I love Paul and Carved In Stone so much. He made everything so easy, from getting to browse all the possible sizes and types of stone to colors to pictures online, through the ordering process. It was way faster than I'd anticipated, and the final work is stunning. The carving is deep enough that it will not erode in weather, and it's classic, clean, and also conveys what we want it to. Paul himself is a joy to interact with; gracious, respecful, and also casual and approachable. I don't yearn to have to make tons of stones over the next few years, but those I need with difinitely be with him. If I could do six stars, I would.

While my work with Paul at Carved in Stone began with the design and ordering of a bronze plaque to be attached to the face of a slant headstone to be found, he then assisted me in finding a source company for the slant headstone (of a custom size and of North American and not Chinese granite.) With these ordered, Paul introduced me to a fellow (David) who does colored concrete slabs (amongst other work) and with whom I worked to get a colored concrete pad in place to receive the headstone. With the headstone delivered and in place, Paul then came to the cemetery to install the bronze plaque. The photos below show the cemetery plot marked for the pad, the completed concrete pad, the headstone in place on the pad, and finally the bronze plaque placed on the headstone (with the engraved lettering covered to protect the innocent !)Paul was excellent to work with (via phone, text and email ... and in person !) He was very competitive in pricing and persistent and conscientious in getting the job done well. To be highly recommended !

I worked with the owner, Paul Smith on a headstone for my mother. I live on the other side of the country so I worked with Paul long distance by phone and digital comms. So I never met in person with Paul but he was always accommodating and I could tell he is an honest person who wants the best outcome for his customers. Recently, I was faced with the difficult task of acquiring a headstone for my son. Paul at Carved In Stone was extremely helpful in choosing a size, shape and design. He gave great advice regarding layout, fonts, colors, etc. Most importantly, he was kind and compassionate knowing this was an emotionally difficult task and often called just to ask how I was doing. Once the final artwork was approved, the stone was finished in a timely manner. The setting of the headstone was done very carefully and the finished product is absolutely beautiful. Start to finish on a project, they make sure you're kept informed on design, progress and delivery, and are quick to respond to any questions. I have no idea why my daughter's name is coming up!!There are not enough positive words I can say about Paul, he is the BEST! I had an unusual headstone to be made, it was for my family of three which is in a cremation plot. Not a lot of room for what my thoughts and prayers were hoping for, but Paul made it totally possible and absolutely beautiful. The headstone has 3 names with a heart individually around each one of them and then different ideas/images as to what I wanted below each one of them. I live in TN so had to call and spoke with Paul on numerous occasions and every single time he was so polite, professional and sensitive to my every word as it was so emotionally hard for me to deal with.Paul-Carved in Stone Monument you are the BEST and I thank you for ALL you did for me. Carved in Stone AZ Monument not only exceeded our expectations in terms of the product they provided us but Paul went above and beyond with his sincere customer service and attention to detail. He spent time getting to know our family and truly made this a comfortable and welcoming experience. The piece we ordered was for my beloved step-father who was the most hard-working, selfless and stubborn man I have ever known. I would highly recommend Carved in Stone for memorials and monuments. I went to Carved in Stone to create a memorial for my pet. Paul is easy to work with and does excellent work. The stone was carved to a clean and uniform depth, and the script was perfectly centered and properly proportioned to the size of the stone. Also, the price was fair and the work was completed in a timely manner.

Paul with Carved In Stone of Arizona Monument was absolutely amazing. I live in California, and after our June graveside service, the cemetery advised that I wouldn’t be able to get an appointment with the marker department until the end of August. Then once the marker was selected, it would be a minimum of 20 weeks before delivery. Fortuitously, my cousin had just shared the marker Carved In Stone had created for my aunt, which was really nice, and she expressed how easy it was to work with them. I called on July 8th and spoke with Paul to inquire about the possibility of producing the stone with them and personally transporting it to the California cemetery. He advised to send him my thinking (size, granite color, inscription, etc.) and things could be determined from there. I shared I would have something to him by Monday, the 11th. Due to my error, my email didn’t get to him as expected; however, HE called me to ensure he’d given me correct information. I corrected my error and had the email to him around 2pm. Just after 4 pm that same day, he sent me a draft of the marker and a price quote. His draft was perfect, so I approved things to move forward. One week later, Monday, July 18th, Paul sent me a picture of the final marker, and it is absolutely beautiful. I realize 10 days from start to finish may not be the norm or even feasible in many circumstances; however, it’s not the short timeframe that prompted me to write this review, it’s the depth of caring, artistry, and support that Paul and Carved In Stone of Arizona Monument demonstrated and continues to demonstrate. Paul took, what could have extended dealing with the practicalities of my loss, by several months, and gave me the true gift of peace. I will be forever grateful.

Carved in Stone made our awards for the Gunsite Alumni Shoot this year. I was able to get them a week before the event and they were absolutely beautiful. Carved on local sandstone and granite, they were done to perfection. I would use Paul again, his work is outstanding.
