I recently lost my dog and my vet used Jacksonville Pet Crematory. As they took care of my cat in 2011, I felt confident that there would be no issues. I was shocked when I picked up my dog's remains and found them to be in the wooden box and sealed shut with packaging tape and it was done so sloppy. I have never seen an urn closed up with tape that would be used to seal a moving box. I am hoping that his remains are in a bag as I was promised as I plan to change out his urn to something nicer. They had nice urns on their website but nothing that I liked enough for what they were charging when you can find them elsewhere much cheaper. I understand it is a business and you need to make a profit but screwing over people who are grieving is not ethical.

We have been using Jimmy's services for over 10 years and for numerous family pets.We went this direction to be assured that the remains we received were actually our pet and only our pet. While we trust our veterinarian, it wasn't clear who they contracted with or how that company actually handled the cremation. We really like having the entire process handled locally and being able to trust the result.We found that making arrangements at the front desk of the vet's office wasn’t right for us. Jacksonville Pet Funeral Home has a large dedicated facility and we've been able to make these decisions in private without being rushed. We have chosen from the the sample urns on display and we’ve also special ordered items in the past. Everything has been high quality and the wooden items have held up very well over the years.For us, the most important aspect of the service has been dealing with unexpected timing. Jimmy prioritizes being available for pickups or meeting you at his office if you are bringing your pet to him.For example, I’ve been to his office a number of times on a Saturday or Sunday morning. In another case, he knew our veterinarian and worked out a pickup on a Saturday when the vet's office was normally closed. Each time, this has kept an already stressful situation from being more stressful due to unfortunate timing.I highly recommend this company and giving some thought to what you might do well in advance of needing the service.

I rarely the time to write a review on any business, but feel the need to do so today. I had to endure the nightmare that every pet owner dreads on Sunday. My best friend Branwen’s health declined quickly. I was blessed to be given another week with her, but knew what the inevitable result was going to be. I had to make a decision to put her down on a Sunday outside of normal business hours. I tried to plan ahead and contacted a 24/7 Vet as well as an on call crematorium. After leaving the Vet’s office, I realized I was not satisfied with my initial choice for the cremation and had to find another option. I soon realized that all of the pet crematories would have sent Bran to a 3rd party somewhere since they do not actually conduct the cremation on site. This was a problem for me because I needed to be assured that she would be cremated alone and I would receive only HER ashes back. After 4 hours of phone calls I decided to wait until the next morning and discovered Jacksonville Pet Funeral Home. After speaking with Jimmy on the phone I felt comfortable that he would provide the services that I expected. I drove Bran over an hour to get to his facility just to deal with this specific company. Later that day, Jimmy actually called because he knew the stress I was going through and wanted to check on me and reassure me that he was going to take care of Bran and I would get her individual ashes back. There are other on site crematories, but they are all large corporate type entities where I fear they would not care as much as Jacksonville Pet Funeral Home did. I would highly recommend using Jimmy’s services during your time of need. I hope my experience can help anyone having to make a difficult decision during a tough time a little bit easier.

We brought our beloved ferret Broomhilda here after she crossed the rainbow bridge. Jimmy was very kind he went above and beyond. He even added an ink paw print for our 4 year old daughter. Thank you for guiding us smoothly through this and the beautiful memorials.

Last year we had to say goodbye to a beloved pet. Arrangements were handled by the Jacksonville Pet Crematorium. We were very impressed with the compassionate, professional manner in which the owner cared for our needs.My wife’s parents live with us, and they lost there beloved pet last weekend. I immediately thought of our experience last year, so even though it was Saturday afternoon, I called and was able to speak to the owner and make arrangements. My wife and I took her parents and there deceased dog in the next morning. I am very grateful for the compassionate manner that the owner demonstrated, as it was a very difficult loss for our family.I definitely recommend this business, and would not hesitate to bring or send family or friends here should they be faced with a similar loss.Thanks very much, for being there when we need you!

If you want the very best for your pet you need to check out Jacksonville Pet Crematory. I’ve used Jimmy multiple times and he’s a true friend and blessing during a difficult time. He will actually walk you through the whole process and explain everything and answer all your questions! He made the whole process so peaceful and eased my mind so much… I can’t say enough amazing things about this man and his facility. The love he has for animals is amazing. He turns something so sad into something so beautiful and peaceful. I just wanted to share my experiences with you. When you get your pets remains back you know 110% they are yours and yours only….

Jimmy was kind enough to meet us at the funeral home for our dog, who was family. I had used Jimmy’s services years ago and completely satisfied. Compassion and kindness are important. It has also been brought to my attention that he handles arrangements for pets who help take care of our community. I would highly recommend.

I just wanna share with you guys if you need someone to take your love pet after it crosses the rainbow bridge then you need to take it to passionate pet care cause they are the best. Mr. Stephan is so kind and caring. He helped me and my daughter through an unexpected incident. I will always refer anyone to passionate pet care. We had our 7th German Shepherd cremated and picked up today from Jimmy at Jacksonville Pet Crematory. His care and professionalism always surpasses our expectations. He treats your beloved family memory with dignity and love. Thank you for your compassion.

They cremate animals with the same dignity and respect as humans. When looking for a crematory, DO YOUR RESEARCH! If you want to be 100% sure the ashes you get back actually belong to your pet, use this place. There is even a private viewing service. I was able to spend a few minutes with my dog, say goodbye and then watch from a room as he was put in the crematory. I was also able to see the ashes being taken out if I wanted (I declined this), and I was able to take him home that day. Most places won't let you see "behind the curtain" like that.

Our baby Daisey passed away a few years ago and we had her cremated. This was a very stressful and emotional time for us. This was the first place I called after she passed away but I’m very glad I found this place on google. He was the most kind and passionate person. Showed us all the options that we had and really cared for our loss. I would recommend this place 100%.

The owner , Jim and I had an ongoing dispute due to the handling of the remains of my kitten who passed . This was due to an unfortunate series of miscommunications but we have since been able to amicably resolve the issue . Mistakes happen in every business , it’s how they are handled by both parties that should be the basis for one’s opinion . I’m content with how the issue was handled in the end .
