Carmen helped us from the time we dropped off my girl to the day we picked her up. She was VERY kind to my husband and I. They show you and your pet respect & you really feel their sympathy.

My baby girl Kona had to be put down on February 3rd of this year and as hard as it has been this crematory has been nothing but supportive and compassionate with me. When our beloved cat Pisco passed away last week, VCA Animal Specialty Group recommended Cal Pet Crematory and they kindly arranged to have him picked up by Cal Pet. We quickly received his ashes in a beautiful box, with a kind card from Cal Pet, and a plaque with Pisco's name and paw print. I feel that Pisco was treated with dignity and care and I appreciate Cal Pet for taking the extra effort of sending us a card as well.

It was so hard losing my pet. All interactions with CalPet were professional and met with sympathy. If you go to their facility, despite being in an industrial area, is very peaceful with benches and a small garden. I wanted to buy a box for my dogs ashes but afraid to purchase from a website bc I wanted to make sure it was nice. All the options of their boxes were classy and well made. Have confidence picking a style from their website knowing it’s quality. RIP my sweet chili pepper dog.

They must have changed owners because they are horrible now. I had decades of experience with them and was always impressed with their service. I should have wondered when the staff at the clinic asked "are you sure you want to use Cal Pet". It did not hit me because I was so sad about losing me pet to cancer until later. When I voiced my displeasure about my Cal Pet experience to the clinic they said "yes that's why we don't recommend them anymore.

We took our sweet puppy to Cal Pet after he died very unexpectedly. This was our second time coming here with our Great Dane babies and we were treated with calm loving care and patience. When we brought home our second dog, we put him with our first. Thank you so much for helping us through such a difficult time.

When my little o man cat died they were so helpful and nice especially since I’ve had him for ages. They give me a moment of silence so that I could say my last goodbyes to him. They were very compassionate and comforting, knowing that my pet would be taken care of until the afterlife. Very professional and were quick returning his remains to me in a nice box, reminding me of his love of napping in all box shapes he could fit in.

This is the second time I've had to use this service. It is under new ownership since the last time but the quality of care remains the same. I felt at ease knowing that my Lil sh*t was in good hands because of the care the woman took when she took her from me. When I picked her up, her lovely wooden urn was in a velvet bag. I can not praise this facility enough. They made a bad situation so much better. From the time my vet sent my sweet girl to Cal Pet to the time I received her ashes I was comforted, respected and well informed of the process and all the handling of my sweet baby. I had many interactions with several different employees in the office and everyone spoke to me with compassion and understanding of the loss I experienced. A stand out employee was a gentleman named Shane. I originally decided against getting a fur clipping and a paw print. I called the office in a panic thinking it was too late to change my mind. Shane assured me that he would make sure I got exactly what I wanted and that it wasn't to late. Thanks to him I will forever have a little mementos of my baby to cherish for years to come. Great Job Cal Pet!!

We used this place for four Pets and were treated with the utmost care and respect in the loss of our pets. It is under new owners. We were not given the same level of care on the phone nor in person. We picked up our beloved dog’s ashes on Good Friday. We waited outside and then were told that we could not enter because they were under construction. It took several minutes to retrieve our information and several more to bring out our pet’s ashes. They said that there were only two people on staff and that they are not obligated to let us enter. Neither staff person wished us sympathy nor condolences. Do not cremate your animal here. Choose a place that truly cares.

We have entrusted this place with 3 dogs over the years. The first two times were fine. Above and beyond, no, but nothing to complain about. The ashes contained a certificate of cremation along with some literature on the grief of losing a pet and the box was in a nice purple bag so the presentation was really nice. However, when I asked if they had his bed he was brought in on, the woman was not as compassionate. It wasn’t so much what she said in the back & forth as I questioned it, but about the lack of compassion when explaining their policy – and even more so, her parting comment. As I was about to break down – upset about my boy dying, and maybe silly - but upset I didn’t have that one last thing of his anymore, I shook my head and turned to walk off – only to be followed by her sarcastic remark in an elevated voice (making sure I could hear her) “ok – bye now”! Not cool, not compassionate, not professional and beyond uncalled for at a time when dealing with someone picking up their deceased pet’s ashes! Any pet crematorium can provide the cremation service. It’s the compassion and empathy provided by the staff that matters. And she had zero of both.** Edited to note that my husband said she was also extremely lacking in empathy and compassion when he dropped our boy off. However, he also said that the gentlemen that took the dog from my husband were extremely nice and sincere in their condolences.

I've used Cal Pet over the years for a few of my pets, and the compassion I've been given and shown is truly remarkable. Dealing with deceased pets is not an easy job. As a pet owner and animal lover, I know it's very crucial to be empathetic and handle these sweet creature's bodies with the utmost respect they deserve and Cal Pet has been so with each pet. They were even able to make a paw print of my daughter's tiny hamster. They're artists of their own kind. Thank you, Cal Pet, for being there even after my babies have crossed the rainbow bridge.

I was very pleased and love the work and customers service of Cal Pet, especially Karen L., she was very kind, patience, and very creatively to help me picking out the urn, wood and design to put on my dog urn. It was even looked better and more beautiful in person when we came to pick my dog urn from the facility. My Vet and all her staffs all liked it when I show it to them. Thank you so much for all your hard work. And I definitely recomend this Cal Pet company, especially Karen. L, to every one.

They might be OK with the cremation process, and I did get a pretty urn back with his ashes in.I also bought an over priced necklace brass urn for a few hundred dollars. The screw fell out and so did his ashes. And the chain turned black.I called them to ask if they could send a replacement screw for me, and they told me my only option was to rebuy the chain and the urn, even though it was their defective screw that was too loose so they should take responsibility for it. I did not even complain about the black chain, I just wanted to put my baby back in the urn.I would never buy again from a company who wouldn’t take responsibility for their defective part, so I started looking online and found much cheaper necklace urns with real gold which would prevent chains for turning black.This company was once a mom and Pop and they took pride in their business and responsibility, and understood that people were often spending their last time to keep their baby close. Now it’s just a big corporation money grubbing place that’s trying to force people to spend several hundred more dollars because they sold you a defective part.

Was extremely satisfied with their services very dignified, no pressure to buy more items or services, they bundled Bear dog up in a very respectable container with a nice card, I purchased the little paw print casting for ten dollars and it's worth every penny I recommend it highly, after doing some more crying for my little guy I hung it on the wall it'll help me move on, went to the shelter and I'm adopting another little guywho needs a home. I have had taken six of my beloved pets to Cal Pet Crematory over the 7 years period since 2016. The one person who has always taken special care of my Beloved Individual Cremations was Gabriel, which he has always done and gone beyond every possible effort to care for my griefing while I await for a few hours in the waiting room to take my love ones home the same day. We had a convo, that he hope not to see my sadness of losing another, at least for a while. Speed up, it has been over 2 years 4 months, since another of my elder fuzzy needs to be care for at this facility. But this time when I called to ask for Gabriel, the lady on our convo said he no longer works here, it has been a change of ownership, and that they no longer takes Individual Private Cremation, no matter what the cost I would be willing to pay for this service. However, she did refer to the company that has brought this facility Cal Pet Crematory. I called, and the gentleman were very accomodating and very understanding of my needs. And because he knows I have gotton to know Gabriel, he explained, and I was sad to hear of the very unfortunate news of him. Please allow this facility to work out the necessary details under the new ownership, and hope they will bring their passion and care back as before.

During this most difficult time, having to say goodbye to my sweet Dachshund Chessie, a best friend for 16 years, Cal Pet was very compassionate. They were very prompt so I was able to bring her back home where she belongs. They had a nice selection of urns and boxes to choose from. I chose a lovely pine box and they made a nameplate for it. The staff was very nice and helpful.

I have entrusted now with my 4th cat. They have always been very professional and compassionate and caring. Sure the location looks weird at first in the back of a mechanical shop, but once you pull in the parking lot , it is peace. They do a great job !

I unfortunately lost my Second Senior Fur Baby and could not bring him here. They are now owned by new owners. So they No longer do Rush One Day Service, you have to wait 7-10 Business Days to receive your pets remains. They Ship UPS with Tracking. I am out of town so I had no choice but Togo to West Coast In Los Angeles for One Day Cremation Service and they were fantastic! 4/7/23

This place is amazing! They have taken care of three of my cats. My cat died a week ago. 1 week later I called them and asked if Bunny cremation were ready for pick up they said yes. I go to there place and pay, they tell me to wait while they prepare everything. I waited, and told me that it wasn't ready yet. Josh I think that's his name told me he was sorry for making me wait and that the cremation weren't ready. He offered me home delivery and put my cat cremation in a cute brownish box. The next day, when I got home from work, i opened the box and the box was wrapped in paw print tissue paper. Everything overall was WONDERFUL! I love there service and staffs. Great place. Have used Cal Pet during many difficult times, seven to be exact. They are caring, professional and reasonable. I just lost my sweet rescue cat on New Years Day. The emergency vet hospital (True Care, Studio City) tried to steer me towards a crematory service that would have cost three times what Cal Pet charges! I am so grateful for Cal Pet.

Anyone look for a reputable crematory for your beloved pets then you should use Cal Pet Crematory. I unfortunately have had to bring several of my pet to them over the course of 19 years. They are compassionate, caring and so respectful of what you are going through. They go above and beyond to make sure your pet is handles with dignity and care. I wouldn't even think of taking my fur babies to anyone else. Thank you folks at Cal Pet for everything you do. For the second time, I've entrusted the aftercare of a precious little buddy to this fine company. On the phone and in person, the staff are understanding and respectful. They answer all one's questions and keep their promises. And their charges are reasonable. I find it very comforting to keep some physical presence of my darlings after they have passed. My 9 year old son's 1st pet hamster Cookie passed away and he wanted her with us forever....Bringing Cookie to the Cal Pet location was extremely emotional and such a sad day, but "Nick" was kind and compassionate and made my son feel comfortable handing over his hamster to him.That kind of care made the whole experience a little better to endure. I would like to say that the people at Cal Pet have always been kind and compassionate. Myself and my family have been using their service's for our fur babies at least 20 yrs that I can remember and will continue. There has been many times that I have called them sobbing to make arrangements to cremate my babies and they have always treated me so kindly. I would highly recommend them for anyone that has unfortunately lost their fur baby.

Last week I lost my best buddy, Toby, and I cannot express the level of devastation and grief I experienced (and still am).It was a devastatingly monumental loss, but the kind people at Cal Pet Crematory honored that loss in the best way it could’ve been done.Shane was so extremely compassionate, patient, and kind and made this difficult process so much less painful for me than I anticipated it to be. He even kindly respected my wishes to separate any large bone fragments so that I could keep them.Today, I received a package that was (albeit saddening) so carefully and thoughtfully arranged.Toby’s paw print even had a couple of his little white paw hairs still attached to the clay.It was absolutely touching to see this package so thoughtfully arranged with love; and I am so thankful for the kind people at Cal Pet for putting their hearts into their work and understanding the strength of the bond between us and our precious animal companions.My heart hurts a little less now that Toby is with me physically. Thank you.

My family has had over the years, 5 pets cremated by Cal Pet Crematory. The VCA Pet Clinic made the arrangements for all 5 pets. I was very pleased with the caring, sensitive, professional manner in which all our pets cremations were handled. Very supportive staff and compliments to the person, whose name I forgot unfortunately, was sympathetic for the loss of the last two pets whose ashes he dropped off at my home within the last 3 years. Everyone I interacted with was so kind. Handing over Mr. Cat was one of the hardest things I've ever had to do but the person who received him was so kind and supportive. His remains were packaged beautifully and the entire process was very reasonably priced. I keep telling my friends that I hope they don't need this service, but if/when they do they should use Cal Pet.

My pet was attacked by who knows what. I came home and my poor baby was gone. after searching for crematories in my area. I decided to make the drive to sun valley. don't be put off by it's location. It's pretty hidden behind a scrap yard. I walked up and was quickly greeted by Jim. After the horrible experience of losing my two Chihuahuas to a pit bull attack, I chose to have them euthanized and cremated. The pet emergency center arranged to have it done by Cal Pet Inc. and I am so grateful. The people at Cal Pet were so kind, loving and professional. They contacted me and let me know when my pets cremains were to be delivered. They even referred to them by their names which meant so much to me. Their cremains arrived wrapped in tissue paper decorated with tiny paw-prints. Two small pine boxes with locks on them and a little key, In addition there was a clay disc with their paw print on it for each pet. This horrible experience was made bearable by this wonderful company. THANK YOU!!

The employees here are very helpful, we where still in shock after our little girl suddenly passed in the middle of the night. I called the next morning and the person I spoke to explained the process and told me we could come in anytime. The paperwork was easy and they let us take our time picking out the urn and gave us time to say our final goodbye. We picked her up 2 wks later the footprint we got was perfect.

This place is amazing! They have taken care of three of my cats. My cat died a week ago. 1 week later I called them and asked if Bunny cremation were ready for pick up they said yes. I go to there place and pay, they tell me to wait while they prepare everything. I waited, and told me that it wasn't ready yet. Josh I think that's his name told me he was sorry for making me wait and that the cremation weren't ready. He offered me home delivery and put my cat cremation in a cute brownish box. The next day, when I got home from work, i opened the box and the box was wrapped in paw print tissue paper. Everything overall was WONDERFUL! I love there service and staffs. Great place. Have used Cal Pet during many difficult times, seven to be exact. They are caring, professional and reasonable. I just lost my sweet rescue cat on New Years Day. The emergency vet hospital (True Care, Studio City) tried to steer me towards a crematory service that would have cost three times what Cal Pet charges! I am so grateful for Cal Pet.

Anyone look for a reputable crematory for your beloved pets then you should use Cal Pet Crematory. I unfortunately have had to bring several of my pet to them over the course of 19 years. Myself and my family have been using their service's for our fur babies at least 20 yrs that I can remember and will continue. There has been many times that I have called them sobbing to make arrangements to cremate my babies and they have always treated me so kindly. Last week I lost my best buddy, Toby, and I cannot express the level of devastation and grief I experienced (and still am).It was a devastatingly monumental loss, but the kind people at Cal Pet Crematory honored that loss in the best way it could’ve been done.Shane was so extremely compassionate, patient, and kind and made this difficult process so much less painful for me than I anticipated it to be. He even kindly respected my wishes to separate any large bone fragments so that I could keep them.Today, I received a package that was (albeit saddening) so carefully and thoughtfully arranged.Toby’s paw print even had a couple of his little white paw hairs still attached to the clay.It was absolutely touching to see this package so thoughtfully arranged with love; and I am so thankful for the kind people at Cal Pet for putting their hearts into their work and understanding the strength of the bond between us and our precious animal companions.My heart hurts a little less now that Toby is with me physically. I can't explain how Heartbroken I still am but at the same time I feel a bit at peace knowing I can bring him to whatever house we live in and knowing he's not in the dirt or thrown away like some people do. He came in a beautiful box and was cremated separately to assure we only got his remains and no one else's. This is a very special place. A little hard to see from the street because it is behind an old auto place, so look for the sign! The people are gentle loving souls whose life work is to provide respectful care for your beloved pet's passing. I have taken several cats under many different circumstances (one died from cancer, one was a kitten I saw hit by a car) and our beloved pitbull who I had placed on a board so two people could carry her. The man who came out to the parking lot to help me lift her just picked her up into his arms, cradled her and said how beautiful she was. It was such a gentle and sweet gesture. These are special people! You don't have to worry or feel like it will freak you out or be weird (I didnt however elect to use the viewing room.) They let you know when the ashes are ready. Their prices are extremely reasonable. I live upstate now and have paid twice the price. where I live. They also pick up and drop off at many vet offices. Ashes can be mailed Fedex to you if you are far away. They also have a variety of urns, boxes available. I would give them 10 stars. And I also would say that driving my pet to their facility and having that closure in a supportive environment was something I would choose to do again with no qualms. I would give them 10 stars.

So kind. Would highly recommend a private cremation. Sweet people helped with closure. They really care about you, your pet, and this process. Do not be deterred by their location. I was very pleased with the caring, sensitive, professional manner in which all our pets cremations were handled. My pet was attacked by who knows what. I came home and my poor baby was gone. after searching for crematories in my area. I decided to make the drive to sun valley. don't be put off by it's location. I run a rescue and we work with many senior and otherwise frail or hospice animals... so sadly we deal with loss on a regular basis. Over the years we have used pretty much every crematory in the area at one time or another... but for the last 10 years we use ONLY CalPet for our crematory services. Just picked up my cat's remains. Not only that the clay paw is not of my cat, they misspelled his name, ny husband's last name and mine. How can you even prove that whatever you're picking is your pet? The reason I know that's not our pet's paw is because we received a clay paw when our pet passed at the vet's office and its so much different, smaller, than the one we received. Asked for hair clipping and did not receive it, asked for a copy of the receipt via email, did not receive it.Please ask your vet to work with another company, extremely dissapointed with their service.

First off ,I went with my little brother and niece to that location that my best friend had recommend to us,after my dog had passed two days ago ,the guy that opened the door for us wasn't even pleasant ,he didn't greet us well and didn't explain anything to us. He must have thought we were some street kids or something because he just his behind there other door . I didn't even get to see any of there urns ,I wanted a special one for my baby ,but nothing . overall experience it deserves two stars.

Awful place. I was trying to understand the cremation process and the young lady rep became upset because I didn’t understand how she was explaining it to me . She than hung up on me. It’s upsetting enough to lose your pet but more so when this crematory shows such lack of empathy. Please don’t do business here. I was referred also to West coast pet memorial and At Garden's Edge, Pet Cremations so I will be calling them.

I don’t write a lot of reviews, but I wanted to share because I had no idea what to expect. Half of me stupidly thought some lady would hand me a ziplock bag of ashes and send me on my way. I realize how silly this is, but I didn’t know.Of course, the people there were extremely kind and courteous. Dealing with complete strangers walking into your office and having to show sympathy for a story you don’t know has to be hard. But from the parking lot to the lobby to the gentlemen offering me sympathy, everything was very well done.There is no lady with a ziplock bag. It’s a lovely lobby, they bring your babe out in a cardboard box (which inside has another very sweet box which holds your can of ashes), you try to sign, they have tissue when you cry instead, eventually you sign and go on your terribly sad way.None of it is easy, but expect a very lovely setting and a very professional box.

Our beloved German Shepherd passed away suddenly. Cal Pet service was offered to us at the vet facility. The service was very compassionate and professional. Thank you Cal Pet.

Awful place. I was trying to understand the cremation process and the young lady rep became upset because I didn’t understand how she was explaining it to me . She than hung up on me. It’s upsetting enough to lose your pet but more so when this crematory shows such lack of empathy. Please don’t do business here. I was referred also to West coast pet memorial and At Garden's Edge, Pet Cremations so I will be calling them.

I recommend this place for all family pets that have crossed Rainbow Bridge. So compassionate..I loved how helpful Gabriel was with me when I lost my darling pet of 18 years. This was my second time using the services and I will use them again ..when unfortunately that day comes again.

Very compassionate and caring. I've had two of my cats cremated here and as sad as it is to lose a member of the family, it's comforting to know that they understand and treat you and your pet with dignity and respect. Thank you Craig and everyone else at Cal Pet.

I don’t write a lot of reviews, but I wanted to share because I had no idea what to expect. Half of me stupidly thought some lady would hand me a ziplock bag of ashes and send me on my way. I realize how silly this is, but I didn’t know.Of course, the people there were extremely kind and courteous. Dealing with complete strangers walking into your office and having to show sympathy for a story you don’t know has to be hard. But from the parking lot to the lobby to the gentlemen offering me sympathy, everything was very well done.There is no lady with a ziplock bag. It’s a lovely lobby, they bring your babe out in a cardboard box (which inside has another very sweet box which holds your can of ashes), you try to sign, they have tissue when you cry instead, eventually you sign and go on your terribly sad way.None of it is easy, but expect a very lovely setting and a very professional box.

They were kind. Patient. When i missed an appointment, i rescheduled with little fuss, even though I recognize the value of time, especially in a small business. They care. I can tell. And I could hear it in the conversations with other clients. When the day comes, I will use them again. There's nothing else to say more than that.

the people that work here are the kindest people i have ever met Graig and Brain are the best in a time of such sadness they treat you like family they opened up for me when they were leaving for the day on Dec 23rd and were so kind and caring i can't thank you enough and now i have my sweet little man bobby in his cedar box THANK YOU THANK YOU

This is always a heart breaking experience. This company was compassionate , respectful and everything was done as needed. The wait time for the cremains was a little longer than expected but I called and it was explained they were waiting for the engraving plaque.

My adorable minnie passed away at 15 years old. I had to euthanize her and it broke my heart. We got recommended to this facility by our vetenerian and they did a great job at contacting us and delivering our minnie to our home!
