The staff at Poteet & Son Funeral Home were the most compassionate, kind and genuinely caring during the most difficult time in my life when my husband passed. I will never forget the kindness they showed me and my family. The funeral director was absolutely the sweetest, most kind person and made me feel as if I was his main concern. Luke and the Thomas Poteet & Son staff exceeded our expectations in every aspect of my father's funeral. From the initial planning to weeks after the service, the experience was outstanding! They provided a pressure-free environment for selecting services and products, and their demeanor throughout the entire process was superb. This is the funeral home I personally want my children to use when I pass. I still have people complimenting us on how proficient and elegant my father's service was.Kudos, to Luke and the rest of the team! You've genuinely made this difficult time more bearable. Thomas Poteet & Sons handled both of my parent's funerals. My mom passed away in 2010 and my dad a little over a week ago. Everyone that we dealt with then and now has been caring and professional. Mike handled my mom's funeral and was the funeral director again for my dad. He kept us informed both times of what needed to happen when and kept things moving as they should. I highly recommend using them and will again in the future when needed.

Luke Teague is an invaluable asset to Poteet & Son Funeral Home.He helped me with both of my parents arrangements and most recently helped me to bury my husband. He is kind, compassionate and caring. My wife passed away after a 4 year battle with breast cancer, and the folks at Poteet and Sons were amazing. They were accommodating to our every request and need, professional yet personal when it was needed. They took the best and gentlest care of my wife and helped me and my family to say goodbye to her. Though it’s been a few years, I wanted to write a review for this exceptionally professional and compassionate Family Business. We chose Thomas Poteet and Sons Funeral Home for my Father 2012, my Brother 2015, and my Mother 2018. I knew Buz and went to Medical College of Ga with Anna...however I knew Poteets Funeral home even better because so many loved ones and friends joined here year after year. Poteets became like a place of comfort which I will always remember as having made the hardest losses in my life easier- softer. Their care and concern and professionalism is impeccable and so genuine. Thank you to the Poteets for being consistent and available to all my Augusta Ga friends and family. They are there and are available moving sometimes silently in the background handling every little detail with care while stepping forward at the appropriate moments to check on you and even at times help you smile at a time such as loss. The very best place to remember and honor your loved ones. A++++

100% recommend Thomas Poteet and Sons funeral home! I havent used them as far as humans go, but I can imagine they treat them with the same respect and dignity as our four legged companions. I used them several years ago for my terriers cremation and just used them again last month for my mastiff. They were quick, professional, and affordable. Definitely worth the 3 hour trip for me and will use them again in the future!

We used Thomas Poteet after the passing of my grandfather. While the passing of a family member is never easy, Poteet helped make the process easy as they could. Unfortunately for my family, Poteet has made the passing of my grandmother the most horrendous and scarring experience. My father, aunt and uncles are left with images of their mother that cannot be erased. Poteet failed to have my grandmother ready for our final goodbyes upon our arrival. Poteet proceeded to act EXTREMELY unprofessional as the staff chewed/smacked their gum, arms crossed, with no compassion (come to find out one was the OWNERS SON). Do not recommend this funeral home for anyone who cares about their loved ones. The staff was despicable with their demeanor, the lack of care, and placement of my grandmother. We were informed that Poteet ONLY provides haired brush and mouth closed, which the latter was not even done, is beyond heartbreaking. After this horrible experience was over, I was informed more about the transporting of my grandmother from her home where to passed to the funeral home, it was so heinous that sharing it over the internet would be disrespectful to her. So just take my word- never chosen them.

Poteet Funeral Directors are excellent. The service was superb, caring, considerate, and extremely professional. Their attention to detail was outstanding and the facilities are beautiful. We were delighted with our director and the staff. We highly recommend Poteet for so many reasons.

It's been over a year since my wife passed away. But I had been delivering flowers to all the funeral homes in Augusta area. But everytime I delivered to Thomas Poteet and son everyone was so frindly and nice to me. So I had already made up my mind of who I wanted to take care of my needs. Everyone treated me with great respect. I wouldn't go any where else. I've alresdy talked with them about what I want done. Thank you to everyone there. Junie

I'm giving one star only because the place was clean as best I can recall. We had just lost our son so I wasn't paying attention to that.We are from Ohio and our young son passed away in Augusta. Our funeral home director arranged for us to sign paperwork that we needed at this funeral home so that we did not have to drive to Atlanta.We certainly appreciated that the funeral homes work together in this manner.But. There was confusion from the moment that we walked in the door. I can even accept the fact that we were told we were at the wrong place at least three times by the large dark hair gentleman that reminds me of a used car salesman. He had no understanding of what we clearly explained and then made the assumption that we were there to talk about having our son cremated. Confusion happens, I get it.Now here is my problem. You sir treated us with complete disrespect even as you thought that we were seeking your service. You told us that your cremations were expensive and started at around $3000.00 but there was a place nearby that could do it for around $1000.00. You looked down your nose at us and your arrogance was visible. When you made that statement having no idea what we needed or why we were there.I'm still scratching my head as I write this. Did we appear as though we could not afford your service for some reason?My guess is that when you hear the word cremation, you realize that without enjoying the markup on the casket and peripherals, you miss out on the cash to buy another cheap black suit that doesn't fit.Shame on you and your smug arrogance.Thank you to the polite young gentleman in the back office for taking care of what we were there for.

I would rate this funeral home 10 stars if I could. My daughter died unexpectedly and they organized everything perfectly for her celebration of life service. They thought of every little detail that we needed and carried it out for a flawless service. Everyone that came to the service was amazed at how unique and refreshing it was from a traditional service and how the people who didn’t know her actually felt like they did by the end of the service. They were professional and perfectly orchestrated and made everyone feel at home. I thank you from the bottom of my heart for everything they helped us with. They made it as stress free for us as it could possibly be. I would recommend this place to anyone needing their services. They went beyond what was expected

I would not recommend!!!!!!My family has used them all my life. My dad was friends with Tommy, and we highly respected Tommy and his parents.My mother and I had a horrific experience with Stephen and Buzz when my dad passed away. They would nit allow us to communicate with Tommy at all expense. We even tried to reach him at his home, and they prevented us from reaching him there.It was all about money to them. They had my dad, and they had us.Until this happened. I would of told you nit to go any were else, but since Stephen and Buzz have taken over. I suggest you to RUN and DON'T STOP!!!!!It was hard enough loosen my dad, but then to be treating the way they treated us was unreal. I had talked to Tommy before my dads open heart surgery, and was welling to pay up front for him to be transported back home from Atlanta, and Tommy said, "Dedra we are praying the Clyde will be fine. Anyone here will honor my agreement with you. He is my friend. Stephen called when daddy passed, and said he would honor anything his dad said. That he couldn't talk to me at that time. The whole story changed as soon as they had my dad."Don't use them!!!!
