It's never a good time when you need a funeral home but these are the nicest most caring folks to deal with. From the first phone call to the final communication, Darin and Carrie not only "cared" for my mom this November and also my dad in 2015, they took care of my sister's and my questions and concerns. It takes a "family" to care for a family.

I can't begin to tell you how amazing these folks were. They handle human and animal arrangements. I used them just this past week to cremate my German shepherd. They were very sensitive to my needs, and while they respectfully let me know what services they offered, there was never a hard sell. There are many out there that will. I will be spreading my pup's ashes and did not need a fancy urn, but they returned Chloe's ashes in a beautiful heavy stock cardboard box with a certificate. It was much more than I expected.I plan on living many more years, but I was so impressed with Lankford Funeral Home that it will be them I'll have my family use when my time does come. There is no higher praise I can give.

Absolute 5 star experience in such a difficult time. The personalized experience, the true sympathy and care they give is amazing. I had to make arrangements to bury my Mom out of state. They answered all my questions with extreme patience, and kindness. Today would have been my Moms birthday, and I received a text from them checking on me and offering to help me if I needed anything. Truly amazing, kind hearted people❤️

Never again will myself nor my family use Lankford for service. At first they seemed fine but there ended up being a problem with the death certificate. All it was is that the Dr didn't sign it. They did nothing to help rectify the matter. It took me numerous calls to the hospice company that cared for her and to vital statistics. Did not get fixed until I wrote a less than pleasant review online to the hospice company. Hospice immediately solved the situation. Took another 48 hours to get authorization to cremate. After 22 days they got the authorization but still took another 3-1/2 days to cremate her. She should have had priority after such a long wait. NEARLY A MONTH. It was like she didn't matter because she was only being cremated. I wanted her remains home and they knew what that meant to me as I was devastated by her death after caring for her for so long. I paid cash out of my own pocket (everything I had) for the cremation so that I could bring her back home. She had no family as she was an only child and both parents passed in 2002. I was her only family. Never again Lankford nor Just 4 cremation. I didn't complain before now for fear that they would just give me someone else's ashes that went unclaimed in place of hers to shut me up. Just picked up her remains and not one simple apology or I'm sorry it took so long. Just an I need your signature. Thank you Lankford for making me feel like she was an inferior human. Don't let this happen to you.Updated to say I was incorrect in saying they waited 3-1/2 days to cremate her. Just found on the burial transit permit she was actually cremated the following day (Friday). I admit when I am wrong. But thank you for making me wait till Monday to pick up the ashes when I know someone was there and you knew how badly I wanted them back.

I am so blessed to have experienced the care, compassion, and genuine sympathy shown by everyone at Lankford Funeral Home. They kept in contact with me every step of the way, went above and beyond by getting a lock of hair, and fingerprint for me. My wife's death was unexpected and we were not prepared for this financially. Even though she was an indigent cremation, we were given a level of respect and dignity that money can't buy. I was surprised to see that their kindness didn't stop when their job was done. A week later I received a personal text asking how I was doing and letting me know that if I needed anything they were there for me! Our beloved Quarter Horse, America's Starlite, had to be put down after almost three years of stoically dealing with suspensory ligament disorder. She was only 13 and otherwise healthy. Lankford was such a blessing through a difficult and what we thought would be a complicated time. Our step mother passed here in Florida but wanted to be buried in a different state. Austin at Lankford made everything so easy and stress free. All details were explained and tended to immediately. They are very experienced with dual state services. They are very compassionate and do not push you to do anything you do not want to do, but rather guided us by listening to what we waned. Thier facilities are clean and well appointed. This review is late in coming but it’s been a hard 9 months. I’ve lived in DeLand for 25+ years and always heard great things about Lankford Funeral Home. My son tragically passed away 9 months ago and they were the first people we thought to call. First off, the facility is beautiful. Very welcoming. Darin and Luz worked with us and they were wonderful. I’m sure no one wants to deal with the death of a child but they were so amazing to us. I had to visit about 5 times for various things and they were great every time. I still receive texts periodically to check up on me and I appreciate it so much. If you find yourself in the unfortunate situation of needing a funeral home, they are the one to pick.

There aren't enough words to describe how amazing this place is, even though this is a job they really treat you like family, they're very compassionate people. Many of my family members have had services here, back in 2019 they handled my grandma's service. Just recently I learned they can cremate your pets as well and do a paw print in ink or clay and it's just so special to me that they do that for a pet thats like family to you, they took such care of my sister's cat and sent her ashes home in a velvet bag with the paw print and clay print we added, plus hair clippings as well. We talked with Austin for this service, I think he said he was the son of the owner? Well he was very sweet and gives the place a good name, we'll continue to let them take care of any future services we might have because of their amazing level of compassion.

What could have been one of the most miserable and difficult of times, became a loving and joyful journey of celebration accomplished with dignity and respect. When it came time to choose the home to take care of my father's funeral, we struggled because there were so few reviews available online. I don't really know what caused us to choose Lankford, but I am so glad we did. From the moment we walked in the door, we were comforted by the homeyness. The visitation area (if you choose to forego the chapel) was comprised of several little rooms with sofas and tables. It made visiting with family and friends cozy and comfortable. Brian, the Funeral Director we met with, immediately made us feel comfortable and at ease, as if we were friends. From there, my mom and I both felt like nothing could have been handled any better. Brian was there every step of the way, and things went exactly as we had requested. He accommodated every need with a smile, and made a very sad process as pleasant as it could have been. We are forever thankful to Lankford, and know my dad, who liked to have everything done just so, would have been honored.

As my wife's death was sudden, and we did not have a burial plan, as soon as her death was told, I looked online for someone to take care of her. Lankford was the first one to respond. So, within 8 hours, they had her situated, and her dad and I had arrangements taken care of. After her ashes were given to me, they still check in to make sure I am OK (I am). I would highly suggest them for anyone who is local and doesn't want to deal with a state/national chain.

We first met with Cheryl to then work with Terri to finish organizing our father's cremation plan. Terri was a blessing to us during this hard time. The funeral director was rude and unkind. Some of the staff were very nice, but overall the place is disorganized. Cheryl’s disregard for my sister and me as our uncle’s sole survivors was hurtful and infuriating. We left our uncle's wake in tears of anger. It was clear she thought someone else was paying the bills, and therefore she wanted nothing to do with us and our wishes for our dear uncle.

My brother died in Florida, and I live in Rhode Island. They made arrangements with the hospital, cremated, and sent his ashes to Rhode Island. It was literally just a phone call and they made a very difficult, emotional time flawless. I highly recommend them

As my wife's death was sudden, and we did not have a burial plan, as soon as her death was told, I looked online for someone to take care of her. Lankford was the first one to respond. So, within 8 hours, they had her situated, and her dad and I had arrangements taken care of. After her ashes were given to me, they still check in to make sure I am OK (I am). I would highly suggest them for anyone who is local and doesn't want to deal with a state/national chain.

When my mother died recently in a DeLand nursing home, the people at Lankford Funeral Home stepped in immediately to make go smoothly. They took care of co-ordinating with the funeral home in my mother's home town to have her remains sent there for her funeral and burial. I could not have expected anyone to be more considerate and professional.

He explained everything thoroughly & guided me in the right direction as far making decisions. He also took the time to fax several documents for me & promptly returned my phone calls regarding questions I had. It is clear that this business cares about customer service.
