From the moment I met Gary Vinson at the hospital to take my husband's body, until the burial and even after, I was treated with compassion, kindness and respect. Any questions I had were answered in a timely manner. The entire staff at Baker McCullough were wonderful and made my family feel cared for and loved during our difficult time. Also a few weeks later, when my husband's father passed away, the same treatment was repeated for my mother-in - law. She said how blessed our family was to have such a caring team to deal with at Baker McCullough Funeral Home. We would highly recommend them.

They have made getting loved ones home to Savannah easy. If you have never planned a funeral, they are a good group to work with. They can also be trusted to take good care of your loved ones. The care i got from Baker McCullough staff when i had to set up plans for my loved ones funeral was remarkable. They showed me everything i had to do. Every step was just like my aunt wanted for her family and friends. The staff (Tripp and Lisa) were nice and showed that they cared about you. The rest of the people on the staff were just as caring. It was like being a part of family when you talked to any of them. I have had two family members taking care of at BakerMcMullough and the experience is worth recommending to all. The service was excellent and after all was said and done, Angie helped me out with getting all the VA paperwork filed. 61 days later we once again had dealings with Baker McCullough when my mom passed away. Amanda was just as helpful and understanding. We have received many messages from them just checking to see how we are doing.I highly recommend Baker McCullough Funeral home when the time comes that you need the services that they offer.

Angie met with my children and I and was so patient as she guided us through the process of planning his funeral. We did not feel the least bit pressured or rushed while making decisions. My mother passed away on July 1st and Baker McCullough was recommended by a family friend. I'm so glad I listened to her because they took care of my mother and my family so very well. They were so kind and knowledgeable, every time I had a question I didn't even have to ask because Jason explained everything so well, he made it as easy as possible for us to get through this horrible time. My mother would have been pleased.I have since recommended Baker McCullough because we will all need this service one day, so why not have a company that treats families with compassion and understanding, right? I have been to other funeral homes where I felt we were being rushed out, this is not the case with Baker McCullough, and I am grateful for that. Our entire experience planning my parents funerals just 9 days apart was truly easy. Angeline was caring, friendly, knowledgable, patient and so very kind. After funeral number two she honestly felt like family or that we had known her forever. She was also amazing with my grandson at my mom’s visitation. Highly recommend Baker McCullough funeral home. We recently used them with the passing of my 99 year old Mother. They are very experienced, efficient, and compassionate. We used them 27 years ago for my Dad’s passing and they still had his file with casket selected, times of the service, etc. We were able to basically duplicate the service and visitation that we had 27 years ago. Would gladly recommend them to anyone!

Jason and the staff answered all our questions and did not pressure us to do things in any way other than what was in our best interest at a time in life we were most venerable. I want to take a moment to thank trip Hardy and the staff at Baker McCullough funeral home. I recently lost my husband and at a time like this it's hard to make decisions that are necessary for all the funeral arrangements. But but trip Hardy was very compassionate and in control. Several years ago, I chose to take out an insurance policy for my mother to help with her funeral cost. I chose Baker McCullough because our family has deep ties with Baker. When our mother passed recently, Baker McCullough was there to help us during this time. I cannot say enough about the staff at Baker-McCullough funeral home. Unfortunately, my family has dealt with quite a few deaths over the past year. Dealing with unexpected deaths and what comes with it is so difficult and honestly terrifying because you walk into it feeling lost. Angeline Mauro ("Angie") assisted our family for my father and grandfather's funerals within a month of each other. She showed our family unwavering love and support during these difficult times to the point where she felt like family. She is so kind, helpful, sincere, comforting, professional; I cannot say enough great things about her. She always made herself available when we needed her to help with questions or concerns we had going through the process, even weeks following the passings. She created the most beautiful obituaries/memorials and made everything so easy and seamless during such a difficult time. About an hour after Hospice called me just after midnight to tell me of her demise, a gentleman from the funeral home called me to tell me that he had my Mom and she was safe and he would take care of her. That may seem odd, but in that lonely moment, in the middle of the night, it was exactly what I needed to hear. I will never forget the comfort he gave me in that terrible time. (I don't know the name of that person.)The next day, Our funeral director, Gary Vinson made our experience planning my Mother's funeral in June 2020 very easy. He is skillful with very different personalities. He knows exactly what he is doing and guides you effortlessly. I would say it was a caring and focused experience all around.

When my husband passed on, I went to my niece Jennifer Waters. She is the funeral director here. She took such good care of me with all the planning and preparing that went on. My husband was her uncle so she got emotional with me while doing this. I cannot thank her and the rest of the family enough for all that has been done. My husband passed way unexpectedly. My family has used Baker before for my grandparents, my mother and brother so that made this choice and easy one. This is where I met Angie. She was genuinely compassionate and understanding. She walked my son and I thru this step by baby step. She listened to us, exactly what we wanted and she went above an beyond. After the "paperwork" portion of this, Angie asked me what I had for an obit. When i could not produce anything but a name on a piece of paper, she looked at us and said. tell me about him. After 10-15 mins (if that) of us telling her stories she composed and obit that has knocked everyone who has read it, socks off. She captured the essence of my husband 10 fold. Angie truly has a gift! I cannot explain in words how truly awesome this lady has been. All the way thru picking up his remains and her adding certain items to the box i brought. No one will ever be able to hear zip ties and duct tape and not think of Gordon and Angie because ive told everyone who's read it all about how it came to be! I cannot thank you enough for how memorable you have made this experience.

When you think about burial or a funeral the words easy or good are not normally choice words. However, Trey Brown and Gary Vinson made what was already a horrible and very emotional time for my husband and I so much easier. At least as far as the preparations were concerned. We have a very large immediate family and we had some rather large requests but they never faltered and worked diligently to make it happen. Trey sat with my husband and I for several hours and we left feeling confident that our loved ones wishes were going to be fulfilled in the exact way they would have wanted. Their poise and patience is beyond words. Their kindness exceeds itself. I don't know of anything they could have done that would top what they already did. I cannot say enough about the staff at Baker-McCullough funeral home. Unfortunately, my family has dealt with quite a few deaths over the past year. Dealing with unexpected deaths and what comes with it is so difficult and honestly terrifying because you walk into it feeling lost. Angeline Mauro ("Angie") assisted our family for my father and grandfather's funerals within a month of each other. She showed our family unwavering love and support during these difficult times to the point where she felt like family. When we lost our father due to Covid earlier this month I had to start figuring out where and what to do next. Being that he was visiting from out of state I thought this would be complicated. I was immediately impressed with how everyone handled and comforted my entire family. About an hour after Hospice called me just after midnight to tell me of her demise, a gentleman from the funeral home called me to tell me that he had my Mom and she was safe and he would take care of her. That may seem odd, but in that lonely moment, in the middle of the night, it was exactly what I needed to hear. I will never forget the comfort he gave me in that terrible time. (I don't know the name of that person.)The next day, Our funeral director, Gary Vinson made our experience planning my Mother's funeral in June 2020 very easy. This is a wonderful team. My dog of 11 years passed away and I was completely heart broken. I called them crying and I know they could barely understand me but they were so calm and worked with me and didn’t rush me until I could get the words out about having him cremated. We made it to the location and they were so kind to us and even though some people would have made me feel crazy for caring so much about my dog they didn’t. They made me feel comfortable and safe and that they cared. The other thing I liked about them they didn’t try to force add ons on me which was refreshing. In my condition they probably could have taken advantage of that and they didn’t which I truly respect. When I got midnite back it came with things I wasn’t expecting. There was like a little obituary, his paw print and a lock of his hair saved. I truly love how understanding and caring they are.

It has been over a year since I used Baker to handle my wife's arrangements. I would note that if this review was for what happened in Savannah, then it would be higher. The only issue I had in Savannah was being lied to about the death certificates.I don't know if this was a lie of omission or commission. They told me that the included death certificates would not be enough so I bought extras. I just counted and I still have 17 death certificates. It turns out that banks, brokerage firms and businesses no longer keep death certificates. They scan them and give them back to you. Why didn't they tell me this?We went to the mountains of NC to bury her in my family's cemetery. They said that they could take care of this but things quickly went to hell in a hand basket. One would think that when you have paid almost $16,000 for a service, then there would be no issues.When we arrived at the cemetery, the problems started. There are 8 in my immediate family and they had only six chairs under the tent. This didn't include a seat for my 87 year old mother and her ill sister. So members of my family had to stand during the graveside service.When I complained about this later, I was given the poor excuse that this was due to Covid. I then asked, "If that was the case, then why were the six chairs all pushed together". I didn't get a reply.The biggest problem then occurred after the service. The company that Baker hired to dig the grave would not return and move the dirt that was placed on my aunt's grave. I called weekly about why this was not done and each week received a new lie.Baker kept commenting that they could do nothing about it as they had already paid them. During that month, I received two phone calls from Baker from gentlemen I had not met and both wanted to know if there was anything I needed. I noted the issue with getting the dirt moved and they both talked like a used car salesman about the issue. Both times, as I hung up the phone, I thought about what a waste of my time those calls were.After a month with nothing happening, I put out a plea on Facebook and LinkedIn for help with this. I must have some powerful connections as within two days the dirt was moved.Later, someone told me that Baker is owned by a firm out of New Jersey. That then explained to me everything that happened. I have begun setting up my service and I have selected Fox and Weeks, a locally owned company.

Garry V. was an absolute pleasure to work with. I had dreaded the experience of planning my dads cremation and service. I fully expected the “slimy car salesman” but it was the exact opposite. The service could not have been more joyous. Mr. Baker even played to organ. I could not give them a higher rating. Other businesses would be wise to model their customer service experience.

It has been over a year since I used Baker to handle my wife's arrangements. I would note that if this review was for what happened in Savannah, then it would be higher. The only issue I had in Savannah was being lied to about the death certificates.I don't know if this was a lie of omission or commission. They told me that the included death certificates would not be enough so I bought extras. I just counted and I still have 17 death certificates. It turns out that banks, brokerage firms and businesses no longer keep death certificates. They scan them and give them back to you. Why didn't they tell me this?We went to the mountains of NC to bury her in my family's cemetery. They said that they could take care of this but things quickly went to hell in a hand basket. One would think that when you have paid almost $16,000 for a service, then there would be no issues.When we arrived at the cemetery, the problems started. There are 8 in my immediate family and they had only six chairs under the tent. This didn't include a seat for my 87 year old mother and her ill sister. So members of my family had to stand during the graveside service.When I complained about this later, I was given the poor excuse that this was due to Covid. I then asked, "If that was the case, then why were the six chairs all pushed together". I didn't get a reply.The biggest problem then occurred after the service. The company that Baker hired to dig the grave would not return and move the dirt that was placed on my aunt's grave. I called weekly about why this was not done and each week received a new lie.Baker kept commenting that they could do nothing about it as they had already paid them. During that month, I received two phone calls from Baker from gentlemen I had not met and both wanted to know if there was anything I needed. I noted the issue with getting the dirt moved and they both talked like a used car salesman about the issue. Both times, as I hung up the phone, I thought about what a waste of my time those calls were.After a month with nothing happening, I put out a plea on Facebook and LinkedIn for help with this. I must have some powerful connections as within two days the dirt was moved.Later, someone told me that Baker is owned by a firm out of New Jersey. That then explained to me everything that happened. I have begun setting up my service and I have selected Fox and Weeks, a locally owned company.

He has handled all my family needs (approximately 30 members)Over the past few years --the latest being Winston Richardson --a saint and another man of total integrity and .compassion .He and Francis were the all American family. New person handling my mom’s arrangements. Very nice and kind but needs to work on details. Obit needed all info in it which they had in writing and spelling also capitalization. Proof reader would be great. After 3-4 times trying to correct by email I just corrected it. He then posted my copy. I understand new but have a back up to help. Because of this I started to call for all the arrangements to make sureeverything included. Like I stated very kind but work on details because my brain was not in it.
