What a beautiful experience it was scattering my uncle’s ashes at sea. My family had never experienced an ash scattering. This was so much more meaningful than a burial. Every detail in every moment was something that was thoughtful crafted by the Captain Tony and his team. Captain Tony and his team helped with every aspect to make it a respectful and memorable day for our family. The boat was beautifully outfitted and very comfortable, even better than expected. Smooth sailing all the way! Thank you for helping us honor our uncle in this special way.

Archer Harmon, Funeral Director at Hemet Valley Mortuary referred me to Beyond the Seas Memorial Services in Long Beach, California for my husband, Kenneth W. Klein and Dad to our daughter, Katrina. Ken passed away on January 13, 2024 but we waited until June to have the memorial for better weather out in the ocean. From the time I made the arrangements with Captain Tony Miller until the day of the memorial I can honestly say how happy I was that the entire process went smoothly.On Saturday, June 29, 2024 we met our crew Captain George and Jim on Dock 1 at Pier Point Landing. We were welcomed on to the boat called “Something Special.” The boat was beautiful and spacious enough to have seats for all of us and even walk around a bit. Jim went over the steps of going out further into to ocean including our safety. Capt George and Jim were a truly friendly, kind and compassionate with all of us on board.Katrina was able to help Capt.George with the scattering of Ken’s ashes. After this we circled around the area on the water where we could say our thoughts and prayers to our dearest Ken. It was a comfort knowing we fulfilled Ken’s wishes at that very moment. It was a beautiful and memorable day for all of us.Thank you, Capt. Tony, Capt. George and Jim we appreciate your dedication to giving comfort and peace to families like ours that have lost our loved ones.

Additionally, his mention of his own experience led me to also make arrangements for military funeral honors for my father which I would not have thought of on my own. I just wanted to say what a wonderful experience Beyond the Sea Memorial Services provided for my sister in law's celebration of life.We arrived on time and were greeted by the Captain Tony Miller and Jim to a really amazing watercraft.They took care of everything and showed us into the cabin and deck of the "Something Special".It was beautifully appointed and they had water and cookies waiting for us. Our friends were really blown away at how spectacular the boat was. It couldn't have been more comfortable for us and our guests.After we departed, Captain Tony brought my sister in law's ashes, mixed with rose petals to the back of the boat where we were all reminiscing about her.It was like she was there with us.He explained that they would lower the ashes into the sea with an elegant crane they had at the back of the boat. We would observe the ashes sink, and the rose petals would float. Then they would circle that spot so we could pay our respects.It was a beautiful day and Beyond the Sea Memorial Services did not disappoint. Every detail was taken care of and for us and our guests created a beautiful celebration of life for my sister in law.So many of our friends were blown away by how beautiful and thoughtful the whole experience was.DO NOT HESITATE to use Beyond the Sea Memorial Services if this is how you want to pay tribute to your loved one who has passed. It was the perfect experience.

Jim and George were very welcoming, compassionate and sympathetic to our needs. They made us feel comfortable and explained the process. The boat was very stable and a smooth ride. They encouraged us to have a moment with our loved one's ashes before the ceremony. We had a wonderful experience for my Dad's burial at sea. Spoke with Captain Tony beforehand. This was my first time looking for a service like this and he explained the process so I knew what to expect and answered all my questions. Instructions for the day were provided and detailed and easy to follow.Day of, we had Captain George and Jim, for the voyage. They were very nice and professional, provided us water, cookies, and coffee for the trip. The boat, Something Special, was very very nice. It provided a cozy and comfortable area for us, a party of 6, to wait along with my Dad's ashes as we made our way out to sea.When we got to the destination, Captain George gave us plenty of time for me and my family to pay our last respects for my Dad. When that was done my Dads ashes were carefully lifted over the Stern, rear, of the boat and slowly released into the sea. The crew prepared my Dad's ashes into a clear container with beautiful rose petals and as my Dad's ashes slowly sank and drifted with the sea, the petals floated providing a simple but beautiful moment.Very pleased with the service and would definitely recommend them.

The Entire experience was professional and intimate. I have never attended a service like this before, it was beautiful. My father in law loved being on the water and it was peacefully perfect to lay him to rest in this way. Thank you to the crew for accommodating us with a few unexpected changes, it meant alot! Beyond the Sea Memorial Service gave such a great memorial service to my dad and made it such a peaceful and uplifting experience for all who attended. We cannot praise Captain Tony and the crew enough for how grateful my Mom and I are for the exceptional service provided while on the boat, as well as the empathy from the crew during this difficult time.The boat was taken out to the site where the burial at the sea would be conducted. It was a very memorable experience for my Mom as she was the one that was able to assist in lowering the ashes (with a mixture of petals) and conduct the final release of the ashes into the sea. Once the ashes were immersed into the sea and the rose petals floated to the surface, the boat then circled the spot and everyone was able to say their final goodbyes. It was such a lovely ending and provided a beautiful, fitting sendoff to my Dad. Afterwards, Captain Tony took us on a tour of Alamitos Bay Marina, where my Dad had once docked his boat. It was such a beautiful ending to the day.The memorial really brought such a special memory to all who attended, and my Mom and I will be forever grateful to the crew. It was the closure that we so desperately needed after my Dad's death. We both know without a doubt that the service would have been exactly what my Dad would have wanted. I would highly recommend Beyond the Sea Memorial Services. The captain and the crew were beyond helpful to all that were aboard and made this experience a very memorable one. I cannot recommend them enough for giving my Dad such a beautiful sendoff. I would recommend their service to anyone wanting a perfect farewell to a loved one. Thank you.

Beyond the Sea Memorial Services was absolutely amazing! Tony and Jim were wonderful and was very thoughtful with coffee and cookies. Everything was perfect and intimate, saying our last goodbyes to our beloved. It was beautiful the way the flower petals spread out on the ocean as we watched and remembering our loved one. The boat was nice and roomy for a party of 11. Direction and boat was very easy find. Again absolutely beautiful service they provide!

We attended a burial at sea today. Our host planned a very nice event. The staff of the yacht we were on were very warm and respectful. They did a very nice job taking us out and letting the family have time to grieve and say good bye. It was a very nice memorial.

To make a long story short, I was P.O.A (Power of Attorney) for one of my moms Friends. She had no known family and my mom is very EERIE of ashes being in the house. One thing my we did know is that my moms friend loved was the water. We were recommended by the Best Cremation Care crematorium and it was by far the best recommendation. Beyond the Sea Memorial Services was the absolutely the best experience ever. I didn't know what to expect due to me never having an at see memorial service. But It was by far a BEAUTIFUL experience. The commination with Caption Tony awesome, the boat is beautiful , The staff Jim and Caption John was the best. Thank you for everything and I will definitely send recommendations your way.

I purchased a $300+ urn for my father's ashes. It was made of rock salt and was very beautiful, designed to disintegrate upon contact with the sea. Capt. Tony explained that while it was up to me, he had an alternative where we could disperse his ashes with roses. The urn, he explained, would just fall like a rock, whereas I could disperse his ashes with roses and watch his ashes diffuse and float away. It was a much better choice both aesthetically and spiritually; it allowed for a moment of contemplation. We also dropped the urn into the ocean, and he did not charge me an additional fee. Overall, it was an excellent experience and his sagacious advice improved the service. Thank you Capt. Tony!
