Never thought I'd be writing a review for a funeral home, but here I am.The professionals at Howard K. Hill were extremely kind and gentle with my family. My mom looked so beautiful for her final rest. They took her tiny braids out and did an amazing job with her hair and makeup.They worked some last minute miracles to put together a lovely program and guided us every step of the way.They have reached out since her home going with warmth and genuine kindnes and continue to offer services beyond bereavement.Thank you for making a hard time a little easier.

I have nothing but praises for Howard K. Hill Funeral Services, especially to LaDawn. My dad passed in 2019 and my mom recently, August 22, 2024. Although my parents lived in San Antonio,TX they are both buried in Mountain View Cemetery. LaDawn was nothing short of amazing. Always a friendly, pleasant and very accommodating to my family's needs. LaDawn made contact with a funeral home in TX and arranged for my mom & dad's bodies to be prepped for the flight home to CT. Both of my parents had illnesses in which they had lost a substantial amount of weight. Upon the final viewing, they both looked so natural. I was very pleased with the quality of work. The entire HKH staff treated us with smiling faces and kindness. Our Limo driver, Buster was top notch. He was out driver each time. Thank you to everyone. Howard K hill funeral services did a phenomenal job with the entire process for my brother Darrell Taylor. They listened to all of our requests, and asked questions about our brother. They also made suggestions along the way (because they truly are the experts) without it feeling pushy or pressure. They made sure we had what we needed and communicated along the way so our expectations were met for the services.The services itself was organized, safe (Due to Covid-19), and plentiful. I wasn’t expecting them to incorporate the questions that they asked about him apart of a really nice backdrop within the service.Each member of the staff that I interacted with from the first day of planning and up to the service were professional and kind hearted. Even after the funeral services I think it was a nice touch of getting a text message just expressing their condolences.Without a second thought I would recommend their services.

This was my very first time going to a funeral home not knowing what to expect. I was scared, very emotional.I was very pleased with the services that was provided for my mom’s funeral arrangements.LaDawn worked very closely with my family, she listened to our needs. My son passed away in another state and I wanted him to be returned home to CT. I contacted Howard K Hill on a Sunday and he made all of the arrangements with the hospital in Florida and also a funeral home in the area. He made all the arrangements to have my son flown back to CT within a week! During this time the staff was in constant contact with me every step of the way to ease my mind that the upmost care would be taken to get my son home. Brandi was my contact person to assist me with getting the service together while I was in Florida. We zoomed a lot. She was very patient and comforting with any suggestion that I had. Once I returned to CT we met in person to make the final arrangements.The staff at Howard K. Hill was very professional, comforting, and considerate during this most difficult time for me. If you’re looking for a funeral home to provide the highest care for your love one and the family I would recommend Howard K Hill.

I don't know anyone that has not attended a funeral. However, when you are the one planning the services for a loved one, trying to keep your grief in check in order to get through the business of seeing their last wishes through, I would not want any other team than Howard K. Hill Funeral Services by my side. Even though most of our meetings were remotely done, I never felt alone. I was comforted, my steps were guided and my grief was respected. They made me feel like family.

My family and I would like to thank Mr. Jones and his team for taking such good care of us during time of need. Howard K. Hill Funeral Services was recommended to us by Bentas Funeral home in Harlem. From the moment we called HK Hill, we were treated with respect and they showed us compassion. Our primary goal was for HKH to accept our loved one into there care and prepare her for her journey back to South Africa. Because my wife and I were based in a different part of the country, open communications played an important role in our success. Mr. Jones made himself available daily leading up to our service to discuss daily updates and any road blocks that came about. His assistant was very organized and kept our paperwork in order. They worked closely with the South African Embassy and our loved one was accepted into South Africa with no major issues (we believe this could have gone terribly wrong if we had an incompetent person helping us). Mr. Jones was up front about cost and possible hurdles we may come across. He saved us money where he could and advised us where we should focus more financial resources. We truly believe they made a difference and we thank them for holding our hands during a challenging time of our lives. Howard K. Hill is highly recommended by our family.

When my uncle died suddenly of Covid in 2020 I said let me try a undertaker in the neighborhood. Every aspect of the arrangements were handled with the upmost respect and every person was extremely professional.No matter how many emails or calls I made me and my aunt always got a quick response.They went above and beyond doing extra things like faxing, copying documents ect.When my aunt passed away last month I did not hesitate to hire them again. GA just received the card that was sent for my Brother Clarence Brown’s Birthday which meant a lot and would like to thank you very much. I am reading the pamphlet which was enclosed which was very informative in dealing with the lost of loved ones. i went there because of the suddend lost my daughter. and the minute you walk in there at least i felt it and my sister also you feel a calmness in the air and the directer i forgot her name but she was so friendly and kind and i felt like she care so i would also recommend. and even tho i didn't use there service not that i didn't want to but due to lack of support that i thought i was going to get from my family i couldn't afford it but if i could of they would of been my first choice.

HKHFS was awesome and easy to deal with. Documents were explained and clarified before signing. We didn't have to do anything. HKH took care of it all from the beginning thru the burial and still check on us from time to time. I recommend HKH highly! This was my very first time going to a funeral home not knowing what to expect. I was scared, very emotional.I was very pleased with the services that was provided for my mom’s funeral arrangements.LaDawn worked very closely with my family, she listened to our needs. She explained every details of the process. I would like to thank the staff for a wonderful job. The staff went above and beyond….I loved the “comfort blanket” of my mom.I would definitely recommend HKH for your loved ones.

My son passed away in another state and I wanted him to be returned home to CT. I contacted Howard K Hill on a Sunday and he made all of the arrangements with the hospital in Florida and also a funeral home in the area. He made all the arrangements to have my son flown back to CT within a week! During this time the staff was in constant contact with me every step of the way to ease my mind that the upmost care would be taken to get my son home. Brandi was my contact person to assist me with getting the service together while I was in Florida. We zoomed a lot. She was very patient and comforting with any suggestion that I had. Once I returned to CT we met in person to make the final arrangements.The staff at Howard K. Hill was very professional, comforting, and considerate during this most difficult time for me. If you’re looking for a funeral home to provide the highest care for your love one and the family I would recommend Howard K Hill.

I don't know anyone that has not attended a funeral. However, when you are the one planning the services for a loved one, trying to keep your grief in check in order to get through the business of seeing their last wishes through, I would not want any other team than Howard K. Hill Funeral Services by my side. Even though most of our meetings were remotely done, I never felt alone. I was comforted, my steps were guided and my grief was respected. They made me feel like family.

My family and I would like to thank Mr. Jones and his team for taking such good care of us during time of need. Howard K. Hill Funeral Services was recommended to us by Bentas Funeral home in Harlem. From the moment we called HK Hill, we were treated with respect and they showed us compassion. Our primary goal was for HKH to accept our loved one into there care and prepare her for her journey back to South Africa. Because my wife and I were based in a different part of the country, open communications played an important role in our success. Mr. Jones made himself available daily leading up to our service to discuss daily updates and any road blocks that came about. His assistant was very organized and kept our paperwork in order. They worked closely with the South African Embassy and our loved one was accepted into South Africa with no major issues (we believe this could have gone terribly wrong if we had an incompetent person helping us). Mr. Jones was up front about cost and possible hurdles we may come across. He saved us money where he could and advised us where we should focus more financial resources. We truly believe they made a difference and we thank them for holding our hands during a challenging time of our lives. Howard K. Hill is highly recommended by our family.

This funeral home, its owner, Mr. Hill, Ladawn Jackson-Perry, and all staff were extremely compassionate, professional, timely, and responsive throughout the entire process of arrangements and cremation of my Stepfather. When my uncle died suddenly of Covid in 2020 I said let me try a undertaker in the neighborhood. Every aspect of the arrangements were handled with the upmost respect and every person was extremely professional.No matter how many emails or calls I made me and my aunt always got a quick response.They went above and beyond doing extra things like faxing, copying documents ect.When my aunt passed away last month I did not hesitate to hire them again. GA just received the card that was sent for my Brother Clarence Brown’s Birthday which meant a lot and would like to thank you very much. I am reading the pamphlet which was enclosed which was very informative in dealing with the lost of loved ones. i went there because of the suddend lost my daughter. and the minute you walk in there at least i felt it and my sister also you feel a calmness in the air and the directer i forgot her name but she was so friendly and kind and i felt like she care so i would also recommend. and even tho i didn't use there service not that i didn't want to but due to lack of support that i thought i was going to get from my family i couldn't afford it but if i could of they would of been my first choice.

HKHFS was awesome and easy to deal with. Documents were explained and clarified before signing. We didn't have to do anything. HKH took care of it all from the beginning thru the burial and still check on us from time to time. I recommend HKH highly!
