My family has been using Sea Breeze Pet Cemetery since the 80s. Unfortunately, the family sold it to West Coast Pet Memorial Services. A few years ago, I paid $161 for a small cat to be cremated. I called this week and got a quote (for a 4-pound cat) of $293 PLUS $150 to pick her body up because they're located in East L.A. I'm in Orange County and Sea Breeze is in Orange County. Why would I pay more to have my pet shipped who-knows-where to be cremated? Well, you just lost my business.Plus, the grounds at Sea Breeze have REALLY gone downhill. The grass is brown and unkempt. The office itself is never open anymore. I tried to inquire about purchasing a headstone for our pets that have already been buried there and got no response. I guess "I snooze, I lose..."I'm definitely going elsewhere for my pet cremations.

Formerly Sea Breeze Pet Cemetery although still the same great people who work here that have compassion and kindness. We have a couple of family pets resting here. I love the calm and serene space this cemetery is in nestled in the city. They have an amazing selection of urns here as well. Originally when I buried my cat here the section in the back several rows was the “cats only” area. I choose that area for my cat to lay to rest for obvious reasons that he was fearful of dogs. Recently I have come to see under new management they are allowing small dogs in the “cats only” area of the cemetery. I understand the cemetery is getting full and that is why but my heart sank and it was truly very disappointing to see that happen.

Our family dog, Mary, passed away in 2002 and she rests here. Our vet at the time recommended us to bring Mary here because this is the only pet cemetery in Southern California and Mary loved a nice breezy day outside. We miss her and visit her often at Sea Breeze with our second dog. The staff are always very kind and accommodating, helping us assemble flowers and a holiday flag for Mary. Today, we visited Mary and we were happy to see that the grounds were well-maintained and clean. However, there were visible signs of wear and tear, especially at the front gate with a washed away sign. We found out that Sea Breeze is no longer performing cremations because the owners are looking to sell this property and find new management. We are heartbroken and horrified to hear about this news. The thought of coming to visit Mary one day and finding a new hotel or new building that replaced her remains is just devastating. It was revealed to us that the hospital next door, Hoag, has been eyeing this land for years, bullying the owners, restricting their right to perform cremations, and doing anything in their power to expand their corporate mission. We were never notified by the current owners, because they still keep paper records on a small index card. Please update your index cards and create an electronic record! I’m sure if the Sea Breeze community found out, there would be an unresolved uproar and a multi-billion dollar lawsuit. Unfortunately, Sea Breeze has paused cremations for now but for current pet owners who want to visit their loved ones, the staff is present. We know people love their animals and our pets are our family. I hope Sea Breeze can find a way to move forward and perform cremations again. My understanding is there are 18 members of the family who have ownership of the land. This will require the current owners to step up and do the right thing by taking the time to invest in our pet community.

Beautiful place to lay a pet to rest. It was very neat to read some of the pets head stones and walk through this well kept property!
