This place was absolutely amazing and very caring . They helped my family and I so much during the loss of my father. We came five hours away because my father lived in Connecticut we had no idea of where to go or how to handle things like this . I had to find a funeral home right away To handle my father and that funeral home I called and the people there like Jonathan and Marissa were very helpful and helped me so much to be able to bring my dad to rest and bring him home. Our family experienced a very unexpected loss. The services, compassion and astute manner they professionally provided with such short notice was above and beyond what I expected or have ever witnessed of others in this profession. They treated our family with kindness and provided recommendations based on what we wanted. The entire staff was supportive and respectful. It is accurate with regard to being available 24 hours. Bad experience here. It was very unorganized as no one had communication. During my grievance of my father I was getting repetitive calls asking for items that I already brought in to them as if I never gave it to them. One of my items were misplaced at one point then later found. During the meeting I felt Johnathan had no sympathy for us and was more of a salesman as if my father was a package. Granted I understand it’s a business but the whole experience was very uncomfortable. I felt the services should have been better for what we paid. Even though the payment was broken down to us we weren’t told the head stone was to be purchased on our own separately. Very disappointed with going to Howard k hill. Would not recommend.

I felt like my mom’s body was in good hands. They expeditiously took care of everything that was required within five days of our first meeting. When my Dad passed at home, HKH was there at 1:00 in the morning to receive his body. With their professionalism and compassion they stayed in touch, helping us with evert aspect of the process, from taking the body, picking out an appropriate casket, working on the obituary, posting the notice in the Jamaican newspaper, and everything else. If we were forgetting anything because we were losing our heads, that was okay because they never lost theirs.Though they were paid in full, multiple time over what is now eight weeks, HKH has reached out to make sure everything was okay. For HKH this seems to be more than just a job. It is no less than a ministry, a calling, and a passion. I am more than happy that we chose HKH to handle the complete funeral services.I would be remiss if I did not mention Jonathan's guidance, soft-spokenness, pleasant and professional demeanor. Though we did not know Johnathan prior to my father's passing, I recall multiple times when he was with us for official business yet he did not hesitate to just shoot the breeze with us when I am sure he had work to do. Without a doubt, he is a great asset to HKH and largely responsible for the great review.

The Howard K.Hill Funeral Services that my family and I received when my mother recently passed was excellent from the notification that she was at Hospice to them preparing her and my family for her burial.We utilized every available opportunity to allow them to guide us through the process..She was laid to rest like royalty with the white horses and carriage service. The staff were exceptional and very personable. They were meticulous with details which illustrated that they care and take pride in their service. I can't thank Jonathan the funeral director enough for his time and effort that he spent into making what was a sad occasion one of an amazing experience. They were all such a blessing. Worst experience, over priced and poorly put together. I’ll never recommend this place to anyone I care about. Probably wouldn’t even recommend to someone I don’t care about. Considering how much we paid the service was terrible. My late father would have been so disappointed. After being shown a head stone and a plot for my grandmother to be next my father, they had it included in price. But never said anything about us having to be the ones to purchase the plot and head stone separately. Please be aware before going to Howard k hill. They used to be a lot different but now I wouldn’t recommend for anyone. There are plenty of other places in the area.

My experience with Mr. Howard K. Hill and the staff at the Howard K. Hill Funeral Home has been amazing and provided our family exceptional, sincere, and heartfelt care. Their actions exceeded my expectations. From the time I made my initial call to have my husband’s body picked up, every consideration was respectfully given to my family and me. Initially I ordered 2 memorial blankets but needed more. I called back on two separate occasions, and they graciously accommodated each request. This is just one of the many ways this funeral home and made this entire process less stressful. It has been over 3 months since my husband’s funeral, and I am still impressed at how the staff continues to be of service and that is a real blessing too. Check in calls to ask how I am doing or if I need anything is comforting and supportive. Their “after-care” services are just as meaningful as the services they provided at the beginning of this encounter. Please know that each of you have made a profound difference. Howard K . Hill and his staff are always professional, patient, transparent and forward thinking. Thinking and rationality can be impacted by death. It’s been about a year since my mother passed and I’m grateful I was offered alternative options when working with the funeral staff to honor my mother’s final wishes. Me, being a literal person would have done things just like she told me but Jonathan offered an alternative option that honored my mother’s wishes and my siblings desire to have keepsakes of her. It worked out very well, in the end, everyone was at peace.

From the very first conversation when we found out my mother did not have long to live, until the limo driver said good-bye to me and my family, the staff at Howard K. Hill were the image of the consummate professional and the picture of comfort. With every action they prepared to take, they prepared us. They would inform us, (we were new to all that went into preparing for a funeral) guide us, advise us, but would seek our direction and would respectfully fulfill our desires. For HKH this seems to be more than just a job. It is no less than a ministry, a calling, and a passion. My husband suddenly tragically died and finding a funeral home with a heart of compassion would not be easy. Unfortunately, the methods in the funeral industry are often motivated by greed and preying on the vulnerable. My line of work requires me to deal with funeral services and Ive also dealt w funeral arrangements on a personal level. By the time I arrived to Howard Hill Funeral home w my children I had already been subjected to a handful of negative funeral home experiences . Frustrated & overwhelmed we were pleasantly surprised, to be met with such great compassion. The director listened and immediately stepped into the situation. He took the financial hardship into mind, instead of pitching sales techniques. At last the burden fell off my shoulders. This initial interaction and their professionalism showed me, they were the team I wanted to assist us, on our saddest day. From beginning to end the staff went beyond the call of duty to walk us thru. Not only were we impressed but, so, were those who surrounded us. On the day of the memorial which was out of state, they organized every detail while considering our needs throughout. At the end we were given a beautiful blanket with our loved ones picture & info. In all the years I’ve worked w funeral services, I’ve never seen such heart. Thank you Howard Hill! For embracing and guiding this broken hearted family!

I don't know how to put in words the patience of everyone on staff! I still don't have the words for how much support and care they put in helping to bury my Dad, after I was tired and over it, they kept the ball rolling and patiently kept me on task. The Howard K.Hill Funeral Services that my family and I received when my mother recently passed was excellent from the notification that she was at Hospice to them preparing her and my family for her burial.We utilized every available opportunity to allow them to guide us through the process..She was laid to rest like royalty with the white horses and carriage service. The staff were exceptional and very personable. They were meticulous with details which illustrated that they care and take pride in their service. Worst experience, over priced and poorly put together. I’ll never recommend this place to anyone I care about. Probably wouldn’t even recommend to someone I don’t care about. Considering how much we paid the service was terrible. My late father would have been so disappointed. After being shown a head stone and a plot for my grandmother to be next my father, they had it included in price. But never said anything about us having to be the ones to purchase the plot and head stone separately. Please be aware before going to Howard k hill. They used to be a lot different but now I wouldn’t recommend for anyone. There are plenty of other places in the area.

My experience with Mr. Howard K. Hill and the staff at the Howard K. Hill Funeral Home has been amazing and provided our family exceptional, sincere, and heartfelt care. Their actions exceeded my expectations. From the time I made my initial call to have my husband’s body picked up, every consideration was respectfully given to my family and me. Initially I ordered 2 memorial blankets but needed more. I called back on two separate occasions, and they graciously accommodated each request. This is just one of the many ways this funeral home and made this entire process less stressful. It has been over 3 months since my husband’s funeral, and I am still impressed at how the staff continues to be of service and that is a real blessing too. Check in calls to ask how I am doing or if I need anything is comforting and supportive. Their “after-care” services are just as meaningful as the services they provided at the beginning of this encounter. Please know that each of you have made a profound difference. The first I had with Howard K. Hill funeral home what’s when my mother passed away. They made light of stating her name incorrectly and even thought it was funny. I addressed it with Mr. Hill himself and he apologize profusely and explained there where new people ect.I elected not to make a review because it being a black owned business I didn’t want to make statements that might adversely effect the business.However, after giving them a second chance to redeem themselves I feel it necessary to write a review.The experience from start to finish with the handling of my uncle was horrendous. There was a lack of communication. I was given miss information and ever time I called the information had to be researched it seemed all over again. I left messages for Mr. Hill that were not returned and he said he never got them. when I finally did speak to him and this is when I called his location in Bloomfield Connecticut and expressed my frustration that I finally got a callback. Instead of him addressing my concerns he instead gave rave reviews to the individual that was handling my uncles service. There was no responsibility taken. I asked for one copy of the death certificate But received 2. I asked for a breakdown of the cost and when I finally received it miraculously was down to the Penny. However, I have no way of knowing because I wasn’t provided this information in advance even though I requested it. I’m also still waiting for the pictures that where taken. There will not be a third time. Also, I spoke to other individuals and found out that they had similar experiences. Had I had known this from the start I would’ve gone elsewhere. But, next time I will!!!

There was a lack of communication. I was given miss information and ever time I called the information had to be researched it seemed all over again. I left messages for Mr. Hill that were not returned and he said he never got them. when I finally did speak to him and this is when I called his location in Bloomfield Connecticut and expressed my frustration that I finally got a callback. Instead of him addressing my concerns he instead gave rave reviews to the individual that was handling my uncles service. There was no responsibility taken. I asked for one copy of the death certificate But received 2. I asked for a breakdown of the cost and when I finally received it miraculously was down to the Penny. However, I have no way of knowing because I wasn’t provided this information in advance even though I requested it. I’m also still waiting for the pictures that where taken. There will not be a third time. Also, I spoke to other individuals and found out that they had similar experiences. Had I had known this from the start I would’ve gone elsewhere. But, next time I will!!!

During the time with this epidemic you've been very helpful and filled all needs for every everyone, including disabled handicap accessibility and I thank you very much for your service. Details to financing was very helpful. I would like to set up arrangements for my own funeral service including life insurance if possible and arrangements to pay for my service in the future.with a payment plan. I plan to be cremated and buried in my sister's plot. I'd like to know how to get the tombstones engraved on my sisters Stone which would include my brother Michael P Vaughn and my name on the stone also. Everyone was amazing in the planning of my father memorial service. The staff were very professional, efficient, and allowed things to remain confidential, per the families wishes. Their prices were fair and the services provided (Clergy, singer, pianist) were wonderful, despite the occasion.

I would definitely recommend this service to anyone!!! Unfortunately, I had to bury my son, but I was glad I chose them. Working with them was easy. The staff was down to earth, sympathetic and friendly. They even did a follow-up call to check on myself and my family. I was so thankful for the blanket that they gave me with my son's face on it. I sleep with it every night. Great business with great people!

I have to say they were very Amazing from the first call for information until they buried my Uncle . I would definitely recommend 👌 them 100 percent All the staff members were Amazing they made the process easy and smooth I'm glad I went with my first choice. You will not be disappointed choosing them to carry out your family's last rights . Very attentive, and even when there was a slip up it was fixed immediately .After weeks of service they continued to check to see if everything was OK and if there was anything or any way in which they could help .
