Great view of the bay area and golden gate bridge. Famous Chinese scholar Tsi-an Hsia（夏濟安, 1916-1965）was buried here in the northernmost zone named Acacia. If you want to find his grave, drive to the top of the Acacia zone, face the sea and look for the leftmost tree of the lawn in front of you. His grave is four or five rows directly under that tree. I drive across the country from New England to pay tribute to him, whose writing used to give me so much inspiration.

Beautiful. Wish I could be there living or no longer living, clean, wonderful view, incredible chapel. Grounds are comparable, what we would all love as a resting place for our loved ones and ourselves.

Beautiful place. Peaceful, gorgeous, but an air of liveliness that many cemeteries lack. People come here on walks, bike rides, picnics, etc. they take great care of this cemetery.

I came along with my father-in-law to sign the paperwork for his final arrangements. I expecting are hard sell, but the staff pushed him towards cheaper options that were best aligned with his wishes.Thanks Darren, really appreciate your willingness make sure my father-in-law understood that the more expensive options were not what he actually wanted.

My husband, Windell passed away unexpectedly. My family & I had no clue how to handle the arrangements for him. Our son looked up several places and decided on Sunset View because of the rating. Covid protocol is in place at all times...masks are required. Only 50 guests were allowed for services.We arrived for our appointment and were greeted. We met Tom. He was very thorough in explaining everything and gave us options with a binder containing everything we discussed, including prices.Tom, Steve and the staff were very sympathetic and kind which we really appreciated. Stress during this time was heightened. Tom never rushed us to make a decision without discussing it and asking questions.If you have lost a loved one & need a mortuary, Sunset View Cemetery & Mortuary is highly recommended by our family.Sandra B & Family

I was very satisfied. I had my mom's funeral here and it was the best choice I could have made. They are for one almost one of the only facilities you can do just the service w/o being pressured for them to care for the body which was very important in my case. I got helped by two great directors Tonya and Tim I believe. They were weary straight forward and didn't do a lot of up selling me which I appreciated the most. The location is beautiful, very modern decor and the waterfall in the main entrance is gorgeous. They were very helpful with my set up and allowed me to make my payment the day before the service with no deposit necessary. I would definitely recommend and use the location again if I had to.

They took incredibly good care of my family when we planned and celebrated my brother’s life. Compassionate, thoughtful, selfless individuals. Steve, Bruce, and Celine were all fantastic to work with. I would highly highly recommend them.

My mom's grandma n grandpa are here. My mom's baby brother, who died at 6 months old is buried here.The first time I was here was in 1998, when we buried my mother here. She is up on a hill, under a big tree, with a beautiful view of the Bay & San Francisco. I love going and sitting at her burial sight. Now we have my mother's mom & dad, & my mom's sister all within 3 plots of each other up there too. Such a beautiful cemetary & the owners are so nice.

The management at this cemetery is a complete joke. I came here back in June to the office and was told they are still requiring people to wear masks inside even though the county ended the indoor mask mandate back in February. Get it together Sunset View. There's absolutely no reason to require them anymore and you guys are only making people mad about having this policy.

I went here for a memorial service and the staff was extremely attentive to everyone's needs. They were very helpful to the family. The the building and grounds are very well kept. And there's a beautiful view on the hill. Highly recommended.

Mothers Day today. I went to visit Mom who is next to Dad.They have road blocked. Only walking access to my parents!It is over a .25 mile walk up a hill.Their excuse is something about COVID-19. I do not buy it.Driving there privately in my car is a lot safer than walking by other walkers.I was so upset that I left my mask in the parked car. I realized it after about a block. However, it is not reasonable to wear it there. I am not going to huff & puff (pant) through a mask as I walk up a hill. I could have driven near to the site & then put it on but no way would I walk 1/3 of a mile up a hill with my air intake blocked.How about there very elderly? How about the disabled?

I don’t have loved ones here, but I love to walk around the cemetery. It is very serene and pleasant, and although the services have hours, you can come into the cemetery any time.

Three of my beloved family members were serviced by Sunset Mortuary in El Cerrito I think it is becoming a family tradition. I am planning on using them to pre-arrange my final wishes because Idon't want my family to have thatstress on them upon my demise.stress on them upon my demise.I trust Sunset to make that happen.
