tony and his son are very compassionate and knowledgeable. both tony and his son walked me through the steps i needed to take in order to get the necessary tasks completed for my mother's funeral. every step of the way i was asked if i had any questions and if i understood what i had to do. i was reminded that if i had questions at later time to contact tony or his son.i was amazed at how much tony and his son did for me behind the scenes. i was not pressured to make choices as options were presented to me along the way. their suggestions were very helpful.my mom's funeral service went off without a hitch. tony had things arranged all along the way. thank for all of the help and good wishes you extended to me and my family as we dealt with the loss of our mother.i recommend highly cappetta's funeral home!mj

Capetta's West Suburban Funeral home was recommended to me for my mothers services. Anthony made sure to take his time and explain every aspect of his services. Every question was answered in full detail. They have a variety of urns, flowers, and prayer cards you can choose from and helps you to choose the appropriate products that align with your religious views.The value in price actually beat out every funeral home we looked at. I didn't work for 4 years caring for my mother so cost was a big factor and Capetta's prices are unbeatable. I can't say enough great things about Cappetta's. Anthony and Tony made the process so easy for my family to plan a beautiful send off for my mother. We had a lot of logistical questions as we wanted services in Downers Grove but a burial out of state. The Cappettas immediately said NO PROBLEM! They helped us coordinate with another funeral home and transported her body 3 hours away. It's always kind of weird to say, but they also made my mother look so beautiful. We assumed we'd do a closed casket b/c she didn't look like herself at her death after suffering from a long-term illness. The transformation that they performed on her was incredible. She looked just like the mother I want to remember. Thank you so much for being so sincere, compassionate, and helpful during our saddest days Anthony and Tony!

For grieving families trying to make arrangements in the midst of your heartbreak, please know that you can trust Cappetta's funeral home with your loved one. Every wonderful, kind word in previous reviews is 100% accurate. I first met Tony about a year and a half ago when I went in to get information and pre-plan my father's services. I had no idea what I was doing but Tony is so professional, and more importantly, he is kind. He explained his prices, what was included and helped me to make the best decisions for our family. He did not try to talk me into more, he was incredibly helpful and fair. When Dad died on July 27th, Tony himself was the one who came to the nursing home to pick up Dad. When we had Dad's service, Tony was right there and handled every single thing, from the beginning to the end at the cemetery. He did more for our family than I ever imagined. Dad looked so handsome and they made him look like himself before he became ill. The funeral home is beautiful and comforting, a very peaceful place to honor your loved one. Tony is so thoughtful and considerate. When I had to return to pick up Dad's death certificates, Tony reminded me that the street would be closed for the car show so I should come through the alley. He is an amazing human being and I wish we had more people like Tony in this world, and I wish more businesses were run in the same manner. When it came time to bury my mother in law, my husband said that his mother had said she wanted Anthony from Cappetta’s Funeral Home to handle it when she passed, as he had done such a great job when her husband died back in 2011. So when it happened that’s who he and his sister chose. Even though my father in law had a full wake with a coffin, my mother in law wanted to be cremated and did not want to be laid out. That was no problem. Anthony answered all their questions and took care of all the planning that it would entail. And he even helped set up a visitation hour before the funeral mass, so everyone could come and pay their respects to the family before the Mass.And the next day he was right there for the immediate family, at the burial site overseeing the internment of my mother in law.I can’t stress enough how kind and compassionate Anthony was during this trying time for the family. He was always just a phone call away to handle any last minute call or problem we needed handled.

The facility was perfect and conducive to having food and coffee for the many guests who traveled-in. The West Suburban funeral home was a gracious host for my father's (Harold Mattes) funeral. Tony made sure everything was organized and well-structured. He was very receptive to the family's needs. Tony helped me during the whole process from picking the days and times of the visitation, funeral and burial, to the casket and prayer cards, and even ordered our funeral lunch. The facility has a homey feel to it. It is tastefully decorated with brand new carpet, a lovely break room, and quaintly decorated restrooms.Since it is a smaller facility and only held one funeral at a time , it was more private than the big corporate types of funeral homes.Everything turned out beautifully and was a very reasonable price. I highly recommend Tony and his facility.

My father passed away this month. Tony and his staff were amazing. Tony came out to the house and meet with my stepmother and I and helped us in our decision-making process with patience and grace. He was present and the wake and funeral, easy to access, and quick with answers. Dad's wake went off without a hitch, and the staff were always available during the wake while somehow also making themselves scarce. I don't know what else to say. Honestly, couldn't really ask for more. Thank you Tony!

My mom was killed in a car crash and after a friend of a friend who works in bereavement services recommended West Suburban Funeral Home, I went to see if this was a good fit for my needs. Tony was so kind, empathetic, accommodating to all of my requests, and a real comfort in making a really painful time a little easier. The facilities can accommodate 50-60 people, he had easels for the memory boards I made, everything was executed with no issues. Rather than nickel and dime pricing, Tony has a package price and was clear on what was included with that package. In this instance, I was thankful to not have to make more decisions than was necessary. Tony helped the people that loved my mom say goodbye and I am thankful.

I recently had the misfortune of having my dear loving father pass away. I had called many funeral homes and was immediately comforted by the tone and caring man that answered my call at Cappetta’s West Suburban Funeral Home. I was not passed off to discuss with the funeral director, or told to call back in five minutes or told someone would call me back. At Cappetta’s, I was simply asked by the man answering the phone and in a caring tone, what are the wishes of the family for his service. Cappetta’s explained that everything would be covered by one price and further explained those services. I was relieved and comforted to be speaking to the man that was going to take care of everything, from start to finish, for my family during this very difficult time. Every employee my family encountered at Cappetta’s was the utmost professional, respectful, accommodating person. My family could not have been more pleased by the celebration of my father’s life and proper departure from this world.

The things that stood out about Cappetta's was they were open 24 hours, their price for cremation was listed in their description so no surprises and they were close-by. We're in Downers Grove and they're in Westmont. We felt Tony at Cappettas was very respectful when speaking with us about their services and pricing and also picking up my deceased mother. They arranged cremation and cremains in an urn. Took about a week. They also offer full viewing and funeral services should you need them. Very comforting experience for a mourning family. Thank you Tony.

My sister just finished planning for her husbands wake, funeral service and cemetery services, which were performed this week. All services went very well. Tony was able to ask the right questions, guide us in decisions we needed to make and choreograph each service like clock work. Tony was very calming, making the decisions as easy as possible. He worked very well with our pastor, made sure the guests were comfortable at the wake with coffee, soft drinks and refreshments. But the most amazing event was when Tony arranged for a military presence at the graveside with taps, folding of the flag and presentation to my sister. Very moving. Thanks, Tony, for taking care of my sister and my two nephews so well.

I can’t really explain in words how much I love Anthony, his son, Brian and the whole staff at Cappetta’s. I have never had to deal with planning a funeral ….through the chaos and the questions they were able to guide me through and make it so easy. He was great at communicating and kept me informed either by phone or text every step of the way. For grieving families trying to make arrangements in the midst of your heartbreak, please know that you can trust Cappetta's funeral home with your loved one. Every wonderful, kind word in previous reviews is 100% accurate. I first met Tony about a year and a half ago when I went in to get information and pre-plan my father's services. I had no idea what I was doing but Tony is so professional, and more importantly, he is kind. He explained his prices, what was included and helped me to make the best decisions for our family. He did not try to talk me into more, he was incredibly helpful and fair. When Dad died on July 27th, Tony himself was the one who came to the nursing home to pick up Dad. When we had Dad's service, Tony was right there and handled every single thing, from the beginning to the end at the cemetery. He did more for our family than I ever imagined. Dad looked so handsome and they made him look like himself before he became ill. The funeral home is beautiful and comforting, a very peaceful place to honor your loved one. Tony is so thoughtful and considerate. When I had to return to pick up Dad's death certificates, Tony reminded me that the street would be closed for the car show so I should come through the alley. He is an amazing human being and I wish we had more people like Tony in this world, and I wish more businesses were run in the same manner. When it came time to bury my mother in law, my husband said that his mother had said she wanted Anthony from Cappetta’s Funeral Home to handle it when she passed, as he had done such a great job when her husband died back in 2011. So when it happened that’s who he and his sister chose. Even though my father in law had a full wake with a coffin, my mother in law wanted to be cremated and did not want to be laid out. That was no problem. Anthony answered all their questions and took care of all the planning that it would entail. And he even helped set up a visitation hour before the funeral mass, so everyone could come and pay their respects to the family before the Mass.And the next day he was right there for the immediate family, at the burial site overseeing the internment of my mother in law.I can’t stress enough how kind and compassionate Anthony was during this trying time for the family. He was always just a phone call away to handle any last minute call or problem we needed handled.

We could not have been more pleased with our selection of Capetta’s for the services of my son. Tony went beyond expectations in so many ways. The facility was perfect and conducive to having food and coffee for the many guests who traveled-in. Although we packed the place with guests, the facility made it easy to float between the parlor area and the lounge/eating area.

Anthony did such a fantastic job with communication on everything and made sure everything was lovely. My dad looked amazing on his day and it was nice to see him like himself before his illness took him away. I recommend this funeral home because he makes you feel like family. Cappetta's Funeral home, specifically the owner Tony, made the best of a very sad situation. We met with him prior to the passing of our mother and he helped us get everything in place with decisions made, for when the time came. He made the entire situation easy for us and took care of everything. We just made a phone call when the time came and he handled everything smoothly and without any additional stress for us. He is very responsive to calls, and a follow through, kind person. For reference for those reading this, my mother chose to be cremated. I have nothing but wonderful things to say about the service we received and would recommend him highly.

When my husband, Rowland (Skip) Munn, passed away on January 15th, at Loyola Hospital, my daughter made several calls to different funeral homes to get information on cremations. After the calls were made she said that Tony at West Suburban was so nice and informative about their services that we picked them. Tony, what can I say. You did a fantastic job for my husband's wake and funeral. It couldn't have gone any smoother. Most of the people that came said the same thing. Harold looked wonderful and the place was set up wonderfully with all his special things. The cemetery was unbelievable! Your setting up the service people to fold the flag and play taps was a real special thing. I wasn't expecting how special that was! Your keeping the break room full of snacks and drinks was something I never worried about. I couldn't recommend you any higher than you deserve. Continue doing what you do so well.

The West Suburban funeral home was a gracious host for my father's (Harold Mattes) funeral. Tony made sure everything was organized and well-structured. He was very receptive to the family's needs. He really made the whole process flow seamlessly. The funeral home helped facilitate the whole process while allowing the family to focus on coping with our loss. Tony organized the military tribute at the cemetery and it was a wonderful surprise. The facilities were well kept and the perfect size for our gathering. Tony helped me during the whole process from picking the days and times of the visitation, funeral and burial, to the casket and prayer cards, and even ordered our funeral lunch. The facility has a homey feel to it. It is tastefully decorated with brand new carpet, a lovely break room, and quaintly decorated restrooms.Since it is a smaller facility and only held one funeral at a time , it was more private than the big corporate types of funeral homes.Everything turned out beautifully and was a very reasonable price. I highly recommend Tony and his facility.

My father passed away this month. Tony and his staff were amazing. Tony came out to the house and meet with my stepmother and I and helped us in our decision-making process with patience and grace. He was present and the wake and funeral, easy to access, and quick with answers. Dad's wake went off without a hitch, and the staff were always available during the wake while somehow also making themselves scarce. I don't know what else to say. Honestly, couldn't really ask for more. Thank you Tony!

My mom was killed in a car crash and after a friend of a friend who works in bereavement services recommended West Suburban Funeral Home, I went to see if this was a good fit for my needs. Tony was so kind, empathetic, accommodating to all of my requests, and a real comfort in making a really painful time a little easier. The facilities can accommodate 50-60 people, he had easels for the memory boards I made, everything was executed with no issues. Rather than nickel and dime pricing, Tony has a package price and was clear on what was included with that package. In this instance, I was thankful to not have to make more decisions than was necessary. Tony helped the people that loved my mom say goodbye and I am thankful.

If I could give this place 10 stars I would. My nephew passed away quite unexpectedly and tragically in February. We live in Ohio and he lived in Chicago.We did not think it would be possible to view his body due to the nature of the death. When we found out we could, my family didn't think they would be able to handle seeing him. I told my sister I would go and see him and let her know if I thought she could handle it. They did such an amazing job.....They literally made it possible for my sister, my niece and his Fiance to say good bye to him. To talk to him, to touch him.... to say Goodbye. Words could never express the gratitude I have for them. They made it possible for my family to have that last Goodbye and I am very thankful to them.
