Thankful for everyone here. Went to pick up my puppy child's urn & paw-print and then see that they also gave me some of her fur. The visit was short and sweet but I did sit outside in my car and bawl my eyes out. They were so gentle and kind and I just know they handled my baby with so much respect and love. Very glad to have folks like them to handle these stressful and sad moments.

We lost our family pet due to health issues as a senior. My vet handled everything and used this facility. My sweet girl was returned home in the most respectfully packaged way & also had an obituary posted. I felt these people got she wasn't just a dog to us. I wholeheartedly recommend Sam and his team for anyone looking for individual and/or viewing pet cremation services. He and his employees were very professional, gentle, and caring throughout the process. They kindly answered all of my questions over the phone and were very accommodating in setting up an appointment for an individual cremation and viewing. We took our time and never felt rushed during the process, which was a relief. We were able to view the cremation and were very pleased with the quality of care Sam and his employees provided to our family and our deceased dog. The individual cremation and viewing naturally cost more than alternative options, but the prices were still reasonable. We recently lost a very precious family dog and we felt a measure of closure after the warm experience at Family Pet Cremation. I cannot recommend them enough and would honestly travel a great distance if I ever needed their services again. Thank you Sam and team for all that you do!

The staff are all so kind and I could not have asked for a more compassionate level of service for my beloved kitty. The engraved urn is beautiful, and I will always treasure it, the pawprint engraved with her name, and the fur they collected.Their website has a tribute page, and it means so much to be able to share memories and photos to honor her life and the love we shared. They really go above and beyond for us humans.Plus, they have a friendly cat and dogs who greeted me when I showed up to retrieve her remains, which was nice pet therapy for a grieving human.Thank you for what you do, and for taking such good care of my loved one. Today I went to Carson Road Pet Clinic to pick up my beloved kitty Willow’s ashes.I was told her cremation box would be engraved, but I was extremely pleased to see what a beautiful job they had done. There was also a pendant with her name on one side and her little paw print on the other.Information was included about their tribute site where I can share photos and memories of Willow and others can comment and add their memories.I only wish Family Pet Cremation had been around when I had my Serengeti cremated. He got a basic cedar box, no engraving, no pendant no memorial site.I am so very pleased with the way this place treated my loved one!

My German Shepherd passed away at home Thursday night, I was completely at a loss about what to do. I called Family Pet Cremation at 10:30 at night and the company owner, Sam picked up the phone. Right away I knew I wasn't alone in taking care of my beloved pet. Sam and his team were great, they walked us through everything and made the worst day of my life a little easier. I just want to take a moment to Thank Sam for helping me through my tough time losing my Dog Baby. My Pebbles passed away at home a week ago. I was broken in pieces. When I called they were closing but Sam agreed to stay until I arrive.I couldn’t ask for better service & compassion that I received. While it's never a happy thing to say goodbye to a loved companion, and I dreaded going to my Vet's office to pick up my cat's remains, I was very pleased with the care and attention that was put into it. My cat's paw print was definitely hers (some places fake it) I could tell they had to push her toes out and down to get her toes to leave a print because of all the hair she had between her toes and paw pads lol... and I was so happy they included a patch of her hair.. I had actually sad that I'd not asked the vet to trim a lock of her hair for me, so to see that it was done as a little extra by the cremation service made me happy... And its so wonderful that they go through the effort of setting up a memorial page for your pets on their website as well.. Overall a thoughtful service that is obviously done with care - and I am grateful that they were the ones to handle the last affairs of my cat

I recently used Family Pet Cremation Services to help us after my daughters dog died. I am very impressed with the level care and service I was shown. The owner Sam was very professional and in constant communication with me throughout the entire process. His staff will go to the vet to pick up your animal if necessary to make it easier on you as well as deliver the cremains to you after. He truly cares about the customer and understands the business. His urns were of very high quality as well. He also does a paw print in clay and sets up a Facebook memorial page for you to add pictures and comments. I highly recommend his company if you are faced with the decision to cremate your pet. Thank you for your service during this difficult time.

PSA, we unfortunately had to put our dog Santa Fe to sleep a few weeks back, from the vet he was sent to Family Pet Cremation of Alabama. Santa Fe was Roberts parents dog we had been taking care of since his mom passed away last year. We were going to take him back home to bury him since he lived most of his life on Lake Tuscaloosa. After a couple of weeks I received a text from Will stating they would bring him by to us if I would verify the address. I did and after about a week I text the number back and Sam responded and said they would get him to me the next day. Two days later I text and said I needed to speak to someone. Sam called me and basically told me Will no longer worked for them and had Santa Fe when he abruptly quit and they were working to get Santa Fe back. Never heard anything for several days, spoke with Sam again last week and told him I wanted more done and to get police or some law enforcement involved. I did not hear anything today and do not expect to. I wanted others to know I would never have another pet sent to this place. They did supposedly initiate a refund which the money is beside the point. We would love to have him back. To the jerk who has him, have the decency to take him back where you took him from originally and I’ll gladly pick him up. It’s very disappointing this is the kind of people this place employs, they are hired and trusted with peoples pets. Pet lovers will understand.

My daughter lost her Guinea pig she’s had for nine years. She was devastated. We were leaving on a trip to Maine and Sam, the owner, drove to my house at 9pm and delivered the ashes so my daughter could have closure. This is a level of service you rarely see. Sam has cremated 5 pets for our family. My husband and I are both licensed funeral directors. The compassion that Sam and his staff shows to each and every client cannot be surpassed. Sure, there might be other cremation services you could choose from, but you won’t find a better place than Family Pet. In fact, when our first dog died, I called Sam’s competitor. They told me they didn’t have time to talk to me and asked me to call back. Guess what? I didn’t call back. When I called Sam, he answered his phone immediately and put my mind at ease. My beloved pet Rocky was cremated here. It was a WONDERFUL experience. I didn't know what to expect, as I have never had a pet cremated before, but Sam and Willie were wonderful to us and treated the whole situation with the utmost care and respect. I definitely recommend them. We got a private cremation, a very beautiful pewter urn with silver paw prints around it, a sample of Rocky's hair, and an imprint of his paw in clay. I will never forget their impeccable service during my time of mourning.

It has taken me four months to be able to share my experience with Family Pet Cremation and Burial Services. I lost my soul dog, Sport, in November 2019. I knew what I wanted our experience to be, but I had not researched and prepared for such an event. I wanted to be present (on site) during Sport's cremation. I called and was met with compassion. Sam provided the relevant information in an effective and professional manner. We arranged for a private cremation. I transported Sport to the facility. Sam took over from there: he was professional and caring; he never tried to upsale us; he explained everything thoroughly; he gave us all the time that we needed. The entire experience was absolutely perfect.

We have used Family Pet Cremation and Burial multiple times for private cremations. Sam and his team are incredibly caring and accommodating through the entire process. Having seen the back-of-house operations personally, I can also say that they have a meticulous system to track remains that are sent to them and ensure that ashes returned to you are indeed your pet. I wouldn't go anywhere else.

As a licensed Funeral Director in the State of Alabama, and with thirty five years of experience in the funeral business, I have seriously considered opening a pet funeral home in Birmingham for the past ten or fifteen years. My partner and I had a 15 year old teacup poodle, 14 year old toy poodle, and an 8 year old yorkie, and since we have no children, these three "girls" were our children. Of course, they were spoiled and their feet NEVER touched the ground. Even our neighbors and family referred to them as "the girls". I say all of this to explain just how much the "girls" mean to us, and how particular I am when it comes to the death of even a pet after all the years of funeral home experience . We couldn't just "dig a hole" and bury them, because, as my partner said, "Their feet never touched the ground, so why would we want to bury them in the ground?" So, when we lost our 15 year old teacup, we decided to cremate her. I have two friends with small cremation tortes made for pets, and one of them I had actually operated for a year or so... I had also heard THIS facility, designed especially for pets, had opened in Birmingham, and was owned and managed by a licensed funeral director with whom I had attended mortuary school. We decided to locate him, and entrust him with taking care of our "baby" girl...and we could not have been more satisfied with the services he provided us. him to take care of everything for us. Well, yesterday, we lost our 14 year old suddenly due to a heart attack, and there was no question at ALL about what we would do. We immediately knew we wanted Sam to take care of everything. Just like any "human" funeral home would do, Sam came to the house, picked up our little girl, Kandi and took her back the his facilities for cremation. I can't tell you how much I appreciated the professional, caring and personal services we received from Sam and Family Pet "Funeral Home" (Cremation and Burial Services). Once again, everything went extremely smooth, and their prices are affordable. If you lose a pet, we can't recommend Sam and his staff enough -- from the affordable prices to the care, concern, and professionalism they extend.

Well I cannot comment on the services done at the facility, they're driving, especially at night is absolutely atrocious. I was almost run off the road by a blue van with this company's logo on the side and the same phone number. It was driven by a young male, caucasian, and I couldn't see his headlights he was on my bumper so much. I'm driving a cargo van with over 3,000 lb of cargo in it and I can't stop that thing on a dime nor can I accelerate it just out of nowhere. We're both incredibly lucky that neither one of us had an accident due to the reckless driving of the operator of this vehicle.

As a licensed Funeral Director in the State of Alabama, and with thirty five years of experience in the funeral business, I have seriously considered opening a pet funeral home in Birmingham for the past ten or fifteen years. My partner and I had a 15 year old teacup poodle, 14 year old toy poodle, and an 8 year old yorkie, and since we have no children, these three "girls" were our children. Of course, they were spoiled and their feet NEVER touched the ground. Even our neighbors and family referred to them as "the girls". I say all of this to explain just how much the "girls" mean to us, and how particular I am when it comes to the death of even a pet after all the years of funeral home experience . We couldn't just "dig a hole" and bury them, because, as my partner said, "Their feet never touched the ground, so why would we want to bury them in the ground?" So, when we lost our 15 year old teacup, we decided to cremate her. I have two friends with small cremation tortes made for pets, and one of them I had actually operated for a year or so... I had also heard THIS facility, designed especially for pets, had opened in Birmingham, and was owned and managed by a licensed funeral director with whom I had attended mortuary school. We decided to locate him, and entrust him with taking care of our "baby" girl...and we could not have been more satisfied with the services he provided us. him to take care of everything for us. Well, yesterday, we lost our 14 year old suddenly due to a heart attack, and there was no question at ALL about what we would do. We immediately knew we wanted Sam to take care of everything. Just like any "human" funeral home would do, Sam came to the house, picked up our little girl, Kandi and took her back the his facilities for cremation. I can't tell you how much I appreciated the professional, caring and personal services we received from Sam and Family Pet "Funeral Home" (Cremation and Burial Services). Once again, everything went extremely smooth, and their prices are affordable. If you lose a pet, we can't recommend Sam and his staff enough -- from the affordable prices to the care, concern, and professionalism they extend.

This past Sunday I lost my best friend, my beautiful black lab, Roxie. The people at Family Pet Cremation and Burial Services were so compassionate and truly made us feel like they cared for our loss. I’m so thankful I once again have my girl with me and the clay pawprint will be treasured always.

Unfortunately, we had to use Family Pet Cremation, but fortunately they were there for us. Sam and his team are fantastic, they were very sympathetic to our boy’s passing and treated him with respect. We do highly recommend them! Thank you for being there!

I have loved working with them. Sadly, I've lost two pets in the span of a year, but Family Pet Cremation was there for me during the process. Wonderful people and service, and a great way to remember my pets.

Well I cannot comment on the services done at the facility, they're driving, especially at night is absolutely atrocious. I was almost run off the road by a blue van with this company's logo on the side and the same phone number. It was driven by a young male, caucasian, and I couldn't see his headlights he was on my bumper so much. I'm driving a cargo van with over 3,000 lb of cargo in it and I can't stop that thing on a dime nor can I accelerate it just out of nowhere. We're both incredibly lucky that neither one of us had an accident due to the reckless driving of the operator of this vehicle.

Ray was very professional and very sensitive when we spoke. He has pets and children of his own which speaks volumes. I HIGHLY recommend these guys! They treated me with respect in a timely manner. These are the guys you wanna use in your time of grief.

This was the 2nd time I've had to visit Sam and Holstein. It is a sad and depressing thing to have to experience. But I couldn't imagine having done it without Sam. I'm more than thankful for his graciousness and genuine compassion, he is more than a "officiant", he's my friend for life.
