My cat passed away on June 2. Can't stand the idea of anything except burial for him. I chose Pet's Rest because it's close and I can visit his grave. He was buried on June 5.

Thank you so much for helping my family through a difficult time, our little boy "Toby" dog took the place of our kids when they grew up and left the nest, he was an angel sent to us bringing so much love and joy, Thanks to Julio! for letting us use the chapel and taking care of our Toby, and for the very nice lady at the counter for making his paw prints, we love the beautiful hand carved box.

They were so kind to me and patient while I cried during the arrangement making. Were very fair with pricing and when I got my heart dog back he was in a beautiful, intricately carved box with his information on a personalized sticker. They made this whole awful situation just a little bit easier and I'm forever grateful to them for their tact, kindness, and patience with me and the dignity and love they showed my best friend's remains.

Lost my Angel on 01/18/2021. Her burial was Saturday. Carlos did an excellent job. He was helpful and sympathetic. She was in her jacket and wrapped in her blanket and looked so peaceful. Carlos gets 5 stars! However. The office part of this service was very cold and rushed. I had to ask questions when we first went on Monday. I stated I wanted her picture on her monument and was told how much this costs. I was fine with that. I wasn’t asked about the monument or what I wanted it to say. I had to ask these questions. When we asked about payment, I was told to pay on the day of the burial. So Saturday arrives and the price of the picture was not on the bill. The woman at the desk couldn’t answer any of my questions. I feel this process was not professional. We are grieving and burials should be peaceful for the pet owners. Payments should be made before the day of the burial so every thing is in order. I also feel appointments should be made so that we have time to discuss the process. I don’t particularly think I should have to see people walking in with there dog in a plastic see through bag. Improvements are needed.09/20/2024Buried our little man Leroy, with Angel today.Everyone was very helpful. My work schedule changed and they helped my husband out, since I was late. Thank you so much for your understanding during this stressful and emotional time.

Came to Pet's Rest after we lost a hamster. They offered affordable individual cremation and were wonderfully sweet throughout the process. They helped make a sad time a little bit easier, I can't thank them enough.

I have been a vet tech for 23 years and worked with many pet cemetery and cremation services. All have had compassion, but Pet's Rest stands out. Carlos, Javier, and Theresa have helped me beyond compare during my personal times of needing cremation services. I'd like to extend personal gratitude to Carlos. Twice now he has gone above and beyond. First with my 16yr old dog Loki 2 years ago. And recently with my Granny Chi. You saw me sitting alone in the cemetery and checked in with me and I am forever grateful. You helped me and Granny Chi and I can't thank you enough.

If you need their service, you're probably already in deep grief and mourning. They couldn't have been kinder. Because of their busy schedule, they were unable to pick up my dog. So I drove down to their office in Colma. I was assisted with getting my dog out of my car. Treated so wonderfully.

I was relieved and delighted when we got to Pet's Rest. The cost was very reasonable, with more consideration than we could find calling around for days. They even include a beautifully carved wooden box instead of a standard cardboard tube like most places. The employees were very kind, thoughtful, gentle and warm. In fact, the entire grounds felt warm and personal. The best part was taking a moment to walk the tombstones, some there since the 40s. I'm very grateful we found them, we felt good about leaving our sweet dog's body there and I would recommend them to everyone.

We've been coming to Pet's Rest for years and they've always been kind and sympathetic. Carlos is great! We always do private whitmessed cremations and he's always sensitive to our feelings. They've made the experience as positive as possible and I've loved that they allow us to see our babies through to the end - it feels so much more right for me to bring in our pet's body, be there when s/he is put into the oven, and be there when s/he's taken out and put into one of the lovely wooden boxes there and leave with the ashes same day, no worry about mixups, no waiting for them to be returned and worrying about them getting lost in the mail. Now that we're moving and will be too far away to use them, I'm worried I won't be able to find another place as wonderful and that makes the process feel so right to help us bid our babies fairwell when we run out of time with them :(

I chose this particular memorial service for my son because of its proximity to my residence. On January 28, 2021, my son and I were crossing the street. He walked behind me, not in front. We had the right of way when, unexpectedly, a driver made a right turn and struck my son. In that moment, my heart shattered, and I was in shock. The driver never stopped and continued driving. I immediately picked him up; he was trembling, shaking, and bleeding. I rushed him to the SPCA, but sadly, he didn't survive. The SPCA recommended another memorial service, but I opted for this one. The previous reviews of this memorial service didn't deter me.The driver, Javier, who collected my son from the SPCA, showed remarkable kindness. Carlos displayed the same level of compassion. Carlos wasn't in a rush; he allowed us the time to be with my son. My family, my partner, and I were present for the cremation. Carlos explained the process meticulously and handled my son with the utmost respect.I extend my heartfelt gratitude to both of them for their outstanding work. They truly comprehend the depth of our grief as dog parents when losing someone so special and close to us.The lady at the front desk, whom I believe is named Teresa, does deserve mention. The recent review highlighting feeling rushed is accurate, but I don't think she did it intentionally. To me, she understood my loss and expressed genuine sympathy. In sum, I unequivocally give this place a 5-star rating. To anyone reading my review, please don't be swayed solely by others' opinions. Give this place a chance, and follow your heart's guidance. I wanted my son to be with my loved ones who have already passed away rather than remaining in a freezer. He was cremated the very next day before being picked up.

I'm so glad these people are here. In the past three years I've lost two of my older, beloved cats, and Pets Rest helped me through it. I cremated both of them. I really valued their witnessed cremation option where you can help put them into the oven, and know that what you are getting back is your pet and only your pet. The people themselves were very kind, and the place is peaceful. Thank you, I'll continue to use them as long as I live in the area.

We were heartbroken when our pet suffered a massive seizure and died overnight at home. It was a great comfort to us that our vet directed us to Pet's Rest. Their sympathetic driver arrived before 10 am to take her for cremation. We picked up her ashes two days later. Pet's Rest is a pleasant, well-run service for pet owners.

This place is great they made this extremely hard moment for me and my daughter. Much less difficult price is reasonable but most of all the very fast turn around and their very peaceful and comforting chapel , for my daughter it made things more comforting i was really suffering to see my daughter in pain after loosing her kitty friend for 14 years thank you to my Mexican friends at pet rest they are # 1 they also made paw prints for my daughter. Unfortunately I had to put my cat down due to her being sick (cancer) and I chose pets rest to do the service. This is an amazing team of people , when we went to drop off babyy I was greeted by the receptionist along with the person who runs the crematory . I was helped right away and was allowed to be there to say my last goodbyes. Carlos was super helpful and walked me thru the process,he even got my girls ashes to me a few hours later. I cannot thank the team enough for helping me during such a sad time and getting my babyy back home to me the same day.

It's hard to believe it was over 4 years ago the last time that I was here...They took excellent care of me my daughter and most of all, my kitty cat, Jumping Jack Flash.

We did not have a pet resting here, but came a during a cemetery tour of the area. What started as a lark quickily became something more cathartic as we reflected on our own pets future and how we would remember him. Seeing how serious people were about creatures they considered family and how grief stricken they were from genuine loss was astounding on both good and bad ways.
Elizabeth Frantes
Wonderful staff, very considerate and thoughtful. I've used them for two pets and one is going to cross the Rainbow Bridge very soon. I hope that their ashes will be combined with mine and scattered together.

I normally use Forever My Pet which has been a godsend. However, due to their closure I was referred to Pets Rest. I do not know why I had high expectations because the minimum was not even met. My horse crossed over 12/10/2020. I called over the weekend and everyday after, no response. Today I call and The woman tells me she left a message; no voicemails or calls from them reflect on my call history as I pay monthly for these call logs records. She also keeps calling my deceased horse a HE when it’s clear in the paperwork my girl was a SHE.I drove all the way down and they weren’t there. I called at 250 that I was close and the Answering service picked up. There were cars upfront. I called again and received static from the CSR.Please note I am filing a formal complaint at state level. This is not a threat but a promise. You guys were quick to take my money but not to call to notify. I have had to make the attempt daily to see if I can get ahold of someone. You guys continue to push the delivery option which is not going to happen. In my culture it’s disrespectful and frowned upon to send loved ones ashes mail and this has been explain multiple times . I have said multiple times this is not an option and even if it wasn’t a cultural taboo— you guys are not getting another dime out of me.I am appalled and baffled. I want my horses ashes . It’s not like the service was a charity case. I paid for the service.

Very disappointed the only communication from them was to confirm the pets name spelling and that both pets were to be cremated together.January 4 was the departure day January 7 was the day they were cremated. No communication whatsoever until I called this morning to see if they were ready.VERY DISRESPECTFUL to their customers to not communicate that their pets ashes were ready to be picked up- FOR OVER A MONTH AND A HALF!This is the second example in the past few months I am aware of- a friend had a similar experience.

3/20/19NEVER LEAVE YOUR DECEASED PET WITH ANY VET OR PET HOSPITAL. ALWAYS TAKE YOUR DECEASED PET WITH YOU.YOU CAN HAVE YOUR BELOVED PET(S) CREMATED ATPET'S REST CEMETERY IN COLMA, CALIFORNIA. A VIEWED CREMATION OR NOT. YOU CAN WAIT IN THE LOBBY, SIT IN CHAPEL OR REST IN YOUR CAR. IT TAKES ABOUT AN HOUR, DEPENDING ON THE SIZE/WEIGHT OF YOUR PET. THEY CAN ACCOMMODATE ANY PET OR ANIMAL.IT'S VERY COMFORTING, PEACEFUL AND TERESA IS VERY KIND.WHAT YOU DO WITH YOUR PET'S ASHES IS UP TO YOU.PUT THE NICE BOX ON YOUR BOOKSHELF OR FIREPLACE, SPRINKLE THE ASHES IN YOUR YARD WHERE YOUR PET HUNG OUT, YOUR PET'S FAVORITE PARK/BEACH. JUST KNOW THAT THESE PLACES MIGHT BE GONE SOMEDAY, SO IT'S BEST TO KEEP THE BOX CONTAINING YOUR PET'S ASHES AT YOUR HOME WITH YOU.ANOTHER SUGGESTION IS TO LEAVE SPECIFIC INSTRUCTIONS WITH A FAMILY MEMBER, LOVED ONE OR FRIEND....THAT WHEN YOU DIE (IF YOU CHOOSE TO BE CREMATED) THAT YOU WANT YOUR PET'S ASHES CONTAINED WITH YOURS, SO WHATEVER YOU'VE CHOSEN FOR YOUR ASHES, YOUR PET'S ASHES WILL BE WITH YOU FOREVER.COMFORTING TO KNOW.

I am very indignant, with the administration of Pet's Rest cemetery, we visited this place to request the cremation of our dog, who died on Saturday 8/5, in the emergency, we agreed that they would pick up our dog on Monday and keep him until On Wednesday 8/9, the day at 3:pm, the family attended the cremation of our dog Muñeco, we wanted to say goodbye and attend the cremation, Tuesday 8/8 We were notified that due to a communication error, our Doll was cremated this morning,!!!!!!How can that be possible? Is this a serious place? Does this staff have respect for the feelings of the bereaved?
