Eight years ago David handled the cremation of our beloved 15 year old yellow lab/ golden retriever cross. It was an extremely difficult time for us, but David made it easier. Our dog’s ashes were put in a beautiful wooden display box that stays in our living room.Last week out 18 year old cat was cremated by Beloved Companions and Peaches took great care of us with this difficult time.Beloved Companions treats our precious pets with the care and respect they deserve. They also show amazing compassion to us during a very difficult time.Our cat is now in a beautiful wooden box next to our dog’s ashes box.Thank you Beloved Companions for providing this needed service in the most professional manner possible.

I cannot thank you enough for everything you have done for us. Choosing Beloved Companions for the untimely passing of our furbaby, was the best choice I could’ve made. From speaking to a 24 hour on call operator, the lovely Peaches, to meeting with Justin, the director, it was the best service from start to finish. We were all treated with the upmost care, compassion and respect. Our pet was treated with compassion and dignity during his transition to rainbow bridge. We had as lovely as an experience as a person can have at such a terrible time. Peaches and Justin were kind and accommodating. Peaches even kept the Avon location open a few minutes late for us to avoid further fees. Our ashes were back home in less than 48 hours, and the price felt extremely fair. We received a beautiful wooden box, a framed paw print, several additional paw prints, and other thoughtful tokens for $265. Highly recommend.

On 12.26.24 we lost our beloved Princess and although it was a very difficult day for me and my family upon calling beloved companions they made the process smooth while we grieved the loss of our fur baby. I was hours from reaching our new home in town when my sweet princess of 13.5 years passed peacefully in my car. Not knowing where to go I reached out to a local community on social media who unanimously recommended Beloved Companions for her after care. I've sat in front of the keyboard trying to figure out the best way to convey that Beloved Companions and Pawz at Peace helped turn a horribly sad time in our lives into the most comfortable one possible. My wife and I have been devastated for the two years following our little dog's diagnosis with Congestive Heart Failure. For two years, he fought hard and enjoyed his life the best he possibly could. He was an amazing part of our lives and brought so much joy. However, when it was time, it was very obviously... time. (For that, I'm thankful. He had such a strong spirit that... when the time came that he couldn't fight any longer, it was very plain to see.) Completely heartbroken, my wife had heard of Beloved Companions and Pawz at Peace. We called, and Peaches was very kind and considerate. She helped us make our appointment on the same day of the call and being able have things done at our home felt right. It's not just our home; it's his home, and he wouldn't want to say goodbye anywhere else. We were able to assist our dog in his passing outside in our backyard. Dr. Shannon came, and I don't know that we've ever met somebody who was more capable of handling such a loaded and difficult situation. There is basically a powder keg of emotions involved with all of this, and Dr. Shannon navigated that path with such kindness and grace and helped us say goodbye with dignity and respect. Our little guy was not in any pain during the process, and we're confident that he's at home in heaven with Jesus. My wife and I were very emotional, and Dr. Shannon was loving and patient and showed such care. So did Vince, her assistant. We are very thankful for the gentleness and kindness your company offers. They were so kind & comforting to us. So patient with us with our many questions that we had. I strongly recommend them. It was such a long day. First we went to our local vet & got bad news. Then we went to an animal hospital that had an emergency room to see if they could operate on the tumor in his mouth. Unfortunately, he couldn't be saved. So we took him out for an hour to spoil him with things to eat that he'd really enjoy then brought him back so they could peacefully cross the rainbow bridge. They waited for us to drive the hour to them. She even gave us a little time to say more goodbyes. We appreciate it more than you could possibly know.

From the vet , vet tech., the gentleman who picked him up, and of course the caring woman who put it all together for us. Sox is no longer in pain or being medicated twice daily. I cannot say how wonderful it was to have this agency assist our family. My parent’s beloved dog Patches passed away at home and being a larger dog I was unable to get her to the vet. My parents were unable due to their own physical limitations. I called and Peaches was wonderful on the phone and explained all the options to me in such a kind manner. Dave, who came to the home for Patches, could not have been more compassionate and supportive. He gave us as much time as we needed to say our final goodbye to Patches and was so patient and respectful with her. Thank you for your kindness during a heartbreaking time for us. Do not pay in full ahead of time. Record every phone call and video/audio record when they are in your home. I contacted this company to euthanize my dog as she was very old and began to suffer. My dog died prior to their arrival and they were notified. I was told prior to payment when offered a payment plan or to pay in full that if my dog died before they could come they would refund me the euthanization fee. I was then reassured 2 more times i would be refunded when i stated i didn't think my dog would make it. I notified them stating clearly my dog died naturally I no longer need the vet , but I still want the carry out and cremation. The vet was very nice as was everyone else at first, but then the owner Dave refused to give me my refund that was promised and peaches denied telling me I would be refunded. I do have everything on video/auto record as I have a camera inside my house. No policy was explained to me at the time . Very unprofessional stressful situation caused by this company.

I used Beloved Companions for both at-home euthanasia with one of their veterinarian partners and private pet cremation services.Dr. Eva was extremely easy to work with. We scheduled a home vet visit in West Hartford to put down my dog over the phone, she was extremely kind and mindful of our needs while my dog died, explained everything clearly, and asked for consent during different phases of the process.Dave and Peaches were also very kind and helpful in coordinating my dog's remains. The staff they sent to my apartment were kind and thoughtful, and we received my dog's cremated ashes in a small brass and wooden box (as well as a clay pay print and certificate of private cremation) from their Avon location the next day.Note that you *will* have to speak with both Beloved Companions and one of their at home vets separately if you want both services, but the day-of everything is coordinated seamlessly.I would absolutely recommend Beloved Companions for both mobile in-home pet euthanasia and for local pet cremation. The cost was higher than at the standard vet, but being able to have an amazing final memory and knowing I received my dog's ashes (not the ashes from a communal cremation) helped us tremendously.

Please do not make the mistake we did of trusting this company with your pet. After losing our sweet dog to cancer - my very first dog who traveled with me from Maine after college, to our very first home, and was with us through life’s biggest moments, this company made the horrific experience of his passing unimaginably worse. The day after his passing I was feeling desperate to have some small piece of him back. After speaking with this company I was in tears with relief that we would be able to have an ink nose print and paw print made, things we could frame and keep with us forever. That relief was quickly shattered when they informed us the next day that our order for these prints was “overlooked”. To know that his body was now burned and gone forever and these prints could never be collected was absolutely devastating. To make matters worse, I had actually ordered a kit to do these prints at home, but we had foolishly trusted that this company was capable of doing their job correctly. I can’t even begin to explain the horrific gut wrenching pain this company put us through. I will never again trust a company with our pet remains in the future this experience has been too traumatic. On top of it all this company had the inconceivable audacity to charge us the full cremation payment despite providing a horrifically inadequate service. You can never right what you have done. You took something from us that is irreplaceable. You should be ashamed for what you put us through.

I returned home after midnight early Tuesday morning to find that my AmStaff had died while I was out. I was devastated and did not know what to do. I did not know who to call. I googled and found Beloved Companions. Someone answered the call at 1 am. They learned about my needs. I finished that call and within 5 minutes Peaches called me back. She listened to me through my uncontrolled tears to learn what I needed and had affordable options. She talked me through their packages, walked me through how to order the package online, and told me what time her team would be able to pick up my boy. I was even able to break up the payments into four installments.They arrived when they said they would, at 10 am, and were so endearing, kind, and compassionate. It was very difficult for me to see Capone passed away and they handled him with such care it was comforting. They gave me a chance to say goodbye and I believed that his remains were in good hands.Everyone I interacted with from the initial call through the pick up expressed such empathy and compassion it normalized the grief I felt trying to process the fact that my life buddy had died. Thank you so much for existing, Beloved Companions. You made an already devastating event tolerable because of your care.

Upon the loss of my cat, I met with Peaches Miller at Beloved Companions and she could not have been more kind, helpful or professional. We were grieving and the way they handled Rocky was with so much dignity and respect. She kept us updated throughout. I can't put into words how wonderful this place is. I unexpectedly lost my Zoey at home and called and spoke with Peaches, and through my tears she was so empathetic and kind, answered all of my questions and explained the process to me and set up my appointment with Justin who I met with the next day, he was also so empathetic and kind. I didnt feel rushed or pushed, and was allowed to have a moment with Zoey before i left. I felt like my pain was understood, which meant alot to me. I cant express how much I appreciated the kindness from these people. They made this process of cremating my pet seamless and it was quick, I had her back with me in 2 days. Theyre prices in my opinion are resonable too. I will use this place again for my other pets and will recommend to anyone looking for this kind of service.

Finding people to help you through this difficult transition is a blessing. Kindness, compassion, solidarity and company with respect is what I found in this cremation service for my sweet girl Coco. Thank you for being there for me and for patiently answering all my questions. It was hard to leave my Coco, but the sweet woman made me feel like she was in the right place. A few days later when I picked up her ashes I couldn't hold back my tears again but in the midst of my pain I felt peace thanks to Dave. I am very grateful to God for the staff who helped me. I am the owner of 3 therapy dogs. My oldest and dearest friend, Reggie was one of them and died earlier this month. I needed something special, something that would allow Reggie the dignity he deserved. When I called Beloved Companions, Peaches was the kind and compassionate person listening to my story. It wasn’t in my plan to use their services but her words touched my heart and I knew it was where Reggie belonged. She assured me she would wait for me and not to hurry. “I live in town, I’ll wait for you and Reggie”. When I arrived, Dave met me at the car, offering to help. Yet another kind person to comfort me. Though their workday was over, they allowed me all the time I needed in a private, beautiful room with Reggie, until I could bear to say goodbye. It was just what I needed at a most difficult time. As a grief counselor myself, I can tell you that Dave and Peaches get it…your heartache, pain, love for your companion and need to grieve. They validate all you are feeling, and I am ever so grateful to them for being there for me and my best friend. A much needed service in our difficult times. Thank you.

Everything was handled in a very dignified manner and I received my cat’s ashes in a beautiful, wooden box within just a couple of days. I also received a paw print as a remembrance.

Beloved Companions are a responsive, compassionate and reasonable pet funeral and aftercare service that help people manage THE HARDEST aspect of being a pet lover! My first experience with them was recent and it was phenomenal. As sad as it sounds, I'm much reassured having found them, knowing I've got a plan for my pets in the future.My sweet little Morkie passed quietly at home in my arms after valiantly fighting kidney disease. After a moment of gratitude for his peaceful crossing(at home! In my arms!) I realized I had no idea what to do next; he died the night before scheduled in-home euthanasia appointment with Lap of Love. They were going to take care of everything, and I had no idea what to do with his body, and it was already 11pm on a Tuesday! Lucky for us, Lap of Love returned my call and walked me through handling Lucky's little body until the next day****PLEASE also see my 5 star review of Lap of Love!!!***)The next morning, I called my vet about cremation. The receptionist told me bring Lucky in, they could hold him until 'weekly cremation pickup' . I would need to call the office on arrival so 'they could meet me at the back door'. While I absolutely LOVE Lucky's team of vets, I was disgusted with this idea. Also she didn't even offer condolences! (I won't name the practice because the doctors are outstanding!) I said no thanks and looked up pet cremation services on Google.My first and only call was to Beloved Pets. Dave arranged to pick little Lucky up within the hour. He arrived on time and showed nothing less than true compassion, empathy and professionalism. I am so grateful that I did not have to bring Lucky anywhere, and that pickup was so quick. Dave carried Lucky to his van, gently and lovingly as I would have myself. I had a really hard time letting Dave and Lucky actually leave, and he was SO patient and kind, and gave me all the time I needed to say goodbye. I spent at least 15 minutes halfway in in the rear end of Dave's van, saying goodbye to my sweetest little boy. Dave had a schedule to keep and my neighbors were being nosy, but I didn't care and neither did Dave and I believe that Dave is the person who instinctually understands that grief is as complex and varied as we are, and he clearly honored mine.As far as the other variables, I found Dave's prices were very reasonable, competitive to industry standards. He's very responsive, by phone and text(which was a plus for me!)Lucky was ready to come home well before a week went by. I still haven't picked him up, partly because I'm far from the business, but probably also due to fear or some other psychological gremlin. Not once has Dave pressured me to pick up Lucky's urn. Matter of fact, I bet if I asked, Dave would probably drop by with Lucky next time he's in my area. He's THAT kind of guy!Thank you so much Dave, for bringing Lucky on his final car ride🐾♥️🐾

Lost our beloved cat of 19 yrs. The staff was compassionate and caring as we dealt with the process of losing our pet. And we're willing to meet us on our terms and hours related to his passing. Not only do they offer after hour services but even offered to pickup at home. Though we met them at their offices behind Battistones.Hope you never need their services. But, if you find yourself in this position. Don't hesitate to reach out to these caring folks!!

Thanks so much for your understanding at this most difficult time. My little dog was only twelve pounds but he touched so many .He went and visited the people in a convalescent home every week and made everyone smileHe loved his snowsuit which always made is laugh. He loved people and life . I am so glad he was with me for forteen years. Rest in peace Teddy.

I would like to thank "Beloved Companions" for the way they handled the cremation and return of our boy Jackson after his passing. A few things really set them apart. First and most important is compasion: they handled a sensitive and emotional situation with respect and concern. Secondly the Urn is beautiful and a reflection of Jackson. Finally the home delivery made things easier. I just got home from picking up my buddy Copper. I waited to open the bag because I knew my heart would sink. I opened the bag and what a wonderful surprise. I can't tell you how pleased I am. The foot print is just how I remembered his, the fur clippings are of every color the poem and certificate and the box that contained his remains are above and beyond what I had imagined. We can’t say enough about this experience. From the first call (Christmas Day) to the last, Peaches and team took the time to explain the process with thoughtfulness and compassion. We were grieving and the way they handled Rocky was with so much dignity and respect. She kept us updated throughout. I can't put into words how wonderful this place is. I unexpectedly lost my Zoey at home and called and spoke with Peaches, and through my tears she was so empathetic and kind, answered all of my questions and explained the process to me and set up my appointment with Justin who I met with the next day, he was also so empathetic and kind. I didnt feel rushed or pushed, and was allowed to have a moment with Zoey before i left. I felt like my pain was understood, which meant alot to me. I cant express how much I appreciated the kindness from these people. They made this process of cremating my pet seamless and it was quick, I had her back with me in 2 days. Theyre prices in my opinion are resonable too. I will use this place again for my other pets and will recommend to anyone looking for this kind of service.

Can not express how compassionate and caring beloved companions is used their service for the first time 10 years ago and again in 2022 the staff is not all about business but about you and your feelings. They make the process of finishing your fur babies goodbye easy. Very nice to have someone in a difficult time treat you so well. I will highly recommend them always. Finding people to help you through this difficult transition is a blessing. Kindness, compassion, solidarity and company with respect is what I found in this cremation service for my sweet girl Coco. Thank you for being there for me and for patiently answering all my questions. It was hard to leave my Coco, but the sweet woman made me feel like she was in the right place. A few days later when I picked up her ashes I couldn't hold back my tears again but in the midst of my pain I felt peace thanks to Dave. I am very grateful to God for the staff who helped me. My pet passed away this week. After reading reviews from different places decided to go with Beloved Companions. Called early in the morning and spoke with Dave. Within an hour he was at the house to pick up my dog. Dave is very compassionate and took care of things quickly. Would recommend Beloved Companions 100%

I am the owner of 3 therapy dogs. My oldest and dearest friend, Reggie was one of them and died earlier this month. I needed something special, something that would allow Reggie the dignity he deserved. When I called Beloved Companions, Peaches was the kind and compassionate person listening to my story. It wasn’t in my plan to use their services but her words touched my heart and I knew it was where Reggie belonged. She assured me she would wait for me and not to hurry. “I live in town, I’ll wait for you and Reggie”. When I arrived, Dave met me at the car, offering to help. Yet another kind person to comfort me. Though their workday was over, they allowed me all the time I needed in a private, beautiful room with Reggie, until I could bear to say goodbye. It was just what I needed at a most difficult time. As a grief counselor myself, I can tell you that Dave and Peaches get it…your heartache, pain, love for your companion and need to grieve. They validate all you are feeling, and I am ever so grateful to them for being there for me and my best friend. A much needed service in our difficult times. Thank you.

Very disappointing experience unless you pay for a premium service. I highly recommend this business puts a bit more effort in becoming more organized handling customer requests as the disorganization was sadly apparent and only caused more grief to our family. While we appreciate the difficult business you are in it is important to remember that even those paying for the basic services and/or additional keepsakes still deserve the respect and attention to detail as those paying top dollar.
