I have been a loyal client of Acacia Pet Clinic for nearly 15 years. However, after the change in ownership and significant staff turnover, the quality of service has noticeably declined. Over the past two years, I've encountered numerous issues including unfulfilled promises to email prescriptions, scheduling errors, and incorrect appointment confirmations. Additionally, they no longer stock the prescribed food for my cat, and multiple attempts to connect with Chewy for orders have failed. When I requested immunization records, they were sent without the necessary dates, rendering them useless. While the veterinarians have always provided excellent care, I miss the exceptional service that Billy and Dr. Curly once offered. Today, I had an especially frustrating experience with a staff member named Vic, whose argumentative attitude made an already disappointing situation worse. Sadly, after years of loyalty, I will be taking my pets to a new clinic.

I've been to Acacia vets 4 times, always assumed my disappointment might be "me" and dont really enjoy being negative. With years passing and staff/ownership changes, I hope for a better experience. Each time, this place seems to work at being dangerously deceptive.Medical care for my service animal, is medical care for me, so it shouldn't be a hustle or shakedown. However, each time Acacia is caught being less than forthright. They even send in a "closer" who reports to a "manager" to see how much they can "wring" out of you. Very frustrating. If you want to feel like you're buying a used car when seeking medical attention for your pet, this is the place for you.

I had the pleasure of visiting Acacia with my dog Louie and I must say that the experience was nothing short of exceptional. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted warmly by the staff, who showed genuine care and compassion for our furry friends. The veterinarian we saw was not only highly knowledgeable and skilled but also displayed a deep love for animals. They took the time to thoroughly examine my pet, explain the diagnosis in detail, and discuss the treatment options available. I felt reassured and confident in their expertise every step of the way.The clinic itself was clean, well-maintained, and equipped with state-of-the-art facilities, which further added to the overall positive experience. The staff went above and beyond to make sure both my pet and I were comfortable and well taken care of throughout our visit.I left Acacia pet clinic feeling grateful for the exceptional care and attention my pet received. I highly recommend this clinic to anyone looking for a veterinarian who truly cares about the well-being of animals. Thank you to the entire team for your dedication and commitment to providing top-notch care to my loved one. Also this under new management now ! FromWhat iv read from the comments!

This doctor would not sell me prescription dog food for my pet. I was told the doctor wanted to have a relationship with my animal and be seen before selling the product to me.My dog already has a prescription from another vet in San Jose that they would not call to confirm. I was told that they are not a pharmacy.I guess this is the reason why you have an old broke down looking practice since you don’t have a business degree .Can’t recognize money once it walks through the door. Also, forgot about your doctors oath .

Really wonderful place, you can tell that everyone enjoys animals here. Both my cat and dog never leave stressed even when they get shots or nail trimmings. I appreciate how the vet comes out and speaks to us about our animals, makes me feel that my animals are safe.I would recommend this place to anyone with a fur baby

A friend of mine has always spoke highly of this clinic. I recently rescued a rabbit and was so glad to hear they see rabbits. Very helpful over the phone. A week or so later called to make an appointment for nail trim and I was able to take Panda that day. From the young woman answering the phone 8-09 a.m. to our wonderful, nice technician Bruce. Over all great experience being curbside. Also they asked if I wanted to set up a chart for Panda to have in their system. Very happy they are taking new clients. Great job to the staff!!

I brought my two newly adopted kittens to Acacia after they had been vomiting every bit of food and water that they had been consuming. The vet techs there were so knowledgeable, friendly, and reassuring that we'd figure out what is causing these problems. I dropped them off at 8:00AM and by 9:00AM, I got a call explaining what they have noticed, and what they'd propose as next actions (in this case, we opted for an injection to treat nausea, give them fluids, and prescribe antibiotics with specific food to help mitigate the side effects).Dr. Curley came out to speak to me about my kittens and what he noticed, what his concerns are, and what the prescribed food and antibiotic should do. He also let me know what it would look like if their symptoms got worse, what I would need to do, and reassured me that we'd take care of them.I'm really blown away with the level of kindness, professionalism, and compassion they showed me and my kittens - I was a mess and they helped reassure me that we're doing things right together. My kittens are doing phenomenal now, and I can only thank the staff - vet techs, receptionists, and doctors - for helping my fur friends become healthy and happy again. They also made an effort to not incur unnecessary expenses for me since their pet insurance doesn't kick in until July 2022.I really appreciate them so much for everything they've done for me and my kittens, and I cannot recommend them enough. This is a WONDERFUL vet clinic that cares about your animals - and you - more than anything. This has become my regular vet for my kittens. :)

I love this place. It is so easy to make appointments after an email reminder. I don’t have to think about my dog’s vaccination status and health. All I have to do is show up. They present it to me clearly and there is no pressure to get the surgeries recommended.

Our dog loves Acacia! Whenever we have to go for an appointment, boarding, or visit to pick up something she can't wait to say hello and go inside. We know she is in great hands and am happy we have them as our Vet.

Dr. Curly is great! He started taking care of our brother's elderly dog and diagnosed her immediately with Degenerative Myelopathy, which we had never heard of, but explained all her symptoms. We appreciated having answers and what outcome to expect. Next, my sister started bringing her senior cats to Dr. Curly. He has been her vet for several years now. I started bring my cats to Dr. Curly when they needed dental cleanings and check-ups. We have all been very happy at Acacia Pet Clinic. And the front desk staff and tech are friendly and professional.

my cat and dog both had dental cleanings during their 30%off promo. they were very well taken care of and the staff did a great job keeping me up to date and informed on what was happening with them.with the promo discount, the price was very affordable, even with the after care meds. I would definitely recommend them to anyone.

I don’t know what is going on with this vet lately but i took both my dogs here for years & within this last year literally days after taking them here, my dog died & a couple months later my second dog died both were seen here 1-2 days before they died. At first I didn’t blame them because i figured it was old age in my dogs but, i have family members that also take their furry friends here & every single one has been having issues with this vet. It breaks my heart to know my family & i brought all of our pets here thinking they’ll help them when in. reality they have been either dying or getting worst in health. I hate to be the one to write this review but if you love your pets, please do not bring them here.

Acacia Pet Clinic practices bad business and does not honor the costs of their procedures!!!I was told by SEVERAL vet techs and the Vet, Dr. Curly, leading up to the new year that I could schedule my dog for the January dental special at any time leading up to the month of January. For someone who does not make a lot of money not to mention my dog having to wait until January to have this procedure, saving up for this discounted procedure is a hardship. Today is 12/21/22 and I just called to set up his appt. And was told that they no longer are offering the dental special per New Mgtmt.I told the person on the phone that I’d known about the special for a couple of months and had been waiting to schedule my dog closer to the end of this year and that shouldn’t exclude me from the discount because I already knew about it! It was like speaking to a broken record! The tech didn’t care that I had prior knowledge about the discounted procedure, didn’t offer any remedy or options to try to make this right. Basically, I was SHT-O-LCK!Terrible way to treat your clientele. When the client has made it clear practically “everyone” including the Vet has informed them of this discounted procedure and then it’s no longer offered because of New Mgtmt. That’s not my problem. And how would I know that having new Mgtmt. would affect the procedure I needed for my dog?Do not spend your hard-earned money on at this clinic. They don’t care about your animal or false advertising. They only care about your wallet!

I have been going here for at least 10 years plus with my little chihuahua named Timmy unfortunately Timmy passed away from old age apparently this Clinic has a policy right now free office visit for new dogs but I guess it included new clients which they refuse to see me because I was already a client that could have been a great client for my new Chihuahua about the old saying their loss I'll go somewhere else

Acacia Pet Clinic is awesome! Since we are still in pandemic mode Acacia has you call when you get to the building, they come out to your car, get your pet, ask you If you have any concerns, take the animal inside and bring the animal back. When they bring the animal back the Vet comes out too and spends some time chatting with you. Everyone is masked and social distanced but still super friendly and make you feel like family!!
Sam
The receptionists/vet assistants seem to have better things to do than their jobs. They don't call back when they say they will. They don't understand simple instructions. They are not friendly or helpful. Dr. Curley didn't listen to a word I was trying to say, or look at any paperwork I gave him.I came in October 8, 2018 to get three health certificates for three separate animals for our move to Hawaii on the 16th. I brought every piece of helpful information to make filling out the certificates easy on the staff. Not only did they rush the certificates and fill them out incorrectly, but they didn't even go over the certificates with me to ensure they were correct.I had to go in three different days to get the health certificates right. If they had actually cared to look at the paperwork I left them with, I could have had those health certificates the first day. It's extremely frustrating to feel like I wasn't being listened to. A move to Hawaii is stressful enough and for the Vet that you are supposed to be able to trust to do things right end up causing even more unnecessary frustration just because they couldn't take five minutes to listen or look at the paperwork you bring in for them is off-putting and I did not deserve that type of treatment.

If I could give 0 starts I would.I’ve gone here for a while. Before this is was honestly great customer service. I was recommended there by a long time client. I took my dog in after she had seizures to get it diagnosed. I paid nearly 600 dollars for a bunch of tests. I waited a week no call back. I call back and I was told “if we don’t call you back just give US a call” that’s not how customer service works. I had a feeling they wouldn’t call back and they didn’t. At this point its been 3 weeks-month. I have a sick relative and leave the country for 2 months. Come back to no test results and tried getting money back through my bank but they denied me. I spoke with a manager at acacia and she was very polite and helpful. She got me a refund minus the visitation fee (which is ok because it’s the one service I actually got). I just was not happy with the communication barrier between them and their receptionist. DO YOUR JOB THATS WHAT THEYRE PAYING YOU FOR CALLING A CUSTOMER BACK ISNT HARD.

We had to wait outside since the lobby is still closed, and after 15 minutes of waiting in 90 degree heat we had to give up. My choice was to make my dog stand on hot concrete or in my hot car. We were on time and saw several people inside behind the desk, I don't understand

Having been taking my pets here for well over 25 years. They always provide wonderful care at a competitive price. I've seen both doctors for my pets but Dr. Curley is the one that did my most recent pet surgery. My daughter has a German Shepard Dog that has severe hip dysplasia. A year ago, Dr. Curley fixed his left hip and this year he did the other side. Everything went well again and the dog is up and running around, getting into trouble as usual.

Great vet service at Acacia, called on Wednesday had an appt by Thursday. Curbside service, attention to detail and the doc came out in the rain to answer any questions and to explain that my boo boo dog is doing great, gave advise on products to prevent ticks/fleas... best of all.. I had concerns about my dog itching and he didn't try and push any drugs at me, told me unless it was causing visual bald spots or skin irritation to continue with the products I've been using ie.. benadryl, topical itch relief.

MY DOG HAS DIED AFTER ACACIA VISIT.My family had an 80 pound beautiful, healthy, young Bluetick Coonhound that was still with us only 48 hours ago. She passed at 5.5 years of age. Her name was Paisley. On May 15th, I had taken Paisley into Acacia pet clinic because she had stopped eating, barely would drink water, would lay flat on the ground still or not move a muscle for extended periods of time, and had visual swelling on her left side lower abdomen (approximately the stomach region). Our initial guess was bloat or some other stomach problem. We immediately brought her in for a full physical evaluation and expected the doctor (Shazia) to know what to do. The clinic performed a blood panel as well as an X-ray to determine if there was noticeable bloat. Neither test showed definite signs of problems, yet there was obviously something seriously wrong with Paisley. I was reassured by the doctor that a bacterial infection could have taken place, and that antibiotics would be a good solution for Paisley. We were given up to two weeks of antibiotics, and for the next weeks, we kept her on this regimen and monitored her as full recovery was explained to take possibly 3 weeks or more. Within the first week, Paisley became more active than before (considering she was almost bed-ridden prior), so we believed that things were getting better. Paisley never fully recovered, and just before we were to take her back in, she suddenly passed away the morning of June 18, 2017.Necropsy found an approximately 8-9" long barbeque skewer in her stomach that had punctured her organs, causing internal hemorrhaging, which she finally succumbed to. To all the dog lovers reading this, I find peace in knowing that she passed away in the comfort of her favorite spot on the couch, just after giving her last goodbyes. If I had even the slightest clue that her condition had come what it had, I can assure you she would have gone to the closest emergency clinic and receive all the care possible to comfort and heal her. However, having been told that that she was recovering from a bacterial infection (possible spleen/other organ swelling due to recovery) we did not believe she had swallowed such an object as a hard wooden skewer. Something like this should have come up on imaging, right? My wish is that no other pet or pet owner suffers a terrible loss as this one, especially for something that was so avoidable and fixable. The second vet I took Paisley to for necropsy asked if the skewer showed up on the ultrasound. But an ultrasound was never done. Why wasn't an ultrasound done? Dogs eat things, strange things, all the time. Why wasn't this included as a default detection method for Acacia? We rely on our vets, we TRUST our vets to do the things that we as dog owners may not know will help find the solution. Moreover, we reviewed the x-ray that was taken and found that it was impossibly blurry (why wasn't the x-ray taken over?) such that one could barely even make out the stomach or other organs which are typically visible to some degree. Multiple ghost images of the spine suggest that the x-ray was taken while there was motion, so of course the rest of the image was blurry. You will be charged almost $300 for an x-ray that they don't even quality check. They should have taken it again! You don't have to read too far into the comments to make a good assessment on the quality of Acacia pet clinic. If you want to get your pet's vaccines taken care of, then Acacia is probably sufferable. However, if your pet has a serious problem, DO NOT TAKE HIM/HER TO ACACIA PET CLINIC.My future pet and all the pets of all my friends, family, and acquaintances will NOT EVER be going to Acacia pet clinic as they will take your money and ask what YOU want to do with your pet as opposed to telling you what needs to be done.THAT is a risk I hope no other pet owner gambles with, ever.

Unfortunately we're not their clients (too far). We adopted a new puppy which was serviced at their clinic and they were kind enough to send us it's records via email in a matter of minutes. Very professional and pleasure to deal with. Thank You!Positive Responsiveness, Professionalism …More

Please question the options given to you at this clinic. I was quoted $3900 for a sub standard ACL surgery for my +100 lb dog. After calling many different places and researching on the net, I realized the best option was a TPLO surgery. I found a vet that did a tplo operation for $3500. Everything we read said that any dog over 40lbs should not have a (nylon) type surgery, a.k.a. fishing string! This place has nickel and dimed us for a while, but this was the end for us.
Sarah Viaggi
You can tell everyone loves pets. They were good about not keeping us waiting. They listened. The reports were clear and understandable. Great service.
Pat Law
Disappointed they are not open on Saturdays like they used to be. I feel everytime I go in this place it's going to around $500
Robert Bosworth
Been going here for about 20 years (cats, dog, Guinea pigs). Always good service. They really care about their patients.
Connie Root
The doctors and staff are super friendly, there, very caring and compassionate would not take my dog anywhere else.

It's a great place to get shots and check up to the staff helps me out with pretty much anything I need

Was not advised when I scheduled appt it was curbside service only but it went smooth as usual anyways. Newer staff and Dr Curley are the best !

Really great employees. Very polite and informative. Love tat appointments are always available too

I took my cats there for nail trims, and the front desk staff and technicians were so welcoming and helpful that I decided to use their veterinary services also. Dr Curley was gentle with the cats and took plenty of time to explain everything and answer all my questions. I highly recommend them.
Dan Greenblatt
Dr Curley is the best. We take our three guinea pigs to him. He and his staff go above and beyond to accomodate us and give us peace of mind. I can't even count how many times Acacia has come through for us at the last minute to help us in any way we need. I could not recommend them strongly enough.Positive Responsiveness, Reliability, Quality, Professionalism, Value …More

They do a great job with either our cats or dog. The vet techs are always helpful and communicative as well as the vets themselves. Always feel very confident and safe bringing our loved ones here

Brandon Nicoletta
Fantastic staff and veterinarians. I have been going here for several years, and they have taken great care of my older shitzu and my new puppy.

Phillip Freeman
This place ,in my eyes, is the best place I've ever had to take one of my pets ( that is still open).Thank you people for taking such good care of our Ms Molly.

I came here during business hour to visit my pet and bring him food. But they are closed. No notice, no sign, nothing. How can you just decide to close the place and leave??? It's so unprofessional.
Francie Schildhauer
Acacia Pet Clinic is always top notch in their treatment and care of my fur babies. I wouldn't go anywhere else.

Jane Miha
It's only fair to mention the reviews are for Dr. Curly if over a year old as he was the sole owner for 60 years. He has retired and it is now Dr. Steal.
